Nice atmosphere but extremely bad concept. In the summer months there are 20-30 people in line and only one person is responsible for eating. Bad planning

As a couple, we often went to the beer garden and the visitor area. We always like it. Food is good and inexpensive, as are drinks. The view is unique, thank God you can't feel anything from Chici-Micki. Always happy again. And: the visitor area with bar tables and beach chairs is gigantic.

I think the store is pretty expensive. 1/4 wine 14€, salad with 4 pieces of chicken 22€. The atmosphere is great and the service is very nice.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding including a free wedding ceremony at Gut Kaltenbrunn in August 2024. The entire Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn team left nothing to be desired in terms of event preparation and implementation. Everything was superlative, both organizationally and culinary, and our guests' wishes were fulfilled in every respect. At this point, a very special compliment to the first-class service! Thank you for helping to make the day perfect for us.

Went to the restaurant and beer garden more often. There are differences in the selection and prices, but both are in the higher price segment. The view of Lake Tegernsee is very beautiful and the food and service have been convincing so far. Parking is sometimes difficult, especially on weekends. However, you can currently park for free for 3 hours if you scan the QR code in the restaurant.

Nice seating area with a view over Lake Tegernsee and the mountains. There is a self-service beer garden and a restaurant. Playground for children also available. Unfortunately very little parking space. I parked 500m away in a meadow parking lot (free of charge) and walked there along the bike path

We know Gut Kaltenbrunn from the 1980s/90s. Back then it was wonderful to sit there in the beer garden with a view of the lake. Today you can sit at dirty long tables in a "demarcated" manner, have to fetch your own food and drinks from an unclean counter with greasy fingerprints on the kitchen equipment, and pay for everything at a self-service checkout. The cashier was probably not very good at this part either. For 2 tiny pieces of cake, one with spray cream and 2 coffees for €15 is a bargain! So it probably has nothing to do with “beetle”.

I had dinner here last night and overall I was very satisfied. What I noticed very negatively, however, was a lady who seated the guests right at the entrance even though there would have been plenty of space further inside and didn't fill up later. Furthermore, she wasn't particularly friendly with the guests, which is why you should probably worry about whether she was placed there correctly...

Last weekend I was able to be a DJ at an unforgettable wedding at Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee. This location is really something special! Location and atmosphere The Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn is beautifully located on Lake Tegernsee and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the lake. Even the arrival is impressive and promises a special day. The combination of rustic charm and elegant furnishings creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Facilities and service The rooms are spacious and well equipped for weddings. There is enough space for a dance floor and DJ equipment. The acoustics in the rooms are excellent and the power connections are practical and easily accessible. The staff was extremely professional and helpful, which made the evening much easier. Highlights of the wedding The wedding was an absolute highlight of this summer! The bride and groom wanted a stylish, yet relaxed celebration. The decoration was simply fantastic - elegant floral arrangements and atmospheric lighting that perfectly complemented the rustic charm of the location. The dance floor was always well attended. The mix of modern hits and timeless classics in particular created a great atmosphere. The guests were thrilled and danced the whole night through. Conclusion The Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn on Tegernsee is an outstanding location for weddings. The fantastic location, the excellent facilities and the first-class service make every celebration a special experience. I'm really looking forward to playing there again soon!

The “Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn” is certainly one of the best restaurants in and around Lake Tegernsee. Six of us were there one evening and got a great spot where we could still see the sunset over Lake Tegernsee. The service was super friendly and brought us everything quickly. The schnitzel was of course incredibly tasty, as was the potato salad that came with it. I'm already looking forward to the next time! VG Tim

Unfortunately, there were an incredible number of wasps that afternoon when we were there, which made it difficult to eat. And what we ate was...

Very nicely located with perfect views. We actually wanted to enjoy coffee and cake there. Because we first had to choose the cake inside after ordering our coffee and then (the coffee had already been brought and was almost ready) the waitress didn't come back to us until much later, there was no cake. But that wasn't all that bad, as the wasps were a bit intrusive that day. What is strange to rate is the parking situation. There is no barrier but the license plate is scanned and you have to pay at a machine when you drive out. In the coffee shop you can park there for free for 3 hours using a QR code. But when you leave, there are large signs telling you to please book out at the parking machine. However, payment by card or cash is then required. So it's not free after all? I then canceled the entry, didn't pay anything and drove out. I'm curious to see if there's anything else to come...

