A great restaurant with a unique concept.

The food was really solid and worth a try if you haven't had Eritrean food yet. The atmosphere was cozy and I felt like in a living room. The service was above and beyond. Michaele, who served me, made sure to clear my view to the tv without me asking because she noticed that I was watching it. Definitely worth a visit to anyone that likes to try new foods new frankfurt main station.

This was a nice treat to find! The food was tasty. Although the injera wasn't as fresh as I've had other places, it was still delicious and an excellent meal to fill our bellies. The music was pleasant and the service was wonderful.

We wanted to try something new and went to the restaurant, so we were surprised at how good it was! Food was very tasty and tasted completely different than expected! African style atmosphere! Really delicious and the beer with mango, palm beer is sweet and delicious to drink out of a bowl:) and traditionally African, you eat here with your fingers and dip the flatbread into the food:) If you're not typically German, you'll find something special here! Only the waitress ignored us often and for a long time and that may be because we were the only Europeans and otherwise the clientele was mostly African. The service can still improve here!

We love trying different flavors and were thrilled to be able to eat in Kilimanjaro. The atmosphere is African, but not so much that it overwhelms you. The service is very friendly, the food is very tasty. We had the vegan tasting platter and the meat tasting platter (No. 27). Great price, plus the African beers 😋😋😋 Lovely again

Interesting cuisine that you don't often find here, food was ok

I was a bit disappointed by the distant advice. The dishes don't seem to be to my taste. I had spicy beef and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Otherwise great atmosphere

The starter (dumpling with minced meat) was an absolute disgrace. Under no circumstances should you order them! For 4.50 euros you get 2 mini mini mini bags. No sauce, absolutely overpriced. Things are different with the mixed platter for just under 30 euros. The price here is fair. Neither of us were full afterwards, but the price was still right. The food wasn't particularly seasoned, but still reasonably tasty. The service was nice.

If you're looking for something new: delicious food and very friendly service. We tried the mixed platter, lamb/beef/chicken with various vegetables, along with African beer from the drinking bowl. We felt very comfortable, only the flickering lamp disturbed the ambience. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated.

Sehr nettes Personal, sehr gutes Essen! Ich habe noch noch Afrikanisch gegessen und bin begeistert! Gerne wieder!

Zuerst gab es Palm Beer in afrikanischem Glas. Die mit Linsen gefüllten Teigtaschen etwas wenig an Menge im Preis/Leistungsverhältnis (4€ für 2 recht kleine Taschen), geschmacklich allerdings sehr gut. Das Hauptgericht war gut. Leider waren die bedienenden Damen die längste Zeit im Hinterraum bzw. der Küche, sodass eine Nachbestellung von Getränken nicht möglich war. Die Zubereitung hat jeweils recht lange gedauert bei sonst leerem Restaurant, welches innen recht nett aufgemacht und sauber ist.

Wir kamen spontan zu viert und durften uns einen Tisch aussuchen. Die Deko schreit mit Afrika aber mir hat es gefallen. Die afrikanischen Bieren sind sehr zu empfehlen. Zum Essen haben wir die Mixplatte für vier Personen bestellt. Diese kam dann auch fix und es war reichlich für alle da. Man konnte sich reichlich durch probieren. Mein Favorit war da Hühnchen. Lediglich etwas Musik hat mir persönlich gefällt.

Ein kleines kulinarisches Highlight mitten in Frankfurt. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend im Kilimanjaro. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle super freundlich und aufmerksam. Zum Essen hatten wir die gemischte Platte. Afrikanisches Essen sollte man einfach mal probiert haben, absolute Empfehlung! Wenn wir wieder in Frankfurt sind, kommen wir auf jeden Fall nochmal vorbei.

