I was at Katsu for the first time this week. My son goes there often and is always thrilled. We were there together. My son kept his promise. It was really tasty and very nicely prepared. I have to say about the ambience. There are restaurants in the area where the atmosphere is good and the food is very bad. That's why I can't understand some of the bad comments

Unfortunately, in my opinion it has now become far too expensive :( The price-performance ratio was much better before... EDIT: Thanks for the answer, I also believe you that your costs are higher. However, other sushi shops of the same quality are much cheaper and had a less high price increase.

I wish everyone who visits this "restaurant" good health and a speedy recovery. Reading the reviews it seems that people haven't seen good restaurants and delicious food. It's sad and terrible.

Very good Asian food, service attentive. It's worth it!

The cuisine/dishes meet expectations. The dining room including the interior is reminiscent of a canteen at best. We didn't feel comfortable here. The service is good, but unfortunately nothing more. We know that it is not easy to find capable colleagues, which makes the rest of the ambience all the more important in addition to the quality of the food. A dry ice fountain doesn't help either. That's better!

The service is a disgrace. Not only is the menu on the website not up to date, but prices and quantities are completely different to the menu on site. Although we were informed on the phone, it wasn't even mentioned that the Schlemmerblock was not compatible with our order. This cannot be seen on the Schlemmerblock itself. Nevertheless, the food is top.

You can have a delicious Japanese meal here. I ordered flying noodles here. The dish was also very tasty, but the portions were a bit small.

Service was great, food was even better :-) Only the noise level was really loud. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back!!!

Excellent pan-Asian cuisine. There is something for every palate, whether curry, pho or sushi, vegan, vegetarian or carnivore. Everything very appealing. The only criticism (above the line!): the espresso could be hotter.

We just had a meal there last Saturday. It was good sushi, but the crispy varieties were too hard and crunchy. The restaurant was very cold and it took a long time (45 mins) to get our food from the time we ordered. They played loud country music that was somewhat distracting. I can compare this restaurant to others in the area, e.g., Noir in Wiesbaden and Hiro in Mainz and those two were on balance better for atmosphere and food.

Great food, great taste. Would love to come back. The only criticism: it is very loud when it is full.

A very nice restaurant and very tasty

The sushi here is good and is served nicely with the dry ice, making it an eye-catcher. But my recommendation here is the Pho Bo as a starter or main course. The soup tastes great!

My wife and I visited Katsu Restaurant because of the positive reviews. Our service was very attentive and friendly. The food was well prepared and really tasty. However, I have to mention that both my wife and I suffered from an upset stomach after eating and the following day. I suspect that we couldn't tolerate one of the spices.

Katsu is one of the few places that I have no hesitation in recommending to any lover of good sushi! The ambience is very appealing with a fairly minimalist interior and is complemented by attentive and friendly service. The sushi is served in an equally appealing and unusual way and impresses with its high quality and very good taste. My personal highlight was the “Dezato” dessert combination, which I warmly recommend to every “sweet-tooth”. I was also more than impressed by the teas served (especially lemongrass) and in combination with the food they are not too overpowering when it comes to their sweetness and taste. All in all: always a more than satisfactory experience!

We went to Katsu for my birthday recently and had a great lunch. Our sushi platter was lovingly prepared and everything tasted wonderful. There are now new dishes on the menu, but my favorite is and remains the Crispy Mountains or the Aburi Flambeed Sushi menu. The service is always friendly and courteous. If desired, a suitable wine accompaniment to the food is also recommended. We come here often and always enjoy coming back, but I didn't know that birthday children get a piece of matcha cream cheese cake with fresh berries for free ^_^

Mein Mann und ich hatten das Candle Light Dinner gebucht und waren begeistert. Der Tisch war super schön eingedeckt mit Kerze und Rose genau wie beschrieben (Rose darf man übrigens mit nach Hause nehmen). Zum Essen: Mein Mann hatte als Vorspeise flambierten Thunfisch mit Wakame und marinierten Zwiebeln und dann ein Crispy Sushi Fusion und nochmal das eine Menü mit Thunfisch und war mehr als zufrieden damit. Alles war sehr frisch und hochwertig. Ich hatte die Nudeln mit Ente, das Fleisch war zart, das Gemüse noch etwas bissfest, aber nicht zu viel, sondern genau richtig. Auch Das Kokosmochi zum Dessert war mega lecker. Alles in allem würde ich sagen das Essen war perfekt! Der Wein: Eine Punktlandung! Der Sommelier hat uns einen weiß gekelterten Merlot empfohlen von einem Weingut aus der Gegend und was soll ich sagen, der Wein war einfach nur köstlich und hat wunderbar zum Essen gepasst. Fazit: Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend mit einem fantastischen Essen, einem vorzüglichen Wein, die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und haben sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert. Vielen lieben Dank für einen wunderschönen Jahrestag bei euch. Der nächste Tisch ist schon reserviert :-)

