Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn in Gmund a.Tegernsee

Never experienced it! Despite a table reservation at 12 p.m., guests have to wait outside, about 15 minutes in front of the restaurant. The front door was only unlocked at 12 p.m. A manager with blonde hair implemented this measure in a very unfriendly manner. The atmosphere in the house is appealing, the food was very tasty and the service at the table also deserves praise.

Only the location is beautiful. Food and service don't suit a beetle. The snack plate was passed over the counter and the snack fell off the plate. The waitress grabbed what had fallen with his hands and put it back on the plate. Ordered warm meatloaf overcooked and therefore dry.

We celebrated my sister's birthday there and were very satisfied. Very tasty food, later also had very tasty eclairs with coffee. Our dogs were welcome and we didn't have to pay for the parking space as a customer.

The service was excellent, the glasses were always full, everyone was helpful at all times. The food was perfection, whether it was beef fillet, fish or ravioli - everything was on point! I can wholeheartedly recommend this unique restaurant with a fascinating view over Lake Tegernsee. It combines transition, taste, excellent service and cuisine, aesthetic decoration and Bavarian culture. As a wedding photographer, it is my top location and I am really looking forward to more events!

Wonderful, cozy atmosphere. Finest dishes. All around good service. We were at Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn for a family celebration. We were warmly welcomed. The service was excellent and attentive. The dishes were excellent and varied. We liked the fact that Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn is a first-class restaurant, but still maintains a casual and relaxed atmosphere. A far cry from any of the fancy restaurants that abound in this area.

You can eat excellently at Käfer gut Kaltenbrunn, the selection is large. There are enough seats, although reservations are recommended. The café built right on the lake with a beautiful view is worth visiting. Parking spaces are plentiful. The service is very friendly and quick, the food is beautifully prepared and served in a reasonable time frame. Sanitary facilities are modern and clean. We couldn't visit the spacious indoor area because the weather was too nice for that. So if you're thinking about going there, do it, it's worth it.

Poor service - had to ask multiple times to be able to order. Some of the cakes at the counter are already melted and old. Food came with completely dirty cutlery. Toilets unkempt. Were for a test dinner for a large family celebration with 100 guests. We like to eat well, and we also like to have something to eat. Here it was just outrageous.

For a cozy day at Tegernsee - whether in the beer garden or in the restaurant - it is absolutely recommended.

The scenery of the location is great and one of the best in Tegernsee region. Unfortunately, neither the quality nor the service can be compared to Käfer in Munich.

The view over the entire Tegernsee is sensational. We went to the restaurant and had an excellent meal. Online reservation on the same day was no problem, changing tables to the front row wasn't a problem either, very friendly, nice service and excellent quality of food.

Die Aussicht über den gesamten Tegernsee ist sensationell. Wir waren im Restaurant und haben hervorragend gegessen. Online-Reservierung am selber Tag kein Problem, Tischwechsel in die erste Reihe ebenfalls nicht, sehr freundliche nette Bedienungen und ausgezeichnete Qualität des Essens.

Was at dinner today. I've eaten here very often. Starter was good. But when I got the schnitzel, I asked the waiter if it was a toasti? Even the supplements were catastrophic. Waiter passed it on. The waiter's reaction was "I'm just the taxi" so I praise myself :-) Sit in the beetle and the schnitzel and side dishes are a disgrace. You don't see me anymore. As a couple, we often went to the beer garden and the visitor area. We always like it. Food is good and inexpensive, as are drinks. The view is unique, thank God you can't feel anything from Chici-Micki. Always happy again. And: the visitor area with bar tables and beach chairs is gigantic.

The entire Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn team left nothing to be desired in terms of event preparation and implementation. Zum ersten Mal den Biergarten vom Käfer am Tegernsee besucht. Wer sich mit fast 70 Jahren selbst als alter Hase in der Gastronomie bezeichnen darf, sieht diese Location jedenfalls nicht durch die Münchner Haute-Volaite-Schicki-Micki-Brille. Eins gilt es daher gleich von vornherein festzuhalten: die wunderschöne geografische Lage von Gut Kaltenbrunn allein genügt bei weitem nicht. Dass sich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis im gastronomischen Bereich zwischenzeitlich schon lange nicht mehr gleichwertig gegenüber steht, erwartet man bei Feinkost Käfer am allerwenigsten. Wenn ich aber für zwei halbe Hendl und eine trockene Semmel 20 Euro berappen muss, sollte auch die Produktqualität halbwegs passen. Und dies ist hier unter gar keinen Umständen der Fall! Die Fleischqualität des Flattermanns würde ich mit Handelsklasse K - O taxieren. Ein übermäßig langes Verweilen im Micro nach Entfernung vom Grill sorgte für eine pfurztrockene Fleischkonsistenz, die teilweise sehr grenzwertig war. Bei uns daheim sagt man dazu: des konnst ned fressen, des Zeig. FAZIT: Meinen Porsche kann ich auch woanders herzeigen.

I had dinner here last night and overall I was very satisfied. What I noticed very negatively, however, was a lady who seated the guests right at the entrance even though there would have been plenty of space further inside and didn't fill up later. Furthermore, she wasn't particularly friendly with the guests, which is why you should probably worry about whether she was placed there correctly...

