If you want to dine with the most magnificent view of the water, this is the place for you. The service was very attentive, and our apple strudel was delicious. Sure, the restaurant is quite expensive, but for us it was a fantastic experience.

We celebrated our wedding here with our guests and are very happy with our decision. The food was fantastic, the service attentive and friendly. All special requests (vegan, vegetarian, allergies, small children) were accommodated. Highly recommended!

It has the potential to become a truly trendy hangout, but unfortunately, the online reservation policy leads to empty tables! I was only able to book for 5 p.m. on a Saturday evening, and we were there for dinner with four people. We were still there at 7 p.m., and 60% of the tables were empty. You get the impression that the staff, above all, just wanted to get home early and not have to work too hard. The bar was empty... What a shame! Reservations are only possible with a meal. I think there are other ways to get this wonderful place up and running.

We celebrated our registry office ceremony there, and it was absolutely beautiful. The ambiance was outstanding, the staff was incredibly friendly, and everything was very straightforward, with excellent communication beforehand. They were very attentive and executed everything wonderfully. The food was fantastic, too! Thank you so much!

A very nice restaurant. The service is very fast and good. We got our food quickly, and it was very good. We both had a dish with pepper mushrooms, which were also plentiful. Even though it's a bit on the expensive side, the price is justifiable. The portions are adequate and filling. It was just a bit warm in the restaurant.

Great place; there are certainly not many other locations in Potsdam where you can sit so comfortably. The service staff was superb. We only had wine this time, but next time we'll try the food; the menu looks promising.

For me and my family, Kongsnaes has been a firmly established tradition for the past few years. The wine, the food, the view, and the service are all enjoyable and always a wonderful memory of the summer. Unfortunately, the menu seems to have been reduced; perhaps the chef has changed? And this year, there were no sparklers with our meals. Minor things, but of course, we still enjoy going there.

A very beautifully located location that unfortunately promises more than it delivers. At the peak of coffee time, only desserts are offered instead of cake or tart. When we were served desserts, we were immediately informed that the ice cream had unfortunately melted a little due to the temperatures in the kitchen... The chocolate hazelnut cake with a melted center, ice cream, and fresh summer berries turned out to be ONE small halved strawberry!!! All for the hefty price of 12 euros!!! And the center wasn't melted either, it was baked through. The lemon sour cream tart, priced at 11.50 euros, completely missed out on the advertised berry ragout... In response to the purely rhetorical question of "was everything okay?", I cautiously replied that we had missed the berry ragout and the summer berries. This unexpectedly honest answer obviously unsettled the waitress; there was neither regret nor an apology. A concession on the price seemed out of the question, either. Card payments at the table are also not possible; this is rarely the case even in simple restaurants these days. The bottom line is, "more show than substance"; the guest is certainly not king here. Paying over €30 for this service is completely overpriced, so for once I at least forwent the customary tip!

We were able to visit this lovely location for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the zander was a bit bland and underseasoned. The braised cucumbers, on the other hand, were delicious. The price/performance ratio isn't great!

Me: Hello. Is this table still free? Waiter: NO! I can't say whether that was true, because there was no reserved sign, but they could have said it more politely. Okay, another table. Next, the menus were slammed down on the table without a greeting, while someone chatted with guests at the next table, and then we were ignored for 15 minutes. Both by the taciturn waiter and by a waitress who walked past our table several times. When we left the establishment after more than 15 minutes without being able to place an order, we were met with the same silent ignorance we had been treated with before. Sorry, but at €5 for a 0.33l bottle of non-alcoholic beer, I expect better service.

I was in the mood for a nice salad with some large shrimp. I chose this lovely restaurant for that. The prices are very ambitious – the salad costs around €15 + €16 for the shrimp. It came with a bottle of water and a glass of white wine. A total of around €53. The experience was unfortunately mediocre. The grilled tomatoes were cold and lacked any roasted flavor. The crunch was simply peanuts. The lettuce unfortunately had wilted leaves. Two small slices of bread. The dressing was unremarkable. The prawns were thawed and warmed – good frozen quality. The wine was nice and cold and perfectly poured. Unfortunately, service was sparse. It was missing pepper and salt. I enhanced the dish with some butter and bread. A beautiful day by the water, so no complaints from me. I think it could be better.

