We arrived on saturday night and they had a place for us while we didn't made a reservation. The inside scenery was beautiful and very cool. When we wanted to chance our table to outside, they made it possible without a problem. The staff was really kind and helpful. They changed in a instant to English. Wich they spoke very well. The food was done in no time, and was DELICIOUS! We really loved it, there was so much flavour and a good amount of variation in the vegetarian platter.

Are you interested in African? Then you've come to the right place in the heart of Africa. Super tasty food with meat & vegan options - spicy & not spicy. We ordered the mixed platter for 4 people and were able to choose 7 from 8 dishes. We had a colorful mix of beef & chicken and vegan options (chickpeas, spinach, potatoes…). The food was delicious (including the flatbread) and we were more than full! Eating is done by hand. There is a sink for washing hands independent of the toilets in the restaurant. Depending on where you sit, there is also the option of sitting in the sand. The restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars and is recommended. Reservations are absolutely necessary!

Something different :-) Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. There were 4 of us girls and we shared the hummus then took the mixed platter for 4 people. So we were able to try 7 out of 8 dishes. Unfortunately we didn't have any for dessert “Space” more. ;-) It is definitely necessary to make a reservation. The restaurant "In the heart of Africa" ​​is worth a visit. :-)

We ate together here as a group. The restaurant is cozy and absolutely not dirty. The atmosphere is authentic and so is the concept. Nevertheless, a unique and beautiful spot in Frankfurt that delivers my favorite African cuisine! First off - I have to mention the beautiful beautiful waitress that was serving my food, she has to get a pay rise! Unfortunately I am extending bad with names, but she was tall, with glasses and beautiful Scandinavian looks. She made me fall in love with this place after a tiring day in a different city, because of how caring, positive and kind she was! She even treated me to a very very delicious drink before I left, mentioning that it is alcohol free (which was so thoughtful of her, cause she could see I don’t drink alcohol !) I know that being a waiter or waitress is VERY STRESSFUL and u barely have time to think about clients and take ur time with them - but she somehow managed it and all her work as well! And I for sure will come back again with my husband or friends for the drinks and her beautiful energy!) (My husband is a fan of interesting drinks) Coming to the food - I got my favorite a platter with Injera and a mix of African dishes for 17-18 euros (reasonable price for the portion) and it was deliciouss! The design of interiors is something else! They have real sand in one of the halls and u can feel the vibes of Africa in every detail! Thoughtful and atmospheric design! I will add photos next time I come here!

Very satisfying and unusual! The combination of spicy meat with sour pancakes and lentil paste is wow! I also recommend ordering dju dju Mango or Passion fruit beer with your large plate. A wonderfully designed restaurant that is as individual and atmospheric as I can currently think of. The service is excellent: guests are helped with their different eating habits in a friendly and accommodating manner. The food is well seasoned: we had a vegetarian and meat plate, which is traditionally eaten with injera bread. Alicha is a potato and cabbage dish that stands out.

We came across the shop by chance and got space for 2.5 people. The food was very tasty, but some were also spicier, had the mixed platter for 2. There was banana cream for the bedside table. As the person who ordered, I hardly got anything because my partner, who is not usually a fan of sweet things, and my 9-month-old child destroyed it more quickly... when we are back in Frankfurt, we will repeat the visit.

We ate there with our children and were warmly welcomed. The team is super nice and helpful with menu selection. Although I'm from Frankfurt, it was my first time here and I thought the atmosphere was great. Sandy floor and cozy decoration, everything very clean and well maintained. The food was really tasty and we enjoyed it very much. I would have preferred a more reserved dressing (or none at all?) on the salad in the middle to neutralize the palate in between. This is what I know from other injera dishes. But maybe A matter of taste. All in all TOP and would be happy to recommend it.

A great, warm-hearted experience today in the tree house. The food was great, the service was super friendly and the view from above was funny. We really enjoyed the time. Another thing to mention: the restaurant works with deposit boxes. This means you take the leftovers with you and return the box to a partner restaurant. We'll be back soon.

I have had better Ethiopian food . Also very expensive compared to other similar restaurant. We were made to sit in one small corner because we did not reserve, also we asked to share one platter but we were charged for 2 platter. People serving did not pay attention when we were ordering.

We went to the restaurant “In the Heart of Africa” for the first time and found it to be a great experience. The food was amazing! We took a mixed platter for 2 people. You can put together different platters with or without meat, we had a vegan platter. The staff was very nice and polite. You will be happy and well advised when choosing a meal. In the restaurant you eat with your hands and if you have never done this before you will receive a short instruction when the plate is brought out. The drinks were also very tasty and with attention to detail. Absolutely recommended to eat there.

The taste of the food was also just great. If you like to share and try a lot you can try the mixed platter, we thought it was really good. You eat with your fingers, but towels and sinks are available nearby if anyone needs them. The portions are decent and the price is justified. The drinks also creative and delicious. There is a good and tasty selection for vegetarians and vegans. Definitely worth a visit and a big highlight of our trip. We will be back definitely!

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Restaurant mit zwei Bereichen inklusiven eines Kellerbereichs. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienungen, ganz leckeres Essen und gute Weine. Punktabzug gab es bei uns nur, weil die Karte wirklich sehr überschaubar ist, es gibt eine Vorspeise ansonsten kann man nur gemischte Platten bestellen, bei denen man fünf von acht Gerichten auswählen kann, vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch. Es gibt keine fünf Punkte, weil man diese nicht einzeln bestellen kann, stand zumindest nicht auf der Karte. Sehr gerne wieder!

Ich bin zufällig an dieses Restaurant geraten, weil es in der Nähe meines Hotels lag und es bei Tripadvisor gut besprochen war. Das Restaurant besticht durch seine nette Atmosphäre und die außerordentlich freundlichen Bedienungen, eine Freundlichkeit, die auf die Atmosphäre abstrahlt. Die Speisekarte ist sehr klein, man kann sich ein Gericht mit 4 Komponenten aus 8 (4 mit Fleisch, 4 vegetarisch) zusammenstellen. Es handelt sich um eritreische Küche, d.h. die Speisen sind auf einem Fladen angerichtet und werden mit den Fingern gegessen. Das muss man natürlich mögen. Ich fand die Speisen (z.B. die Linsenpaste oder auch das Rindfleisch mit Zwiebeln) sehr schmackhaft. Dazu gibt es äthiopisches Bier oder auch europäische Weine (die ich aber nicht probiert habe).
