Kish Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, the colourful walls and decorations make the experience really amazing. The food was great, but I was sad that it was not clear, that the main dish has a salad and a sauce included - I ended up ordering them as a side and then having a lot of left overs which I could not take with me. Also there was no mentioning of the bread and the soup being served (which was delicious) so I ended up with way too much food for one person.

First off, the food was delicious and the service friendly. The ambiance itself is also quite appealing and harmonious. So why only 3 stars? We sat upstairs in a large room; it was very crowded, the tables were quite close together, and the air was correspondingly stuffy. I instinctively started looking for the emergency exits. When I read about how strict the rules and regulations are in Germany regarding social distancing and walkways, I dare say I doubt everything here is quite right…

A fantastic restaurant with excellent cuisine and a stylish ambiance. Our waiter, Jawed, was particularly impressive – attentive, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. The food was fresh, creatively presented, and absolutely delicious. All in all, a wonderful evening – highly recommended!

The food was of good quality, so it's recommendable. The owner and waitresses were well-mannered. We ordered kebab, specifically joojeh (chicken) and koobideh (minced meat), and were satisfied. The restaurant treated us to soup and bread. Unfortunately, the restaurant's name ("Kish") doesn't quite match its design and atmosphere (which is historical). Overall, it was a good weekend experience.

Highly recommended. A hidden gem in Frankfurt. Welcoming staff and fantastic food. Booking required!! This place was packed woth a queue outside waitibg for a table.

Our visit here was a wonderful experience! The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive, checking in regularly without being intrusive. Just right! The ambiance is exactly as pictured. There are mostly tables for two, but they can easily be pushed together to accommodate more people. My wife found it a bit "close," but I think every culture has its own understanding of comfortable social distancing. For me, the distance between the tables was perfectly fine. We would eat here again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, we're rarely in the area. But we highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!

Menu is big but very repetitive once the food comes. The restaurant, food and service is very average. Wasn't bad but expected more from the website blurb. Wouldn't go back as there are far better options

As my husband told that was the best kebab we have ever tried in Germany. And I can totally agree with him. Big portions , great prices for it. They are welcoming people with a soup, bread and herbs plate. What I would love to see more it is smile from a stuff. The girly who was served us was really very tired and that's was a reason she had no smile at all. As I have travelled to Iran several times I wanted to have some instrumental iranian music as a background. Not to loud but would bring to this place great atmosphere. In general all was good keep your level up!

The meat was raw and the prices were too high; it's not worth the hype at all. I'm going back to my favorite Iranian restaurant.

My girlfriend and I ate Persian food here for the first time and found the food very enjoyable. The interior is beautifully decorated and the waiters were always very polite. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to try it with their girlfriend.

The service was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the seating was very close together, leaving little room for privacy. The soup as a starter was hot and delicious – a good beginning. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal left much to be desired. The bread with feta cheese was served carelessly and was cold. The ordered mixed grill was supposed to come with two types of rice, but only saffron rice with barberries in the middle was served. The kebab Kubideh and the barg (fillet) were both lukewarm, and the Kubideh was also slightly burnt. The jujeh skewer was somewhat better, but still not hot. The small bowl of ghemeh was also cold, and the piece of meat in it was more like goulash. Unfortunately, the rice was also cold overall, so the butter on top couldn't melt. I've been to several Persian restaurants before, but unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. Perhaps I was just unlucky and had a bad day – I hope the criticism is received and more attention is paid to temperature and presentation in the future.

We were there for the first time today, a group of three. We had chelo kekab, Kashko Bademjan (vegetarian), and Khoreschte Gheyme (a stew with sauce). It was absolutely delicious. Even though it was very busy, everyone was friendly and attentive. We received two (!) complimentary appetizers: First, the obligatory herb platter with flatbread, followed immediately by a very, very tasty yellowish barley soup. Fantastic! The soft drinks were all very good and not too sweet. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert. We'll be back soon! The price was very reasonable!

I love Persian cuisine and eat Persian food quite often, so I'm surprised by the positive reviews since Kish was by far the worst Persian restaurant we've ever been to. We had the meat platter; the chicken was okay, but the lamb fillet was almost inedible – tough and tasteless. Only the soup and rice were delicious. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day, but otherwise, I find it hard to believe they got 4.8 stars.

The food was honestly mediocre and drab. For €30 for a main course I would expect a great meal but the meat was over cooked and the rice was unbelievably bland. Was surprised as to how the rating is this high until the server came at the end of the meal and offered us a free desert if we left a 5 star review..go figure. Update: Kish deleted my review saying it violated Google guidelines… I can only laugh at these dishonest business practices which ruin the integrity of reviews.

Id rate this place 2 out of 5 stars. The service was good, but the food was poorly prepared. Don’t be misled by the 5-star reviews they often offer free appetizers or discounts in exchange for those ratings.

The food was delicious, and I'd like to give special compliments to the atmosphere and the interior, for which a lot of effort has clearly been put into it. My only minor complaints were that the table was positioned as close as possible to the door (probably the kitchen door), through which someone walked every ten minutes or so, which was naturally disruptive, and the fact that it was very stuffy. I don't know if this was related to the fact that we were seated in the basement, but especially towards the end of the meal, it was hard to breathe.

A wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect: the decor, the music, and the delicious food. We received a soup on the house, and the food was prepared incredibly quickly. The shared appetizers were delicious and more than enough! The main course was also excellent! Good meat, delicious sauces. Definitely recommended!

I ordered kabab torsh at this restaurant, but the dish I received looked more like chenjeh (lamb skewers). After I informed the waiter, they simply served us with pomegranate sauce. Finally, when I went to pay the bill, another waiter explained to me that they always serve kabab torsh as grilled chenjeh with pomegranate sauce—and that it was "weird" if you weren't familiar with it. That's like saying, "Our jujeh kabab (chicken skewer) is served as kebab koobideh"—completely illogical! The waiter tried to appease us with a complimentary, but very poor-quality tea, which unfortunately didn't improve the bad impression.

Nicely kitschy ambiance. Good food, but reasonable for the price (depending on your perspective). The restaurant was quite busy on a Sunday (possibly due to the book fair), and the staff were stressed but friendly. The red wine was definitely good. Overall, it's better to reserve a table in advance if you plan on coming during peak times. It also works well with their app.

I can say that this is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time, both in terms of food quality, service, and ambiance. We received soup and some greens as a complimentary meal before our main courses. It would have been better if they had mentioned this when ordering. Keep this in mind before ordering the appetizers, otherwise, it might be too much. The kebab skewer I ordered was excellent. It was perfectly cooked and juicy. The rice was also good, though a bit dry for my taste. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered. The strawberry lemonade we had was also very nice. The ambiance, decor, and service were all excellent. I would definitely go again and recommend it.

I was absolutely thrilled! The restaurant offers authentic Persian cuisine of a very high standard – every dish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and lovingly presented. I was there with another person. We didn't wait for a queue or something. But, we were there around 5-6 PM before a little bit maybe typical dinner time. The staff was rellay friendly, kind and smiling. The service was good and fast. The food was really nice. I personally really like also Iranian food. It was a little bit expensive to be honest but still it deserved the money I would say. We ate outside but when I go inside to pay the bills I was regretful. Because, inside was amazing. The atmosphere, ambience of the restaurant inside was really great. So when you are in Frankfurt and want to try Iranian food, you should give it a try IMO.
