Very friendly service. Visually, it suits the seaside setting. The food was delicious, although the portions could have been a bit larger. We would definitely come back again.

We ate here during the first week of November 2025. A very nice, quaint restaurant. The food was excellent. We had fish and meat dishes as well as a vegetarian option. Everything was delicious and plentiful. The service was friendly, perhaps a little over-the-top and hectic at times, but not unpleasant. The atmosphere is cozy. A reservation is recommended.

We were there with our extended family for a birthday dinner (with a reservation). The table was lovingly set, our server took time for us and answered any questions we had very kindly, and the chef made each and every one of us happy. The food is highly recommended, and everything was freshly prepared. It has a quaint and very cozy atmosphere. I give it a very clear recommendation and have the following tips: - Cozy and small restaurant: make a reservation in advance. - Definitely order the homemade garlic bread as a starter. - If you enjoy a little nightcap, you should order the homemade apothecary herbal tea. :) I'd be happy to go back!

On a rainy day in late October, we were the only guests at lunch. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious meal: Eiderstedt cabbage with plenty of meat and linguine with plenty of scampi. The restaurant is very quaint, the staff friendly, and the menu is clearly laid out, from a chip shop to traditional dishes. We wish the young new owner (since January) much success!

The interior ambiance matches the exterior. Here, you'll find home-style cooking in a pleasant atmosphere. The service leaves nothing to be desired—relaxed, prompt, and friendly. The mushroom schnitzel with cream, however, left something to be desired: the schnitzel was unfortunately too thick, and the cream sauce was too thin and, in our opinion, underseasoned. However, other dishes in our group were convincing, and we'd be happy to return. All in all, a solid visit where the positives outweigh the negatives.

Small, quaint, and cozy: that's how Kiek In welcomed us. Even without a reservation, we got a table right away. We were barely seated when the menu was requested. My partner found the beer to be quite drinkable. Our request for Lapskaus as an appetizer was promptly fulfilled. All in all, a wonderful evening. We'd love to come back.

Cozy interior in a charming fisherman's house with ambiance, good beer, and beautifully presented and freshly prepared food. We felt completely at home there.

I went to Kiek in for lunch today and received a very friendly welcome. I was immediately offered a sunny spot in the beer garden, and my dog ​​was also welcome. The owner (and presumably also the waiter) knows how to be hospitable. The food arrived quickly and was very delicious. I was asked at intervals if everything was okay, if it tasted good, and even at the end if it was enough. I don't understand these "moaning reviews" here. Maybe things didn't go smoothly at the beginning—maybe so. But that was certainly compensated for by the friendliness. I think it's great that a young entrepreneur has the courage to start anew in this industry in these times. I wish you continued success—you're doing what you're doing right, and I look forward to my next visit.

I don't understand the good reviews. The ambiance is certainly very nice and cozy. But everything else is completely wrong. We ordered plaice with fried potatoes. The plaice came on a plate over the fried potatoes. How are you supposed to eat plaice like that? There wasn't even a separate plate for the bones. The plaice was small and dripping with fat. The fried potatoes were large, not crispy, and also very fatty. When we complained about the plaice and asked how it was supposed to be eaten, the waitress (it also seemed to be the manager) gave us a rude response. No one has ever complained about the presentation here; apparently, they can't. Never again Kiek in

Excellent food! The owner and waiter are super friendly, attentive, and delight in seeing his customers' smiles. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed our meal. We'll be back and would recommend it to our friends anytime. It's great that there are still restaurateurs who love their craft!

The ambiance is nice, the service friendly. The food, however, has its flaws. We had the Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. 1. The Jägerschnitzel was a very thin piece of meat😭, with an unseasoned coating😭 2. The fried potatoes were cut very large, and there were also fried potatoes from the previous diners mixed in, which was evident from the dryness and burntness of the potatoes. 3. The salad 😂😂😂😂 what salad? A larger shot glass filled with salad 😭😭😭. The price isn't right anymore 😪 Recommendation only with reservations

Four of us went to Kiek in and were very surprised by the lovely atmosphere and the super friendly owner. We only ate fish sandwiches, but they were absolutely delicious... The gin, which the owner makes himself, was also delicious.

