KonTiki in Nürnberg

Great restaurant with a very good and appropriate atmosphere. The staff is very nice and the food was great. I only found the prices a bit high, but that's bearable.

The service has become very poor, you make a reservation for a larger group and ask by phone whether you have a seat and the answer is yes on the phone. Then you get a call on the day of the event and they just cancel it and you supposedly don't know anything about the phone call. They were also uncooperative and did not consider any other option. Since the Kontiki is not exactly cheap, I expect good service, but unfortunately it is no longer recommended.

After more than twenty years of being a regular guest, I say goodbye to the new concept and thank you for a great long time in a wonderful atmosphere. In short: the quality of the cocktail varies too much and the volume of the music is not even remotely suitable for a cozy meal. You know what the plates looked like many years ago when, for example, surf & turf was ordered, now many dishes could use a designer, because occasionally it looks like it was fresh from the canteen of the tax office in the 80s. It was nice. Thanks. Now the party people can get involved...

Cocktail Bar in Nürnberg, located right next to the river, with a surpringly large and diverse food menu.

The food was really of a bad quality we ordered the spare ribs, we couldn’t eat them, they were really bad! The drinks are not very tasty. The prices are super high for the quality. The ambiance is cool and the place has a nice setup. I’m definitely not going back. If you decide to go, it’s better to book.

Wir hatten einen großartigen Abend im Kon Tiki! Die Cocktailkarte ist abwechslungsreich, die Drinks sind super lecker und mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Besonders die exotischen Kreationen haben uns begeistert. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und gemütlich – perfekt, um dem Alltag zu entfliehen. Am Samstagabend sorgt der DJ für die richtige Stimmung, und die Musik passt perfekt zur tropischen Kulisse. Man fühlt sich fast wie im Urlaub! Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam, und man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und können das Kon Tiki jedem empfehlen, der Lust auf einen besonderen Abend mit tollen Drinks und guter Musik hat!

The food was well prepared, the meat ordered medium rare unfortunately came medium rare with frozen herb butter. It is advisable to enjoy the meal a little earlier in the evening. On Saturday at 10 p.m. the lights were dimmed and the volume of the music was increased to a level where you could no longer hear your own voice. The service was great. Our service was so exuberant at every table, but that was charming for me.

The employees are very friendly, the location right on the river is awesome and the teriyaki sticks in particular are really a burner! 🔥

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with friends at Kontiki bar, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The cocktails could only be ordered using numbers from the drinks menu - in a cocktail bar I would have expected the names to be known. We're not eating sushi! We initially ordered six cocktails. Shortly afterwards we discovered a special offer on the **menu (!!)** with twelve cocktails at a significantly better price. Within two minutes of placing our order we asked to switch to this offer. But the boss (?) refused on the grounds that the order had already been reported to the tax office - that not only sounded absurd, but also not very customer-friendly. When we asked why larger groups weren't actively made aware of such specials, the only response was: "I can't tell everyone that." Unfortunately an absolute no-go for us. We won't be coming back.

Oh well. What can you say… The ambience is quite nice, even if it seems to be out of date. The starters (teriyaki sticks and exotic starter plate) were simply a disappointment and gave the impression of pre-bought pre-made products. The halloumi burger sounded and looked good at first, but then was disappointing in terms of taste and consistency. Instead of the Lugana we ordered from the Ca de Frati winery on the menu, we got another Lugana without asking. Conclusion: If you come here, you should eat somewhere else beforehand and just drink a cocktail.

Fantastic bar with great cocktails and a great atmosphere! The Kontikibar in Nuremberg is simply the perfect place for a successful evening! The cocktails are absolutely top class - creative, tasty and prepared with great attention to detail. We were also completely impressed by the food: fresh, tasty and perfectly matched to the drinks. What made this evening unforgettable was the unique atmosphere. A DJ played at the front bar and we were able to dance – just great! The atmosphere was consistently energetic, and the Kontikibar team was amazing: super relaxed, warm and absolutely professional. You immediately feel welcome, almost as if you were part of the Kontikibar family. Conclusion: Top cocktails, delicious food, great atmosphere and a team that loves their job! We'll definitely be back!

There's a very cool vibe at this place. The island style is great. It's popular so it's full and space can be tight. The service was outstanding. Several employees asked how things were going and they were very kind and attentive. The food was excellent. Lots of interesting choices. It's expensive. It's an interesting experience though. Be aware that things crank up after 9 or 10 into a club scene.

Honestly? The loveless cocktails are nothing! If they are delivered 30 seconds after ordering, they are either pre-mixed or come from a plastic canister. They're not good either. If you want to drink cocktails in Nuremberg, there are much better locations, especially since the run-of-the-mill music that is way too loud reinforces the impression of “quick and cheap”.

We spontaneously went on a group trip to the bar during the week. We would probably have less luck with that in the summer months. Reservation strongly recommended. Best bar in the best location on the water. The interior design also has a certain charm. Everything is very Hawaiian. The service is super nice and really has it. However, beer lovers are not welcome as it is, after all, a cocktail bar. Beer is only available in 0.3.

We went here because of the extensive selection of cocktails. Both the cocktails with alcohol and those without were all very tasty. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. You get the feeling that everyone here really enjoys their work. At late hours, people try to be considerate of the residents.

A themed bar with a pleasant atmosphere. Went on a busy Friday night and orders were taken fairly quickly given the size of the crowd. Half the menu is cocktails, and we both went for burgers which were fine. I’d describe the cocktails as a little watery but tasted good.

Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed, so no review of the kitchen. Service itself was good, but every now and then it seemed as if our waitress didn't know how to do everything. As is the case everywhere in the catering industry. The place was full, the music put you in a good mood and the cocktails were delicious.

Super tasty and great atmosphere

Overpriced. Restaurant made for tourists. Meat or Fish platters cost 30 € and the portion sizes are maybe enough for kids. Burgers are made for show, not to eat. Had to eat one with fork and knife cuz it barely held together. For tourists its not a bad place, but cant recommend to locals.

Cool place! Cool cuisine, reasonable prices, cool atmosphere. And by the way, the prices are far from astronomical, read the menu more carefully. Definitely recommend!

I think everyone who gives this place great reviews doesn't know what good food is. The only nice thing about that evening was one of the waitresses. A visit to this restaurant is not recommended for anyone who loves and enjoys good cuisine and ambience. Price/performance ratio is basically overpriced. Never ever.

A bar / disco that has the flair of the 80s/90s. Music from the 2000 club scene. Prices are within normal limits. Cozy and quite crowded. Is unreservedly recommended.

Oh dear, that was absolutely nothing, it was supposed to be a nice evening for two, but instead of saying we are fully booked, they try to make even more sales and use the terrace, which is tolerably covered with foil, in November when the outside temperature is 5 degrees to get it full...it was just cold, had zero point zero atmosphere, a beer tent is even nicer! Eat lukewarm, some of the vegetables are cooked mushy, but the other part is raw. Kangaroo in pepper sauce was soft, chicken skewers were, but the sausage was like the sole of a shoe, a waste of money!!! We didn't have a cocktail because the atmosphere/temperature didn't suit it at all. Conclusion: Not again,

A very, very nice bar in the heart of Nuremberg. A little hidden but absolutely cozy. The food is simply great and the cocktails at the bar are a dream. The waiters are very friendly and have fun for everyone. This added another experience to our short trip to Nuremberg. We'll now enjoy the cocktails. We would love to come back. Keep it up. You are a great team.

Great restaurant, a bit hidden in the back streets of Nuremberg. Huge selection of cocktails, delicious food. Really recommended. The waitress (sheriff) made our evening even better. He was very friendly and accommodating. There is a parking garage nearby for those traveling by car. I think the prices are appropriate too.

Everything is ok. Neither more nor less. Nothing really bad, but nothing could excite me, neither the food, the cocktails nor the service. The ambience is good, but the decoration has been the same for x years, which you can sometimes see. Unfortunately, my ice cream cafe was a scoop of vanilla ice cream thrown into the hot coffee. In my opinion, something like this always shows how much attention is paid to quality. However, you can, but you don't have to... I don't recommend it.

Never in a million years thought I'd find one of my favorite tiki experiences in the middle of oldtown Nürnberg! KonTiki is well worth a visit for anyone on the hunt for a comforting nook to have a chill drink and a good bite away from the hustle and bustle. Atmosphere is very strong - warm, welcoming and transports you instantly to a cozy island vibe even in the heart of a medieval walled city. Our service was terrific. Everyone was kind and attentive and spoke fluent English which was a big plus for our party. We were even greeted with appetizer shots immediately upon entering and before we left. Classy. Food and drink was likewise excellent and the menu is quite expansive. The variety entree with the kangaroo/ostrich/chicken is a solid move if you're having trouble deciding. I also recommend their Zombie if you're like me and enjoy your drinks on the strong side. This place is so good I bought a t-shirt, something I practically never do. It's going to be my regular attire now when I have a Mai Tai by the side of the pool B) Thanks KonTiki, I'm impressed!

Great bar with a DJ, lots of cocktails to choose from, unfortunately the music is way too loud! or too overdriven/loud and the speakers 'blaring' has nothing to do with the good sound!!! DJ is probably already deaf and can no longer hear the difference! We were there on Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The bar itself is great, with a good crowd and a great atmosphere!

Unfortunately we were on the lower floor and it was a little musty... the service was very nice, but we didn't like the food. If you want to eat burgers you should definitely go to a real burger shop because they didn't really taste that good. The salads are also not recommended.

I have known Kon Tiki for over 30 years. The food is still very good. I'm thrilled that I can still find the teriyaki sticks on the memory card today, and the Mai Tai is delicious. The team is extremely friendly and guest-oriented without being intrusive. The fact that the place turns into a "disco" after 10 p.m. was new to me, but it's really cool. Conclusion: my former “second home” is still a top place in Nuremberg. Absolutely highly recommended!!!

Unfortunately the younger boss was very unfriendly. You should eat and then quickly vacate your seat. That's why we're thinking about going there again. It would be a shame otherwise it would be a nice bar with a holiday atmosphere. But that doesn't work at all.

The food was delicious, the service was good - it could have been a little more present, the ambience (we were sitting in the winter garden) seemed a bit old. The menu is very large.

The reception and service were almost perfect, you felt very welcome as a guest. We had mojito and caipirinha as drinks which were delicious! For dinner I had Giant Hawaiian Prawns and my wife had Maui Broil, both meals were delicious. Only in my meal were the "baked potatoes" served with a matjes sauce with apple and onions, which was a bit strange to me with lobster crabs! Unfortunately the ambience had deteriorated a lot, we were very well positioned in the terrace area but the smell of feces, caused by the pigeons that had spread out in the flower pots on the terrace, was very unpleasant!
