We arrived without a reservation but were immediately seated at a table for four. The food was very tasty, but none of us liked the side salad. The sauce was completely oversalted. A shame. The service was okay—when we asked what would be the best side dish for the pork knuckle, we received only a snide reply. We would come back for the food again.

The Enzianhütte is very well-known, so I made a quick stop there. The entrance fee was €10, probably for the live music. The place wasn't packed, but there were empty glasses everywhere, which wasn't very inviting for me. Then I waited for at least half an hour before I could even place an order, noticing that guests (probably regulars) who arrived after me were served immediately. Unfortunately, when I finally placed my order, it took another quarter of an hour. For having to pay €10, I left the place disappointed after an hour. What a pity!

We were there yesterday for the second time. Unfortunately, we were totally disappointed. 15.50 for half a chicken and salad. And the chicken was really small and bone dry. The salad was so heavily dotted that you had to be careful not to get dirty from head to toe. The tables were dirty. The people at the next table weren't happy either, so we've had better food there. Too bad.

Always very varied—unfortunately, not what it used to be. The ladies used to wear nice dresses, and the men wore lederhosen—now, unfortunately, they wear Temuka and Birkenstocks or ON sneakers. Service, as always, was very pleasant. The €10 entrance fee is too much—if you like the music 🎶, it's okay...Bottles of wine with screw caps...oh well, I'll come back anyway...

We wanted to go to the Royal Bavarian Enzian Hut for a morning pint on August 3, 2025. At the entrance, we were asked to pay €10 per person for the music. That was way too much for us, since we also wanted something to eat and drink. This should really be mentioned on the website. Sunday morning pint from 11 a.m. With live music. Great. It was fun. Definitely worth doing sometime. Great, attentive service. Even in the heavy rain, everyone stayed cool.

We made a reservation for a bus group for the morning pint on July 20, 2025. There's no mention of admission on the website or in our email contact. Upon arrival, the group was asked to pay €10.00 in cash per person. An email requesting a statement was not responded to.

The restaurant and the food are good, but the waiter's service is a disgrace. He'd rather see the guests leave than come. I was reassigned three times, even though the restaurant was only a quarter full. A guest who took my side was reprimanded. The menu was slammed down on the table, the food was placed without comment, and just before paying, he placed a few flowers on the table. Anyone who thinks this is a scoundrel...

An absolute must in Oberstaufen. Great atmosphere and excellent cuisine.

Nice rustic restaurant with a cool beer garden, but sometimes completely overcrowded and you have to wait a long time, even for drinks.

The service wasn't particularly friendly, the Kaiserschmarrn (smothered pancake) tasted absolutely nothing, the fried potatoes were very greasy, and the onions were burnt. The salad was too expensive for almost nothing but green leaves. The soup was okay, as was the chicken.

I left the restaurant due to the poor service. It was not possible to get an alcohol-free shandy in this restaurant. So we didn't order any food.

Every time I'm there, it has to be the Kaiserschmarrn🤤 There are fewer vegetarian dishes on the menu, but they are happy to adapt it if requested. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The kitchen is more than worth its price 😌

Had Kasspotzn and a Haxn, both excellent!!! As it should be, Kasspotzn with a swivel onion! Haxn cleanly seasoned, excellent crust. If it stays that way, then gladly again and again.

We discovered this inn two years ago by chance and ate the delicious goulash soup on our first visit, which led to us eating the delicious soup there as a mandatory program when we were in Oberstaufen.

The shop is always packed on Sundays for breakfast, but you can also eat well here during the week

We were there for early morning shopping with live music. Entry cost 9 euros per person. The atmosphere was good and the service was also very friendly and quick. The food was an absolute failure. We had veal schnitzel and cheese spaetzle. In my opinion, convenience food, definitely the veal schnitzels. They were the worst veal schnitzels I have ever eaten and for just under 28 euros. My friend had the cheese spaetzle and said we'd better make it ourselves again soon. A place to celebrate well but not to eat.

Die Hütte bietet eine gemütliche Atmosphäre, obwohl man merkt, dass der Massentourismus dort deutlich seine Spuren hinterlassen hat und das ursprüngliche Flair verloren ging. Das Essen ist gut und wird in gerade noch so akzeptabelen Portionen serviert, auch wenn es nicht ganz dem traditionellen bayerischen Standard entspricht. Die Lage ist an einer relativ ruhigen Durchgangsstraße. Alles in allem ist es ein netter Ort, um eine Pause einzulegen, auch wenn man sich etwas mehr bayerische Authentizität wünschen würde.

Bacon dumplings with chanterelles were good, Knuckle with coleslaw, well no mustard was served cold, it was edible, Wiener Schnitzel for €27.5 was a complete disgrace, three pieces of meat fried and completely dry. The two waitresses in the beer garden were nice, but completely overwhelmed by the many guests. For this price there is better service and better food in Oberstaufen.

Friendly staff, flexible cuisine, atmospheric band. We liked it a lot 🍻 A little more staff with a full house would be beneficial for everyone.

Very quaint and legendary. A MUST in Oberstaufen.

The beer garden has a large parking lot and was therefore a good opportunity for us to stop here as we continued our journey. The wooden benches invite you to linger. The food was picked up and served quickly. The food was well seasoned and tasty. Unfortunately, the service lacked the warmth that would make you feel comfortable here.

Yes reservation 4 weeks ago doesn't do much 16 registered 12 would have had space next to each other had to go to a table further away Admission: Officially 9 euros 20 euros on site We paid 176 euros more.

The beer garden was empty and we waited forever for our order. Not worth it for this high price.

