The food is okay, but nothing more. The mushroom sauce is very thick, and my husband thought the hollandaise was mayonnaise.

When we arrived, someone at the next table was smoking a cigar nonstop, massively spoiling the olfactory experience of our stay. Then the waiter came to our table, and when we asked about a dish, he gave us the unfriendly reply, "It's just dead fish." The only vegan item on the menu was a small mixed salad, which I specifically asked if it was really vegan. But when the salad arrived, it had honey mustard sauce on it... An annoyed waitress took the salad away and gave us a new one with so much vinegar that my lips turned pink. Also, an outrageous price for this mini bowl. We also left our cell phone inside to charge, which came back with less battery than before. Did they use our electricity? I've never experienced such unfriendly service and bad food. Never again! Absolutely not recommended!

Correct that I was allowed to charge my phone, but it wasn't tasty and it smelled bad.

Unfortunately, our experience today was not a good one. We were practically brushed off by a very unfriendly male employee, so we canceled our table, which we had reserved for later.

Friendly service and the delicious food arrived quickly. To finish, we each ordered a liqueur out of curiosity.

I'm an ambitious home cook, and we eat out a lot, and I can't remember the last time I ate such good fish. Everything was just right. The side dishes were perfectly matched. Amazing!

The food is freshly prepared and delicious. A special request was accommodated. The service's gruff tone took some getting used to; perhaps due to the rough seaside ambiance or simply a sailor's attitude. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Unfortunately, the fish fillet had a lot of bones and was very oily. The salmon fillet was very good. We didn't find the value for money satisfactory. The wait was long despite the restaurant not being full. The appetizer arrived at the table before the drinks. We wouldn't go there again, unfortunately.

There were five adults and two children. We had a reservation on Friday evening, which was probably necessary. The food arrived promptly and tasted good. The price-performance ratio was decent and probably appropriate for the location. The location is great. The staff were very friendly.

We've enjoyed our meals there for the past few years and enjoyed them. We had reserved a table online for 6 p.m. this evening and received confirmation via email, both from Google and from the restaurant itself. We arrived and there was nothing reserved, and we couldn't get a table. A family in front of us had exactly the same problem. If you offer something like this, it should work accordingly.

Friendliness seems to be a foreign word in this place. The way guests are treated is simply unacceptable. You're treated as if you're a nuisance. Zero respect, zero hospitality. Absolutely not recommended.

We had fish and meat dishes; everything was delicious and good, and everyone was full. The food is also worth the price. When I eat out at home, I pay the same in restaurants. Drinks, however, are slightly more expensive in comparison. All in all, I recommend it!

We had a lovely evening at Klabautermann. The four of us ordered a schnitzel platter for two and a fish platter for two. It was absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be back again. 😊

Unfortunately, I can only give the quality of the food one star. We ate at Klabautermann two years ago; back then, the portions were larger and the fish quality was significantly better. The cucumber salad was also completely acidic. The only advantage of Klabautermann is its great location right on the pier. But unfortunately, this restaurant no longer offers much more than that. We won't be back; the price-performance ratio doesn't match up here. What a shame!

Although it was almost closing time, the waitress was unfortunately not looking forward to it and was very expressive of her bad mood.

An absolute disaster! The waitress was completely overwhelmed, shouting incessantly and aggressively accusing guests and innocent passersby of doing things they demonstrably didn't do. They even went so far as to throw cutlery—completely disrespectful and dangerous! I've rarely felt so uncomfortable and couldn't enjoy my visit at all. Anyone who eats here can expect loud outbursts, poor service, and a toxic atmosphere. A disgrace for the restaurant industry—I strongly advise against it!

The fish soup was really good and the price was right. The salmon with cod and shrimp skewers on spinach with potatoes for €25 was standard in terms of taste, but the quantity was a bit small. But the seating was good, and somehow the beach promenade is often expensive.

At the end of our vacation, we ate at Klabautermann. We recommend reserving a table. The selection is extensive. We had fish. The food was delicious. The portions were huge. One star is deducted for the ready-made hollandaise sauce. You could easily make it yourself. One star is deducted for the service, as we sat for ages with empty plates and weren't asked for drinks in between. I have one more comment: It would be nice if they offered everything as a small (half) portion at a lower price.

