Food was decent but service is lacking. The venue was busy when I arrived. My family and I noticed that there was not enough staff to manage the amount of customers. We were seated by someone who looked like the manager. When we were ready to order, we tried to get a nearby staff's attention but he looked at us and shook his head and yelled "nein!". We thought maybe he was not working in our section and we should have waited for a different staff member. But 10 minutes later he came to our table to take our order anyway. He seemed quite mad when taking our order. Food came quickly and we enjoyed it. But it was very clear that the staff were overwhelmed by the amount of customers and it negatively impacted their service

Updated on the 26th of August. I revisited the restaurant after my initial visit in July, and first of all, the issue with the service I reported earlier has been resolved — a big plus. I arrived at 10:55 and wanted to order the English breakfast, but the waiter who took my order around 11:02 told me it was already unavailable. I know we’re in Germany, but a two-minute cutoff feels a bit too strict. In any case, I decided to order the same dish I had in July: bratwurst with sauerkraut and potato purée. Last time, it was very good, but this time everything was swimming in sauerkraut juice, and the sauerkraut itself had a strange sweetish taste. I’ll be back in October. Let’s see how things improve by then.

I had food at this restaurant and the dinner and desert was amazing , very tasty , good portion, and amazing service. I had such a good service by Oprea. Very bad service. The waiter scolded us because we put the glasses on the table we wanted on the other table (also dirty). It's not our job to clean tables; we wanted to sit down. They also served people who arrived after us. We got tired of waiting and left without ordering anything. Very bad service. Overpriced. A very bad place. I'll never go back. I know it doesn't make a difference because they didn't even serve me.

The waiter working there was not nice. He made rude and sarcastic comments about us leaving the restaurant, even though we had ordered drinks and were thinking about ordering food. He talked back to the other waiters about us and discussed when they could throw us out. He kept hinting that we had to order food, with rude looks. The whole experience made the atmosphere feel bad, as the service was so terrible. We ended up leaving before we could order food.

Munich Airport Terminal 2, Bistro/Restaurant: - Waited 5-10 minutes to be assigned a seat. The waiters actively ignored me even though there were seats available. I then left the waiting position to see if the following guests were having the same experience. There weren't any! I got back in line. Then I was assigned a seat, but with a commanding comment from the waiter telling me to look more enthusiastic (I didn't comment further and took a seat). Ordered a shandy and a schnitzel. The shandy had a stale taste. When I asked for a new one, the same waiter replied that it couldn't possibly be stale and moved on to the next table. A few minutes later, I still received a new shandy without comment. Then the schnitzel was served with the comment (from the same waiter) that I could also say thank you. I replied that he wasn't my teacher/educator and that I was a guest there. He then replied (now serving the neighboring table) that in this case, it seemed he had to be. He shook his head and made the sign of the cross(!). His tone was abusive and aggressive. I then asked for the bill and left. After two bites of schnitzel and a full spare radler, of course, everything was charged. My opinion: disrespectful, unprofessional, malicious, gutter-level. I've never experienced anything like it. Apparently, at Käfer, they divide people's worth according to taste. I was the lower class. PS: Schnitzel with tendons

Pros: - Plenty of seating - Close to the gates - The food was very good - The atmosphere is quite pleasant Cons: - The service was pretty bad - You have to wait to be seated, but the waiter almost never comes to seat you - It feels like waiting forever for everything We had breakfast here because we had a two-hour layover in Munich. A sign outside the restaurant says you have to wait to be seated, so that's fine. We were quite lucky and waited about five minutes. It wasn't busy, many tables were empty, but the waiter in charge of the front area had virtually no interest in seating guests. While we were sitting at our tables, over ten people left because the waiter simply didn't come to seat them. In general, the waiter's service took some getting used to; it was very brief, unfriendly, and never asked questions. There was no salt with the eggs, and there was nothing on the table either. We waited a long time to pay, and while we were paying, he walked away. The Munich breakfast was very good, and the eggs and bacon were also delicious. The food is highly recommended, but the service was very poor. The price is okay for an airport.

