Wir waren zu ersten Mal im Alten Postamt zur Herren Runde. Es war sehr angenehm, Service top und das Essen sehr lecker. Wir werden öfter kommen.

War dort zu ersten Mal Essen. Es war sehr reichlich und gut. Das drumherum hat gut gepasst und der Service war gut und freundlich.

Preis/Leistung top, lecker Essen und toller Service - ich komme gern wieder.

Urige Lokation mit sehr gutem Essen und echt freundlichem Personal. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt Dankeschön

Ein toller Laden bei dem auf Sonderwünsche freundlich eingegangen wird, das Essen ist hausgemacht und für den Preis mehr als großzügig portioniert. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr aufmerksam. Gerne und immer wieder!

Die Qualität des Essens schwankt leider extrem. Einmal ist alles in Ordnung und schön anzusehen und beim nächsten Besuch ist die Hälfte des Essens kalt, die andere verbrannt und alles lieblos angerichtet. Cellophan- oder Alufolie hatte ich beides schon im Essen und besonders freundlich wird man dort auch nicht behandelt. Preisnachlass oder Rücknahme des Essens wird erstmal verweigert außer man nervt so richtig rum. Es ist schade, denn die Lage ist gut und das Ambiente eigentlich auch. Im Sitzbereich bei den Toiletten stinkt es zwar nach faulen Eiern, sodass man da nicht sitzen mag (es wurde schon vor vor Ewigkeiten als ich mal fragte auf einen Schaden beim Abwasser hingewiesen aber sie scheinen sich nicht gerade ein Bein auszureissen das mal zu beheben). Alles in allem finde ich dass Qualität des Essens, des Angebotes und des Service immer mehr sinken – nur die Preise steigen. Schade aber ich werde dort nicht mehr hingehen. :/

Habe fish & chips bestellt und danach ging es mir nicht gut. Ich bin dann in der Nacht aufgewacht von Zittern und schweiß Ausbrüchen und musste mich übergeben solange bis alles wieder draussen war, dann gings mir langsam wieder besser, der nächste tag war jedoch noch davon geprägt.. Ich war heute nochmal da um davon zu berichten, denn auch das Salat dressing hatte eine seltsame glibberartige Konsistenz… und eventuell eine Entschädigung zu bekommen. Mir wurde allerdings kein Verständnis entgegengebracht, sondern alles auf die Hitze geschoben. Mir ging es mit der Hitze jedoch gut, nur das essen dort hat mir nicht bekommen. Schade ! Das Risiko werde ich nicht nocheinmal eingehen. Antwort auf eure Reaktion: langsam fängt es an mich wirklich wütend zu machen. schon gegen Ende des Essens hat es angefangen, dass ich mich komisch fühlte. Ich dachte mir erst nichts dabei. danach ging es den restlichen Abend bergab mit meiner Verfassung, was dann in nächtlichem Übergeben endete und erst wieder bergauf ging, nachdem ich mich vollständig eures Essens entleert hatte. Also muss etwas mit eurem Essen gewesen sein, denn mir ging es davor gut und auch jetzt (2 Tage danach) wieder gut, wobei manchmal immer noch ein komischer übler Nachgeschmack von eurem Essen hochkommt. Mir jetzt einreden zu wollen, dass es nicht an eurem Essen gelegen haben kann, ist gaslighting. Auch der Radler hat nach Spülmittel geschmeckt, woraufhin ihr auch meintet, das kann nicht sein. es kann aber immer sein, dass Spülmittelreste im Geschirr bleiben, ausser man spült sie nur mit Wasser. Also irgendetwas scheint ihr zu verheimlichen, sonst würdet ihr nicht so versteift darauf bestehen, dass ihr keinen fehler gemacht haben könntet. denn Fehler können immer passieren, nur wie man damit umgeht, zeigt dann, was für ein Mensch man ist. Ob man Verantwortung dafür übernimmt oder eben nicht wie in eurem Fall. und da weiß ich nun ganz sicher, dass ich in euren Laden nicht nochmal gehen werde, da mir null Empathie entgegengebracht wird, im Gegenteil, Borniertheit und Arroganz. Das Radler wolltet ihr auch nicht austauschen, ich musste mir dann etwas anderes bestellen und beides zahlen, obwohl ich nur einen Schluck vom Spüli-Radler genommen hatte! Unverschämtheit !!!

