We've visited this small local restaurant several times. It's a great option, especially if you'd like to sit outside. The inside is also nice, albeit small. A reservation might be advisable if the weather isn't so nice. Sometimes, however, it's also advisable during peak hours, especially when it's very nice. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. We'll be happy to return here again and again.

A few days ago, on a warm Sunday, we were there with a group of six. The restaurant was busy and had a pleasant outdoor terrace, but could have used more umbrellas. Unfortunately, it took a very long time that evening, without any advance notice. This kind of thing needs to be better organized. After more than an hour, we ordered two portions of bread and suddenly received two baskets, aioli, and dip, which were also not charged. We don't know whether this was our order or a regular appetizer that was served free of charge. In any case, something like this should come sooner if it's going to take longer. The food wasn't outstanding, but for the price, it was mostly okay. Only the fish platter was unfortunately not perfect, as the seafood wasn't properly deveined and the fish was unfortunately completely cooked. Please pay more attention here. Without complaint, however, we were asked for a schnapps or espresso on the house for everyone, which was of course a nice gesture, so it still gets 4 stars.

The spaghetti with beef strips is an absolute must. The taste and soft texture was better than what I could initially imagine. Do you want to be blown away by culinary delights? Very good food! Super friendly staff. But... the selection of dishes is not very large, but the quality is good!

We were greeted unfriendly and not spoken to particularly nicely. After a bike ride we wanted to eat and drink there around 5:15 p.m. When asked if there was still a table available (there were many free tables outside), a young waitress said unfriendly “Wait a minute” and pointed her finger at us. That probably means we should stop. Then she disappeared and didn't come back. That was the end of our visit. As you can read in the recessions, this has happened to others too. It's a shame, actually a nice place.

Today we wanted to have a beer or two in the beer garden after a short bike ride. We had asked for a place for two. First they asked for a reservation and then they said there was no space. We discovered a small table at the front entrance. When we asked, we were asked if we would like to eat. When we said just drink and please pay by card, it said "card from 20 euros" consumption! Very bad service and not exactly friendly. Once and never again, there are nicer beer gardens in Moers and you will certainly be better received there.

This was our first time here and we would love to come back. Table ordered at 5 p.m. Almost all tables were occupied by 7 p.m. on a Monday. Service was very friendly, warm and the dishes were ready surprisingly quickly. Foccaccia portion generous. Pizzas large and plenty of toppings. Salad scampi with a refreshing orange vinaigrette. Tortellini with butter and sage very tasty, but the portion size is manageable. A starter is recommended for this dish.

I was absolutely not disappointed. The seating is a bit tight, the noise level is quite high ! However, the service is simply perfect!!!!, the light is very harmonious and cozy, The food is very good, (very, very good), I'm still dreaming about the taste of the dessert... I was looking for something, the Kastanienhof is not easy to find in the dark... it was more than worth it and I enjoyed being a friend and will definitely do it again!!!

The drinks are comparatively cheap. You can also enjoy drinking an extra glass of wine😁. Overall, we liked it and would like to come back. You should make a reservation!

We were here today with 15 people and had a delicious meal in a great atmosphere. Fast and friendly service staff turned the afternoon into a great birthday meal with a round of drinks on the house.

Der Kastanienhof bietet eine charmante Atmosphäre, die perfekt für einen entspannten Abend geeignet ist. Das Ambiente, sowohl drinnen als auch draußen, ist sehr einladend und geschmackvoll gestaltet. Man sitzt schön, die Bedienung ist freundlich, aber überfordert, daher sehr lange Wartezeit. Essen war schlecht, Spaghetti mit Gambas, die absolut geschmacklos und gummiartig waren.

We were at the Kastanienhof for the second time in a few years. Unfortunately it was the same things that bothered us. Mega long waiting time, we had to ask about the bread and olives when we saw them at the neighboring tables and apart from 1 waitress, the staff seemed unmotivated and bored. I let my pasta go back once, unfortunately it was cold. For us there will probably be no repeat, even if the food ultimately tasted quite good. We couldn't understand why the rump steak, which originally included potatoes and vegetables, was charged 4.50 euros because fries and salad were requested.

Were here for the first time with family. Food really tasty, great pizza dough. I had tagliatelle with scampi and truffles, my wife had linguini with frutti di mare, my mother had pizza with her friend. We came here spontaneously after a bike tour and had a nice bite to eat outside. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely top when it comes to food and service. Always friendly and attentive. From spring to autumn you can relax and enjoy on the beautiful terrace with pond. The prices are completely okay. Also great as a destination for a bike tour. There are enough parking spaces available. We always enjoy coming here. We have also held December celebrations here with cozy fireplaces and lovingly decorated tables. Basically, it's always better to reserve, it's no longer an insider tip 😀

Pasta with scampi was ordered! When asked whether they were really scampi, they said: "Yes, of course, they're just already drained!" It came with paste with very small shrimps (estimated at 41/50)! Since scampi is about four times as expensive as shrimp, the question naturally arises as to how the calculation is made here! Especially since a dish that is served with shrimp is more expensive than scampi. I find it sad that apparently very few restaurateurs know the difference between scampi and shrimp! Or is that intentional!

Ich war dort mit meiner Tochter zum Essen eingeladen worden und bin total begeistert. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen sehr lecker 🤤 und qualitativ hochwertig. Ich hatte den Lachs mit Martini Sauce von der Tageskarte. Sehr zum empfehlen. Meine Tochter hatte Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes sie hat richtig gut gegessen was auf jeden Fall ein Zeichen der Qualität war sie ist nämlich schon wählerisch. Ich selbst habe auch Mal 2 Pommes probiert und sie waren außen knusprig und innen noch weich . perfekt 👍 Ansonsten gab es bei den anderen noch Salat, Pizza und eine Fleischplatte für 2 Personen die aber locker für 3-4 Personen gereicht hätte. Mein Fazit ich werde definitiv nochmal mit meiner ganzen Familie dort hinfahren.
