Kish Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

Our visit to Kish was unfortunately a huge disappointment... We had reserved a table for a birthday, so our expectations were quite high. We ordered a side dish platter and a large mixed grill for four people. The soup arrived relatively quickly and tasted good, but then we had to wait over an hour for the rest of the food. During this time, we asked two different waiters several times where our food was. Each time, we were simply given the runaround without any concrete information or solution. After about an hour, we finally approached the restaurant owner ourselves. His reaction was completely unacceptable in both tone and content: Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he started arguing and explained that it was "normal" to wait 30-40 minutes longer for a side dish order. Apart from the fact that a full hour had already passed, there was a complete lack of understanding of the situation and, above all, any form of responsibility or apology! The tables next to us each received their main course and dessert, which was a shame! Mistakes in the kitchen/service can happen. What absolutely shouldn't happen, however, is a restaurant owner who doesn't take guests seriously, doesn't apologize, and prefers arguing to providing service, especially on a birthday. For us, this evening was completely ruined by the service and the owner's attitude. We will not be returning and cannot recommend Kish in its current state.

By far the best restaurant in Frankfurt, with incredibly friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. Every dish is a masterpiece; I highly recommend a visit.

-100 points!!!!!!!! -100 points!!!!!!!! On January 4, 2026, we wanted to celebrate a birthday at Kish (Leipziger Str. 16A, 60487 Frankfurt am Main). I reserved a table for four people online. The online reservation process went smoothly, which is unfortunately the only positive thing I can say about this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted and led to a basement room. This room was completely overcrowded, the tables were extremely close together, so you practically had to squeeze through to reach your seat. The room had no windows, was very stuffy and hot, without any apparent air conditioning or adequate ventilation. Furthermore, I didn't see a clearly visible emergency exit plan or fire extinguisher, which, frankly, worried me. Shortly afterward, I went to the women's restroom. While I was washing my hands, a male employee barged into the women's restroom without knocking. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, disrespectful, and should never occur in a restaurant. Back at our table, we first had to wait for the menus. After ordering (a large platter for four people plus appetizers), we were served soup relatively quickly. The soup and drinks were fine. However, what was completely unacceptable was the service: All three servers we encountered were consistently unfriendly, without a greeting, without a smile, without an apology—simply disinterested. After the soup was cleared away, we waited over an hour for our main course. When we asked the waiter about it, there was no apology, only a curt mention that he would inform the kitchen. He then turned his back on us and spoke to other guests in Persian. These guests, who had arrived significantly later than us, had already received, eaten, and paid for their food while we continued to wait. After asking several times and still receiving no explanation or apology, I finally stated that we would leave if our food didn't arrive immediately. Only then did they react hastily. As we finally left the basement, the owner approached us. Instead of apologizing or showing understanding, he began arguing with us, explaining that large appetizers simply take time. This argument is incomprehensible, as other guests with identical orders were served significantly faster. I never felt welcome in this restaurant. Neither the staff nor the owner did. We were guests, but we were treated as if we were a nuisance. Instead of a pleasant birthday evening, we left annoyed and disappointed without eating. In conclusion: Service: unfriendly and disrespectful Organization: chaotic Waiting time: unacceptable Behavior of an employee in the ladies' restroom: absolutely unacceptable Owner's reaction: unreasonable and unprofessional I cannot recommend this restaurant in any way. It's a real shame, but I have never experienced such poor service before.

A very disappointing experience. We had a reservation for an 18th birthday party and waited over an hour for our food. Despite asking several times, the food never arrived, so we finally got up and left. The owner's behavior was particularly disappointing: no apology for the long wait, instead a very unprofessional and ridiculous attitude that is completely unbecoming of a manager. Completely unsuitable for a special occasion. We will definitely not be returning.

We chose this restaurant based on the many positive Google reviews; however, the experience did not meet our expectations. The food quality was below what we had hoped for, especially for those familiar with authentic Persian cuisine. Notably, Persian bread was not available. Mirza Ghasemi and Kashk-e Bademjan, which are among my favorite Persian starters, were disappointing. We ordered the mixed grill for four people, but the portion size was closer to what other restaurants typically serve for two. In hindsight, it would have been more cost-effective to order individual meals. The prices are relatively high for what is offered, and based on this visit, I would not return

Too cramped for me. Toilets only accessible via a spiral staircase. Service not very attentive (the soup came first, then the drink; the table wasn't cleared until payment). Food okay. I'd be afraid to go downstairs in an emergency. I've been there, but I don't need to go back.

Tonight I went to Kish with my friends. We're originally from Dortmund, and despite only being in Frankfurt for a short time, we made a point of visiting this restaurant. And we certainly weren't disappointed. The food couldn't have been better, the atmosphere was incredibly inviting, and the service was impeccable. Jawad, in particular, stood out in my mind; he does a truly fantastic job. I highly recommend it, and whenever I'm back in Frankfurt, I'll definitely make a point of visiting Kish again.

Today I was here with my boyfriend and we ordered Baghali Polo ba Mahiche with Zeytun Parvardeh on the side. It was absolutely fantastic! The lamb was incredibly tender and juicy, the rice fragrant with fresh dill and beans, and the marinated olives fresh and delicious. One of the best Iranian dishes I've eaten in Germany. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. You absolutely must come and try it – you won't regret it! 🍚🍖⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food at this Persian/Iranian restaurant was unfortunately very bad. The quality left much to be desired – there wasn't even a salad, and the rice was extremely greasy. The price-performance ratio was completely exorbitant. The restrooms smelled strongly of urine, which was very unpleasant. We were also very dissatisfied with the service, and the owner seemed extremely unfriendly. Overall, a very disappointing experience – never again.

The food was great, but I was sad that it was not clear, that the main dish has a salad and a sauce included - I ended up ordering them as a side and then having a lot of left overs which I could not take with me. We sat upstairs in a large room; it was very crowded, the tables were quite close together, and the air was correspondingly stuffy. I instinctively started looking for the emergency exits. When I read about how strict the rules and regulations are in Germany regarding social distancing and walkways, I dare say I doubt everything here is quite right…