Gastro hat es nicht leicht zur Zeit. Alles wird teurer, dementsprechend haben die Leute weniger Geld, mit höheren Preisen höhere Erwartungen und mit Google Bewertungen fühlt sich jede zweite Person wie der Rächer der Gerechten (meist jedoch hauptsächlich selbstgerecht). Ich liebs einfach in der Post, vor allem weil der Service mit Herz dabei ist. Kriege nirgends schneller ein Bier. Essen bisher immer top. Und auch immer sättigend. Weiter so ❤️ Nur zur disco ist es mir zu laut haha aber man kann nicht alles haben

Alles Top! Man fühlt sich gleich rundum wohl.

Gute Kneipe, gute Preise, lecker Essen, sehr saubere WC Anlage.

Das Steak au four hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Einziger Mangel. Dazu gehören klassisch grüne Erbsen und kein Salat. Ansonsten hätte es beim Essen die vollen fünf Sterne gegeben.

Wir waren 8 Personen. Schnitzel und Käsespätzle. Das Fleisch war zerrig und teilweise ungenießbar. Ein Teil der Bestellung wurde vergessen. Insgesamt war unsere Erfahrung so, dass wir hier nicht mehr einkehren. Positiv war der freundliche Service.

Erst mal schade das man nicht mehr Sterne vergeben kann. Ich würde 10 Sterne und mehr geben. Wir waren das Wochenende im Bergzoo in Halle und danach hungrig und suchten ein Restaurante, per Zufall stießen wir auf das Alte Postamt. Gesagt getan sind wir da hin. Sehr freundliches Personal und eine urige (vermutlich irisch) Einrichtung. Das Essen für den Preis, schon eine große Portion, man wird auf jedenfall satt und man sollte Hunger mitbringen. 😀 Auch der Preis überraschte uns mit Getränken und Essen für 4 Personen blieben wir unter 100,- €. Das Essen war für den Preis und die Menge wahnsinnig lecker. Wenn wir wieder ein Ausflug nach Halle machen, wissen wir wo wir unsere Mägen füllen werden. 😀

Ich war im Alten Postamt zum ersten Mal essen und bin begeistert! Vorspeise: Soljanka. schön würzig, angenehm säuerlich und genau so, wie sie sein soll. Hauptgericht: Hähnchenschnitzel. Was soll ich sagen….einfach perfekt. Außen knusprig, innen saftig. Auch die Beilagen haben super dazu gepasst und alles war frisch und sehr lecker. Man spürt, wie viel Engagement und Leidenschaft nicht nur hinter der Küche, aber auch vorn beim Service steckt. Ich komme auf jeden Fall gerne wieder und kann es absolut weiterempfehlen 💫

Ausgezeichnete traditionelle deutsche Küche mit sehr großen Portionen, ich war immer zufrieden mit dem Essen hier und werde immer wiederkommen.

Das Alte Postamt ist immer einen Besuch wert! Hier bekommt man eine große Auswahl an leckerer deutscher Küche, schnellen und freundlichen Service sowie faire Preise für große Portionen. Auch die große Vielfalt an Fassbieren und die Tatsache, dass man drinnen rauchen kann, zieht viele Gäste an. Für Nichtraucher gibt es einen ebenso einladenden, separaten Bereich. Alles in allem also eine große Empfehlung!

Unfreundliches, passiv-aggressives Personal und das Murphy's-Bier war schlecht gezapft.

The schnitzel is always delicious! The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Anyone looking for a nice, old, traditional German pub with delicious German dishes will feel right at home here! I enjoy going there often and will definitely be back!