The food was an absolute disgrace and a typical tourist rip-off! The two of us went to this place twice (I live in the area and am typically northern German). On the first visit, my visiting friend and I only drank two draft beers and the supposedly homemade garlic bread...which was definitely NOT homemade, but frozen or bagged from a discount store. But okay, we were already late and assumed the bread would probably run out by then (although it would have been nice to mention that to us!). But because we otherwise felt comfortable outside (presumably the boss was handing out a supposedly house-made liqueur, which you can buy there for €30, and it later turned out that only the label was "house-made"), we announced we'd be back for dinner two days later... the supposedly two "large" meatballs with fries, brown gravy, and some salad for just under €20!!! were an absolute disgrace (diameter per meatball about 5-6 cm!), the salad wilted and soggy, the supposedly northern German brown gravy a thin, tasteless, and indefinable liquid. The meatballs were dry and never like "Grandma's"... horrible, tasteless, and probably frozen. My friend had the "Pannfisch" (fried fish)...he was really looking forward to it because he's from the Ruhr area, where fish isn't a common occurrence there. He was so disappointed with what was probably deep-fried or dead and dry frozen fish. The only thing that tasted good was the "homemade garlic bread" we ordered as a starter...which this time looked like it, too! The female waitress with an accent just shrugged her shoulders after our comment and complaint...the three small meatballs with various dips that were also on offer were, as she pointed out, about 2-3 cm in diameter...Although we had planned to spend the entire evening there, we decided to go a little further to a Spanish restaurant, where we received a warm welcome and rounded off the evening with a delicious San Miguel draft beer! By the way, my table neighbors also complained about the food...but unfortunately, nobody at "Kiek in" cares...but tourists come and go...and there are always new ones who fall into the same "trap"! Never again, and I have no idea where the positive reviews come from, sorry.

Very nice place with good food and friendly staff.

Unfortunately, there's not much to review. There were eight of us and we asked for a seat. The answer was that if we found one, we could sit down. We had to fetch chairs ourselves. Unfortunately, during the twenty-odd minutes we were seated, we weren't allowed to order anything. Our neighbor had been waiting for three-quarters of an hour for our drinks. We wanted to order inside and would have taken everything outside ourselves, but that wasn't possible either. The staff seemed disorganized and overwhelmed. Perhaps it was due to the village festival and the resulting higher number of guests, or simply, as with so many others, the lack of staff. I don't know, but we left thirsty and hungry.

The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. The prices are also totally reasonable. I highly recommend it.

I was a bit disappointed by the large meatballs; you'd expect something different from what you'd call large. The vegetables in the beetroot mash weren't quite tender yet. It's a shame, though; this dish was a great idea.

Many thanks to the kitchen and the service – I ordered the Hamburg pan-fried fish, and one of the pieces of fish wasn't quite right in my opinion. The service took the dish back, and I received a perfect new plate. Very good service and I saw great food!

A quaint, charming restaurant in a thatched-roof house. Cozy outdoor seating is available. The restaurant is owned by actor Bo Hansen. We had homemade crab soup and a meatball stand with fries. A great idea and delicious. The price was perfectly reasonable. The beer was cold and delicious. The location is quiet and perfect. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. First of all, the food took a very long time, and the fried potatoes and gravy were cold. The schnitzel was like a shoe sole, as if it were from the day before. There was no soup of the day at all. The prices were too high for the small portions. Service was okay, but the cleanliness of the women's restroom left something to be desired.

We went there for dinner yesterday. Based on the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff, we assumed the food would be good. Unfortunately, it wasn't. We waited an hour for the food. My two large meatballs were tiny, flavorless, and cold to boot. The fried potatoes were hard, but okay. €19.99 is way too expensive considering the size of a child's plate. The schnitzel looked like it came out of a deep fryer—lukewarm, and the portion was also about the size of a child's plate—€21.99 is definitely too expensive. The fries with the currywurst were good and warm. The currywurst, on the other hand, was lukewarm and definitely came out of a deep fryer. All in all, too expensive for the small portions. The wait was too long, and the hot and cold dishes varied. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend it.

Update July 2025: Unfortunately, I have to change my rating from 5 to 3 stars. The restaurant has unfortunately deteriorated. The food is only OK and no longer tasty. The fried potatoes aren't fried, but rather briefly tossed in a pan. The sauce is very cold. And this after a very long wait for the food. I think the kitchen is currently overwhelmed, probably due to the new owner. Hopefully, things will improve. Service is still very good. -‐----‐---- Very nice restaurant. Everyone was very friendly. We had the soup of the day and the Ohlsdorf fish platter. Both very tasty.

This was by far the worst meal I've ever been served in a restaurant. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. And there were only four tables occupied. When we asked after an hour how much longer it would take, the answer was, "The chef is working." I had the Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was tiny, but at least the breading was tasty. The fried potatoes weren't fried potatoes, but quartered small potatoes that had apparently been warmed in oil and were floating in a puddle of grease on the plate, along with two cubes of ham. My companion had a turkey steak (or something similar, I don't remember the exact name of the dish) with a baked potato. There were three or four goulash-sized pieces of turkey. It really wasn't pretty or tasty. The 2 points are only for the service, even though the Spezi was already sold out at 7 p.m. and the ice cubes only came after asking twice

My wife's fried fish was delicious, and the portion was reasonable for the price. My two large meatballs were a joke. Far too small and cold. The fried onions were mushy. Next time, I'd rather have fish.