I have been to this beautiful restaurant on Jungfernsee several times at different times of the year. The food is excellent, the ambience is exceptional and the service is very friendly and attentive.

Bevor ich mich entschloß, meine Eindrücke niederzuschreiben, las ich die letzte Bewertung von Alf/Mai 20225 und mir wurde klar, ich bin mit meinem "Leid" nicht allein und treffender als er, kann ich das Kongsnaes auch nicht bewerten. Er hat es auf den Punkt gebraccht: Die Location ist einzigartig am See gelegen, der Service einfach nur da, die Cocktails waren lieb- und einfallslos angerichtet und das Essen hatte den Charme und den Geschmack von Tellergerichten aus einer schlecht geführten Betriebskantine. Wir hatten übrigens Zander und Entrecote. Fade und völlig überteuert. Möchte man mit Karte zahlen, muß man sich am Tresen anstellen und ist dem "Charme" der dortigen Mitarbeiterin ausgeliefert. An WLAN-ec-Geräten ist man offensichtlich nicht ibteressiert. Es geht doch auch so. Und solange der Laden so gut läuft, hat der Owner wohl keine Veranlassung, sein "Konzept" zu verändern. Erstaunlich ist auch, daß es nirgendwo zu einer Bewertung ein Feedback der Geschäftsleitiung gibt. Vielleicht liest auch niemend die Bewertungen... Wozu auch! Macht einfach weiter - ohne uns.

After a long period of decay, the imperial sailors' station was renovated and an absolutely ugly functional extension was added. A real shame; the former German Emperor would turn in his grave if he knew what had been done here. The Kongsnæs Sailors' Station in Potsdam, at Schwanenallee 7, is a former landing stage for the Prussian royal family's watercraft, which were used for pleasure cruises on the Havel River. The site is located on the Jungfernsee, in the northern suburbs of Berlin, between the Neuer Garten and the Glienicker Bridge. Commissioned by Wilhelm II, between 1891 and 1895, a building complex in the Norwegian dragon style was built according to plans by the architect Holm Hansen Munthe. It included a reception pavilion, the so-called Ventehalle, boathouses, and three residential buildings for the service personnel. After the First World War, Kongsnæs remained in the possession of the House of Hohenzollern and was leased to the Imperial Yacht Club (KYC) in Kiel. At the end of the Second World War, the reception hall, the long shed for the imperial steam yacht "Alexandria," and a free-standing archway burned down. Of the historic, now listed complex, only the hall foundations, the bastion-like embankment wall, and the inland residential buildings remain. The embankment barrier built along Schwanenallee during the construction of the Berlin Wall divided the property in half, making the seaward area inaccessible to the public for decades. Only the houses continued to be used for residential purposes. After the political changes of 1989/90, the "Kongsnæs Friends Association" campaigned for the reconstruction and renovation of the existing buildings. At the beginning of 2009, Berlin-based entrepreneur Michael Linckersdorff acquired the property from the city of Potsdam with the goal of renovating the three remaining buildings in accordance with historic preservation regulations, rebuilding the Kongsnæs Reception Hall, restoring the harbor facilities, and, in addition, largely maintaining public access to the site. Since the opening of the rebuilt Ventehalle, a restaurant has operated there.

