Delicious food and fast service

Since we were leaving quite early, we had a quick cappuccino at the airport. Expensive and not exactly classy.

This cannot be a decent capachino. I had an over heated, rancid smelly bean, milked down the capachino for 5€. It came out straight out of their readymade machine, even though they had a perfectly nice barista coffee machine that was there for the show. I came to Käfer because of their culinary reputation in the city, but I have to say this is my first and last time here, better find a place that knows how to make a decent cup of coffee. Also it's true as many people pointed out, service is unspectacular and the personnel need some training.

We wanted to while away the time with a delicious beer. Unfortunately, it was wasted by a super-long wait for service. The place wasn't really busy. It was just the two of us at the bar, but no one seemed to care about us. No questions about drinks, nothing. We asked for service twice, but no one was in charge of the bar. There were four employees behind the bar at times, but unfortunately, no one was in charge. They preferred to have fun, chat, etc. In the end, we drank four beers and paid for two. Why? Because no one was in charge and had an overview. They simply don't take their job seriously!

Server told us to sit down and we took the only table in the front. She said, "oh it's dirty but it ok," and never even wiped it. They only pour chincy beer servings far below the line on the glass and the pretzels were almost stale. They should have said no pretzels available. Only ready for 2nd star is some of them are friendly.

The veel schnitzel was expensive and full of oil, the potato with radish was the same as the ones u find in plastic containers in the supermarket, the service was ok'ish. If u are really hungry, u can try.

Good food and friendly service. But the restaurant seems understaffed, resulting in long wait times.

Very nice place. I chose the main specialty (schnitzel) and was not disappointed. I received my order quickly. The gentlemen from the service were also very nice. Thank you very much and if I am in Munich I will visit you again.

On our way back from Munich, flight got delayed !! There were a few choices for lunch at the airport and we chose Kafer , it was busy and bustling. Staff were friendly and keeping up with the busy place . Good selection of food and drinks.Ordered Original Nürnberger Ristbratwurstl and salad along with a couple of vodkas. Food was delicious and hearty.

Worst experience at Kaefers, three times , one after the other, single travellers taking seat at empty table and always waiter is rushing by “ take a seat at the bar , as we have not enough free tables “, probably never heard of that individuals can share a table the same way as the they would share the seats at the crowded bar, if you like to be seated at the table give him 5 bucks and all done

While we waited for our connecting flight, we dined at the Käfer Bistro. A very sophisticated atmosphere and a friendly server. We had a roast pork with bread dumplings and cabbage, and my wife had a vegetable curry with strips of meat. This was accompanied by an Erdinger Hefe-Krumm (alcohol-free beer). The food was very good and plentiful. Therefore, it's highly recommended, as the atmosphere was also very pleasant.

Great food at reasonable prices, right at the G19-20 gates. The food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The quality is good despite the incredibly fast service. Great if you have a 2-3 hour layover and your connecting flight is nearby.

Coming back after one year the quality of the potata salad and Wiener Schnity it's not the same anymore....also they serve now the cranberrysin plastic like you get it in any breakfast buffet .....never less the service still amazing...Marlene is amazing ....friendly ....it's always nice to see her ..... Service is terrible. I was told walk in amd take a seat anywhere. I couldn't find a seat so I sat at the bar amd asked for a menu. The bartender told me I couldn't eat at the bar and that I should go find a table. So I get up walk around some more and eventually find a table. By this time I see other people eating at the bar, amd several other tables got waited on right next to me but not me even after I tried to flag someone. I'm sitting here 15 minutes now and still no one has come to take my order.

A waiter was very rude and informed us that they do not accept card payments. When I asked why, he simply replied that cash is the official payment method. There were empty, clean tables available, yet people were left standing in line for more than 10 minutes without any explanation. To make things worse, when he saw how frustrated we were by his behavior, they let other customers—who were behind us in line—go ahead, and those customers ended up paying by card. The food was average, and so was the portion size, although our order arrived quickly. We were in Munich on a business trip and had chosen this place expecting a smooth and professional experience, especially since we were already extremely tired. What truly saved the day, however, was a Greek waiter who stood out from the rest. He was incredibly kind, polite, and professional—he did everything he could to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Without him, the situation could have easily escalated—we were seriously considering calling the police over the treatment we received upon entering the restaurant. Respect and politeness are what separate us from animals. Sadly, most of the staff didn’t seem to understand that. Thanks to this one exceptional person, we walked away with at least one positive thing to remember.