The Klabautermann Restaurant in Grömitz is truly an excellent place for good food! The ambiance is very inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. As for the food, the quality is excellent. Whether it's the fish dishes, which are particularly fresh here, or other regional specialties – everything is lovingly prepared and tastes simply delicious. The service deserves special praise. The staff is always attentive, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive. You feel welcome and well looked after from the very first moment. The prices are absolutely fair and reflect the high quality. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Klabautermann Restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

The food arrived at the table within 10 minutes. It was more likely frozen or reheated. It wasn't convincing.

Review until June 2021: Very tasty food, friendly staff. Reservations are recommended, as it's usually busy. Our dog is also welcome. A MUST on every vacation. 5 stars. Addendum Fall 2021: Have the chef and staff changed? The food was lukewarm, the fried potatoes were soggy, and the waiters were more concerned with themselves than with looking after the guests. I can understand that "the air goes out" at the end of the season, but you can still be attentive. We definitely won't be back. Addendum May 2023: Food was okay. Portion too small for the price. Unfortunately, I wasn't full. The staff was friendly and attentive. Addendum June 2025: The food was tasty. The price was within the usual range, but the "fish box" didn't fill me up. The piece of salmon was only the size of a finger. I thought that was a disgrace. Since the staff seemed very stressed and hectic, I didn't say anything. Our reservation wasn't listed either, but we were lucky and other guests didn't show up, so we got their table. That shouldn't happen, though. We probably won't come back, as there are many other, much better restaurants. Even the front row on the promenade is no use.

The food was okay. Apparently, children aren't welcome here. The staff responded to our 3- and 4-year-olds' comments with a visibly annoyed, eye-rolling slur, so we probably won't be coming back.

Update May 2025: The Klabautermann is still highly recommended! We were there with nine people, and we all enjoyed our meal. Special requests were happily accommodated, and the service was friendly and prompt. We weren't disappointed this time either, and we'd love to come back! May 2023: Whenever we're in Grömitz, a meal at the Klabautermann is always a must. We've never been disappointed. The service is great and the food is amazing. The value for money is excellent. Very delicious food right on the promenade. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The service was friendly. It's also dog-friendly, which is something we always pay attention to.

Leider kann ich die guten Bewertungen nicht so übernehmen. Der Tisch, der uns zugewiesen wurde, lag im Eingangsbereich und war sehr kalt und zugig. Wir bekamen aber einen gemütlichen Tisch auf Nachfrage zugewiesen. Die Bedienung war recht unfreundlich und evtl. sogar überfordert. Das Essen von 4 Personen - alles unterschiedlich - war bei drei von uns schmackhaft. Einer Person wurde einfach - ohne vorherige Nachfrage - eine Abwandlung ihres bestellten Essens geliefert. Außerdem war es total versalzen. Was überhaut nicht geht , für ein Lokal in der ersten Reihe, das Essen wurde auf Plastiktellern angerichtet. Zur Bedienung nochmal: Tisch wurde nicht abgeräumt. Dann aber auch nur teilweise. Keine Nachfrage nach weiteren Getränken.

Wir waren mit der Familie ganz spontan dort. 5 ganz unterschiedliche Speisen bestellt und 5 mal „Wow“. Wir waren begeistert. Ob Fisch oder Fleisch: es war alles sehr schmackhaft und sehr gut portioniert. Wir können nur eine 100%-ige Empfehlung abgeben.

We were totally positively surprised! We would have expected a tourist rip-off on the promenade with a view of the Baltic Sea... Instead, friendly service, very good fresh fish and the best farmer's breakfast (Hoppel-Poppel) I've ever eaten! The dishes were wonderfully decorated and particularly presented. The ambience is classic maretim and very clean. We'll definitely be back!

Rating of the restaurant The restaurant has a very nice view and a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations. The service was extremely poor and there was a lack of positivity from the staff - no smiles, just grumpy faces. The food was somewhat acceptable, but the spaghetti was far too oily and not very tasty. An improvement in service and more attention to the quality of the food would be urgently needed.

Directly on the Grömitz beach promenade with a view of the sea. If you feel like it, take a walk straight after your meal across the Grömitz pier, which is basically right in front of it. We didn't eat a salad but it was quite tasty. Feels a bit too expensive but with a view. We'll be back to try other dishes too.

The restaurant is located directly on the promenade. Nice and friendly staff. Menu with sufficient selection. The dishes are tasty and have a good portion. Price/performance is absolutely fine. There is an outdoor seating area with a direct view of the Baltic Sea. You also have a beautiful view of the pier and the sea from the window seats inside. A table reservation is definitely recommended, as the restaurant is always busy, even in the off-season. Paid parking spaces nearby at the pier forecourt. Access is not barrier-free.

