Basically a nice restaurant with a nice ambience, the seating urgently needs to be changed. The sofa and bench are dirty and terribly worn out. Food was ok, unfortunately far too little for our men. What is absolutely not right is the prices are above average and simply not enough. Also not okay, at 12 euros for a glass of wine there should be 0.2l in the glass and no less. UPDATE on the owner's comment: What I will never understand is that the operator is incapable of criticism. The upholstery definitely needs to be replaced, especially if dirt can no longer be removed, as a guest this is unacceptable at these prices. And the calibration mark on the wine glasses is at 0.2l POINT. It was nice that the operator sat at our table and knew how much wine was in the glass. So please accept criticism and not discuss it!

Prinzipiell ein schönes Lokal mit schönem Ambiente, es sollte mal dringend die Bestuhlung geändert werden. Sofa und Sitzbank sind dreckig und furchtbar durch gesessen. Essen war ok leider für unsere Männer viel zu wenig. Was absolut nicht passt sind die Preise überdurchschnittlich teuer und dafür einfach zu wenig. Auch nicht in Ordnung, bei 12 Euro für ein Glas Wein sollten auch bitte 0,21 im Glas sein und nicht weniger. JPDATE zum Kommentar des Besitzers: Was ich nie verstehen werde ist das der Betreiber nicht kritikfähig ist. Die Polster müssten definitiv erneuert werden, gerade wenn Schmutz nicht mehr entfernt werden kann, als Gast ist das bei diesen Preisen nicht hinnehmbar. Und die Eichmarkierung auf den Weingläser ist bei 0.21 PUNKT. Schön das der Betreiber mit an unserem Tisch saß und weiß wieviel Wein im Glas war. Also bitte mal Kritik annehmen nicht diskutieren

Das Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Der Preis lohnt sich wirklich sehr, wenn man sieht wie lecker das Essen ist.

We went to the Wittekind coffee house because we wanted to invite guests there in the new year and wanted to try out what it was like beforehand. First of all noted; The food was excellent and really worth the high price. The two of us had reserved a table, were there 5 minutes early and were promptly asked to go outside again to wait; which was very uncomfortable at -1°C. Back inside, we sat at the front of the entrance and observed with some surprise how unclear it was about who greeted the newly arrived guests; this constantly caused unnecessary confusion. Personally, I prefer it if the service staff corresponds to the price level of the menu; is dressed uniformly and neatly and does not wear jeans and sneakers. Above all, the service should be polite, courteous and well organized and it wasn't. According to the artist, the art on display is about “making the invisible visible.” We think it could have remained hidden.

Trotz Vorbestellung war kein Tisch frei. Es wurde Platz geschaffen, leider direkt an der Tür, so dass wir die ganze Zeit neben wartenden Gästen saßen. Das Essen ist gut, der Service dauert auch bei Getränke sehr lange. Ich würde wieder hingehen, aber noch stärker auf einen Sitzplatz nicht im vorderen Bereich achten.

We ate there today and it tasted really great and delicious. However, several points deducted for the service. You will be thrown out and forced to pay when it gets close to closing time (30 minutes) beforehand! In addition, you receive poor service. Cutlery is passed across the table and is unfriendly. Really bad service for this high restaurant location!

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier. Es gab eine interessante Zusammenstellung der Gerichte (karamellisierte Pilze zum Carpaccio). Wir hatten uns für eine Bowl, für Sülze, für ein Sandwich und besagtes Carpaccio entschieden. Gerichte hatten eine angemessene Portionsgröße und waren lecker. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm, gemütlich. Die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und schnell. Ein dickes Lob. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Man kann in einem sehr stilvollen Café-Haus- Ambiente vorwiegend auf den typischen Bugholzstühlen sitzen und wird überaus freundlich bedient. Das Essen ist sehr geschmackvoll und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis eher im höheren Segment. Das Lammschnitzel für 36 Euro ist schmackhaft, wobei die Qualität des Fleisches nicht an die Höhe des Preises herankommt. Sowohl der gereichte Salat als auch die Kürbissuppe sind sehr gut.

