Very good Flammkuchen, they have many varieties and the truth is that they are spectacular. Reservations are essential as it is always full. The staff is very good, at first a little cold but then they are very friendly and attentive. Really very good experience. Actual grade: 4.5/5.0

Super delicious tarte flambée and an incredible selection! Unfortunately we were too full to try one of the sweet ones, definitely next time. The ambience is really fantastic. We were lucky enough to be able to sit right next to the fireplace (better not to dress too warmly 😆) If we're in the area we'll definitely come back!!

Again we ate very well here, despite being there 25 minutes early, we got a seat straight away. Great service and nice waitresses

The tarte flambées were quite tasty, but it took around 40-50 minutes from ordering to eating. The waitress gave our table a pretty nasty look because we had dared to come as a large group. They were also quite inflexible here, although we asked early on whether we could add two more chairs, it wasn't possible. At the same time, there was space for spontaneous visitors who did not reserve in advance. All in all, I wouldn't come again. We had asked in advance by phone whether it would still be possible to accommodate two more people, and we were told that there were only tables for ten :) and since we were sitting right at the door, we saw and heard that spontaneous visitors had still found space; ) there were more than two chairs free at different tables the whole time. Where there is a will, there is a way. And it would also be nice if you were a little more friendly with people, even when you're stressed 🤷‍♀️ good luck :) Apparently it's time to read the things here, there should also be time for kindness ✌🏼

First visit with friends. Super friendly service that also fulfills special requests quickly! Flammkuchen are crispy and thickly topped. Salads lush and good dressing. Tip: provide small seat cushions for the hard wooden chairs 😉

Very nice restaurant! Very good food and friendly staff! Even though the restaurant was full, I managed to get a seat (without a reservation)! Despite the stress, the staff works without hectic and remains friendly and accommodating! Very happy again! I'm already looking forward to the next time! Stay like that!!!!

Why haven't I been here before? 5+ The Mainzer tarte flambée is simply great. Super comfortable even for large groups. It's worth making a reservation.

The tarte flambées taste okay, but the base seems very industrial to me: little taste, baking paper is the same size on all plates, exactly the same shape and thickness. The toppings are lush enough to fill you up, but the fireplace is inflexible for larger groups. There is only a restricted card where no one is allowed to deviate from it. A “thank you” and “please” would also be good for the service.

The appetizer platter for two was outstanding. The tarte flambées were very well made and delicious. Unfortunately it was very narrow and loud. We were seated at the table with four other people. We didn't think that was quite as nice.

Very nice restaurant. A huge selection of delicious and large tarte flambées, but also delicious starters (soups, salads). It's especially fun to go with several people and then try it out (share ;-)

Nice atmosphere and very courteous service! Food is okay, the tarte flambée could be crispier. It's nothing special and not entirely justified for the high price.

Wir waren auf einem Montag hier und haben uns gewundert wie voll es ist - aber wir hatten reserviert 👍 Als Vorspeise hatten wir die Kürbissuppe - sehr lecker !! Dann haben wir die gemischten flammkuchen probiert - 3erlei vegetarisch und 3erlei mit Fleisch Alles super frisch von basilikum , Tomaten Rucola . Und zum Schluss ein Lob an die Bedienung alle freundlich und kompetent

The food is really delicious and there are many different and unusual tarte flambées to choose from. The price-performance ratio is really great and fair. From the outside, the restaurant looks a bit inconspicuous and rather uninviting. However, the inside is great and the staff is friendly and attentive. We'd love to come back!

I can't understand the bad recessions at all. We just had dinner there and were extremely impressed. Not only was the food perfect (we had 2 tarte flambées; “the cheesy one” and “the stupid one”). The service was also so friendly and accommodating. We felt really comfortable. We will definitely come back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

My daughter and I ate at Kamin for the first time and were not disappointed. There was a wide selection of food and drinks and, to our delight, vegetarian and vegan options. It tasted excellent and the Hugo was delicious too. Would love to come back.