An evening at the Post is always worthwhile. The cozy atmosphere invites you to relax and linger, the service is consistently friendly and efficient, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. You can always find a table among the regulars, card players, and walk-ins. The newly renovated non-smoking area, in particular, takes the overall comfort level to a whole new level. Definitely a recommendation if you're from Halle or visiting the area :)

I couldn't taste the garlic in the garlic soup; it tasted more like vegetable broth. The service was very nice and friendly. However, the hygiene left something to be desired. The food was so-so; although everything was freshly prepared, the mushroom cream sauce tasted a bit sour.

What was that all about? The three of us entered the room, which was very busy. There were two servers. All the tables were occupied, but the bar was completely empty. We asked if we could sit down, because it's always better to ask first. The answer was: "Absolutely not, we can't manage it. Well, actually, you can sit down, but we can't serve you." The response: "OK." No, not OK. We've been coming and going here for years, and we've never experienced anything like this! It was arrogant and rude. If you put chairs in front of a bar, you can sit there, right? Or so you'd think... Absolutely not recommended, never again... It might sound harmless, but it wasn't at all. The woman's behavior was cheeky and condescending.

A truly wonderful pub in the best possible way. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. There's a separate, smaller area for non-smokers. Ideal for a convivial evening.

Our visit today was very disappointing… We felt completely ripped off. After an older couple at the next table were asked to move because they had taken a seat at a table for eight (because it was lit, and everyone knows how dark some tables can be), they left the restaurant. Do they now have to make up for the lost revenue by selling to the remaining customers? I always order a schnitzel au four there. The menu lists the steak au four at €22.90. When we paid, the schnitzel (which was lukewarm, but we politely mentioned this) cost us €28.90. We weren't informed that this meant extra work and therefore a whopping €6 more per portion. We only noticed it when we paid. And of course, we politely inquired and were told the extra work was the reason. Seriously?! Besides, I've always gotten my schnitzel au four for €22.90 before. What's the deal with this?! I wouldn't recommend this place! We will gladly refrain from visiting there again in the future. Addendum: Dear Luisa, thank you for your comment. The point is that you could/should have informed us about the increased price before we placed our order. We fully understand the extra work involved, etc., but not after the fact. Especially since I always order this dish when I visit and have always paid the regular price. Please take this feedback as an opportunity to clearly communicate this to future customers beforehand. I actually really like the Alte Postamt – great location, good music, pleasant crowd. My experience at the over-30s party was all the more disappointing: I paid €11.60 for two beers, even though the menu stated €4.80 each. When I ordered later – this time with a different employee – I was charged the correct price. When I asked why I had to pay more the first time, I received no answer. There was no signage anywhere indicating higher event prices, and all orders are written down by hand on slips of paper – that seems anything but transparent. I really appreciate the Alte Postamt, but such price differences without a comprehensible explanation give the impression of a lack of pricing transparency – or worse: deliberate misleading advertising. This is not only disappointing, but also legally questionable, since prices must be clearly and consistently displayed according to the Price Indication Ordinance. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously – because something like this shouldn't happen in an otherwise popular store. Addendum to the owner's response: 10/22/25 Thank you for taking the time to respond to my experience. Unfortunately, contrary to your assumption, I was not paid the difference, as I haven't been back since the evening of the 30+ party (the date of my post). However, I think it's very positive that you're openly addressing the issue and offering a refund or invitation. My primary concern was to draw attention to the lack of price transparency – mistakes can happen, but it's important that such things remain transparent. Despite everything, I appreciate the open approach and hope that something good will come out of this.

