Communication via email is very difficult; even the simplest questions (e.g., regarding voucher procedures) go unanswered (even after multiple requests). Scheduling appointments also appears to be difficult (due to simultaneous bookings). Unfriendly and sometimes even rude comments are made on a personal level. Overall, the service is poor, lacks customer focus, and is therefore not recommended.

I can highly recommend this accommodation. If I could give more stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟, I would immediately. The accommodation is very nice and clean. The restaurant is also highly recommended; the food is very good and plentiful, and the staff deserves many stars. Next time I'm in this area, I will definitely come back here. I can also highly recommend the incredibly beautiful gondola garden.

We stayed there for three days. The food was great, and all the staff were friendly. Today we managed to get a gondola in the gondola village. Definitely recommended – super cozy! All in all, it was three fantastic days.

The food was okay, but it would be nice if all guests at the table received their food at roughly the same time, rather than some only getting theirs after others have finished eating. Furthermore, drink orders were forgotten. When asked about it, the only response was a curt "Everyone makes mistakes." While that's true, it shouldn't be communicated so rudely to the guest. The payment process was also lengthy. Paying by card is cumbersome. Before paying, no one asked whether I wanted to pay in cash or by card. Only after adding up the total did the annoyed comment come: "Now I have to enter all of this into the register again." The service definitely needs improvement!

Very good Franconian food, unfortunately the service has slowed down, as many have already mentioned. A 30-minute wait for two dishes is quite long. And the salad at the beginning also took 20 minutes. It used to be better, although the quality is still top-notch.

As we have done many times before, we hiked from Nuremberg to Kornburg, stopping at the Grüner Baum Inn. The food was okay, the service staff friendly, if at times a little overwhelmed, but the real shock came with the bill. I had ordered and received a large pot of tea with a bag each of chamomile and peppermint tea. A large shandy, approx. 0.5 liters, cost €4.20. My tea, approx. 1 liter, cost €15.00. I was shocked; I hadn't had to pay that much in Baden-Baden, although I had paid it some time ago. When I asked the service staff,... I was told by the boss. I realized that the same amount of tea (2 bags plus hot water) as beer is much more expensive. My request to the boss is to reconsider your pricing; I find it extremely excessive.

It took a very long time to be served. Unfortunately, a drink was also forgotten. The food is great, the cordon bleu was really great, especially the cheese!

Unfortunately, our visit was very disappointing overall. The fries and schnitzel were completely oversalted. When we informed the waitress, she reacted extremely rudely. Some of our orders were also forgotten, leading to long waits. We also found a hair in the salad – this, too, was met with a rude and unprofessional response. The hotel room was also not clean – the cleaning was superficial and definitely not thorough. We would not recommend it.

If you enjoy an old-school but well-kept atmosphere, this is highly recommended. Friendly staff who, even early in the morning, wear a smile and exude good cheer.

The inn has a long tradition, has been family-owned for a long time, and is very cozy. The service is friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food has declined considerably and is not really recommended. I hope this will be improved soon.

We liked it quite a bit. We stayed in the guesthouse and had a double and a single room, although they were somewhat spartanly furnished (no safe or refrigerator, just a minibar, no closets, just a few shelves, and not a single drawer anywhere!). The beds were very good, though. The breakfast was also good, but not great. We missed the fresh juices, and we were only asked one out of three mornings whether we would like scrambled or fried eggs. We really liked the location; it was very quiet, and Nuremberg is only a half-hour away by car and easily accessible by public transport. All in all, we were very satisfied, also due to the extremely good value for money, and would happily recommend the guesthouse.

We've actually been eating at Blödel for MANY years, probably the first time in the 1980s. However, in recent years, we've been repeatedly disappointed. The quality and wait times are no longer up to scratch. We now eat elsewhere and are completely thrilled again. It's a shame that such a tradition has become increasingly worse.

Restaurant with its own butcher shop. Beer garden with prompt and friendly service 👍. We ordered suckling pig shoulder (according to the menu, it's actually only available from 6 p.m.), but upon request, it was no problem 🙂. It also came with bread dumplings and a delicious coleslaw. It even had shaved horseradish in it... it was truly delicious. We'd love to come back 😉

The food at the Gasthof Grüner Baum (Blödel) is truly delicious—fresh and beautifully presented. However, the portions are quite small, especially considering the rather high prices. Drink prices, on the other hand, are fair and reasonable. Overall, a nice inn with good food, but the value for money could be improved.

The three of us had dinner today on Mother's Day - left the restaurant disappointed after 1.5 hours. The side dishes were changed in 2 out of 3 dishes without any information, I had already eaten everything before my father even got his Cordon Bleu. The service tried very hard today, but unfortunately we've had different experiences before. Last time, unfortunately, it wasn't possible to eat at the same time and there were only two of us... unfortunately the staff and the kitchen seem to be very overwhelmed with the seating capacity...

