Tolle Typen, super nette Unterhaltung. Wir hatten den Surf&Turf Burger und den Cheeseburger, mit Salat und Pommes. Die Burger waren fantastisch und auf den Punkt Medium, dazu eine leckere Soße, der Salat war sehr geschmackvoll. Dazu noch ein paar schöne Craftbeer gestrunken, es war alles rundum perfekt. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Burger & Kartoffelauflauf sehr gut 👍 aber man muss schon viel Hunger haben😮‍💨 (leider nicht geschafft)

Stilvoll und Top-Qualität. Der Chickenburger war der Hammer. Die Chips sind mal was anderes, wenn man keine Pommes mehr sehen kann.

Burger wirklich sehr mäßig und unterdurchschnittlich. Coleslaw fettig und mit zuviel Sahne. Service war ziemlich schnell, der Laden war allerdings auch sehr leer. Für mich bislang der schlechteste Burger in Rüttenscheid. Ich komme nicht wieder…

Die Burger und vor allem die Salate sind sooo lecker. Wir kommen regelmäßig und kann es nur empfehlen. Super nette Mitarbeiter und schönes und gemütliches Restaurant

Wir haben erst ca. 20 Minuten gewartet, bis überhaupt jemand zu uns kam. Der Umgang war von Anfang an herablassend und passiv-aggressiv. Auffällig war auch, dass dort scheinbar nur bestimmte Leute willkommen sind – wir haben uns jedenfalls extrem unwohl und ausgegrenzt gefühlt. Als ich normal nach dem Getränk „AI Tea“ gefragt habe, wurde mir nur genervt mehrfach „Ice Tea“ entgegnet, statt einfach die Frage zu beantworten. Auf die Frage, ob das Getränk süß ist, kam ebenfalls nur eine abwertende Antwort. Nachdem ein Freund ruhig meinte, dass der Ton unnötig aggressiv war, wurde uns direkt unterstellt, Stress machen zu wollen, und wir wurden rausgeschickt. Sehr respektloser Umgang mit Gästen. Für uns wirkte das Ganze diskriminierend und arrogant. Keine Empfehlung.

Bester Laden in Town!!! Ohne Reservierung bin ich im proppenvollen Laden herzlichst empfangen worden und es wurde sich mit köstlichem Essen toll um mich gekümmert! So geht Gastfreundschaft! Vielen Dank an das ganze Team!

Einer der besten Burger, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Restaurant bietet einige einzigartige Rezepte, und der Service war freundlich und schnell. Insgesamt war es ein tolles Erlebnis, und ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, wenn ich wieder in Essen bin.

Freundlicher Service, sehr leckere Burger. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gern wieder.

Super stylisches Burgerrestaurant in Essen. Perfekt passend in das Ruhrgebiet. Eine sehr ungewöhnliche urbane Auswahl an Burgern. Toller Service und sehr schnelle Lieferung des Essens. Zu den verschiedenen Biersorten wird man top betaten. Für Preise für das Essen ist absolut angemessen. Wer in Essen ist, sollte hier unbedingt mal reinschauen. Das einzig negative sind die übervollen Aschenbecher an der Straße vorm Restaurant.

Das Essen war gut, die Getränke in Ordnung – der Service war bis zum Bezahlen freundlich. Als kein Trinkgeld gegeben wurde, wurde der Kellner aggressiv und respektlos. Trinkgeld ist freiwillig, kein Anspruch. Es war inakzeptabel, den Beleg einfach auf den Tisch zu knallen und wegzugehen.

Gestern Abend spontan was gesucht und eine Top Location gefunden. Das Essen war Top. Burger und Falafel Burger wurden bestellt. Aber der Service war noch besser. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend. Es bediente Sie MOD....

Wir haben ein sehr leckeres RipEy Steak und durch ein glückliches Versehen ein super leckeres Rumpsteak auf Rucola und Parmesan Flocken gegessen 😋😋 Die Pommes Chips sind ein Gedicht mit einer tollen BBQ Sauce. Es war ein rundum gelungenes Essen in Essen ☺️☺️ Können wir nur empfehlen 👍👍

Fantastische Spare Ribs und Burger!