Das KONGSNÆS in Potsdam – einst kaiserliche Matrosenstation, heute eine der schönsten Lagen am Jungfernsee – ist architektonisch ein echtes Juwel. Wer diesen erst vor wenigen Jahren wieder aufgebauten Ort betritt, hofft auf ein gastronomisches Erlebnis, das der historischen Bedeutung und landschaftlichen Schönheit gerecht wird. Doch was man geboten bekommt, ist nichts als eine kulinarische Enttäuschung. Die Speisekarte ist erschütternd einfallslos. Kein Konzept, keine kulinarische Handschrift, keine regionale Verwurzelung – stattdessen herrscht gepflegte Beliebigkeit, wie man sie von Bahnhofsbistros kennt. Die Gerichte wirken ideenlos zusammengestellt, die Qualität der Speisen hinkt den durchweg überhöhten Preisen deutlich hinterher. Ein Beispiel? Die „Bouillabaisse“, die mir serviert wurde, hatte weder Tiefe noch Charakter – geschmacklich erinnerte sie eher an eine Fischsuppe aus der Krankenhauskantine. Vom erwarteten kräftigen Fischsud, aromatischer Knoblauchnote, Gemüsestreifen, Meeresfrüchten oder tiefroter Farbe: keine Spur. Dafür blass, flach, fad. Der Hauptgang – ein Filet vom Narvik-Lachs mit Spargel – war ebenfalls missraten. Obwohl ausdrücklich medium-raw bestellt, kam der Fisch durchgebraten und trocken auf den Teller. Kulinarische Präzision? Fehlanzeige. Krönender Tiefpunkt war jedoch der Besuch am 30.05.2025: Ich wollte zwei auswärtigen Gästen die Terrasse am Jungfernsee zeigen – bei strahlendem Sonnenschein, blauem Himmel und sommerlichen Temperaturen. Der gesamte Außenbereich war leer. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns jedoch der Zugang verwehrt – mit der absurder Erklärung, „wegen schlechten Wetters“ sei die Terrasse heute nicht geöffnet. Ein schlechter Scherz? Nein – das ist offenbar das Verständnis von Gastfreundschaft im KONGSNÆS. Und damit zum Grundproblem: Betreiber dieses kulinarischen Stillstands ist einmal mehr Josef Laggner – ein aus Österreich stammender gelernter Kellner, der sich mit seinen Restaurants in Berlin und Potsdam eine Gastronomie-Landschaft zurechtgezimmert hat, die weder Rücksicht auf lokale Identität noch auf historische Verantwortung nimmt. Vielleicht liegt das Problem tiefer: Herr Laggner scheint – wie schon an anderen geschichtsträchtigen Orten – schlichtweg durch mangelnde Bildung limitiert zu sein. Und das ist gerade hier, wo Geschichte und Schönheit Hand in Hand gehen, schlichtweg untragbar. Fazit: KONGSNÆS ist ein Paradebeispiel dafür, wie man einen Ort mit Strahlkraft gastronomisch entkernen kann. Wer hier ein echtes Erlebnis erwartet, wird bitter enttäuscht. Ich jedenfalls werde diesen Ort nicht wieder aufsuchen – nicht zur Kaffeezeit, nicht zum Mittag- und ganz sicher nicht zum Abendessen.

Oh, wonderful... With a cool Riesling sparkling wine and a crispy pike-perch on the Havel, served attentively and charmingly, you can listen to the waves lapping. A spectacular view stretches from the Glienicke Bridge over the Sacrow Church of the Redeemer to the New Garden. Not only a gastronomic highlight with impeccable service, but also a place to let go and immerse yourself in the beauty of water and nature.

A super nice restaurant. Unfortunately, we caught it on a rainy day; the terrace would certainly be a dream in good weather. But inside, you can also sit right by the large panoramic windows with a view of the water. The staff was very polite and accommodating; jackets and umbrellas were taken away immediately. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. A small downside: my vegetables were unfortunately only lukewarm, but everything else was warm. The dessert was also very tasty.

Great ambiance with a wonderful view of the lake. The menu is pleasantly concise. We had scampi and Wiener schnitzel. The portions were generous. The scampi were cooked to perfection but unfortunately very, very salty. Instead of the alioli on the menu, they served garlic mayonnaise, which was also delicious. This restaurant is overrated. The table was reserved three weeks in advance and had to be set upon arrival. Due to a supposed menu change the next day, three or four dishes were unavailable. Alternatives were mentioned, but still a weak approach. The appetizers (4 out of 5) were served an hour after arrival and only upon request. One appetizer was forgotten and served after another 15 minutes. A total of three waiters were involved in this process. The appetizers were nicely arranged and tasty, although I wasn't convinced by the quality of my steak tartare. My appetizer wasn't charged either. My daughter didn't want an appetizer and asked for bread and dip/butter. It was served, but it costs €3.00 in this restaurant? Five people who order appetizers and main courses have to pay separately for bread? The main course was truly disappointing. The pasta (frutti di mare/porcini mushrooms) was cooked soggy. My fried porcini mushrooms with corn-fed chicken were also overcooked. The porcini mushrooms were indefinably overcooked and bland in flavor; the corn-fed chicken was as cooked as a shoe sole. The potato side dish was quite close to its name and tasted like it: wrinkled potatoes. Drink service only worked upon request. Empty glasses and bottles were not cleared away, and consumed drinks were not offered again without request. Conclusion: The service team at this restaurant is disorganized and completely overwhelmed, but at least they are quite friendly in their interactions with guests. Culinary-wise, the whole thing is a disappointment and does not justify the high prices. The menu design is poor, the cooking principles leave much to be desired, and the presentation of the dishes can best be described as rustic. The restaurant's location and the view over the Havel River are fantastic, but perhaps you should eat elsewhere.