That was truly disappointing. First, our patience was tested: We waited over an hour for our food. It can happen; it was really busy. I was looking forward to a North German classic: black bread with crab and a fried egg. Unfortunately, the dish fell far short of expectations. The bread was soggy throughout – a shame, because this is exactly where a hearty, toasted black bread should have been the foundation of a good dish. The crab: barely there. Whether they had run out or were simply forgotten is anyone's guess. The fried egg was also carelessly prepared – nothing special in terms of consistency or appearance. One highlight, however, was the price. Perhaps reasonable for the usual portion, but if you're running out of ingredients, it's better to just say so. The service was friendly and attentive – and included a nice touch with a round on the house. We then went to a tried-and-tested, good restaurant – not out of culinary adventure, but simply out of hunger. 😉

We are really disappointed. We waited almost 2 hours for our food and what came next was nowhere near good. The fish was overcooked. I didn't need to go to the restaurant for the veggie plate. The schnitzel was OK, but the fries had no taste. The service staff tried to make up for it. But we were there and are done with it for now. It's a real shame because we have been regular customers at Kiek in for over 7 years and the food has always been good and we have never waited longer than 30 minutes for our food.

If you're looking for a casual, relaxed restaurant, this is the place for you. You'll receive a very warm welcome and the atmosphere is friendly. We had to wait an extremely long time for our food, but the staff were happy to offer games and small gifts. The taste wasn't anything special, and the portions weren't particularly large either. However, if you're just looking for a drink, I can recommend this place!

I can't rate the food because we only had drinks. The service was perfect and very friendly. Cool bar music played quietly in the background. Of all the bars we saw in SPO, this was the coolest.

What happened to our favorite Café Kiekin??? At today's Kiekin, with its new owner, you can forget about coffee and cake. The coffee was strong but lacked coffee flavor. Latte... so-so. The rhubarb cake was dry and had two tiny pieces of rhubarb in it; it didn't deserve the name. Only the apple cake was okay. Oh well, once and bye. Back then: Nice atmosphere, delicious homemade cakes/tarts. Highly recommended👌

We mourn the loss of the previous owner. It had authentic cuisine and a clear concept. Somehow it is not clear what kind of concept the new owners are pursuing.

We paid 18 euros each for a salad without dressing. Portions were super small. The large mixed salad was less than an appetizer salad compared to other restaurants in the area.

In einem tollen Ambiente durften wir den Lammgrillteller und den Fischteller genießen. Uns hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt, einzig die große Ofenkartoffel beim Grillteller hat aufgewärmt geschmeckt. War trotzdem gut und wahrscheinlich nicht anders machbar wenn man nicht 30 Minuten warten möchte.

Einzigartige Lokalität mit leckerem Essen und freundlichem Personal!

Wir waren zu zweit unterwegs in SPO Dorf und wollten einfach in einem Süßem Restaurant essen gehen und haben ,,Kiek in‘‘ entdeckt. Es sah sehr süs aus und von daher setzten wir uns nach draußen an einen hübschen Platz und bestellten eine Fischsuppe als Hauptspeise. Schien alles ganz normal aber dann Kahm der Kellner und sagte uns dass es keine Fischsuppe mehr gibt! Das Kahm uns schon komisch vor denn es ist ja nicht so als ob es nur eine bestimmte Menge an Suppe und Zutaten gibt! Dann bestellten wir einen grosen Salat der nach nichts schmeckte und EISBERGSALAD war! Ich bestellte als Hauptspeise 3Matjes und meine Mutter Krabbensuppe. Ihre Krabensuppe hat nach Tomaren/Karoten Suppe mit ein paar Krabben reingeworfen. Und mein Matjes war auch extreeeeem fettig!😳 Meine Mutter hat ihre Suppe nicht essen können und ich meinen Matjes auch nicht! Das Personal war aber sehr nett und hat uns das Essen nicht i. Rechnung gestellt deswegen der eine Stern!🤗♥️