The Blödel family helped make my party unforgettable. My guests were thrilled with the phenomenal starter and dessert buffet. Both visually and taste-wise. I would also have liked to have had the main courses from them, unfortunately my celebration location was too far away to deliver the dishes hot enough. Celebrated an 80th birthday there. Food very good, service very attentive.

Were there on May 1st. Unfortunately it was far from good. Fries were extremely soggy and still slightly raw in the middle. Even the very little ones were far away from crispy. Carp was just about done but still needed a few minutes. Schnitzel was solid. Salad nothing special, just standard. Our waiter was nice. Reorder drinks went under. But the highlight was when a lady at the next table asked about allergens and was so annoyed by the condition that all the tables in the area looked very irritated. Sorry, that doesn't work.

For a wedding in this location, eat there several times beforehand. Service is hit and miss, sometimes extremely slow, sometimes fast. Once we had to wait 1.5 hours for food. The location is very nice. Prices extremely high.

As a side dish, a small salad and a stupid comment, mediocre food and a coke that was too big. That's what you get here at the Grüner Baum - inn for stupid people? When we asked again, the waiter said our little one wasn't the only one waiting for his food. The competence here should be “wait”!

Not even one star is justified. Almost 400km to go out for a delicious Franconian meal with the family at Easter and then pure disappointment. Not only did we have to wait almost 75 minutes for our Schäufele, but it couldn't even be done with a sharp knife. Even after a complaint and a demonstration of removing the meat, the waitress just downplayed it. Even the new portion that was carelessly brought out was inedible and too salty. The only way to go was to the kitchen. Hardly a word of apology or an offer to proceed - instead, I paid for dumplings and sauce (which is actually part of the entire dish), but at least I left the restaurant hungry!!! Conclusion - we won't be there again - disappointed through and through. Thankfully, Nuremberg and the surrounding area offer many other beautiful options

We visited this inn with 4 people on Easter Saturday and were literally "served" by the service and the food.!! The waitress didn't greet us or respond to our friendly greeting, instead complaining that the cash register wasn't working again. We were then assigned a table in the well-occupied restaurant and we expected a longer wait for our JOINT lunch. That was also the case. The drinks came in a reasonable wait. We ordered the following dishes on the menu: 2× Schäufele (incl. with dumpling and sauce, incl. side salad) 1× roulade (including dumpling, sauce and red cabbage) 1× carp (incl. side salad) The waiting time until the first food was brought took about 40 minutes, we forced our visitor to start so that the food didn't get cold. In the meantime the roulade had been eaten and 1 salad was brought for the carp. But after about 1 hour 15 minutes only the two side salads for the Schäufele were brought. On top was a wilted leaf of lettuce that had probably been sitting in the warm kitchen for over an hour. We tried the salad underneath and continued to wait for the Schäufele, which were finally brought. As usual, a few pieces of the dumpling were pressed into the sauce. However, it was impossible to cut off even the smallest piece of meat from Schäufele. The crust was still wafery, but the meat was so hard and dry that it wasn't even possible to cut the meat with a serrated knife. In the meantime the carp was finally brought in. Therefore the food was complained about and new food was asked for. Then came 1!!! new food (although we received 2 bone-dry Schäufele). This was just as hard and it was impossible to separate the meat from the bone. When I brought this dish to the chef in the kitchen, he admitted that the food was off and just too hard. After 2 hours, only 2 out of 4 people had received separate meals. We had now had enough and asked for the bill. We waited another 30 minutes for the bill, even though there were hardly any guests there. And now the next outrageous thing happened!! Instead of canceling the two dishes with the inedible Schäufele, the side dish and the sauce with the accompanying dumpling had to be paid for. For a total of 8.80 wilted salads and 8.40 for sauce and dumpling, which went back on the plates!!!! Simply amazing!! We would have expected a big apology, as two people had to leave the restaurant after 2.5 hours without lunch. We were ashamed that we invited our visitors to such an inhospitable "inn"!!! Never be a fool again!!!

We ended up here on the way back from our vacation because my husband really wanted to eat “Schäufele”. We received a very warm welcome. The “Schäufele” was a dream, exactly how it should be, crispy skin, tender meat and delicious dumplings. Since we were traveling with our motorhome, we were even allowed to stay overnight on your lawn for free. I also had breakfast there, which was really great for the price. All in all, we felt really comfortable here, everyone was very warm and, above all, accommodating. We would come back at any time ;) thank you very much for your warmth

Spent 4 nights at the Gasthof Blödel. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. Drinks were excellent. We used the bar down the street. So, in my opinion, you can't complain. Of course, unless something really goes wrong (everything was perfect for me). Thanks to everyone.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my girlfriend and we ordered Schäufele. The meat in my dish wasn't cooked properly, the skin wasn't crispy at all, and the salad wasn't fresh either, it looked like leftovers. After we finished eating, an older waitress asked us how the food tasted. I have been honest that there was a problem with the preparation of the skin in my dish. She then huffed dissatisfiedly and said nothing further. But an older couple at the next table also noticed a problem with their food, and the waitress took it seriously, relayed the feedback to the kitchen and later returned to apologize. We always communicated with her politely. I suspect it's because of our Asian appearance, as I can't find any other reason why the waitress/boss only behaves so rudely with us. I know she is the boss because my husband and I have been here many times. Afterwards we wanted to pay but we had to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to take care of us. The service was really bad. Maybe her main customers are retirees and she doesn't care if she makes my money, but what matters to me is that I won't spend any more money at this restaurant.