I had dinner at Kongsnæs with my family a few days ago and it was damn good. The young chef served us and what can I say: in terms of taste it was a highlight and visually it was also a feast for the eyes. We would love to come back! 🤗

Yes, we really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. Nevertheless, I only give it 4.5 stars because it is a bit difficult to get to the restaurant if you are not very good on foot. There is no parking space. But that's not a problem with a bike and the view and the hospitality make up for it.

Thank you for the lovely stay yesterday for the diamond wedding. The four of us were very enthusiastic about the 3-course menu... lovingly prepared, with fresh bread and quark... very tasty... Our table was lovingly set... with white chair covers and dear Jeannette was so lovely to us... really great service and the menu cards were a dream... very sweetly created. Thank you for your commitment... for the good cuisine and the great service... we'll be back... and the view over Lake Jungfernsee makes this place fantastic...

The food is simply a disaster. Outdated, overpriced food: carelessly prepared, poorly seasoned, lukewarm, the fish dry, the vegetables bland, tasteless mush as a side dish. Terrible. A total of almost €80 is due for the starter, main course and dessert. These are prices for fine dining. Then the quality has to be right. Unfortunately, the food itself is reminiscent of a canteen. Terrible. The poor fish, the poor deer. The poor waiter who has to listen to the guests' reviews. I'm so angry that we paid so much money for such horrible food. It's audacious to set such high prices for this food. Many thanks and great respect to the great waiter who took note of our criticism. He was very professional.

The location and the rooms are simply great!! Service available, seems overwhelmed! The food lacked EVERYTHING - unimaginative and lukewarm, e.g the goose was burnt and dry like the Kalahari. Normalerweise eines unser Lieblingsrestaurants. Das Essen und der Service war wie gewohnt gut. Leider zeigte sich eine fehlende Flexibilität bei der Bezahlung. Wir hatten von Freunden einen Gutschein geschenkt bekommen. Wir haben diesen nicht vollständig verbraucht und wollten den Restbetrag i.H.v. 30,50 Euro als Folgegutschein erhalten. Hier weigerte sich die Serviceangestellte und meinte, dass der Betrag leider verfallen würde. Wir haben dann noch eine Flasche Wein außer Haus gekauft, aber wir waren schon ziemlich verärgert. Ein freundliches Schreiben an die Geschäftsleitung mit dem Hinweis, dass so etwas nach unserer Meinung nicht angemessen für das hochpreisige Restaurant sei, blieb bis heute unbeantwortet. Wir sind enttäuscht und werden ersteinmal mit dem Besuch dort pausieren.

We were incredibly satisfied. The service was absolutely great 👍 and we can only rave about the food. Tagliatelle with mushrooms 🍄 were absolutely amazing 🤤 my husband had the duck breast with truffled mashed potatoes and mushrooms 🍄 and he was absolutely thrilled too. At the end we each had a dessert 💕 pistachio creme brulee and I fresh strawberries with candy vanilla ice cream 🤤❤️ an absolute taste orgasm 🤣 we will definitely be back 💕 thank you for this experience 🙏

Unfortunately not recommended. We arrived at 6 p.m. on a sunny Saturday and were refused a seat on the terrace on the grounds that it had rained in the morning. Apparently there was no need to receive guests there, even though the restaurant was almost empty. A pity.

The ambience by the water and the Norwegian flair is certainly something special. Unfortunately, this doesn't continue in the kitchen. The bouillabaise was okay, but the red snapper was in the pan too long, the pak choy was drowning in oil and the sauce was thick. Not okay at all for over 30 euros. We always had to call the waitress because she didn't really care about us. Conclusion: We wanted to discover a new local restaurant for ourselves in Potsdam, Kongsnäes is definitely not going to be it.

We went here for coffee. It's great to sit by the water, but unfortunately the espresso and cappuccino weren't good (no crema, thin foam, tasted accordingly). I would advise against coffee, but it is worth recommending for beer and wine due to the location.