Nach langer Radtour um St. Peter Ording, verspürten wir Hunger. Das Kiek in der Olsdorfer Str. 3, St. Peter-Ording, war unser Anlaufpunkt. Es machte einen kleinen netten Eindruck. Die Bedienung war auch schnell bei uns und brachte die Karten. Essen war schnell ausgesucht. Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln dazu eine Championsauce. Frau Gemahlin hatte Appetit auf Scholle mit Bratkartoffeln. Getränke war schwieriger. Jever ist durch seine herbe Note nicht jedermann Geschmack. Also blieb dann Hefenbier und ein Alster. Man muss nicht alle Biersorten haben, aber ein Ausweichprodukt wäre schon schön. Das Alster war durch das Jever schon etwas herb im abgang. Zum Essen: Das Schnitzel war gut. Die Schollen waren gut. Mehr aber auch nicht. Die Bratkartoffeln waren nicht so unser Geschmack. Diese waren nicht annähernd "Knusprig,, um es nett zu sagen. Sorry. Die Championsauce war auf einer Skala von 1-10 bei 4. Dies ist eine Momentaufnahme unseres Essen. Die Bewertungen von über 4 müssen also von irgendwo her kommen. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Wartezeit war angemessen und das Ambiente war nett.

Nette Bedienung, leider nicht mehr als mittelmäßige Essen. Scholle in zu viel Fett, Dips der Vorspeise leider schlecht.

Hier kann man sehr lecker essen und drinnen ist es echt gemütlich. Der Service ist auf zack . Auch draußen ist es sehr angenehm zu sitzen. Große Eckbänke mit Polster unter großen Schirmen. Auch Biergarten-Bestuhlung unter großen Bäumen gibt es. Viele Platz zum draußen sitzen. Sogar zwei Strandkörbe stehen parat. Die Portionen sättigen gut und sind preislich in Ordnung. Die Küche ist gut und schnell. Der Bezug der Sonnenschirme gehört vom Besitzer aber schnell ausgetauscht. Die sind algig und rissig.

Wie jeden SPO Aufenthalt, sind wir auch dieses Jahr wieder im Kiek in gewesen. Leider hat die Küche ganz schön nachgelassen. Die Suppe schmeckte nicht selbstgemacht, sondern eher wie aus der Tüte und das Schnitzel und die Bratkartoffeln waren eher ungewürzt und nicht so richtig auf den Punkt. Der Service war gut und am Ambiente hat sich nichts verändert. Es ist ein nettes Lokal mit schönem Aussenbereich.

Das Restaurant ist eine Augenweide, das Personal freundlich und speditiv, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut und das Essen authentisch und schmackhaft. Gerne wieder!

Tolles kleines Restaurant mit super leckerem Essen. Die Portionen sind groß, der Preis dafür überschaubar, Preis-Leistings-Verhältnis also top!! Wir hatten gut gegessen und getrunken und uns mit den Gästen am Nachbartisch unterhalten (die ziemlich viel Umsatz durch ihre Getränke brachten). Die Bedienung war etwas wortkarg, vermutlich auch weil sie nicht zu viel deutsch sprach. Nachdem wir noch einen Verdauungsschnaps getrunken hatten, wurden wir und die Gäste am Nachbartisch von der Chefin freundlich zum Gehen aufgefordert, da schon die nächsten Gäste draußen warten würden. Das hat den bis dahin wirklich gelungenem Abend einen Dämpfer gegeben. Nach 80 Minuten raus geworfen zu werden, das geht aus unserer Sicht leider gar nicht… wir kommen nicht mehr wieder!

Wir kennen das Kiek in schon seit vielen Jahren. Es ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. So könnten die Möbel draußen mal eine Erneuerung vertragen. Drinnen ist es gemütlich in diesem typisch friesischen Haus. Das Essen ist gut, die Lammgerichte sehr lecker. Das Personal ist passend zum Ambiente friesisch herb aber meistens freundlich. Man muss es mögen. Update 2022: Es wird weiterhin nur Barzahlung akzeptiert, was wohl nicht mehr an technischen Problemen liegen kann. Das ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Sorry, ein Stern Abzug.

Top Essen, egal ob Fisch oder Fleisch. Super gebratene Schnitzel mit Rahmsoße, Champignons und Pommes. Dazu noch ein Salat. Ich habe dann noch Ketchup bestellt und sehr zu meiner Freude, er war um sonst !! Preise angemessen, Qualität vom Fleisch super. Nette, schnelle Bedienung und wir bekamen sogar einen Tisch ohne Reservierung. Jederzeit wieder

Der Regen draußen hat uns in das Kiek in hineingespült und das war gut so. Meine Frau hatte Schnitzel mit Rahmchampignons und ich aß " Mein lieber Scholli"( gegrillte Schollenfilets mit Kartoffelsalat) es war sehr lecker...und sehr ansprechend zubereitet...die Beilagen waren in kleinen Schälchen auf dem Teller serviert. Alles in allem ein perfekter Besuch