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not good. The portions are nicely prepared and everything looks very appetizing, but unfortunately I have to say that we weren't nearly full, which I think given the average price of 30-40€ per person. I think it's a shame (we could have easily done twice as much). Unfortunately, our dishes were mixed up so much that in the end no one knew what they were actually looking at. The Flying Noodles with chicken came out with raw chicken, which is unfortunately not acceptable. My husband was given a new portion straight away after complaining, but he had already eaten raw chicken by then, as it obviously wasn't noticeable (from the outside) and remains While we wait and see if there will be consequences for him eating it, let's hope for the best. The noodles for €22 were very nicely prepared, but unfortunately he didn't get enough. The ambience is horrible, unfortunately it's just a large noisy room in which you can't understand your own words (but the positive thing for us was that our 2-year-old son could be as loud as he wanted, and the background noise really didn't bother anyone ). The service was very friendly and accommodating and they also apologized for the noodles. Only, as described above, the waitresses didn't really know what they were bringing to the table and everything became a little chaotic and was mixed up. It can also happen by chance, but we interpreted it that way. Sushi tasted good, but all in all we wouldn't go there again because there was just too much to complain about and we didn't feel comfortable overall. Unfortunately, the portions are not that big, so it happens that you get good and tasty food for €70 with drinks, but unfortunately you don't feel full. Unfortunately, when it came to the noodles, they didn't pay too much attention to whether the chicken was cooked through properly, but it has to be said that you immediately got a new dish in which the chicken was cooked through. We were disappointed here and then went to another restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is a bit sparse. No pictures or any other decoration. The volume in the large room is so loud that you can no longer hear the person you are talking to and have to scream to be able to have a conversation at all. The waiters are trying hard and friendly, but unfortunately they mixed or swapped the orders so that as a guest you no longer know what belongs where. Unfortunately, I had the impression that the waiters didn't really know what dish was which. I expected a little more in this price segment (€30-€40 per person). I'll leave it open whether I'll visit the store again.

This time I left with very mixed feelings. Basically you can't say anything against the food - very tasty, very well prepared. BUT: Mixing up food or serving undercooked dishes shouldn't happen in this price segment, especially since half of the party had to go out for dinner afterwards because they were still hungry (despite €30-40 per person!) The ambience is also good, at least in Kreuznach, leaves a lot to be desired. When it's busy, the place has more of a pub feeling, which is mainly due to the volume. Conversations are only possible to a very limited extent. Even though the food is great, I probably won't eat there again.

The quality of the food has declined in many restaurants recently. It makes you all the more happy to be able to really enjoy the food here. Not only does it look wonderful, it tastes wonderful too. The kitchen really tries hard here. Open more branches!

Four of us ate at Katsu today. My wife and I's appetizers and fish dishes were delicious. However, with rolls I expect that they can be picked up with the sticks without falling apart... My mother-in-law's breaded turkey schnitzel was hard and dry. My father-in-law's salmon dish was swimming in sauce on a plate that was too small and was difficult for a senior to eat, especially since the knives were absolutely blunt. The Riesling I ordered was very good, but much too warm. The dessert was nothing. We moved from the hall to the square because the acoustic situation in the hall was incredibly reverberant. Some quick measures are also necessary for a temporary solution. Six standard acoustic panels under the ceiling would probably be enough. Under the tables pyramid foam etc... The female part of the service was very, very nice and helpful.

There is a diverse selection of dishes that have never disappointed after more than three visits. The staff is friendly and can answer questions about the dishes well. And last but not least, the ambience creates a welcoming atmosphere for me.