Excellent Franconian cuisine with some highlights

Our visit to the gondola village was a really special evening. The ambience, the quality of the food and the service were excellent all round. Anyone who wants to spend a special evening with their loved ones has come to the right place. And...Kevin - best man! Thank you for the nice time and the great evening. Despite being open on public holidays, ordering and service went very quickly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous.

Since our family was celebrating Christmas nearby, we reserved 4 rooms including breakfast at the Hotel Grüner Baum from December 24th to 25th. 3 days beforehand, just to be on the safe side (it's Christmas) I called the restaurant/hotel again and asked if there was really breakfast on December 25th. The employee on the phone checked with her colleague again and confirmed this. Ok, now I arrived on December 24th around 4 p.m. and read: on December 25th there is no breakfast in the hotel, the amount will be deducted from the bill. Well, our hosts made every effort and did some magic. In my room (8) the sink drain wasn't working, but I quickly fixed it myself. The cleanliness of room 18 was “in need of improvement”, otherwise it was fine.

We visited the gondola village. All in all, a nice idea, but the service was not well organized (either too slow, but then again asked every 2 minutes or a bit intrusive), the menu offered was not entirely transparent in terms of price (e.g. the aperitif offered is on the offer despite the performance not included in the price). The food (fondue) was a nice idea and everything was fine, but apart from the event and lake location, nothing special. The bottom line is that it's well thought out and nicely done, but it's also too expensive and the service is difficult.

I ordered a sauerbraten today. Unfortunately tough and dry. The meat just didn't seem to be of good quality. At the end I told the waitress that I wasn't happy. But she didn't really care, she supposedly passed it on. But the boss, who had previously greeted every table, stopped showing up, and even so there was no response at all. As a customer you really don't feel like you're being taken care of. For 18 euros you can expect the sauerbraten to be fresh and good. To be honest, the roast didn't seem fresh, more like warmed up. It's a shame, you go out to eat on the 3rd Advent and then you'll be so disappointed. If only you had at least received feedback or an apology at the end, but nothing came.

Our drinks were initially brought to the restaurant, but once they were empty, no waitress seemed to be interested in us anymore. No one came to the table to ask if we would like to order more drinks. Only when the food was served did we have the opportunity to order new drinks. The course of the food was also chaotic: the main course was served before the starter. After I pointed out that the appetizer was still pending, the waitress seemed to have forgotten this. To make matters worse, the main course was taken away from me in order to serve the starter. Afterwards I waited a long time before the main course came back, which had now cooled slightly and probably hadn't even been warmed up. Unfortunately, one star is already too many here. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Nice atmosphere, service makes an effort. There were eight of us - unfortunately everyone felt the quality of the food differently = quality fluctuated. Schäufele: Really great. Hawaii toast 1a. Franconian bratwursts, probably made in-house: very good. The accompanying potato salad, however, has already faced some criticism. Bratwurst bread: okay, but unfortunately piled high with a mountain of machine-cut and therefore metallic-tasting onions. I couldn't eat them. The in-house butcher shop makes bratwurst biscuits and tartare possible on a Sunday evening. Sour bratwursts without real broth, tasteless Wasserschnalze brand. It's a shame about the beautiful bratwurst. White bread (!) was served with it, the other one had run out. Sauerkraut with the bratwurst, on the other hand, was decent again. A lady reported that on a previous visit she was served soggy rösti wedges with salmon. All in all, a mixed impression of a cozy inn.

The organization was perfect, all of our wishes were taken into account and the entire team contributed with a lot of commitment to making our party unforgettable. We went there again for lunch yesterday and I wasn't really happy. In my opinion, the permanent staff were somehow overwhelmed. Ok, there was a lot going on but the regular staff should have it under control. We ordered a cutlet with potato salad and a portion of ham noodles. The cutlet came after what felt like 15 minutes, which was ok, but the ham noodles only came after about 30 minutes. That means I was already finished eating when the ham noodles arrived :-(. We asked the waitress about it and got a flippant answer received. A small apology would have been appropriate. At least the quality of both meals was good. When it came time to pay, we had to wait another quarter of an hour for the bill. All in all, the waiting times weren't really good, things could have been better. I'm only giving it two stars because the food was ok.