Very great barn with a great ambience! We had reserved as a precaution because we came relatively spontaneously with 14 people. Service as well as the interior decoration were perfect. The food was very tasty! The children really enjoyed the onion roast, knuckles, cheese pätzle and the nuggets with fries! We would love to come back! Many thanks to the team!!!

Especially if you are an expert, you understand mistakes that can happen in a hurry if you own up to your mistakes and show your appreciation. But make the guest wait 1 hour for his food, despite asking, then quickly mix something together that is out of the ordinary (totally salty/dry/hair on the lighter) and then charge the full price. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all.

Great economy below Oberstaufen. Rustically furnished with an open fireplace. Everything was very family friendly and authentic. The food and drinks were delicious, so we stopped by more often during our vacation. Important: don't dress too warmly... the economy is well heated.

We went on a family trip and went there to eat, we haven't eaten as well as we did there in a long time! Big compliments to the kitchen! Service was really accommodating too!

Wir waren heute dort zum Essen und sind doch etwas enttäuscht. Ich hatte ein halbes Händl bestellt und bekam nicht sehr schmackhafte Chicken Crossies! Einige ältere Herren gröhlten aus vollem Hals ihr Liedgut. Nicht besonders angenehm!

Herr Geschäftsführer Lang, ich zähle mich zu den Schmetterlingen weil ich im Vergleich mit Ihnen deutlich mehr Sympathien geniessen kann? Wer hier ein Teufel ist, lasse ich mal unbeantwortet. Ihre Beleidigungen sollten jedem zu denken geben. Beschreiben Sie doch aus Ihrer Sicht mal den damaligen Eklat und die Rolle Ihres Mitarbeiters, meinetwegen auch hier ganz öffentlich. Mann muss aber sagen das die eigentlichen Pächter der Enzianhütte, Herr und Frau Schiebel, eine sehr schöne Hütte mit toller Athmosphäre geschaffen bzw. weiterentwickelt haben die man weiter empfehlen könnte wenn sie nicht wären.

Waren nach der Viehscheid noch was trinken, mussten ewig warten da es nur ein kleiner Verkaufstand im Innenhof gab. Für das es bekannt war das Viehscheid ist und es so toll sei waren wir etwas enttäuscht das nix ging.

Ein schönes und freundliches Erlebnis. Sehr freundliches Personal, Almhütte Feeling, sehr gutes Essen und eine insgesamt schöne Atmosphäre.

Haben hier bei Wurstsalat, kässpätzle und Pfifferlinge mit Semmelknödel einen schönen Abend verbracht. Die Bedingungen sind auch sehr freundlich.

Hier herrscht eine super angenehme Stimmung: ich fühle mich als Gast richtig willkommen und ehrlich umsorgt! Das Klima unter dem Personal ist sehr gut - freundlich und nicht gestresst. Das macht einen entspannten, aber auch geselligen Besuch sehr empfehlenswert! Ach ja, das Essen war auch richtig lecker!

Erg gezellig! Vooral op zondag met de live-muziek. Alleen erg jammer dat we entree moesten betalen, terwijl de artiest nog maar een half uur optrad.

War heute zum 3x zum essen da. Bis jetzt war alles I. O. Heute habe ich mir eine steinpilzsuppe bestellt. Sie war frisch von knorr oder von wem auch immer. Auf jeden Fall nicht frisch. Kein Geschmack. Gott sei dank habe ich nur ein paar loeffel gegessen, denn ich musste sie Mutter Natur zurueck geben. Ich gehe da sicher nicht mehr hin.

Ich gebe mal alle Sterne, obwohl ich dort nicht gegessen habe. Sehr freundliches und insbesondere tierfreundliches Lokal.

Gemütliches Lokal im Stil einer Hütte. Fällt schon von der Strasse auf. Toller Biergarten, der sich wie bei uns bei einem heftigen Sommergewitter überdachen lässt. Trotz hochsommerlichen Andrangs nettes Personal und schnelle Bedienung. Gemütlich und empfehlenswert!

Für den Preis hätten wir mehr erwartet. Da wir den ganzen Tag nichts gegessen hatten, dachten wir bei den ersten paar Bissen noch, dass das Essen richtig gut sei. Doch als sich der Bärenhunger legte schmeckte man, dass sowohl das Cordon Bleu als auch die Pommes in altem Fert ausgebacken wurden. Der Salat war ok, nichts besonderes, allerdings hätte er mehr Dressing vertragen können. Das Fleisch von meinem Mann war zäh und die Kohlensäure in der Cola hat gänzlich gefehlt. Nur die Bratkartoffeln waren wirklich lecker. Der Service war leider auch nicht der Hit. Der Kellner konnte sich nichts merken und hat sich dennoch nichts notiert. An jeden Tisch musste er mindestens 1-2 Mal erneut nachfragen, was die Gäste wollten. Der Chef (zumindest mutmaßen wir, dass es der Chef war), ging zielstrebig auf die 3 Stammgäste im Raum zu, sprach mit ihnen und fragte ob alles in Ordnung sei. Wir restlichen Gäste wurden ignoriert. Vielleicht ist es nur bei Stammgästen wichtig ob es passt. Da das Restaurant voll war, wurden weitere Gäste einfach an die Tische mit dazugesetzt. Prinzipiell ist das ja nicht schlimm, dennoch sollte man doch davor die Personen, die bereits an den Tischen sitzen und essen, fragen ob es für sie ok ist. Wir würden nicht nochmal hingehen.

Da war die Lust auf dieses Getränk vergangen, auch weil der Kellner äußerst unfreundlich auf diesen Umstand reagiert hatte und richtig pampig wurde. Danke nein, nicht wieder.