I was overcharged despite telling the waiter the price. It was full of uncomfortable wasps, like in the decens. But good food. And it was super expensive, 70 per person.

For me, Tegernsee has been my favorite gastronomic place for years. Everything is always very balanced, the cuisine is always top-notch, the service is quick, attentive and always very friendly. The view of the lake and the Tegernsee Valley is always a great experience, regardless of the weather, in all seasons. It's a little easier to enjoy the Käfer self-service beer garden next door, which is nice every now and then. Go there and see for yourself!

Very good service, great food and already barrier-free including a disabled toilet

We waited a considerable amount of time at the entrance to be shown to the square as requested. Since we were skillfully ignored by the large number of staff present, we went out on our own to sit at a seat at the front with a view of the lake in the sparsely attended restaurant at 3 p.m. When we were ignored there again, we had to find a place ourselves. Only after being asked could one of the employees be persuaded to bring in an employee responsible for taking the order. He came quickly, but forgot to bring half of the order and seemed generally uninterested. We felt skilfully ignored and the staff couldn't be beaten in impertinence... I wanted my guest from Munich to experience the wonderful ambience at Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee. We were extremely disappointed.

Absolutely worth it - great location, very good food.

The ambience is really great. In the beer garden both price and performance are right. Afterwards we went to the restaurant to have a nice evening. What does Beetle want to be? A product in the top range! The food: The appetizer Cesar Bowl was of average quality and cost of goods. Too little for €16.50! Main courses were good. But not anymore. In my opinion the gnocchi were convenience products. At least that's how they looked. The children had “Kinder-Wienerschnitzel”. Apart from the pungent taste of the breadcrumbs, little could be perceived. Drinks: The homemade lemonade was good. I don't know where or in what quantities the wines are purchased. At least the Primitivo and the Chardonnay are at the lower supermarket level in terms of taste. I estimate the retail price to be under €5 per bottle net, assuming it is bought in bottles at all. The price for it (€7.50/0.1 liter) is a disgrace. These wines should be banned from the restaurant. When it comes to service, we can say that we were partly lucky. Two service staff were very committed. The others transported the drinks without a tray (perhaps that's part of the concept?). We were still able to order due to the use of a force. Unfortunately, things were different at other tables. Everything seemed very hectic and disorganized. The waiters ran around the restaurant with full trays. Conclusion: Price-performance rating 4. If you go out for a fine meal, order three courses and drink good wine, whether in Bolzano, Munich, Düsseldorf or Hamburg, then you get significantly more value for your money there. You shouldn't rest on the ambience.

Today we had lunch at Gut Kaltenbrunn. Great quality of food with very good service. It was nice Update 2024; Was there again and the quality is consistently very good. Excellent service. Please be sure to register the vehicle using the QR code when leaving.

The old good class society still applies here. With ten years of personal experience in the catering industry, it's almost painful to see how clearly average earners are differentiated from those with higher incomes when it comes to service. The drinks were okay - unfortunately you can't say anything about the food as we weren't asked about it at all. The restaurant thrives on its service, which makes this visit all the sadder.

The food is ok, but quite expensive for a beer garden. Ordering food can sometimes be adventurous if the employees speak little German or English. The view and the grounds are beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

Exceptional view. Highly arrogant maitre d'hotel really ruins it, though. What a shame. Keeps you waiting to be seated for 15 minutes while he is on the phone and then says "Stress ?" Really should not work in hospitality.

Eating here was a wonderful experience for me! The Bavarian delicacies served are of excellent quality and perfectly prepared. I have rarely been served such an excellent roast pork. The service is fast, attentive and friendly even when it is busy. On the large terrace you have a wonderful view over Lake Tegernsee. The interiors are tastefully and comfortably designed. Far from the "upscale" hustle and bustle of the small lakeside towns, it is an ideal place to take a break in a quiet environment, with a beautiful view of the lake from a large terrace and the grassy relaxation area. . Typical catering of a “Biergarten”; If the "Curry Wurst" and grilled chicken (among others) are good and plentiful, it is above all the setting in which they are eaten that makes the experience pleasant. The children's play area can be a plus for families.