We were there today with a group, a special shift was done especially for us, super friendly team, great atmosphere, very tasty, diverse and creative selection of tarte flambées. Everything went really quickly and everyone was really excited. Absolutely recommended!

The best Flammkuchen I have ever had! Period! This is a cute little place with very friendly staff and a very charming interior. I had Der Mainzer which was sublime!

Flammkuchen can be found in almost all restaurants serving German cuisine in the western part of Germany, but here they are the main dish and are offered in many different flavours. They are good and filling, much better than the pizza that is generally offered by Italian restaurants in Germany. I would stay here again

Friendly and courteous service and very tasty, lavishly topped tarte flambées. So everything was great!

It’s writing on Google maps that the restaurant is closing at 11pm but the kitchen closes around 9pm. The service didn’t tell us that the kitchen was going to close, it’s pity the communication isn’t doing properly. Otherwise the food was good, for what we were able to order anyways.

Il locale si trova in una tranquilla stradina ai margini della città vecchia, ed è piacevole mangiare fuori se il tempo lo permette. L’interno non è particolarmente bello, ma c’è al centro un grande focolare che nella stagione fredda deve essere molto gradito. Praticamente solo flammkuchen nel menu, una sorta di pizza con la pasta sottilissima e croccante, con varie farciture. Molto buone e gustose. Servizio cordiale

Reservation online no problem. We were spontaneously able to eat outside instead of inside. Unfortunately the tables are on the...street with little traffic. It was ok at the time. If you want vegan spread instead of the usual creme fraiche, you have to pay €3 extra. Too much for my taste. There are delicious choices for tarte flambée with various options. I'm guessing the floor wasn't self-made. The price is a little too high for that. All in all, the visit is worth it, although it's not that cheap. Oh one more thing...a wine spritzer was ordered. The waitress said it was a rose, but a white wine was brought.

The tarte flambée (original) was too light, the onions were cut too large and too raw, the salad was drowned in a balsamic soup. The ambience didn't live up to what the photos promise. Overall a disappointment and slightly overpriced at over €50 (2 people with water and 1 beer).

Four of us ate there at the weekend because we like to eat well-made tarte flambée and were excited to see what it was like there. All respect, really excellently prepared, very tasty and can be ordered in countless variations, whether with spelled base, classic vegetarian or whatever. The appetizer platter was also a real treat! You should just be hungry, because the food is not only good, but also plentiful. The price-performance ratio is also right compared to the pseudo-ready-made tarte flambées that you usually get. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Der Italiener war lecker, 3mal Topp. Der Hühnerdieb, lecker und ausreichend. Der Bauer war vor 4 Jahren besser, aber auf Grund des vollen Hauses essbar. Der Bacon war nicht knusprig. Der Krabbenkutter war flach und langweilig, da muss per Pepp ran.

Despite the restaurant's low occupancy, we were turned away - citing staffing problems (only two employees present). Luckily there were other restaurants not far away… Just to clarify, this was last Saturday evening and there were only two or three tables occupied. We think the staff just didn't feel like doing their job.

Wollten heute gerne Flammenkuchen essen, das Lokal war fast leer, nur zwei Personen und wir wurden abgewiesen mit der Begründung, dass sie nur zu zweit sind und keine Gäste mehr bewirten können 😟 wir gingen enttäuscht in ein anderes Restaurant und werden es dort auch nicht mehr versuchen

Ordered the salad... it took almost an hour until we got it... when the salad came it wasn't fresh, it was brown, it was wilted and it tasted a little like earth. Not recommendable.

Great tarte flambée in the heart of Mainz - 3 minutes from the banks of the Rhine. There are so many great varieties - it was hard to choose. But in the end it almost doesn't matter which one you choose, they're all delicious. And optionally also with spelled flour as a base. We were here on a Friday and luckily got a spot. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by. We will definitely come back when we are in Mainz again.
