Tolles Lokal ,sehr gastfreundlich und sehr leckere und reichlich belegte Flammkuchen,sollte wir nochmal nach Mainz kommen, gerne wieder

Il locale si trova in una tranquilla stradina ai margini della città vecchia, ed è piacevole mangiare fuori se il tempo lo permette. L’interno non è particolarmente bello, ma c’è al centro un grande focolare che nella stagione fredda deve essere molto gradito. Praticamente solo flammkuchen nel menu, una sorta di pizza con la pasta sottilissima e croccante, con varie farciture. Molto buone e gustose. Servizio cordiale

Everyone was very excited about our tarte flambée! The service is also super friendly and very attentive. And there are also vegan alternatives ;) We would definitely like to come back.

The tarte flambée (original) was too light, the onions were cut too large and too raw, the salad was drowned in a balsamic soup. The ambience didn't live up to what the photos promise. Overall a disappointment and slightly overpriced at over €50 (2 people with water and 1 beer).

Four of us ate there at the weekend because we like to eat well-made tarte flambée and were excited to see what it was like there. All respect, really excellently prepared, very tasty and can be ordered in countless variations, whether with spelled base, classic vegetarian or whatever. The appetizer platter was also a real treat! You should just be hungry, because the food is not only good, but also plentiful. The price-performance ratio is also right compared to the pseudo-ready-made tarte flambées that you usually get. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Der Italiener war lecker, 3mal Topp. Der Hühnerdieb, lecker und ausreichend. Der Bauer war vor 4 Jahren besser, aber auf Grund des vollen Hauses essbar. Der Bacon war nicht knusprig. Der Krabbenkutter war flach und langweilig, da muss per Pepp ran.

Despite the restaurant's low occupancy, we were turned away - citing staffing problems (only two employees present). Luckily there were other restaurants not far away… Just to clarify, this was last Saturday evening and there were only two or three tables occupied. We think the staff just didn't feel like doing their job.

Ordered the salad... it took almost an hour until we got it... when the salad came it wasn't fresh, it was brown, it was wilted and it tasted a little like earth. Not recommendable.

Great tarte flambée in the heart of Mainz - 3 minutes from the banks of the Rhine. There are so many great varieties - it was hard to choose. But in the end it almost doesn't matter which one you choose, they're all delicious. And optionally also with spelled flour as a base. We were here on a Friday and luckily got a spot. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by. We will definitely come back when we are in Mainz again.

Great tarte flambée in the heart of Mainz!! Hey people, We visited this little tarte flambée restaurant in the old town of Mainz a few days ago and it was absolutely delicious! When you come in you can feel the rustic tavern character, the fireplace in the middle of the room and the painted portraits on the walls underline the atmosphere. The service was courteous, fast and friendly and advised us on the huge selection of different tarte flambées. We chose the farmer's and the French tarte flambée. The dough was thin and crispy and there wasn't too much topping, which you might think from the description --> great balance!! In any case, we would like to thank you for the lovely evening with you and would be happy to recommend you to others 🙏

I've been to the fireplace several times and think the food is really delicious. The only thing that's a shame is that you feel rushed while eating because you only get a short slot to eat before the table is given away... Half an hour before you're supposed to leave, the waitress urges you to leave , and people are constantly asking if you want something more to drink. So it's not as cozy as it could be.

The tarte flambée dough was good, but I found it to be a little underdone and the vegetables were very coarsely chopped. There were also a few problems with the seats and with the billing at the end. All in all ok.

Dear fireplace team. We were there on Monday April 15th, 2024 with about 6 people at around 9:00 p.m. and wanted something to drink. Even though there were clearly spaces available, we were told in a not-so-friendly manner that there were no spaces. A pity.

Sehr gemütlich, leckere und ausgefallene Flammkuchen. Wir haben die herzhaften und einen süßen mit Apfel und Calvados gegessen. Gut besuchtes Lokal, Reservierung empfehlenswert. Sehr zentral in der Altstadt gelegen.

Super nice and fast service. The drinks (in our case the homemade iced tea) were delicious. The tarte flambées are super delicious. I definitely recommend reserving in advance otherwise you won't get a seat there. All in all a nice shop in a cozy atmosphere.

The appetizer platter was amazing! The selection of tarte flambées is very large and everyone will find something. It takes some getting used to the volume, but it's still highly recommended. In winter it is most beautiful when the fireplace is burning and everyone is sitting around it. We feel very comfortable!

Top Qualität, aber der Service ist ausbaufähig! Wir waren am Karfreitag da, der Laden schon. Um 19.00 Uhr sehr voll. Nach 16 min wurde die Bestellung aufgenommen. Wir bestellten Vorspeise und Hauptgericht. Nach weiteren 25 min kam dann das Hauptgericht- ohne Vorspeise. Der Geschmack und die Zubereitung waren dann vorzüglich, leider musste auch die zweite Getränke- Runde schon fast aufgedrängt werden Insgesamt aber top Qualität!!!!

Excellent food based around Flammekuechen. Full of locals which is always a great sign. We booked which looked necessary on a busy night. We sat at the stone surround of the “Kamin” which is a log fire and chimney in the middle of the space. Thoroughly recommended.

I have never experienced something like that! I had reserved for 2 people. We were assigned a place, a board for a large group pressed against the wall. In a corner at the end of the room. Hardly any space to the right or left. We tried to get another place The restaurant is still empty. Unfortunately, everything would be reserved. However, we also had reservations. The impossible place was also advertised to us as very desirable. There was no effort to organize another table for us. . Unfortunately, the guest is not the main focus here, which is a shame. We then left the restaurant, but were greeted with indifference.

Very nice atmosphere and very tasty tarte flambée. The tarte flambées seem quite expensive, but they can also be viewed as an absolutely wholesome meal. The selection is absolutely formidable and everyone has their own unique taste. We had “the sharp one” and “the farmer” and were very excited. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy, not least thanks to the fireplace in the middle. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes to eat tarte flambée!

Catastrophe! We had ordered a table for four people by phone for Saturday at 6 p.m. and received confirmation. When we showed up at the restaurant we were told there was no reservation. Incidentally, a reservation by telephone is not possible at all. Not a word of apology, not a word of regret or even a word of “repair.” Instead, the accusation is that we don't know who answered the call. Difficult with “Restaurant Kamin, good evening”. We definitely won't go into the fireplace again.

Katastrophe! Wir hatten für Samstag 18 Uhr telefonisch einen Tisch für vier Personen bestellt und auch zugesagt bekommen. Als wir im Restaurant erschienen, wurde uns erklärt, das keine Reservierung vorläge. Eine telefonische Reservierung sei im Übrigen gar nicht möglich. Kein Wort der Entschuldigung, kein Wort des Bedauerns oder gar der "Reparatur". Sattdessen der Vorwurf, warum wir nicht wüssten, wer das Gespräch entgegengenommen hätte. Schwierig bei "Restaurant Kamin, guten Abend". Wir werden ganz sicher nicht nochmal in den Kamin gehen.
