The service personal was really nice, the waiting time for the food is short. I ordered sushi, very nice. There's a lot of scaffolding at the moment which is a bit annoying.

Had the Inside Outs, they were really good. Also liked the strawberry lemonade they had as drink of the day. Only slight critique is the outside seating is on a busy street right next to a bus station so its not really quiet, but thats a very small critique.

The best sushi I've had in a long time! Very friendly and attentive service. We felt comfortable and welcome! We'll definitely stop by again on our next visit to Hamburg!

We discovered Kōgai by chance a few weeks ago and are absolutely thrilled. The sushi is incredibly delicious and, above all, affordable. We also had the homemade lemon soda 🤤 The space is designed for a small group, and that's precisely what makes it so charming 😊 We were there yesterday with friends from Saarland, and they also highly recommended it. The main road and the current construction site are the only drawbacks, but they've solved even that well. They've hung lanterns on the scaffolding, and it really enhances the outdoor area.

the food was mind blowing, every bite felt like heaven. the roles were garnished with teriyaki or sesam sauce which completed the dish. personally I am a picky eater but at Kogai I tried everything which never happens 😅 the service was fast and very friendly and I will definitely recommend to friends.

I arrived shortly before closing time and was greeted and served very warmly. The sushi was sensationally delicious, along with an Asian beer. It's small and intimate, with very friendly staff. I was asked several times if everything was to my satisfaction. I was, and I'd be happy to return. A two-minute walk from the Scandic Hotel.

Really delicious, fresh sushi! Definitely recommended! It was clean, but don't think of it as a fancy restaurant, more like a place where you can eat in if you don't take it with you.

Truly delicious sushi at a great price! The service was also incredibly friendly and attentive. I'd be happy to come back anytime. The only small downside: there's very limited seating. But if there's nothing available, you can always just take the sushi to go!

The door is constantly open when the outside temperature is 15 degrees Celsius, the sushi rice is completely overcooked and mushy, and the rolls are tiny – I don't understand where the good reviews come from. We won't be coming back.

Four of us ate sushi here, and we were all impressed! The maki were delicious, and the individual ingredients seemed to be of very high quality. The restaurant is very small, but charming and modernly decorated.

A great restaurant! Very nice staff - we were warmly welcomed and immediately given a “welcome” tea (which was very pleasant because it was quite cool outside). The food tasted excellent, everything was freshly prepared. We would come here again.

First and not last visit! Food was great (fresh), service was nice( waitress came 2x to ask if everything was good) and atmosphere was calm ( in a nice way, nice/ calm music and lovely interior. Before making an order they bring me a nice cup of tea, what was a nice compliment. Food was make really fast, less then 10 min.

Sushi jewel in Hamburg, the food was fantastic and super authentic. 100% recommend their Ebi Nigjri and anything with Eel! The place is small, and can get packed. But so worth it!

We were in the mood for Asian at the weekend. Luckily we found a place in the cute little shop. The three of us ordered sushi with chicken, a chicken bowl and the ramen. The former was great. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes flawless. Unfortunately I didn't like the ramen (my personal taste). So we shared everything else. The waitress was very sorry, she apologized several times. We even got another portion of sushi on the house! We didn't expect that at all. Highly recommended!!

The only criticism is that the food is actually too cheap. 8 makis cost 4.90 So two euros cheaper than Happy Sushi in the supermarket, but 100 times better.

I don't know what sushi tastes like here, but the bowl is rather boring. The staff doesn't seem to be particularly enthusiastic about their customers either.

The value for money of this place may be okay, but I didn't really like it. Too much rice and not enough fish. The rice wasn't particularly well prepared. I would give this place a 3. It wasn't terrible, but I didn't like the food at all. I wouldn't go there a second time.

It's a place where you can eat simple sushi, but it was a little disappointing that they didn't have udon. However, the miso soup had sesame oil in it and there was a lot of seaweed, so it was very delicious. I highly recommend miso soup.

Nice service and delicious bowls

We were 4 turists from Norway looking for a good sushi place in Hamburg. Based on Google reviews we chose this place, but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. All of us agreed that it was the most basic sushi we have tried, almost like the ones we make at home. The people there were very nice though and the fish was not very fresh.

It was also well prepared, but not particularly special. The price was reasonable and not exorbitant. The payment people who look after the guests do a really good job, even if there are still one or two problems with the language. But this is quickly dismissed and you feel in good hands at all times. Since there aren't a lot of seats, I found it all the more surprising that you can reserve, which I really welcome. A 3-seater, a 4-seater and (I think three) high tables are available. Although they are placed close together, which gives the whole small shop a certain charm. Even though it wasn't my absolute favorite, I'll happily go again when I'm nearby. I thought it was very good, Japanese minimalist. This is exactly how I imagine some restaurants in Japan. Sushi was very tasty, the service was very nice. The highlight was going to the toilet, I don't want to reveal anything more. Three small tables inside for eating and 4x bistro tables outside. Apparently it's enough since most people eat out.

This is already the second establishment in Hamburg that offers extremely tasty sushi. The interior is pleasant, although there is not much space. The service is pleasant and professional. Order submission is beautiful. The ingredients are delicious and fresh. The miso soup was also very tasty. I recommend!
