Schandis in Frankfurt am Main

You shouldn't go there with a high hope. The grilled dishes taste good, and among the Persian restaurants in Frankfurt, Schandiz and its two other affiliated restaurants (Babam and Maman) serve the best, but also the most expensive, Persian food in town. However, the rice portions have become very small over time. It's very unusual for a Persian restaurant to serve so little rice. The owner requests that you reorder the rice (for €6). Given the prices charged, they should either be more generous and not serve children's portions, or not charge an extra €6. I had recommended Schandiz to my friends and praised it highly. Unfortunately, my seven guests and I were very surprised by the portion of rice served. It's a no-go to pay €35 for a meal and get a child's portion of rice. The staff is always friendly and polite and perhaps should be better trained in table setting if you describe your restaurant as upscale. 😊 کبابهای شاندیز و بابام و مامان که همه مطعلق به یک شخص هستند در فرانکفورت بهترینه ولی مقدار برنجی که .تو شاندیز سرو میشه واسه سیر کردن گنجشک کافیه نمیشه واسه یک سلطانی ۳۳ یورو ویا واسه ششلیک ۳۵ یورو پول گرفت و چهار قاشق برنج سرو کرد.

Very expensive, but nothing special compared to other Persian restaurants. Never again!

One of the best restaurants in Frankfurt

5 stars because I ate the best Persian food in Germany here. I've been to many good restaurants, but here every dish was truly outstanding. Of course, there were also a few weaknesses: The waiting time after ordering was almost an hour, which is quite long. The rice portion was rather small for a Persian dish. The prices were about 15-20% higher compared to other Persian restaurants. But ultimately the quality of the food is the most important thing - and it was excellent.

Gleich bei Ankunft wurden wir sehr herzlich begrüßt. Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen. Der Tisch war liebevoll gedeckt - wie überhaupt das gesamte Ambiente sehr ruhig und geschmackvoll ist. Der Service war jederzeit sehr dezent und extrem aufmerksam. Wir hatten zu viert das Menu, das aus einer gemischten Vorspeisenplatte, einer Grillplatte (Lamm, Hühnchen, Gemüse) sowie einer gemischten Reisplatte und einem Schmorgericht als Hauptgang und einer Platte mit Dessertvariationen Bestand. Schon allein die Präsentation der einzelnen Gänge war toll - das Auge isst mit! Und dieser optische Eindruck wurde bei jedem Gang geschmacklich mehr als übertroffen. Eine tolle Aromatik sowie eine hervorragende Qualität der Zutaten! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut! Ein Abend wie er nicht besser hätte sein können!

We came from Cologne and ate Persian for the first time, it was worth it from start to finish. Very nice advice and explanations of the dishes, very familiar and warm atmosphere!

After a long time I visited this restaurant again. As a Persian who has visited many Persian restaurants in Europe and even in Iran, I can only say that this restaurant is simply the best in all respects! Both the quality of the food and the design were top! Service staff very friendly and attentive! Perfect. The prices are of course around 3 to 4 euros more expensive for food, which was ok for me if there was nothing to complain about!

For me, Schandis is by far the best restaurant in Frankfurt! I've tried many other places, but I always come to the conclusion that this one is simply unbeatable. Un très restaurant perse! Un bon accueil avec une flûte de proseco du fait d’un léger retard des clients précédents ! Nous avons pris le menu à 55€ et ce fut un très bon voyage culinaire! Une découverte sur 2 mezzes en entrée , choix de viandes généreux avec du poulet très fondant et des desserts très frais. Restaurant un peu cher mais qualitatif. Réservation conseillée.

Küche und Service sind wie immer hervorragend – eine Reservierung ist unbedingt zu empfehlen, da das Lokal sehr gut besucht ist. Für mich bleibt das Schandis eine Top-Adresse für persische Küche im Rhein-Main-Gebiet.

