Kamin - Flammkuchen Restaurant in Mainz

Ich war froh, in dem gut besuchten Restaurant einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Karte konnte ich mir mittels QR-Code aufrufen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Getränk kam ganz fix. Der Flammkuchen ließ nicht lange auf sich warten und zerging mir auf der Zunge. Man hat geschmeckt, dass er frisch und hausgemacht war. Ich komme gerne wieder ☺️

Kann ich nur empfehlen, super Personal, gutes Essen, Mega anbieten und ein muss ist das Kellertrübes Kamin Bier! Ein Besuch Wert!

Sehr gemütlicher Ort mit einem echten Kamin in der Mitte. Es gibt dort überaus schmackhafte Flammkuchen, auch in süßen Varianten! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich!

Wir fanden die Flammkuchen sehr schmeckhaft. Das Resturant war warm und angenehm. Die Kellnerin waren sehr nett und haben sich um unsere Bestellungen gekümmert. Vielen Dank

The tarte flambées are very tasty and unusual. The open fireplace creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very nice. Unfortunately, if the store is full, you have to wait a little longer. Unfortunately the tables are very close together. If you make a reservation for three people, you will be seated at a table for two.

Don't be tempted by the many reviews, there are goodies for every review. The setup is strange and after 15 minutes I still wasn't served. I then went around the corner to “Am Holztor”.

Spontan ohne Reservierung noch einen freien Tisch am Abend bekommen. Bedienungen sehr freundlich, Auswahl groß, Atmosphäre schön gemütlich durch den offenen Kamin in der Mitte! Rechnung etwas hoch, Portionen waren aber auch groß… Flammkuchen sehr lecker belegt, nur von der italienischen Variante würde ich abraten, da die Tomaten den Teig total durchwässern…

The restaurant has a rustic charm with an open fireplace in the middle and tables spread out in plenty of space. It is not overloaded and exudes coziness. The service was super friendly and saw straight away if you liked something. The selection of dishes was very large for a restaurant that specializes in tarte flambée and the weekly menu was also very appealing. The food we ordered was freshly prepared and delivered very quickly. Unfortunately we weren't able to try our way through the dessert menu, but we'll do so later. We can only recommend making a reservation in advance, which is possible online.

Very nice location outside Alsace, in Mainz. The tarte flambées are really tasty, but the service needs to be worked on. Very well attended, so spontaneous visits could be difficult.

Food was very good. Unfortunately, the wine spritzer had a little too little sparkling water and was very limp. Otherwise the ambience and service were very good!

Hello dear fireplace team, There were 7 of us there. Everything was fine except for 1-2 little things. First of all, a very diverse selection of tarte flambées, a large selection of drinks. The combination of the Kamin Linonade didn't make sense to me, but if the house offers it that way then it's fine. The wine spritzer also seemed to be missing some fizz... All in all, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Recommended for a visit to Mainz

The restaurant is really nice with a great ambience. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food is just mediocre. We ordered a tapas platter with ham, cheese, olives, etc. Everything was bland and tasteless. Only the shrimp were ok. The tarte flambées were ok and nothing more. I won't come back. Too bad

Hello, To be honest, your reaction to my review surprised me. You blame me for not providing a reason, but perhaps you don't realize that not every review needs a novel to be legitimate. Since you obviously assume that there was “no reason” for the rating, I would like to explain to you what motivated me to make my decision: Seat: Our group had reserved well in advance and were still seated at two separate tables by the toilets. The reasoning was that a larger group (of 35 people) needed the large table. However, a look there showed that the table wasn't even fully occupied. It would have been logical to sit our smaller group at the contiguous table - especially when larger groups are split up anyway. This planning seemed disorganized and anything but hospitable. Prices: Although I had no intention of eating a tarte flambée, I still noticed your difficult-to-understand pricing. The cheapest tarte flambée with meat costs 13.50 euros, while the cheapest vegetarian tarte flambée starts at 15 euros. Meat is known to be more expensive to produce, but vegetarians simply have no choice but to take the more expensive option. It seems like you are deliberately taking advantage of this diet - not exactly a fair practice. Service: The way I was treated when ordering a tap water was unprofessional. The waitress not only obviously gave me a disparaging look, but after I asked - when everyone else had long since received their (much more expensive) drinks - she made me wait again for the same amount of time until she brought the water. The fact that my colleagues also noticed this behavior speaks volumes. Such behavior may seem insignificant to you, but it has a big impact on how welcome you feel as a guest. But – the fact that you gave me “just plain tap water” is of course incredibly generous. I should probably be particularly grateful that your team deigned to do this. Your reaction: You write that I have “no reason” for my review and imply that I only gave it to get a free coffee. This is not only wrong, but also disrespectful. FYI: I didn't even drink the coffee myself, I gave it to a colleague. I wanted to give my honest opinion - which is, after all, the purpose of a review. It would be understandable if you would like to know the reason for a negative review. But feeling directly attacked and throwing around short-sighted emotional assumptions and accusations is unprofessional. Sometimes it's worth considering a guest's perspective rather than reflexively dismissing criticism. And another little tip: While it may seem like you're trying to create a casual atmosphere, it seems inappropriate in this context and shows a lack of professionalism and respect, especially from someone who runs a restaurant

