Wow, I found a hidden gem in Munich. Short trip to Japan! Very authentic food, excellent service. The prices are a little higher than at normal sushi restaurants, but with this quality they are absolutely justified. I would very much like to come back. 🫶

Top tier Japanese food in Munich. The mackerel starter must not be missed. All sushi was of high quality. Great whisky selection as well. Beer is a little limited and expensive, I’d like to see a draft option (vom Fass) but this is still 5/5.

We have been regular customers at Kaito for years because we like the sushi here, even if the price is extremely high. We also supported the store through takeout during the pandemic. We wanted to reserve a table today. After all the information had been recorded (time, number of people, names, etc.) we were suddenly told that it would no longer be possible to reserve a table for the next few months after we said that we were coming with two children and said the ages of the children. It's a real shame that Kaito has become so anti-family. Note: Kaito tried to block this review.

I wanted to treat my daughter, who was visiting here on college break, with an authentic, classic Japanese restaurant and I must say we were very happy with the choice. She’s passionate about Japan and has tried so many restaurants so far. Well, she said this one serves great 🍱 with fresh ingredients. I agree. The decor, then, transports back to Japan, as well as the friendliness of the staff. They warn you that since the sushi chef prepares from scratch, you’ve to be prepared to wait, but you don’t wait that long in the end. And even so, it’s such a lovely place that you don’t mind. Thumbs up!

I've been there (irregularly) for years and it's always very, very good. In my opinion one of the best sushi restaurants in Munich. The fish is always fresh. There is a selection of toro, and in season also sea urchin. Boss does everything on command at the bar when you sit there. Very good sakes. Yes it is expensive, but the price is normal for good sushi. My big concern is that people don't appreciate this quality. When the typical German thinks of sushi, he thinks of salmon and cucumber maki with mayonnaise and fried onions on top. And everything with half price Caipirinha during happy hour. Luckily it's not that kind of shop. Accordingly, I almost always get a table without a reservation. I wish the new landlord all the best, he's doing a great job. I would go there more often if parking wasn't so difficult there. Otherwise, absolutely an alternative to Toshi, Nobu, at least in terms of quality.

Finally found a restaurant with this authentic traditional Japanese sushi recipe First-rate [strong][strong][strong] The product is incomparable. The food is fresh and the cooking is authentic. The service is very good. All the service staff are Japanese. It feels like I have been to Japan. Recommended Recommended Tuna, squid, Wagyu, and sea urchin are all must-eats.

Worst Service ever. Wir waren 20 Leute und hatten ein Menü für EUR 60,- pro Person bestellt. Die Speisen waren mittelmäßig von der Qualität. Das schlimmste war jedoch das Verhalten des Restaurantbesitzers. Er hat uns zum Wein nur Wassergläser hingestellt. Als wir uns dann Weingläser holten, hat er uns diese wieder weggenommen und den Inhalt in Wassergläser umgeschüttet. So ein Verhalten habe ich noch nie erlebt insbesondere nicht von einem Japaner. Ich werde hier keinen Fuß mehr reinsetzen.

Sehr unfreundliches Personal, die meisten sprechen kaum bis kein Deutsch, Überteuertes Essen für mäßige Qualität. Servicekräfte werden vor Augen von Gästen mehrmals vom Chef geschimpft. Das hat für mich die ganze Ambiente kaputt gemacht.

뮌헨에 스시랑 사시미 만족할만한 곳 없었는데, 정말 맛있게 먹었어요. 가격은 비싸지만 독일에서 주도로, 오도로 먹을 수 있다는 것 만으로도 만족해용 <3 그리고 음식도 다 맛있었구 일본인 분들이 운영하시는것 같아서 더 좋았어요!

Es ist sehr schwierig, in München ein einigermaßen authentisches japanisches Restaurant zu finden. Das Kaito versucht, auf diesem Weg zu gehen, aber es gelingt nur unvollständig. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und bemüht, das Ambiente bietet zahlreiche gemütliche Tische und das Essen hat das übliche Programm, wobei die Preise etwas über dem Niveau der Küche liegen und man in Auswahl und Arrangement etwas mehr Qualität gewünscht hätte. Das Kaito enttäuscht nicht, aber es begeistert auch nicht. Vielleicht hatten wir auch zu hohe Erwartungen.

Leider ist Kaito eine Enttäuschung für mich. Sehr teuer aber das Essen hier ist total langweilig. Der Anteil vom Reis in einer Nigiri ist zu wenig.