A 750g loaf of bread for €6.90 is a very steep price. If you find out at home that the bread weighs 150g less, that's pretty cheeky on the part of the bakery.

Went here with a reservation before going to the theater early on Saturday evening. We were inspired by the tempting image shots for the café on the website in order to have a high-quality gastronomic experience there. The prices on the menu also allow for these expectations. Well - I'll keep it short: the café's external appearance and internet advertising are more appearance than reality. You come straight into the dining room via the terrace entrance, where you sit on a presentation plate so to speak and have very little of a coffee house atmosphere. It is also unpleasant for arriving guests to immediately look at the plates of the guests present. It is very loud in all rooms. Our place was in the back area. This one was a little nicer with the very closely lined up 2-seater tables on one side and the slightly cozier looking larger tables on the other side. The service was nice and friendly, the food came promptly and was of good quality - but here too: less contemporary, upscale writing on the menu for the ultimately normal products on offer would be closer to what is served to the guests. It is NOT a gourmet temple, even if one would like to give the impression and the very high price level suggests this. Occasionally you could visit the café again, but there are also other good alternatives in the city with solid and honest offers.

Excellent in every way! Great location, delicious pasta and a remarkable selection of cakes. The service was extremely friendly. Apparently very popular - rightly so - a reservation is recommended!

Wir waren jetzt mehrmals im Kaffeehaus Wittekind und waren wieder sehr zufrieden. Die Möglichkeit einen Tisch online zu reservieren finde ich toll. Auch kann man mit Karte bezahlen. Die Angebot an Kuchen und Getränken ist toll, jeder findet was. Weiter so!

We are visiting this place quite often and usually go for Cremant, coffee & cakes. The staff is superb friendly, and the food and drinks are always awesome. We love to sit outside on the terrace. Payment by card is possible, and the restrooms are clean. We park our bicycles right in front of the terrace on the other side of the road. Folks are children and dog friendly. Online reservation possible via their web page or open table all. Thank you and see you soon.

We came here on a Sunday morning with a reservation and sat outside. We were served quickly and never had to wait long. The employees were very attentive and super friendly. Everything tasted incredibly delicious, from the freshly squeezed orange juice to the pancakes to the bread and rolls. Our table was a little too small for the whole meal. We would also have liked to snack on the large, attractive-looking selection of cakes, but unfortunately we were already too full for that.

Yes. We had it particularly good. We arrived late and were almost alone with the delicious food and the fine retro atmosphere.

We were admitted through the street entrance with my 95-year-old mother, who was in a wheelchair because she had difficulty walking, although we arrived a little earlier than ordered. The food was very good, we really liked the atmosphere as well as the service. This one was absolutely excellent. Even if the price is a bit high there, we will eat there again and can only recommend the restaurant.

We had pre-ordered breakfast for several people. The reservation went smoothly. The selection is very extensive and there is something delicious for everyone. Two days before we were contacted again to ask whether the reservation would remain the same. I thought it was great. We were greeted very friendly on Sunday morning. The breakfast we had selected in advance was prepared and served to us immediately. I have to tell you, that was awesome. The presentation, a feast for the eyes. Everything was very, very tasty. The fish is super fresh and delicious. The cheese selection is also great. The eggs were perfect. The salads are very fresh and crunchy. The selection of rolls was great and the bread was super delicious. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. Everything your heart and palate desires. I can tell you that you have to try it. Big bee to all employees. Conclusion for us, it was the first time but definitely not the last time for us.

Service and ambience are really good. The sundae for around €11 was very small and not really worth the money. The taste was okay. The prices are generally very high compared to other Halle restaurants and cafés. I've eaten and drank much better in other places at a much cheaper price.

We came for lunch on Saturday. The service was very friendly. However, we found the price level to be very high. We had requested parmesan cheese with the pasta dish. This was calculated separately. We were a little disappointed.