We had been planning to go there for a long time - it surpassed everything!!! The very nice, courteous (but not exaggerated) reception was already worth a star!! Great ambience (on the water) and beautiful interior design. I was very surprised by the food and the wine list (I've seen many one and two star restaurants inside) - okay, given the high prices you can assume that. Super nice table service - top food! More appearance than reality: just 3 examples - As is usual in Italy, I expect an espresso to be a strong, black drink with lots of aromas and not like a 3/4-filled espresso cup with a stronger coffee and the price of €3.50 is already beyond the pain threshold. - In a restaurant of this price range, the floor must be cleaned of the crumbs from the last few days. - The toilets were not maintained. These are points of criticism that the view cannot make up for. We won't be coming back. Appendix NZZ from April 19, 2024: “Strong, aromatic, hot, digestible, low acidity. They are fulfilled more regularly at every Italian motorway service station than in local establishments.”

Ich mach es es kurz: - Die Lage, wenn man draußen am Wasser mit Blick auf den Jungfernsee, das Casino im Schlosspark von Klein-Glienicke und über den See auf die Sacrower Heilandskirche blicken kann, der Wind leicht wehr, die Sonne scheint, die Motorboote und Segelyachten kreuzen...einfach unbeschreiblich schön. Ebenso unbeschreiblich und einmalig finden wir das wieder aufgebaute Haus aus der Kaiser Zeit, ein Yacht Club Haus im norwegischen Holzhausstil. Toll. Das Essen ist ganz passabel, aber viel zu teuer und es ärgert mich, dass an diesem phantastischen Ort schon wieder dieser Österreicher, Herr Josef Laggner, und seine Laggner Gruppe zum Zug gekommen ist! Dieser österreichische Einwanderer bringt es fertig, auch an einem Ort wie dem Krongut Bornstedt doch tatsächlich nur bayerische und österreichische Küche anzubieten. Er scheint eine Abneigung gegen Preußen und das preußische Essen zu hegen und die Potsdamer und deren zahlreiche touristische Besucher "umerziehen" zu wollen. Obatzter, Backhenderl, bayerischer Schweinsbraten usw., aber "Königsberger Klopse", knusprige Brandenburger Ofen-Ente mit Kartoffelklößen und Rotkohl, preußische Kartoffelsuppe, Matjesfilets mit Bratkartoffeln und Schmand, Havelzander, usw. Fehlanzeige. Das wäre so, als würde ich am Schloss Schönbrunn (Wien) nur Königsberger Klopse, Berliner Eisbein usw. anbieten. Wer Taktgefühl, Bildung und Größe hat, würde das natürlich nicht tun. Dem undankbaren Emporkömmling aus Österreich jede top Lage zu verschaffen, finde ich langsam wirklich ärgerlich. Für mich ein Grund, das tolle "Kongsnaes" weitestgehend zu meiden. Warum betreibt dieses preußische Top Lokal nicht Tim Raue!

Ein Kleinod direkt am See. Wunderbar restauriert. Mit kleiner aber feiner Karte. Im Sommer mit schöner Aussenterrasse. Einziges Manko. Es gibt keine Parkplätze. Man muss irgendwo im Wohngebiet eine Lücke finden.

Historic building in a beautiful location right on the water, with a boat dock, good food and drinks, nice service. The bouillabaisse tasted excellent.

Beautiful evening with a view of the water and a delicious 4-course menu. Selected specialties from the forest and water and at the end a delicious platter of sweet treats. Excellent warm service.

Das Lokal hat eine sehr angenehme und ruhige Atmosphäre und sehr fähiges Personal. Meine Frau und ich waren super zufrieden mit dem Essen. Angesichts unseres Jahrestags hat das Personal alles möglich gemacht was möglich war.

A really great restaurant, located directly on the Holy Lake. The ambience is impressive, very high rooms and lots of wood. The service was very attentive and friendly and the food was fantastic. You can still cook here, but unfortunately that's becoming increasingly rare. The bouillabaisse and the turbot were a poem! The prices are high, but the quality is definitely worth it.

Great service, the atmosphere was very nice, and the pulpo as a starter was also excellent. We will be back.

Entlang Schwanenallee Potsdam. Wanderung am Wasser entlang mit historischen Gebäuden, bis zum Schloss Belvedere. Sehr schön.