Ein cooles traditionelles japanisches Restaurant! Sushi Bereich vergleich zu den anderen lokalen in München finde ich persönlich mittelmäßig(Preis-Leistungverhältnis nicht wirklich gut). Aber anderen Speisen sind im Gegensatz super!

it was a so nice night, we end up joined a live show night by accident. the food was super fresh and great, very authentic , staffs were also nice and sweet ( they can’t speak German smoothly but i don’t mind) . Will absolutely back. Super recommend

Ein von Japanern geführtes Restaurant mit sehr gutem Sushi, insbesondere Lachs, Hamachi und Hotate Nigiri waren sehr gut. Toro und Chutoro waren ok aber etwas “sehnig” für den Preis, daher nur 4 Sterne. Negitoro Maki als Alternative war sehr gut. Uns hat es sehr gefallen, dass automatisch Wasabi dem Nigiri und Maki beigemengt wurde wie es in einem Omakase in Japan üblich ist. Der Service war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Insgesamt hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Klar ist es etwas teurer wie der “Durchschnitt” aber dafür ist die Qualität sehr gut.

Decidiamo di mangiare del sushi a Monaco, consigliati da un locale ci ritroviamo nel Kaito… L’arredamento è quello tipico di una baita di montagna 😂 Ordiniamo subito da bere, in Germania funziona così, neanche sei entrato nel ristorante e subito ti portano da bere, birra naturalmente 🍺 poi, con calma, puoi ordinare il cibo… Ecco si, con calma, perché se decidi di mangiare al Kaito non devi avere fretta ne tantomeno fame… perché chi, con le sue ditina affusolate, preparerà il tuo piatto è la persona più calma di questo mondo… E così passano i minuti le ore e i giorni e tu inizi a pensare che il braccio del tuo vicino potrebbe essere un’ottima alternativa per cena. Insomma, i tempi sono eterni, se proprio deciderai di mangiare al Kaito portati un panino da casa!!! Ma come si mangia? メガネをかけて男の店員とメガネをかけた店員の人の態度には毎回？？？です。態度が顔と言動に出ていて、少々不愉快になります。 料理は美味しいです。 刺身の質はミュンヘンの同格日本料理屋の中ではやや劣るかもしれません。

どれもスコットランドよりハイレベルでした。 ミュンヘンに住みたい！

Nous avons pris le menu, très bien équilibré et dont la quantité vous laisse rassasié. La vraie qualité japonaise est au rendez-vous, les sashimis ont une fraîcheur et texture qu’on ne rencontre jamais dans les pléthores de faux restaurants japonais qui inondent nos villes, et les sushis et nigiris fondent en bouche. Nous avons aussi pris la dégustation de saké (froid) qui nous a permis de découvrir un peu ce produit. Notre préféré est celui de Kyoto. Ambiance authentique japonaise, très reposante. Service charmant. Nous recommandons vivement ce restaurant, qui niveau qualité/prix est extrêmement correct, la qualité des produits est au rendez-vous. On va y retourner, souvent, c’est certain, c’était trop bon.

I wanted a soup to my surprise none of the soups come with meat & one comes with fish. I ordered the Kake Udon and Chicken Teriyaki it was absolutely what I needed. Food tastes good, the atomsphere and the team reminded me of my visit to Japan. Only down side is its a bit pricey - my mangoschorle was 6€ and other things on the menu looked quite pricey but if they taste as good as what I ate then I would Indulge myself again. Two soups, Teriyaki chicken + Mangoschorle 45€

1 Stern weil man 0 nicht geben kann. Einmal und nie wieder. Das schlechteste japanisches Essen in München. Diese Produkte so zu servieren ist einfach eine Frechheit.

Really bad service, average tasting food. We were a group of 7. We waited for a long time to be served, but what topped it up was that at the end of the night our bill couldn’t be split so everyone pays their share- seemed more that they were just rushing to close at night rather than offer good service. Average tasting food, bland and overpriced.

Definitely one of the better Japanese options out in Munich. The staff is Japanese and the food is definitely good. I had the €80 dinner special which comes with a small appetizer, sashimi, fish and chicken teriyaki, and sushi course. Pretty satisfied overall. It is regular sushi and not edomae so don't expect any marinade or special preparation for the sushi. It may not be fancy but it does a solid job for Japanese food. Will come again if/when I get tired of Bavarian food.

Like in Tokyo, fish is so fresh and sushi well done. The wood smell inside is too hard to stay a couple of hours.

I've lived in Japan for 4 years and I must say this is the most authentic Japanese restaurant that specialises in sushi and sashimi. The decor of the restaurant instantly transports one back to Japan. The hospitality was also great.

Best sushi I've tried in Munich.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist seit dem neuen Inhaber massiv gesunken. Ikura und andere halb so groß als vorher bei viel zu hohem Preis.das macht gar keinen Spaß mehr. Man fühlt sich verarscht.

Si quieres tener una experiencia japonesa auténtica, ¡este es el lugar para ti! La calidad de la comida es excelente (el pescado y los productos son súper frescos), la elección del menú se centra en lo "auténtico y básico" sin pensar en algunos rollos alternativos que nunca verá en Japón. Excelente variedad de platos (no solo sushi), un interior encantador que te hace sentir como si estuvieras en Japón y el servicio también es bueno. Restaurante familiar, lleno de clientes japoneses. . ¡realmente bueno! La única lástima es que no hay lugar para sentarse afuera