Wir bekamen auf der Terrasse einen Holztisch mit zwei gegenüberstehenden Holzbänken zugewiesen. Als ich mich zurück lehnen wollte, gab die marode Rückenlehne, die sich gelöst hatte, nach und nur durch ein reflexartiges Hochschnellen meiner Beine gegen die Tischplatte konnte ich einen Sturz auf den Betonboden verhindern. Ein jüngerer Mitarbeiter stellte die Bank beiseite und gab mir einen Stuhl, der von der Ergonomie her nicht zur Tischhöhe passte. Als ich unserem eigentlichen Kellner über den Zwischenfall, den ausschließlich das Restaurant zu verantworten hatte, berichtete, reagierte er weder mit einem Bedauern, noch mit einer Entschuldigung oder gar einer Kulanz. Auch mussten wir selbst fragen, ob wir an einem anderen Tisch Platz nehmen konnten. Diese Interesselosigkeit an einer äußerst kritischen Situation im eigenen Gastbereich wird uns zukünftig an einem weiteren Besuch in diesem Restaurant zurück halten.

Here you can sit wonderfully with a magnificent view over the lake. We were able to enjoy the delicious Kaiserschmarrn in the shade under the trees in wonderful weather. Gut Kaltenbrunn is a great place to stop off when you're out and about on Lake Tegernsee. Very nice atmosphere, especially the outdoor area. That's why I recommend going there when the weather is good. You have a wonderful view over the lake. Good food, food prices are moderate, drinks are expensive. The staff is friendly. Parking free for 3 hours.

We are on vacation and my husband had made a reservation in advance (even showed the email) 1. our table was not found, then we were seated at a free table. 2. then our table was simply clicked on in front of our eyes and it was said that it was our reserved table! In addition, they couldn't move us because the other tables were reserved for guests who had supposedly expressed their wishes via online reservation (just like us) We just felt like we weren't being treated honestly and then we were squeezed into a corner in the store! What a shame!

Great view, nice team but I ate the worst grilled chicken ever in the beer garden! I returned the first one, the second one made a better impression, but only visually! Fridays at 2:30 p.m.! Very weak! Therefore only 1 star for the food! I am very disappointed! ☹️ After complaining again, I got my money back and received a huge apology! The remaining chicken was then removed from the grill and thrown away! Very exemplary! Rating increased to 3 stars because of the accommodating handling!

When the outside temperature is 12 degrees, the air conditioning runs indoors. Ice cold winds at our table at lunch. Despite repeated requests from our group of 14, the air conditioning was not turned off. Instead two blankets were handed!!!!! My husband and I have a cold today! Another request to wait a while before serving the food because the person celebrating his birthday wanted to give a speech was also ignored. “The guest is king” does not apply here.

I wasn't happy with my main course, pasta with green asparagus and cherry tomatoes. There was exactly one stalk of asparagus and 2 cherry tomatoes on the dish. After complaining, I was only assured that the information would go to the kitchen; I was not offered espresso or anything similar on the house. On the occasion of my birthday a cake was brought to me, which was then included on the bill. You have to announce birthdays when reserving a table, then it's on the house. I was stunned and overall very disappointed. Price/performance and customer service don't match. That was my last visit to Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn.

Ich war mit meinem Hauptgericht nicht zufrieden, Nudel mit grünem Spargel und Kirschtomaten. Es war genau eine Stange Spargel und 2 Kirschtomaten am Gericht. Nach Beanstandung wurde nur versichert, dass die Info an die Küche geht, es wurde mir kein Espresso oder ähnliches aufs Haus angeboten. Anlässlich meines Geburtstages wurde mir ein Törtchen gebracht, das dann auf der Rechnung zu finden war. Man muss bei der Tischreservierung Geburtstage ankündigen, dann geht es aufs Haus. Ich war fassungslos und insgesamt sehr enttäuscht. Preis/Leistung und Kundenservice passen nicht. Das war mein letzter Besuch bei Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn.