We've just returned from Grömitz and ate there twice, the food was really tasty, we had the Viking platter which we almost didn't manage to eat, the second time we had Pannfisch and the Robber's Pot, both great, plus very nice staff and everything went quickly... .was very full in Grömitz, which is why it makes sense to reserve...

Wow, what a small, fine restaurant in winter. We were with you on December 31st, with our dog. Prior reservation was necessary. The food was super tasty, great value for money. I only paid 5.10 euros for the beer (0.5l). Everywhere else in Boltenhagen where we ate, 6 euros each. That was already beyond pain. But we felt very comfortable with you! Keep it up!

Kudos to the chef - really good! Rarely have I eaten such food with this kind of love! BUT he deserves a better employer. Don't appreciate your boss who thinks he's special. The way he talks to you is very ridiculous. I'm 29 and make more than him and don't act like it. He's probably in a crisis because he's no longer sharp.

We wanted to drink mulled wine there at 7 p.m. today and said so at the entrance... then, despite free tables, we were not turned away very friendly with the information: "Drinking is only possible after 8 p.m." I definitely won't go there again and won't recommend it to anyone.. Were here again for a long time and also for the last time. The pan fish was very manageable 2 small pieces of fish and the salmon was also cooked too long. The bruschetta was swimming in a sauce. When we had finished the starter, the main course was already there, and after a short time the fried potatoes from the panfish were cold. In the case of the kale platter, the belly meat was just fat and the neck was sliced ​​quite thickly. It's a shame it used to be very good there.

Wir sind erst gar nicht herein gekommen.Wir haben uns vor der Tür die ausgehängte Speisekarte angesehen und wurden von dem äußerst unfreundlichem Personal dort weg geschickt.Es wäre ihr Laufweg....dort können wir nicht stehen....wir sollen woanders hingehen.....besten Dank.Das lassen wir uns nicht zweimal sagen und sind woanders Essen gegangen.Das haben wir nicht nötig.

For us the best restaurant in Grömitz so far. Vegetarians and vegans also get their money's worth. Fish and meat dishes also tasted good.

Come in once for a coffee and then again later for dinner. It looks very good, smells delicious and seems to be good value for money. The second visit was for dinner and everything was great. Delicious.

We were there today after a long day and were lucky to get the last available table. We were well served and the Viking platter for two people was a veritable feast, the grog was pleasantly stiff and the atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed.

There was space on the terrace. We were seen but ignored. Minutes passed. 12 minutes before service ended on the terrace, the waitress was no longer willing to serve us two beers. No regrets, no offer, feel free to come in. It's a shame, we're now taking our money somewhere else.

We recently visited the restaurant based on the good reviews and were unfortunately very disappointed. Although the food was attractively presented, the quality could not justify the high price. The mashed potatoes had only been warmed up in the microwave and were already dried out in some places. The service was quick, but rather cool. There was an allergen card, but when I asked a question about allergens I only got the unhelpful answer: "I'm not making the card." Overall, an average experience where the price-performance and service still have room for improvement. We wouldn't go there again.

The Klabautermann is a restaurant with great charm, a great ambience (view of the Baltic Sea) and very friendly service. The food tastes really good and the price/performance ratio is right here. I would recommend this restaurant at any time and would come here again.

The two of us sat down on the covered terrace with our sleeping baby in the stroller and were escorted out again after a few minutes with an unfriendly "I'm closing here, it's raining." Subsequent guests immediately received a seat cushion and the menu. To our astonished questions we repeatedly received the very impatient, unfriendly answer "I'm closing, it's raining". Apparently we weren't wanted. We certainly won't see this restaurant again either.

Today we were there for the first time. Ambience and service were solid, service was friendly, flair with a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. We took the Viking platter for two people and were pretty impressed with the mixture of cod plaice and salmon, with fried potatoes, spinach and vegetables in tomato sauce. As a little highlight, two shrimp skewers on top. With everything cleaned up, we were full. Conclusion 👍 and recommended. Happy to come back 😊.

I ordered Labskaus and it was so dry that it was already crumbly.

We had a great time when the concerts were on the beach. Went to Klabautermann every day. Just with the waitress Claudia, that was awesome. She was in a great mood, very nice and responded to the guests' wishes. We laughed a lot. Service like this should happen more often. Very open, funny and with a lot of heart. We are already looking forward to the end of August. And hope we see Claudia again!