We know Gut Kaltenbrunn from the 1980s/90s. Back then it was wonderful to sit there in the beer garden with a view of the lake. Today you can sit at dirty long tables in a "demarcated" manner, have to fetch your own food and drinks from an unclean counter with greasy fingerprints on the kitchen equipment, and pay for everything at a self-service checkout. The cashier was probably not very good at this part either. For 2 tiny pieces of cake, one with spray cream and 2 coffees for €15 is a bargain! So it probably has nothing to do with “beetle”.

Conclusion The Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn on Tegernsee is an outstanding location for weddings. The fantastic location, the excellent facilities and the first-class service make every celebration a special experience. I'm really looking forward to playing there again soon!

The “Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn” is certainly one of the best restaurants in and around Lake Tegernsee. Six of us were there one evening and got a great spot where we could still see the sunset over Lake Tegernsee. The service was super friendly and brought us everything quickly. The schnitzel was of course incredibly tasty, as was the potato salad that came with it. I'm already looking forward to the next time! VG Tim

Very nicely located with perfect views. We actually wanted to enjoy coffee and cake there. Because we first had to choose the cake inside after ordering our coffee and then (the coffee had already been brought and was almost ready) the waitress didn't come back to us until much later, there was no cake. But that wasn't all that bad, as the wasps were a bit intrusive that day. What is strange to rate is the parking situation. There is no barrier but the license plate is scanned and you have to pay at a machine when you drive out. In the coffee shop you can park there for free for 3 hours using a QR code. But when you leave, there are large signs telling you to please book out at the parking machine. However, payment by card or cash is then required. So it's not free after all? I then canceled the entry, didn't pay anything and drove out. I'm curious to see if there's anything else to come...

I was overcharged despite telling the waiter the price. It was full of uncomfortable wasps, like in the decens. But good food. And it was super expensive, 70 per person.

For me, Tegernsee has been my favorite gastronomic place for years. Everything is always very balanced, the cuisine is always top-notch, the service is quick, attentive and always very friendly. The view of the lake and the Tegernsee Valley is always a great experience, regardless of the weather, in all seasons. It's a little easier to enjoy the Käfer self-service beer garden next door, which is nice every now and then. Go there and see for yourself!

We waited a considerable amount of time at the entrance to be shown to the square as requested. Since we were skillfully ignored by the large number of staff present, we went out on our own to sit at a seat at the front with a view of the lake in the sparsely attended restaurant at 3 p.m. When we were ignored there again, we had to find a place ourselves. Only after being asked could one of the employees be persuaded to bring in an employee responsible for taking the order. He came quickly, but forgot to bring half of the order and seemed generally uninterested. We felt skilfully ignored and the staff couldn't be beaten in impertinence... I wanted my guest from Munich to experience the wonderful ambience at Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee. We were extremely disappointed.

The ambience is really great. In the beer garden both price and performance are right. Afterwards we went to the restaurant to have a nice evening. What does Beetle want to be? A product in the top range! The food: The appetizer Cesar Bowl was of average quality and cost of goods. Too little for €16.50! Main courses were good. But not anymore. In my opinion the gnocchi were convenience products. At least that's how they looked. The children had “Kinder-Wienerschnitzel”. Apart from the pungent taste of the breadcrumbs, little could be perceived. Drinks: The homemade lemonade was good. I don't know where or in what quantities the wines are purchased. At least the Primitivo and the Chardonnay are at the lower supermarket level in terms of taste. I estimate the retail price to be under €5 per bottle net, assuming it is bought in bottles at all. The price for it (€7.50/0.1 liter) is a disgrace. These wines should be banned from the restaurant. When it comes to service, we can say that we were partly lucky. Two service staff were very committed. The others transported the drinks without a tray (perhaps that's part of the concept?). We were still able to order due to the use of a force. Unfortunately, things were different at other tables. Everything seemed very hectic and disorganized. The waiters ran around the restaurant with full trays. Conclusion: Price-performance rating 4. If you go out for a fine meal, order three courses and drink good wine, whether in Bolzano, Munich, Düsseldorf or Hamburg, then you get significantly more value for your money there. You shouldn't rest on the ambience.

The old good class society still applies here. With ten years of personal experience in the catering industry, it's almost painful to see how clearly average earners are differentiated from those with higher incomes when it comes to service. The drinks were okay - unfortunately you can't say anything about the food as we weren't asked about it at all. The restaurant thrives on its service, which makes this visit all the sadder.

The food is ok, but quite expensive for a beer garden. Ordering food can sometimes be adventurous if the employees speak little German or English. The view and the grounds are beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

Far from the "upscale" hustle and bustle of the small lakeside towns, it is an ideal place to take a break in a quiet environment, with a beautiful view of the lake from a large terrace and the grassy relaxation area. . Typical catering of a “Biergarten”; If the "Curry Wurst" and grilled chicken (among others) are good and plentiful, it is above all the setting in which they are eaten that makes the experience pleasant. The children's play area can be a plus for families.