Its rude servise and they force to pay only with cash .No professional no good food

The concept doesn't work for me. We’re talking about one of Munich’s most famous delicatessens, L’eden. The service was terrible. 20 guests are waiting in front of the shop and there are 30 tables available. Twice guests sat down at our next table and left because they weren't served. Either Käfer has too much money or the staff is completely overwhelmed. If I were an entrepreneur, I would throw them all out. That is extremely damaging. Please change this immediately.

We had a schnitzel and a pretzel at Kafer Bistro on Terminal 2 in Munich Airport. Both were not very good.

Pricey, but fast and friendly service, as well as tasty food. We had breakfast on the layover on the way out and dinner on the layover on the return journey.

We’ve tried several breakfast options, and the food was okay but nothing special. The service felt a bit rude and unwelcoming, with staff mostly attentive to German-speaking guests. Long waiting times and an uncomfortable atmosphere made the experience less enjoyable.

Expensive breakfast. Service was terribly slow and the waiter ignored our multiple attempts to get the bill so we could make our flight, then was offended when we didn’t tip because how long we waited to pay.

Good choice, even special dishes, a little expensive for the cost and the French-German effect of the place. A little dark and stiff. Small Wiener Schnitzler for 29 euros.

Well, yes. The “Käfer” in the airport is not a flagship for Munich hospitality. Long wait until you can sit down in the half-full restaurant. Ordered some sea bream fillets with fatty vegetables for 34 euros. The Nuremberg bratwurst with some mashed potatoes and sauerkraut came out quite bland and weak (20 euros). We skipped the water for 9 euros. HB Helle for 6.50 euros was good as always.

There was hardly anything going on in the restaurant and I stood at the entrance for 10 minutes to get a seat. Just wanted a cappuccino before departure. I moved on.

A positive surprise. Traditional cuisine in the terminal. Tasty dishes, well seasoned. Nice service.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Käfer Bistro in Munich International Airport (Terminal 2, Level 04) before our flight! My friend and I ordered a plate of sausages with mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely excellent—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and a great taste of Bavarian cuisine. The beer and sparkling water were also very good, making for a well-rounded meal. The atmosphere of the bistro is warm and inviting, a great place to relax before traveling. Despite being in an airport, it doesn’t feel rushed or hectic. Instead, it’s a comfortable spot to sit, eat, and enjoy good food before a flight. A special mention to the amazing staff—they were very kind and helpful, taking the time to recommend dishes and ensuring we had a great experience. Their friendliness and attentiveness made a big difference! Overall, I highly recommend Käfer Bistro for anyone passing through Munich Airport. Terrible...please don't order Wiener Schnitzel, it's bitter because of old fat...the meat is as hard as the sole of a shoe...never go to this dump again

A little taste of Munich inside the airport. We had the wienerschnitzel and Hofbrauhus dunklebier. Loved the food.

We had a good 2 hours until our flight and wanted to have a proper dinner. At first glance the prices may seem steep, but they are quite normal for an airport. We ordered crusted roast and Wiener schnitzel - both came very quickly, were really tasty and the portions were more than sufficient (which justified the prices). The service was great, the waiters were very friendly and attentive. Overall, for me it was by far the best airport restaurant so far and I had a lovely last evening at home.

Came for a beer after a long flight. The cashier was lovely.

The food was good, but the service was shockingly rude and unprofessional. We asked the waiter to split the bill, and his response was completely unacceptable. In a dismissive and impolite manner, he told us, "It's not my problem." When we asked him to find a solution, he claimed, "No one in Germany does that," and stated that we had to either pay the bill unsplit or "go to the police." When we requested to speak with the management, he claimed there were no managers available. However, upon entering the restaurant and speaking to his colleagues, the waiter began lying and denying his earlier behavior. Such disrespectful conduct overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. It’s disappointing that good food was paired with such appalling service.