Hauptspeise kam sehr spät auf dem Tisch, Saibling war zu lange gegart und dadurch zäh und trocken und die Spargel zu weich, Bedienung war unfreundlich am Anfang, wurde nach dem ich mich beschwert hatte aber besser. Insgesamt wunderschöne Lage aber unpersönlich und Essen durchschnittlich.

A great wedding location in an absolute dream location. As a wedding singer, I was able to provide musical accompaniment to the church wedding of a lovely couple on the beautiful Tegernsee and then to the champagne reception in Gut Kaltenbrunn. The service was great and the view is simply amazing. I always enjoy making music here.

Käfer Gut Kaltenbrunn auf der Sonnenterrasse mit Blick auf den traumhaften Tegernsee ist immer ein netter Ausflug (wenn’s Wetter passt). Derzeit Spargel (in allen Variationen), Schweinsbraten, Fleischpflanzerl, und Wienerschnitzel sehr gut, aber natürlich nicht gerade preiswert. Zum Abschluss gibt es lecker Kaiserschmarrn. Hier ist man super Hundefreundlich und der Service ist immer äußerst nett und zuvorkommende. Nervig war heute zwar, dass am Sonntag von 12 bis 13Uhr die ganze Zeit gehämmert und getackert wurde… aber das wird nächstes mal hoffentlich nicht wieder vorkommen.

The ambience is nice, especially because of the view, but the quality of the food is very poor for the price range. The dishes tasted pretty stale. The service was very mixed. One waiter did a good job, the rest seemed very uninterested. That was also a real shame. Furthermore, to our astonishment, we were assigned the worst seats, even though there were a lot of seats available and when we asked if we could get a table on the terrace, we were told they were reserved. However, we had already reserved a month ago without the possibility of choosing a specific table. It also seemed suspicious to us that they first made sure who belonged to the group before assigning us the bad table. Maybe we didn't look Bavarian enough.

The Mother's Day brunch really disappointed us. Compared to last year, today's level was at most canteen food. I make sliced ​​cucumbers and carrots for my children's lunch box. I don't have to spend so much money on it. Quite rightly, some tables have left. Instead we were offered the à la carte meal, which was at least good. Since we were really looking forward to brunch, we are still very disappointed. That wasn't Beetle level :-(. Only the service was great as usual. I would be ashamed of the buffet!!! What a shame. Poor staff and poor guests!

Our wedding was excellently prepared by Gut Kaltenbrunn. The team took care of every detail so we could fully concentrate on our special day. The atmosphere was simply wonderful and the food was a true culinary experience. We are grateful to the entire team for their professionalism and their role in making our day unforgettable!

A great location with a view of the lake. The restaurant has an indoor area, an outdoor area and a self-service beer garden. The employees are nice and accommodating. No matter who you order from, it works even if they are not responsible for the table. Despite not having a reservation, we were able to get a table outside when the weather was nice. Drinks and food came quickly, despite many tables being occupied. This restaurant is run by Käfer, so the prices are correspondingly higher than at other restaurants. Attention, parking is a bit of a challenge because as a guest you can park for free for 3 hours. However, when you leave the restaurant you have to give the license plate number of your vehicle at the exit for activation. If you forget this, the fun costs 40 euros. It's also logical because the spaces are intended for guests and "non-guests" should have the option to park, but have to pay accordingly. The barrier is always open, but I know it from elsewhere, so it works very well with the bell afterwards. Therefore, if you do everything correctly straight away, you will have fewer issues afterwards. Would love to come back.

The Obazda in the beer garden was dry, almost crumbly. It's probably been in the display case for too long. The onions were manageable. Disappointing.

Ein in sehr saurer Essig-Senfsoße ertränkter " Schweizer Wurstsalat", der den Namen nicht verdient hat: Jagdtwurstscheiben zusammengepappt, einige Gurkenscheiben und Zwiebelscheiben und eine Handvoll grober Käsestifte darauf. Lecker ist anders! Das Brötchen dazu kostete 1 Euro extra. Aussicht und Lokation sehr schön.

I have known Gut Kaltenbrunn for 25 years. The ambience has improved significantly since Käfer took over. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the P/L ratio was absolutely fine. Overall a nice experience! 😃

The food looked good - it was still too early for us to eat, we had basically just had breakfast in the hotel - like almost everywhere, it was a bit more expensive if you have to pay for the view...
