Gartengaststätte "Sonne" in Halle (Saale)

A beautiful café with a great 1920s charm and a lovely outdoor area. "Unfortunately," the weather was good, so we sat outside, but the interior is truly phenomenal. The homemade cakes are delicious, the service is friendly and attentive, and the coffee is delicious. All in all, we felt very comfortable.

Unfortunately our visit here was significantly worse than any other Dean & David ever. The screen display was broken or unreadable so we had to choose from the products on display. The bowl I ordered was completely cold, so the parts that were prepared warm weren't fresh, but it tasted normally good. My companion's salad, on the other hand, was inedible, tasted sour and it seemed as if the ingredients were from at least the day before, as the lettuce leaves were dry brown in places. After we asked for a new salad (with the reasons given above), a new one was prepared for us from the ingredients counter, but it was exactly like the first. So it seems that the ingredients themselves, and not the prepared salads, are the problem. Who knows how often things from the day before are sold here. We left and later threw the salad away.

I swear that was the best kebab I've ever eaten, I have to go there again🤩