Wow was für ein Erlebnis das war dort zu essen. Ich war vorher noch nie afrikanisch essen. Es wir für mich wirklich ein Erlebnis. Total lecker und super nette Leute dort. Selbst das Bier aus Ghana war Klasse, super fruchtig mit Bananen oder Ananas Geschmack. Richtig toll das ganze. Für jeden der offen ist für kulinarische Erlebnisse weltweit ist das was zum hineingehen. Die Gäste waren ebenso höflich wie Git gelaunt. Ehrlich gut. Peace ;) Cool von meiner herausragenden Freundin mich dorthin zu führen. Dank dafür. Es war mir ein Genuss.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne. Kinder sind willkommen und fühlen sich sehr wohl. Besonders die Vegetarische Vorspeisenplatte können wir empfehlen.

A lovely restaurant with a super nice atmosphere and good that simply tastes amazing. After trying it several times I can safely say this is a must go location.

Es handelt sich um ein authentisches eritreisches Restaurant. Das Essen war hervorragend und preislich in Ordnung (13-14 Euro pro Hauptspeise), wenn auch etwas essig/sauerlastig, was aber wohl der lokalen Küche entspricht. Das Restaurant verfügt über keine Patienten und eine Toilette, die nur über eine Treppe erreichbar ist. Alles in Allem eine solide Erfahrung.

Einfach nur lecker. Tolle Mitarbeiter, die super Empfehlungen aussprechen und das Restaurant sieht auch sehr hübsch aus.

We've never had African food, so we figured we'd try it. We looked at the menu and decided on the platter for 2, which was supposed to have beef, chicken, lamb, and 3 other vegetarian dishes. Since my wife doesn't like lamb, when the platter arrived, I asked the server which was the lamb so I could eat it myself. She said there was no lamb, just 2 beef dishes. When I asked about it (since the menu said lamb) she said it's extra, and you have to ask for it. So, we ate the food, which was good. We can't comment on the authenticty of the food, but it was not bad. Nothing to write home about, just OK. When the server came back to take the platter, she asked if everything was Ok. I said yes, but again, disappointed there was no long. She again said you have to ask for it, and when I told her the menu says it should have lamb, she said "most people don't like lamb". From that point on, she igored us. When I went to pay the bill (since she never came back) the other lady (owner?) aksed how evrything was, and I mentioned that I was disappointed that there was no lamb and her response was to smile and say "OK". When I mentioned that the only reason I ordered it was because it had lamb, she again smiled and said "OK". It was obvious that they both knew we were tourist and didn't care. While the prices were not bad, we did see other African restaurants while walking around town an would recommend you NOT try this place. Go somewhere else where they may not mislead you. That's why the rating is low.

Eine tolle Überraschung, nachdem wir uns ins Restaurant getraut haben. Super lieber Service und dass vegane Essen war sehr gut. Die Bierauswahl ist auch sehr gut.

Ein sehr schönes, gutes, und authentisches Restaurant! Wir waren dort auf Grund einer Empfehlung meines eritreischen Arbeitskollegen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Bestellt hatten wir eine vegetarische Platte für 2 Personen, und eine normale Platte für 3 Personen um verschiedene Sachen zu probieren. Es war alles super lecker (wie wenn der Arbeitskollege Speisen von seiner eritreischen Frau mitbringt) und auch auf jeden Fall ausreichend. Aus der Gegend stammendes Bier bekommt man in Schalen serviert, was uns kurz irritiert hat, aber es soll so traditionell sein und besser schmecken. Gegessen haben wir wie es sich gehört mit gereichtem Injera und den Fingern, was überhaupt kein Problem darstellte. Das macht das Essen auch noch mal zu einer interessanten Erfahrung und man wird überhaupt nicht komisch angeguckt. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und zu empfehlen! Wir waren alle begeistert und waren nicht das letzte Mal dort. Von uns eine definitive Empfehlung an alle, die die afrikanische/eritreische Küche probieren möchten. Auch preislich ist es total im Rahmen.