Ich war mit Freunden im Katsu abends essen. Die Inneneinrichtung ist weniger spektakulär und könnte noch einige Dekoelemente gebrauchen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, aber schien ein wenig überfordert oder hat gerade neu angefangen. Wir bestellten unsere Getränke und Gerichte und diese wurden auch in angemessener Zeit serviert! Ich hatte das Sushi Menü Crunch & Spicy gewählt. Dies wurde sehr Dekorativ serviert, jedoch zusammen mit einem zweiten Gericht auf der Platte! Leider saßen wir nicht direkt zusammen, sodass wir die Gerichte auf Tellern auseinander dividieren mussten. Geschmacklich war das Sushi hervorragend und auch die Dips sehr passend. Wir würden wieder hier essen gehen!

Dear Katsu team, I have been a loyal customer of your restaurant for some time and have always appreciated your food and service. I am all the more disappointed about the recent price increase, which in my opinion is absolutely outrageous. While I understand that inflation and rising costs may require adjustments, I do not find the magnitude of the increase justified. It seems to me that the price adjustment goes beyond what is necessary and gives the impression that customers are being taken advantage of. Man, just look at the new Maki prices compared to the old ones, I think it's a shame. I understand that the prices are being increased, but why so quickly is incomprehensible to me. We were here for the first time and left satisfied. The staff are very friendly and attentive, helpful and always have a suggestion if you want to change something about the food and drinks. The restaurant itself is (still) a bit uncomfortable. Bare, black walls, no plants, in short: Spartan and uncomfortable. Due to the lack of decoration, it doesn't really insulate noise and is therefore a bit loud. In terms of taste, however, it looks completely different. My starter (Katsu love tapas vegetarian) was bombastic. A taste explosion for the palate and the senses. The main course was also sensational (Asian ambience). Very nicely presented and excellently prepared. Even though I didn't really like my dessert (Japanese cream cheese cake with matcha), it was something different and new. If someone enjoys eating cream cheese and cheesecake (neither of which I normally do), I highly recommend this dessert. The homemade lemonade is also worth recommending and very, very tasty. All in all we were very satisfied and will definitely come back. PS: What I particularly liked was that the manager came to our table after paying and asked whether everything had been to our satisfaction. Of course I then told him everything I wrote here.

Food and service good as always. Ambience underground, the walls bare. Noise like in a train station hall. Despite half the staff... Guys, there are stylish moss panels and half-high partition walls that make the guest room quiet.

We ate very well and had extremely friendly and courteous service. I had never had entrecote with noodles and was pleasantly surprised at how Asian cuisine combined with Western cuisine.

We eat at Katsu every now and then because we like the delicious food and good cocktails. The location at the Eiermarkt is easy to reach and on warm summer evenings it's really nice to sit in the square. On our last visit we had a new waitress, which is why there were minor delays. The restaurant behaved very correctly and apologized to us several times and offered us a free drink! We found it very fair and will definitely come back!

Leide sehr enttäuschend insgesamt! Service sehr einfühlsam und zuvorkommend. Das Fleisch übermäßig stark paniert, man hatte nur Panade im Mund und sehr wenig Fleisch. Die Soße war wie eine Suppe so dünnflüssig und in der Soße stand das Porzellanschälchen mit dem Salat, sehr unappetitlich. Das Gemüse war mehr als bildest und das Getränk nicht kalt und es war ein no Name Getränk, kein Original Cola. Kein zweiter Besuch mehr, das waren wir uns alle einig.

I've never eaten as well as I did there. There were four of us eating there and we all ordered something different. For dessert we ordered the platter, which had a bit of everything. It was so damn delicious. And I don't care whether the walls are painted black or white, which others complain about here. It's about food. The staff is super friendly, the food is presented really well, everything is cooked to perfection and the taste is an explosion.

The room was a bit noisy. The food was extremely delicious! What was annoying was that the head waiter asked us if everything was okay when we were already on our way to the door in our jackets and scarves. What I really didn't like was the situation when entering the restaurant. A couple with a stroller arrived ahead of us. Unfortunately, the staff inside was unable to navigate the two of them with their strollers through the place so that there would have been enough space for the stroller. In all seriousness, a guest who was in the middle of eating had to stand up completely and move his chair aside so that the stroller could reach its destination. The guest found that extremely inappropriate, and I was also very surprised. The guest was visibly upset and left very quickly after eating.

Super lovely staff ;) and a great and friendly atmosphere there. It's always a pleasure to come back here!! I can only recommend everyone to eat here. Even if you don't prefer suhsi, you can still find something delicious to eat. The drinks and the food are very delicious.

We had dinner here. Really super nice food presentation of sushi and flying noodles. The jasmine tea and mochi ice cream were delicious. The starter: you should try summer rolls! Everything tasted delicious. It was quite loud inside due to the full shop. I would recommend making a reservation in the evening. The service was friendly. Clear recommendation.