It has a big name/reputation as various other Munich brands are represented at the airport. Service is friendly and efficient. Ambiance is pleasant and classy. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was not made by a barista but with a full auto machine. This resulted in poor foam quality (no proper micro foam) not in line with the brand appeal. It may be a result of the struggle to get qualified staff or just prioritising efficiency over quality since it's "only" an airport.

This cannot be a decent capachino. I had an over heated, rancid smelly bean, milked down the capachino for 5€. It came out straight out of their readymade machine, even though they had a perfectly nice barista coffee machine that was there for the show. I came to Käfer because of their culinary reputation in the city, but I have to say this is my first and last time here, better find a place that knows how to make a decent cup of coffee. Also it's true as many people pointed out, service is unspectacular and the personnel need some training.

We wanted to while away the time with a delicious beer. Unfortunately, it was wasted by a super-long wait for service. The place wasn't really busy. It was just the two of us at the bar, but no one seemed to care about us. No questions about drinks, nothing. We asked for service twice, but no one was in charge of the bar. There were four employees behind the bar at times, but unfortunately, no one was in charge. They preferred to have fun, chat, etc. In the end, we drank four beers and paid for two. Why? Because no one was in charge and had an overview. They simply don't take their job seriously!

On our way back from Munich, flight got delayed !! There were a few choices for lunch at the airport and we chose Kafer , it was busy and bustling. While we waited for our connecting flight, we dined at the Käfer Bistro. A very sophisticated atmosphere and a friendly server. We had a roast pork with bread dumplings and cabbage, and my wife had a vegetable curry with strips of meat. This was accompanied by an Erdinger Hefe-Krumm (alcohol-free beer). The food was very good and plentiful. Therefore, it's highly recommended, as the atmosphere was also very pleasant.

Service is terrible. I was told walk in amd take a seat anywhere. I couldn't find a seat so I sat at the bar amd asked for a menu. The bartender told me I couldn't eat at the bar and that I should go find a table. So I get up walk around some more and eventually find a table. By this time I see other people eating at the bar, amd several other tables got waited on right next to me but not me even after I tried to flag someone. A waiter was very rude and informed us that they do not accept card payments. When I asked why, he simply replied that cash is the official payment method. There were empty, clean tables available, yet people were left standing in line for more than 10 minutes without any explanation. To make things worse, when he saw how frustrated we were by his behavior, they let other customers—who were behind us in line—go ahead, and those customers ended up paying by card. The food was average, and so was the portion size, although our order arrived quickly. We were in Munich on a business trip and had chosen this place expecting a smooth and professional experience, especially since we were already extremely tired. What truly saved the day, however, was a Greek waiter who stood out from the rest. He was incredibly kind, polite, and professional—he did everything he could to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Without him, the situation could have easily escalated—we were seriously considering calling the police over the treatment we received upon entering the restaurant. Respect and politeness are what separate us from animals. Sadly, most of the staff didn’t seem to understand that. Thanks to this one exceptional person, we walked away with at least one positive thing to remember.

The concept doesn't work for me. We’re talking about one of Munich’s most famous delicatessens, L’eden. The service was terrible. 20 guests are waiting in front of the shop and there are 30 tables available. Twice guests sat down at our next table and left because they weren't served. Either Käfer has too much money or the staff is completely overwhelmed. If I were an entrepreneur, I would throw them all out. That is extremely damaging. Please change this immediately.