Nothing special, food was OK but left with a bad taste after an elderly waiter made sarcastic comments in our direction about one of us not tipping. As far as I know tipping should be optional + not everybody can afford to tip considering the excruciating airport prices, sir.

Quick stop on a layover, we almost missed the flight but the food was very delicious, we ordered a Snitzel, an assortment of sausages and a couple of beers. Surely with more time we would have enjoyed them more.

Munich white sausage and a German pretzel - Darn tasty! My waitress was very pleasant and happy to help me practice my broken German. The music is a bit loud for my taste.

Decent food but nothing exceptional.

It's not hard to be amazed... For this renowned name and actually known good service, this morning was a failure: Waited 20 minutes for the opportunity to order... the table was completely sticky and some of the tables hadn't been cleared from breakfast. The lady then became snippy, completely unjustified

Wiener Schnitzel very tasty. I also liked the potato salad with radishes served in a set. I missed some greens, but it was still tasty. The prices are not cheap, but it is an airport after all. The service was ok, she cared about the customer.

Walk in and get a table. Asked a waiter if they served gluten free options. He rolled his eyes and opened the menu in annoyance: “There are vegan things here and a few there too.” Immediately got up, left and avoided for the rest of time.

Dedicated staff, tasty food. Well, it's expensive but that should be clear to everyone at the airport. If you don't want that, you just have to butter your sandwiches at home.

Pretty good for an airport option. The food is good quality with a number of vegetarian options clearly labeled. Decor is quaint and more appealing than the harsh airport lighting. Unfortunately, slow and slightly frantic service let's the place down a little. We took a late lunch when the team were reasonably busy but the service was disproportionately curt when we were eventually seen to.

Unfortunately, the cakes were absolutely not good and not of the usual Käfer quality. I was particularly irritated when I saw the exact same (visually striking) Sachertorte in the display at Dallmayer 10 meters away. I was actually expecting a beetle product...

I had a pleasant and relaxing time, with bratwurst and beer, a very german simple pleasure as I waited for my flight. I recommend this place and its competent, quick and kind staff.

We went to the Beetle for an early dinner before our flight. The service was good and the food was absolutely fine. Nevertheless, I have to note that the prices were very high for the very questionable cleanliness. I understand the high volume of traffic, but if it says Beetle on it, then you expect Beetle - in all areas. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't necessarily go there again.

Every time he takes an order, people feel his rudeness, exchanging bewildered glances with each other. When I went to the counter to pay, he rudely gestured with his chin to go to another counter. Then, he again instructed us to wait at the table, while he processed the payment for another customer who had been waiting at the 'opposite counter,' not at a table. His behavior of pointing with his chin, telling us to sit and wait in a commanding tone, was an unprecedented display of rudeness. No matter how young we may appear or the fact that we are Asian, we can see, think, and fully recognize how disrespectful this behavior was. --- If a medieval male waiter is in charge of your table, be prepared to have your mood spoiled. Every time he takes an order, the guests feel affected by his rudeness and give each other confused looks. When I went to the counter to pay, he rudely pointed his chin at another counter. He then again ordered us to wait at the table while he made payment for another guest who was waiting at the 'opposite counter', not at the table. His behavior of pointing his chin and asking us to sit down and wait in a commanding tone was something we had never experienced before

We had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad twice for 29 EUR each.? One schnitzel was quite OK, the other portion was woven with tendons in both schnitzels. That's less fun given such a price. The waiter was very friendly and nice

0.3 liters of beer for 5.50 euros and then not even full. We addressed it and, to top it off, there was a lot of discussion.

If you want reasonable prices and good food you should stop here. I got potato soup which was delicious and hot and the rest of us got the 6 sausages which are the most popular on the menu.

For me, the Käfer restaurant at Munich Airport stands out from the usual restaurants at airports. The atmosphere is a little more cozy than usual and the service was immediately friendly. I ate a classic Wiener Schnitzel that was served with potato salad and was very tasty. Unfortunately there were no fried potatoes… Price-performance ratio was also right for me, especially considering that you are staying at an airport.