Super friendly service, great atmosphere, very good organization of the homepage including table ordering, you are reminded of your reservation by email in the morning of the day. The menu is understandable, i.e. the dishes are well explained, and you can ask when ordering and receive explanations. We are currently spending the Pentecost weekend in Bad Kreuznach and found the fantastic restaurant via Google. Rarely eaten such super fresh sushi 🍣. My partner had the beef soup and also loved it. Our main courses were with duck breast and the curry with chicken, the meat melted in the mouth and the sauce created an explosion of flavor on the palate. A Japanese whiskey and an espresso round off the culinary meal. We will go to Bad Kreuznach again just because of the delicious food!

Katsu is a great restaurant to enjoy Asian food. The fried sushi is a blast in terms of taste and appearance. The service was super nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, despite making a reservation, we had to wait another 20 minutes for our table and then the table was right next to the exit - which in winter means that every time we open the door we are immediately exposed to the cold. The restaurant feels a bit too full with tables, so it is quite loud when all the tables are occupied. In summer, when you can eat outside, the problem is certainly unnecessary.

We were a bit disappointed. My family took me here for Father's Day. We expected the same experience as at Katsu in Ingeleim am Rhein. We were a bit disappointed. The service was excellent but the atmosphere was nil, everything was black including the ceiling, the paint was peeling off the walls, not what you would expect. My meal and my sons were excellent. But the wife's meal was a disappointment for €20, the sauce was like colored water with no taste at all and the beef was questionable and a few pieces were overcooked and of poor quality. Needless to say, we will go to Ingelheim when we feel the urge. I can only recommend it at your own risk.

I've been to Katsu several times now and am more than satisfied every time. The staff is always super nice and provides great service. It's nice to sit both inside and outside at the egg market in the old town. The sushi is a pleasure every time and the very fresh and tasty fish melts in your mouth. I can recommend a visit to this restaurant to anyone who wants delicious, high-quality sushi. I particularly recommend the sushi surprise menu (K57 Haki King) if you can't decide.

The food was great, as was the service. The only thing you can complain about is the ambience. Something echoes in the room because the walls are very bare. There is a bit of a lack of decoration, e.g. moss walls would certainly be great here.

Dear Katsu team, We were with you yesterday on the occasion of my mother's birthday and were incredibly excited! First of all, a big compliment to the kitchen. The food was great. I've never had such a delicious spring roll! Not in any restaurant yet. You can taste that they are homemade and not like other frozen goods. Everything was super fresh, crispy, fried, but not too greasy either. You can taste the love and passion in every dish and you can also notice it in the service. This one was simply outstanding. It is rare to see such a charming, motivated and courteous waiter. I would also like to say a special thank you for the fact that my intolerances were taken seriously and that I was accommodated so that I could enjoy my food without any concerns. Your restaurant and the way it is run is an enrichment for our city. We are already looking forward to the next visit. ☺️ Unfortunately I have to deduct one star for the walls, which look a bit in need of renovation. But that's really just a very small criticism. Were in the area for a weekend and fancied sushi. Very nice restaurant and first class service. The sushi was excellent. My husband had duck which was also very good. I can definitely recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience! We live in Nuremberg. It's a shame it's so far away, otherwise it would be my favorite place ❤️

We were there with a total of 11 people, including a small child. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We could choose to sit outside first and go in later, although that was more work. We immediately got play material and something to eat for our two-year-old. Our food was delicious and imaginatively prepared. The prices are absolutely reasonable. I had a surprise wine (can never resist something like that) and got a very good Pinot Gris that went perfectly with the food. All in all, a very successful evening with extremely friendly and competent staff. Gladly again!

A lady from Bad Kreuznach recommended the restaurant to us, our expectations were quite high. But that these were exceeded... Grandma's curry, whether with duck, chicken or shrimp, is something I have rarely eaten so deliciously and with such enjoyment. Ambience simple, probably Japanese, reduced to the essentials, vegetables very fresh and crunchy, sauce is a dream, staff attentive, young, nice people very hard-working. A pleasure that should not be missed. And prices absolutely cheap.

Direct hit! We were just in Bad Kreuznach for the weekend and chose Katsu by chance. The food was a dream, the vegetables were crunchy, the sauce wasn't too spicy and the tofu was well seasoned.