The two of us went to the Altes Postamt for dinner. We ordered beer with our drinks and some snacks as an appetizer. The beer arrived quickly, but the appetizer was initially forgotten. Later, we ordered more snacks along with our main courses – Swiss schnitzel and schnitzel with mushroom sauce. After about half an hour, the waiter came and said he'd lost the order slip – he apologized politely. About 20 minutes later, everything arrived at the same time – the snacks and the main courses. The meal was delicious, and we each drank three beers. Each of us paid about €50 including tip. Pros: Quaint pub with a nice atmosphere, local crowd, good food and beer, clean restrooms, card payments accepted, online reservation worked smoothly. Cons: Friendly, but somewhat disoriented and disorganized waiter; extremely long wait due to the lost order slip. Overall, it was still a nice evening—with a little more organization, it would have been perfect. 👍

Absolutely the best restaurant in Halle! Fair prices and super delicious food! And for smokers, it's a rare treat to be able to smoke while eating ;) Always happy to go back!

The guests' food looked delicious, and the interior was very cozy. Unfortunately, it's a smoking bar! Therefore, it's not recommended for non-smokers, as their clothes will smell of smoke.

This is a wonderful, trendy pub with a huge smoking area, which, as a non-smoker, didn't bother me at all. The ambiance is very rustic and easy to feel at home. The service is appropriate. I enjoyed it. Oh, and they also served food. Everything tasted great and was reasonably priced. I can recommend it to people who are down-to-earth and sociable.

A place where you feel at home! Good food, friendly people, and yes—smoking is allowed. If that doesn't suit you, perhaps you should forgo the good food, the cold draft beer, and the friendly staff rather than giving it bad reviews. For me, this is an all-around great place.

Traditional pub with hearty cuisine, a good location, spacious rooms, and a relaxed terrace. The pancakes are highly recommended.

The food is really good... large portions and moderate prices. I had a bratwurst with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the bratwurst was fried in a deep fryer... that really shouldn't be the case... our waiter was extremely slow; we only got our drinks after 25 minutes, even though it wasn't busy. The waiter used the informal "du" form of address without being asked, which I found very unpleasant. I strongly recommend sitting outside... the interior is unbearable for non-smokers... and the ambiance is very dark... We probably won't be coming back, although... the food is good.

The food was delicious. At the entrance there were various dishes on boards, not all of which were on the menu. Even though we sat in the non-smoking area, we smelled extremely like smokers afterwards. I also found the exit through the smoking area unpleasant. Service very friendly and nice.

I came here for good German food. I ordered a schnitzel, which simply tasted like nothing. A real waste of money. I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone. You also have to like sitting in the smoking area, for me it's just disgusting.

Actually a nice restaurant in a historic building. The staff is also nice. But I was first offered a place in the smoking area. Since it is unbearable for non-smokers there, I asked again for another place. The non-smoking part is a narrow area and not so nicely decorated either. I've never seen a restaurant where the non-smoking section is smaller than the smoking section. Apparently only smokers are welcome here. Even the waitress sits at the counter smoking. The smoke also flows through the swinging door between the two rooms into the non-smoking area, where the tables are very close together. At least the food was quite good. When it comes to suckling pig, it is better to leave the edge of fat on, otherwise it will be too dry.

It was our first time there but definitely not the last time! The food was really tasty, the service was great and the prices were reasonable. The only negative are the chairs outside, which are quite uncomfortable for a cozy evening. We absolutely recommend the rest!

I like to eat and drink here regularly with friends, colleagues and family. Even if you smoke in the larger (bar) room, you are undisturbed by the smoke in the non-smoking area and have a cozy atmosphere. The service is fantastic, friendly, prompt and transparent. The dishes are delicious and are freshly prepared. It's also nice that the map is regularly adjusted a little. Price/performance is more than reasonable here - and has been for more than 10 years. A great restaurant!

The best restaurant I have visited since my 30 years of assembly work and also privately. Here the offer is right, the prices are right and the boss cooks himself.

Cool rustic pup with delicious home-style food in large portions. You shouldn't be a pushy non-smoker, as the non-smoking compartment also smells of smoke and you first have to go through the smoke-filled main room.

... where do you start... service has decreased significantly since the last visit, although decreased is still expressed very favorably. If you are unable to take an order with 9 guests at 5 tables and then this inability is passed on to the guest with “well, they could have come first”. The food has generally been good in the past.