I don't know why this place has such a low rating. I'm very picky. But I really liked everything. The beef tartare was simply superb! I asked to make it without onions, my wish was fulfilled. The service is pleasant and unobtrusive. Everything is very fast and the prices are also reasonable for the airport.

There will be no more Munich white sausages from 11:00 onwards!! Truly tremendous. Just because it is declared as a “Munich breakfast” and breakfasts are only served until 11:00 a.m. From now on we will only go to Dallmeier at the airport, they also serve white sausages later and the service is much friendlier...

I've actually loved Käfer Bistro for years. I really wanted to make the most of having to wait 10 minutes to be seated even though there were seats available. Something like that is absolutely not possible, staff shortage or not. Friendliness is also a foreign word. Too bad. I probably won't be coming back here any time soon.

I had a great experience dining here while waiting for my flight. Service was quick; waitress was friendly. I had the nurnberger plate with mashed potatoes. It tasted very good( especially the mashed potatoes) and was very filling. The carrot cake, however, wasn’t to my liking.

If you have a lot of time to kill at the airport, this is your place! 40 minutes so far waiting on a pretty basic breakfast order. Fortunately, I’m not in a rush.

Waiter recommended bottled water. He came with a tiny 0.25L glass bottle of vio water and they charged me €4.50. Do yourself a favor and skip the water!

Despite an absolute disaster at the airport and a number of flight cancellations, the food was excellent and the service was very nice and on point. The quality of the food was very good. Freshly cooked and tasty! The curry with shrimp is simply top! Thanks to the kitchen and the service, who kept an overview despite the chaos at the airport.

Got forced to sit at the bar with like 50 flies buzzing about while the rest of the place was empty because we dared to ask if they serve drinks as well, even though I was going to grab a Bretze and other snacks. Way to feel unwelcome the moment you step into the place when theres like three tables of dudes sitting around only having beer. PS as I sit stewing at the bar I count a minimum of 26 fruit flies above my head - which I am evading as I type.

Terrible experience!!! Do not ever go here! I just asked the server what he recommends for breakfast and his answer was yelling at me “I recommend you to read the menu!” After my 10 hours flight, I left instantly, I almost got into a fight with him. It’s the worst experience I ever had!

The food was delicious and I loved the fact that the restaurant was more quiet than the rest. My favourite part was that I was able to order half size of the main course. The staff was also good and professional.

My best food-experience in an airport !! After a cancelled flight,I was looking for a good spot to eat. Never had a diner in an airport before. The experience was amazing. The service was super polite,the food was delivered in 5min and was really tasty. If you in Munich airport and want a good meal It’s the place!!!!

Tasty sausages with mashed potato and sauerkraut. Airport prices of course. But no complaints. Came back again on another connecting flight. Same again. Service was quick after a little wait for a seat. Makes me laugh that the beer is cheaper than the water. Atmosphere is nice given it's an airport. Could be any pub in town, just has faster service than you expect in a pub. Waiter runs around seating, taking payments, taking orders, bringing food. He's non stop.

16.50€ for four tiny rolls, I didn't know that you could bake such small rolls (on the menu "bread basket"), a small butter, a small jam and a natural yoghurt???? I first thought of “the hidden camera”! The service was very nice.

If this is supposed to be a reference to beetles, things seem to be in really bad shape for beetles: no greeting whatsoever from the waitress, careless menus being thrown out, staff audibly arguing with each other and with the kitchen. “Apollinaris” is table water and not mineral water, which is what I actually wanted…. Ordered Wiener Schnitzel twice, one portion was fresh, one was apparently made from molded meat. I find that unpleasant in direct comparison. Of course the freshly prepared tasted better. I hope the Beetle caterings in the Berlin Reichstag represent German gastronomic art better than what happened here. I'll avoid this restaurant in the future, although I like the presence of an airport restaurant and the decor.

Everything ok .. good food just serving take little longer you expect

The first impression was great, the waiter was very friendly. The food was delicious, since it is asparagus season, we had the schnitzel with asparagus and hollandaise sauce. Prices like at the airport. There is nothing to complain about. Gladly again when there is time between flights.