A great experience of Iranian culture and cuisine. Excellent quality of service and extremely friendly staff. Excellent quality starters and drinks. Delicious tahdig and homemade doogh were a highlight. The starters and main courses were served with attractive presentation and very good quality. It may not have been the best Koobideh kebab in Germany, but overall it was the best experience in an Iranian restaurant in Germany for me. If we come back to Frankfurt, we will definitely return to Restaurant Schandis.

The Schandis is the best Persian restaurant I know. If I want to go out for a fancy and delicious meal with someone, Schandis is definitely my first choice. You can always rely on the ambience, service and food. Even when reserving a table, the employees try very hard to fulfill the customer's wishes. The food, especially the meat, is of very good quality. The spices are perfectly balanced so that the food is simply delicious. The service is attentive and what I particularly like is how quietly and carefully they work. The ambience was brought out of the rather small restaurant as best as possible with attention to detail. It's great that there is such a stylish and delicious restaurant in Frankfurt!

The rice tasted like oil and the food was very little at the price of thirty five euros, we heard the voice of one of the waiters saying why they don't go.

I made a reservation for dinner with my family and we had to leave because the waitress simply ignored our requests and never served us! She gave the menus and left. She also waited on every table around us except ours. my husband called her several times but he was ignored. and one of them doesn't speak English, in 2024 this is unacceptable. I live in Dubai and have never experienced so much embarrassment. I've been traveling in Germany for 1 month and this was the worst restaurant!

Were in the renovated and newly designed restaurant for the first time today. It's very classy and chic! But the team is also very friendly, very attentive, fast and competent. The food and especially the starters are very good, as is the wine. The prices have risen significantly compared to before! But also the quality and the ambience. With a bit of luck you can find a parking space. Free on weekends.

We went to this restaurant last night and were disappointed. Some tables for two people are small and uncomfortable. I ask myself why ? And service was overwhelmed and unfocused last night. I can't recommend it. Another comment mentioned something about “racial profiling”. That's how we felt here too. We had reserved a table for 9:30 p.m., but were then asked to go to the tables outside. It should be obvious that at this time of year it should be clear that you have only reserved one table for inside. There were even free tables inside. We were the only ones outside, it wasn't exactly warm, the door inside was closed and it completely felt as if we had been deliberately excluded. We were then ignored for 10 minutes and not served. Then we just left. I have never experienced a situation like this in my life. I can absolutely recommend the restaurant to no one.

The food was inedible! Djuje raw and not grilled. Tomatoes raw and not grilled! The rice not steamed! No butter, just cheap oil! No onion! Very expensive for the very poor quantity! We planned our travel route from Colorado to Europe to include a stopover in Frankfurt to be sure we had a chance to eat at Shandis. We ate at Babam the year before and met Masoud who was an absolute gem. Our dinner at Shandis remains one of our best meals in our 5 week travel through Germany,Italy and France. We talked about our meal so many times- We are already planning another trip so we can visit all 3 of their restaurants . Hands down the best Persian food we have come across. Very nice place for a high-end business or private dinner. The meat is high-quality (and halal). The ambience is calm and comfortable. If you have a large party it may takes a bit of time for food to be served but the quality of the food is good. Happy to return.

Basically a cross-section of Persian cuisine. That was the best decision. The food was simply A+ with stars... The service from everyone involved was beyond reproach. Jahrestag im edlen Schandis gefeiert am 30.12.23. Der älteste Perser in Frankfurt ( seit 1999 ) ist gleichzeitig auch immer noch der Beste. Allein die Atmosphäre mit der ruhigen Musik im Hintergrund und der stilvollen Einrichtung macht das Ausgehen im Schandis jedesmal zu etwas Besonderem. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und berät einen hervorragend zu Speisen und Weinen. Wir hatten Kubideh mit Lamm und Huhn und als Beilage persichen Juwelenreis. Als Vorspeise gab es Käse mit Oliven in Granatapfel und Walnusssauce. Beides sehr lecker und ausreichend. Das Schandis ist immer wieder ein Highlight auf das man sich freut.