Had breakfast there again today after a long time. You can have a mixed breakfast for 1 person for €25 if the quality is right. What was offered here today was far below good quality. 2 slices of salami, 2 pieces of liver sausage, 3 transparent slices of semi-hard cheese and 4 slices of Camembert. Next to it are cucumber strips, a small salad with sweetener in the dressing and a bowl of blueberry jam. Nothing special in terms of taste. Unfortunately, the breakfast quality has noticeably decreased in favor of profit.

On the terrace near the Saale, the coffee house offers exceptional coffees, sophisticated cakes and warm cuisine that offers a highlight for every palate. The portions are large and deliciously garnished. The staff is very attentive.

Not really well organized. After everyone has had cake and coffee, the iced coffee arrives late. I don't understand why the cake comes to the table enclosed in foil. Apple strudel without ice cream is served cold, but was then made warm upon request.

Quite OK, the flair and offer were better. Foil under the cake is not nice and, above all, not environmentally friendly. Selection of vegetarian dishes too small.

The staff was friendly and unobtrusive. There is a construction site in the garden next door, but otherwise a pleasant atmosphere. Ice cream and drinks were good, but unfortunately the cake was not what you would imagine as a homemade cake. Black Forest cherry and Wittekind cake is more like 3 out of 5 stars.

Really a very nice coffee house with an exceptional selection of cakes and tarts. The cappuccino brulee alone was something special. Located fairly close to the Saale, also on the street and still very quiet. The staff is pretty on point. You didn't have to wait very long

Came here after a long day and it was definitely worth it! The staff was really nice, the seating area outside was amazing and surrounded by trees and the food was delicious. We ordered the Alfredo and Carbonara pasta and they were both exactly what I wanted. Very creamy and flavorful 😍 Even tho I usually don’t like Carbonara it was so good! Then we ended it with an espresso and ice cream which were both high quality. Highly recommended.

Wir waren vor einem Jahr dort und hatten das Cafe gut in Erinnerung. Man sitzt in dem Anbau sehr schön, draußen sollte es bei gutem Wetter auch Bestens sein. Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Es gibt 2 relevante Kritikpunkte. Für 24,50 Euro für ein gemischtes Frühstück darf man mehr erwarten. Es werden einfachste Zutaten präsentiert. 2 kleine Scheiben Billigsalami, 6 kleine Scheiben Weichkäse und 2 Scheiben billigen Schnittkäse. 1 Ei, etwas Obst. Das ist für den Preis unterirdisch. Verbunden mit einer Wartezeit von 40 Minuten. Diese beiden Punkte sind stichhaltig und zwingen uns trotz vieler Vorteile nach Alterntaiven zu suchen. Der Preis wäre bei entsprechender Qualität ok, war es leider nicht. Man kann in der Zwischenzeit wunderbare Käse kaufen, tollen Schinken und auch beste Salami.

Wir waren zu einer optimalen Zeit dort und es war sehr angenehm auch von der Atmosphäre. Essen und Personal super. Manchmal könnte die Bestellung etwas schneller aufgenommen werden, zumal ja nicht viel Gäste vor Ort waren. Machen Sie weiter so. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne, auch meine Eltern von außerhalb:).

If you have low blood pressure, a real recommendation... Snippy behind the counter, a clever lady always has the last word here, veal schnitzel for €36, a brawn + side dish for €24 and a thin Aperol spritz round off a visit here. The cake was okay!

Had a burger today. The menu said brioche bun... The bun was rock hard and inedible. I also felt like the sauce and the bun weren't fresh together. Because it was already dry. Wir waren zum Frühstück hier;das Café hinterließ einen etwas zwiespältigen Eindruck. Es ist in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Saale gelegen , hat eine schöne Terrasse und stilvoll eingerichtete Räume. Die Qualität der Speisen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung freundlich und flink. Uns gefiel nicht: Hatten einen frisch gepressten Orangensaft bestellt , dann erwarte ich auch einen frisch gepressten und nicht einen , der schon einige Stunden im Kühlschrank steht. Dann: Das kleine Glas Leitungswasser wurde mit 1,50€ berechnet. Da ist man nur noch sprachlos ,um so mehr als das gesamte Preisniveau recht gehoben ist. Der an sich positive Eindruck wird dadurch doch erheblich geschmälert.