Ein echtes Highlight in Essen! Das KohleCraftwerk hat mich komplett überzeugt. Die Atmosphäre ist modern und gemütlich zugleich, das Team super freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke – alles frisch, liebevoll zubereitet und geschmacklich top. Man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Ob für ein entspanntes Treffen mit Freunden oder einen besonderen Abend: Ich komme definitiv wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

Ich war mit einem Kollegen im KohleCraftWerk essen und wir sind absolut zufrieden. Das Essen war wirklich lecker - ich hatte einen vegetarischen Burger, den ich klar weiterempfehlen kann. Die Mitarbeiter sind überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Trotz komplett ausgebuchtem Lokal wurden wir sehr gut bewirtet, und dass wir spontan überhaupt noch einen Platz bekommen haben, war alles andere als selbstverständlich. Unterm Strich ein rundum gelungener Abend. Wenn ich nochmal in der Gegend bin, komme ich sehr gerne wieder.

Super Service...lecker Bierchen

Ich will da nicht reingehen, weil es überall KI-Kunst gibt, es ist widerlich.

Auf Empfehlung unseres Hotels sind wir heute hier eingekehrt. Nach 6 Stunden Fahrt ohne Unterbrechung war der Hunger und auch der Durst groß. Der Service war perfekt, kurze Beratung zum Burgerangebot und dazu die tollen home made Fritten mit Majo. Die Burger waren geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und lecker. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, wir haben uns in diesem tollen Ambiente sehr willkommen gefühlt. Absolute Empfehlung, wir kommen gerne beim nächsten Besuch in der alten Heimat wieder vorbei.

We went with the Essen department. Everything was delicious and grilled to perfection. The service was outstanding. The staff are fantastic and make the visit a truly enjoyable experience.

The food was okay. The ambiance and location are great 👍🏼. Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied with the service. The female waitress was very nice and attentive. However, the male waiter (presumably the owner) was completely unservice-oriented. We've rarely experienced a more unfriendly restaurateur.

The best burgers we've ever eaten. Only in Australia, at Julias Creek, have we had similarly good burgers 🍔 Highly recommended! Keep it up! We live over 500km away and ended up at KohleCraftWerk by chance on our first visit. This time, we arrived an evening early on a business trip to the Ruhr area. It was worth it again. Reservations are highly recommended!

The burgers and especially the fries are absolutely delicious here. The selection of different beers drew me to the place, and it was well worth it. The atmosphere is lovely, unique, and full of detail. The service is first-class. They cater to your needs, and everyone always had a smile on their face.

Super cool burger joint. Great atmosphere and very friendly service. The burgers are amazing. A very good selection of burgers and buns. I recommend the "Kohlebun" (coal bun). We also had crispy sweet potato fries and various dips. We'd be happy to come back.

Great atmosphere, great food. Not exactly cheap, but worth it. The service is also great, though unfortunately there's only one server who busts her butt and has to serve all the tables. Maybe they should look for some relief and hire another server ;-)

Cool loft-style burger shop. Mega selection of different beers (craft, pale and Belgian double and tripple). Burgers are very tasty, here too you can choose between brioche or black charcoal bun. Service is always very nice and helpful

Exceptionally good! Do you love burgers? Are you into craft beer? For you, service with humor and a relaxed atmosphere is part of it? The shop is totally your thing and a must in Essen! Food: The burgers are awesome! Juicy, varied and full of flavor! (It's also available gluten-free upon request) The fries are exactly as they should be, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The matching dips further underline the quality. My personal favorite is the Jack Daniels Burger Drinks: As the name suggests, the focus is on craft beer and that is not neglected here. My personal favorite is the Pale Ale from Maisel & Friends Service: Big praise and thanks to Saber!! Humor, great recommendations if desired and a good sense of what suits you. A casual saying goes both ways if you're the type of person. With the right staff, the ambience is enhanced and Saber does that brilliantly! Ambiance: Fits the offer like a glove. What more can I say?! The KohlCraftWerk was once again a great decision the second time around. This will definitely be repeated the next time we visit Essen! ... Update: and that was it, now a must visit!

The burgers are delicious. The beer selection is yummy. The space is tastefully decorated. I could ignore the fact I got seated at the counter and had to wait for 40 minutes to even place my order. What makes me very disappointed is to see a senior member of staff yelling at a younger one, female, multiple times. I cannot be quiet in the face of abuse.

Dinner with colleagues, nice place, good atmosphere, very kond and helpful stuff. Delicious baby ribs. Good variety of beers. Only smell from kitchen can time to time bother you.

This was our third time visiting. The food tastes quite good. The prices are quite high. The service (operations manager, apparently the boss) was very unpleasant. Sarcastic sayings, derogations and lectures. After dinner we weren't asked for dessert or a drink (almost an hour). The waiter seemed overwhelmed, stressed and made an extremely arrogant impression. Too bad. We won't be visiting the restaurant again. I have never experienced this like this before!