Einfach das beste äthiopisch/ Eritrea Restaurant in ganz Frankfurt! Ich habe über die Jahre auch bei allen anderen einmal gegessen und es war niemals auch nur ansatzweise so gut. Die guten Zutaten, die feine Abschmeckung plus der freundliche Service...ihr seid mit Abstand die besten!

Waren heute zum zweiten mal hier und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen ist super und besonders zu empfehlen sind die afrikanischen Biere. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und ist schnell am Tisch. Wir werden wieder kommen!

Freunde empfohlen uns das Kilimanjaro. Wenn ihr mal typisch eritreisch essen wollt, müsst ihr da hin. Die Anzahl an Gästen bzw. Landsmännern bestätigte uns ....hier muss es gut sein. Der Service ist aufmerksam und erklärt Gerichte und traditionelle Essgewohnheiten (mit den Fingern). Die Zubereitung hat etwas länger gedauert, aber das Geschmackserlebnis war unglaublich. Danke an das Team und wir sehen uns bestimmt bald mal wieder.

Kann ich herzlich empfehlen. Überzeugt Euch selber. Gehen sehr gerne hin.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, freundliche Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen. Einziger Nachteil: wenn jemand gerne alle seine Gerichte sehr heiß mag, ist dieses Restaurant nicht das richtige.

Ich hatte auf Grund der guten Bewertungen dort essen bestellt und dieses kam erst nach 2 Stunden an . Es war leider sehr schlecht die Sosse bestand nur aus Öl .Gemüse noch hart und hat schrecklich geschmeckt und bitter . Obwohl es nicht gut war haben wir ein bisschen davon gegessen und haben nun alle auch die Kinder Durchfall und Bauchweh seit gestern Nacht . Würde dort nie wieder etwas essen und verstehe nicht wie die guten Bewertungen zu Stande gekommen sind es war das mit Abstand schlimmste was ich lange gegessen habe .Habe das Restaurant per Email kontaktiert aber leider keine Antwort erhalten .

Die Kilimanjaroplatte für zwei war eines der besten Restaurant-Erlebnisse, die ich je hatte. Begeistert von der äthiopischen Küche! Sowohl die veganen, als auch die fleischhaltigen Gerichte waren vorzüglich!

Das Kilimanjaro ist seit über zehn Jahren eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants und unsere Nummer 1 unter den afrikanischen. Hier haben wir schon unzählige Freunde und Verwandte hingeschleppt, wenn es mal was anderes als italienische oder asiatische Küche sein sollte, und bislang waren alle immer völlig begeistert vom Essen hier. Es macht ja auch wahnsinnig Spaß, Bier mit Maracuja- oder Mango-Geschmack aus Kokosnussschalen zu trinken und die vielen Gerichte mit der Hand zu essen. Am besten eignet sich beim ersten Besuch natürlich eine gemischte Platte zum Probieren. Hier gibt es zum einen eine rein vegetarische Platte mit z. B. roten Linsen und gelben Kichererbsen, die breiartig verkocht sind sowie Okras, Kartoffeln und Grünkohl. Selbst hoffnungslose Fleischfresser wie wir sind mit dieser vegetarischen Platte allein rundum happy. Aber oft muss es doch die gemischte Platte sein, bei der zu der Auswahl von Gemüsen noch Rind-, Lamm- und Hühnerfleisch dazukommen, die entweder in Gewürzbutter oder einer würzigen, gulasch-ähnlichen Sauce serviert werden. All diese Sorten an Gemüsen und Fleisch thronen auf Injera, pfannkuchenähnlichen, leicht säuerlich schmeckenden, Brot, das man quasi als Besteck zum Aufgreifen der Speisen benutzt (und das zudem glutenfrei ist). Das super-freundliche Personal erklärt natürlich jedem Neuling gern die Gerichte und wie man sie zu sich nimmt. Wir können nur jedem nahelegen, einmal die eritreische Küche im Kilimanjaro zu kosten – und für alle, die die ost-afrikanische Küche schon kennen, ist der Laden ohnehin eine Empfehlung.