As always, we had a very nice evening in the Kamin Restaurant. The tarte flambée was very fresh and delicious and we can particularly recommend the salad with goat cheese and caramelized walnuts. The atmosphere with the fire in the fireplace is simply cozy. We'd love to come back!

Was there for dinner with friends. We were greeted warmly and shown to the table. We ordered drinks and various tarte flambées. These were very tasty and served hot. The decor is rustic and there is a fireplace in the middle of the restaurant, which makes it very warm. You should definitely reserve a table on the weekend as it was very busy.

To end a long day of shopping, my girlfriend and I settled down at Karmin. We then ordered two tarte flambées in the very rustic and pleasant atmosphere. You could taste that they were made from the heart. They were so delicious! Precisely because tarte flambée is not on the top 5 list of food choices, Karmin is a clear recommendation! Because they impress with quality and friendliness. Thank you for this great experience.

Super delicious tarte flambée and an incredible selection! Unfortunately we were too full to try one of the sweet ones, definitely next time. The ambience is really fantastic. We were lucky enough to be able to sit right next to the fireplace (better not to dress too warmly 😆) If we're in the area we'll definitely come back!!

The tarte flambées were quite tasty, but it took around 40-50 minutes from ordering to eating. The waitress gave our table a pretty nasty look because we had dared to come as a large group. They were also quite inflexible here, although we asked early on whether we could add two more chairs, it wasn't possible. At the same time, there was space for spontaneous visitors who did not reserve in advance. All in all, I wouldn't come again. We had asked in advance by phone whether it would still be possible to accommodate two more people, and we were told that there were only tables for ten :) and since we were sitting right at the door, we saw and heard that spontaneous visitors had still found space; ) there were more than two chairs free at different tables the whole time. Where there is a will, there is a way. And it would also be nice if you were a little more friendly with people, even when you're stressed 🤷‍♀️ good luck :) Apparently it's time to read the things here, there should also be time for kindness ✌🏼

First visit with friends. Super friendly service that also fulfills special requests quickly! Flammkuchen are crispy and thickly topped. Salads lush and good dressing. Tip: provide small seat cushions for the hard wooden chairs 😉

The tarte flambées taste okay, but the base seems very industrial to me: little taste, baking paper is the same size on all plates, exactly the same shape and thickness. The toppings are lush enough to fill you up, but the fireplace is inflexible for larger groups. There is only a restricted card where no one is allowed to deviate from it. A “thank you” and “please” would also be good for the service.

Why haven't I been here before? 5+ The Mainzer tarte flambée is simply great. Super comfortable even for large groups. It's worth making a reservation.

The appetizer platter for two was outstanding. The tarte flambées were very well made and delicious. Unfortunately it was very narrow and loud. We were seated at the table with four other people. We didn't think that was quite as nice.

Wir waren auf einem Montag hier und haben uns gewundert wie voll es ist - aber wir hatten reserviert 👍 Als Vorspeise hatten wir die Kürbissuppe - sehr lecker !! Dann haben wir die gemischten flammkuchen probiert - 3erlei vegetarisch und 3erlei mit Fleisch Alles super frisch von basilikum , Tomaten Rucola . Und zum Schluss ein Lob an die Bedienung alle freundlich und kompetent