Burgers are really really good!! Good ideas cleverly implemented. The charcoal bun, the burger sauces and mayonnaises. The beef is damn good!!! Great selection of crafts. The price...everything good in life has a catch, but the drinks are a bit high. Still a clear recommendation!!

If you order a spicy chicken burger because you don't want the crispy chicken breading, you shouldn't just be surprised, but you shouldn't even ask why it isn't included. No, you are indirectly portrayed as stupid because "it has probably never been accepted, nor has it ever been asked in 7 years." The food is okay, the taste is not a revelation, but the price-performance ratio is still just acceptable. Yes, you want to stand out, you can tell by the “interesting” burger creations. It's a shame that you only attract negative attention with your behavior towards paying customers. Please ask beforehand, otherwise you will get a bunch of comments. I was permanently alienated as a customer.

Cool location with a cozy atmosphere! The service was good! The burger was ok, but the potato gratin was great! The prices are rather too high because all side dishes and even the mayo or ketchup are charged additionally. It doesn't make sense to me when ordering fries... the dip is simply part of it!

A great restaurant with flair and super friendly service! We have been here five times now and always loved it! Special requests and special circumstances were always taken into account without hesitation. This is called service. The food was also every time excellent, although I always had the KWC burger (with Italian wine cheese)… absolutely recommended!!

We happened upon this great location while passing through yesterday evening and spontaneously ate there. We can recommend it without reservation 👍 Great and friendly team and, above all, super tasty, fresh food. We had the truffle burger with coleslaw salad and the spicy chicken burger with homemade fries. Some of the best burgers we have ever eaten. The taste was great, everything was fresh and the look was great too. Stop by if you're in the area.

Es werden einige Burger angeboten die nicht dem Mainstream entsprechen sondern sich deutlich nach oben orientieren. Auch die Beilagen sind sehr gelungen. Der Laden an sich ist eher dunkel mit einer schlichten aber gut abgestimmter Einrichtung. Der Betreiber ist schwer auf Zack und ein angenehmer Wirt

I’m giving 5 stars because I don’t want this to seem a revenge, but I had a very bad experience in this place. The night was busy and the place was full, as I went during the Spiel. I had to seat at the bar and to wait for quite a long time for my order. When I paid, I was asked if I was Italian. I thought it was for my accent: but apparently it was because I didn’t leave any tip. “The service is not included”, said the guy going away, without even looking at me. This left me with a lot of questions. Maybe if the service is not included it should be written somewhere, and possibly in English (the menu was only in German and I had to translate it with my phone). As far as I know, tips are always expected in the States, not in Germany: I sometimes give tips, if I’m very happy with the service, which was not the case. I work as a guide in Venice, so I’m quite familiar with this topic. I only receive tips from Americans, I never got a single one from a German: so why this racism about tips from a German towards an Italian? It makes no sense to me. But most of all: how on earth can you request a tip from a client that you have seated in am uncomfortable spot and that had to wait for ages for his order? It has happened to me a couple of times to REJECT tips because I thought I did not really earn them. Maybe I’m strange, but I felt so sad to be treated like this. I hope other visitors will be treated better.

Food was great, I had the peanut burger, the waiter had a great attitude and was nice. Would recommend if you feel like grabbing a tasty burger.

We were there for over an hour before our food arrived. We explained that we had to leave and asked them to box it up for takeout. When we went to pay, the manager rushed over to the woman who was giving us the credit card reader and entered a tip on the reader before handing it to us. I don’t usually write reviews, but I decided I needed to warn others.

TOP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very tasty burger, the meat is of excellent quality and is super juicy. It tastes and smells like a charcoal grill. The goat cheese salad was amazing and so was the potato gratin. Very nice, well-kept atmosphere and very friendly, personable service. Everything was very clean, hygienic and appetizing.

Really tasty burgers and nice staff. My partner and I went here twice, months apart, and the server (possibly owner?) remembered us which was really nice.

Really poor selection of beer and really rude and hostile staff. No wonder that the place was pretty much empty and that they closed earlier.

Terrific burgers and a great beer selection, including some nice Belgians. Why not 5 stars, then? Well, I arrived one evening recently at about 20:30, and even though their closing time was 21:00, the woman at the door working there told me that the till was closed and refused to even serve me a drink. There were still a half-dozen customers in the place, so this made no sense at all! Having worked as a bartender myself, I know that you never close the till until actual closing time and only after the last customer has paid.