Well, yes. The “Käfer” in the airport is not a flagship for Munich hospitality. Long wait until you can sit down in the half-full restaurant. Ordered some sea bream fillets with fatty vegetables for 34 euros. The Nuremberg bratwurst with some mashed potatoes and sauerkraut came out quite bland and weak (20 euros). We skipped the water for 9 euros. HB Helle for 6.50 euros was good as always.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Käfer Bistro in Munich International Airport (Terminal 2, Level 04) before our flight! My friend and I ordered a plate of sausages with mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely excellent—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and a great taste of Bavarian cuisine. The beer and sparkling water were also very good, making for a well-rounded meal. The atmosphere of the bistro is warm and inviting, a great place to relax before traveling. Despite being in an airport, it doesn’t feel rushed or hectic. Instead, it’s a comfortable spot to sit, eat, and enjoy good food before a flight. A special mention to the amazing staff—they were very kind and helpful, taking the time to recommend dishes and ensuring we had a great experience. Their friendliness and attentiveness made a big difference! Overall, I highly recommend Käfer Bistro for anyone passing through Munich Airport. We had a good 2 hours until our flight and wanted to have a proper dinner. At first glance the prices may seem steep, but they are quite normal for an airport. We ordered crusted roast and Wiener schnitzel - both came very quickly, were really tasty and the portions were more than sufficient (which justified the prices). The service was great, the waiters were very friendly and attentive. Overall, for me it was by far the best airport restaurant so far and I had a lovely last evening at home.

The food was good, but the service was shockingly rude and unprofessional. We asked the waiter to split the bill, and his response was completely unacceptable. In a dismissive and impolite manner, he told us, "It's not my problem." When we asked him to find a solution, he claimed, "No one in Germany does that," and stated that we had to either pay the bill unsplit or "go to the police." When we requested to speak with the management, he claimed there were no managers available. However, upon entering the restaurant and speaking to his colleagues, the waiter began lying and denying his earlier behavior. Such disrespectful conduct overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. It’s disappointing that good food was paired with such appalling service.

It's not hard to be amazed... For this renowned name and actually known good service, this morning was a failure: Waited 20 minutes for the opportunity to order... the table was completely sticky and some of the tables hadn't been cleared from breakfast. The lady then became snippy, completely unjustified

Wiener Schnitzel very tasty. I also liked the potato salad with radishes served in a set. I missed some greens, but it was still tasty. The prices are not cheap, but it is an airport after all. The service was ok, she cared about the customer.

Walk in and get a table. Asked a waiter if they served gluten free options. He rolled his eyes and opened the menu in annoyance: “There are vegan things here and a few there too.” Immediately got up, left and avoided for the rest of time.

Pretty good for an airport option. The food is good quality with a number of vegetarian options clearly labeled. Decor is quaint and more appealing than the harsh airport lighting. Unfortunately, slow and slightly frantic service let's the place down a little. We took a late lunch when the team were reasonably busy but the service was disproportionately curt when we were eventually seen to.

Unfortunately, the cakes were absolutely not good and not of the usual Käfer quality. I was particularly irritated when I saw the exact same (visually striking) Sachertorte in the display at Dallmayer 10 meters away. I was actually expecting a beetle product...

We had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad twice for 29 EUR each.? One schnitzel was quite OK, the other portion was woven with tendons in both schnitzels. That's less fun given such a price. The waiter was very friendly and nice

We went to the Beetle for an early dinner before our flight. The service was good and the food was absolutely fine. Nevertheless, I have to note that the prices were very high for the very questionable cleanliness. I understand the high volume of traffic, but if it says Beetle on it, then you expect Beetle - in all areas. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't necessarily go there again.

Katharina at Sportalm was great. My wife only speaks English, and she helped her in good English. She was very personal, friendly, and professional! It was really nice to be there at Sportalm.

Mi hija está libre de gluten y para comprobar lo que podría tener del menú solo se necesitó escanear un código qr en el mostrador. Ella estaba tan feliz de 4 opciones diferentes y optó por una. Probé el plato Shanghai. Qué regalo fue para los dos. La comida tardó unos 20 minutos en estar lista, pero valió la pena esperar. Los tamaños de las porciones eran generosos y el sabor de ambos platos era increíble. Queríamos agradecer al personal por la comida tan deliciosa, pero se habían ido al final de su turno. Recomiendo a fondo el césped surf en el aeropuerto de Múnich. Cuesta 40 euros con bebidas

It's actually a nice café with food options and a resolute but friendly employee. The prices are reasonable for an airport, and airline credits are easily accepted and credited. A coffee and a small sandwich cost around €10, which is reasonable for 2025. Everything tastes very good.
