Jolly in Berlin

Last minute we were able to make a reservation. Very nice that we were still allowed to come. Because of this the dishes came a bit faster one after the other, but that is our own fault. Service was very friendly, food was really delicious, best duck ever eaten. Price menu very reasonable. Beautiful interior too. Recommended!

I've eaten here twice already and was satisfied. The portions are really generous, so there was always something left over. This is appropriate for the higher price. The service isn't overly friendly or attentive, but that's consistent with my experience with other Asian restaurants. The ambiance is nice, and you have a clear view of the kitchen. However, it's quite noisy, which makes conversation difficult, and it's quite cramped in some places. The food tasted okay. If you like Chinese food, I recommend trying Restaurant Jolly 🥟🍚🍲

A very extensive menu with mostly Chinese dishes, but also dishes from other Asian countries. Everything was fine except the price, which I thought was excessive. Rice can't cost 17 euros!

Refined environment, clean and well-organised place. Delicious food, of the highest quality. The only flaw is the booking time, the kitchen closes at 9pm so it is not possible to dine later. For the rest, highly recommended.

I went here for dinner. Reservation is recommended. They have a set menu for one person which I had. It was a good deal. The Dumplings and the peking duck were delicious. I liked everything about the place. The food, the service and the ambience was pleasant.

We had a traditional Peking duck meal here for three people. This was carved at the table. Very juicy and great in taste. The service was very attentive, friendly and professional. I heard they have the best Peking duck in town. Now I can only confirm that! The duck was like butter on the tongue and very tasty, but the skin was just a delight. We had several starters which were all very tasty. The desserts also blew us all away. So all in all, a great evening. I can only recommend eating the duck bones. This flavor bomb is really worth it!

Overall recommended. Fast and very friendly service. One point was deducted for the sweet and sour sauce because there was a lot of acid in it. The duck meat was crispy.The starter plate was very good. If you sit outside, you have to put up with the loud tram

The best Asian restaurant in Berlin

Google is closed for the holidays and won’t update it, which makes me run in vain.

I have been in Germany for a month, and currently I think this is the only Chinese restaurant in Berlin that you can get. Remember to order the pure Chinese menu on the last page of the menu.

Review: Mega tasty and super cozy in “Jolly” We recently went to the “Jolly” restaurant and are still thrilled! The Peking duck was simply amazing – crispy, tender and really tasty with the typical side dishes. But the other dishes we tried were also great – everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service was super friendly and was in a really good mood. Not only was it served quickly, but there was also a bit of fun - exactly the kind of service you want! The atmosphere in “Jolly” was really cozy. Perfect for a relaxed meal with the family. And what's also super important: everything was extremely clean and well-kept - you just feel comfortable there. In short: If you want good food in a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere, you should definitely go to “Jolly”! We'll definitely be back.

This was our second time at Jolly and we can highly recommend it. We ordered a Peking duck, which was carved at the table, enough for 3 people, and a selection of starters beforehand. The food was great, as was the service and ambience.

The interior will not impress you, but that’s one of the few decent restaurants near Museen Inseln. Try the wonton soup!

Always excellent food, fair prices and friendly staff. We always enjoy coming here. The Peking duck particularly stands out for us; There really isn't anywhere else as good as it is here! I also think it's nice that the teapot is always refilled with freshly brewed water. The employees are particularly attentive. Overall one of my favorite restaurants!

Food was wonderfully tasty & fresh. Felt like it had just left the pan. Busy for a Sunday afternoon- which added to the buzzy atmosphere. The pictures don’t do it justice. I would thoroughly recommend.

Bei jedem Berlinbesuch führt uns der erste Weg ins China-Restaurant zu Jolly. Wir freuen uns jedesmal auf die ausgezeichnete Küche mit Gerichten verschiedener Provienzen, angefangen von Dim Sum, der ausgezeichneten Pekingente bis auch einmal thailändischem Curry. Die Qualität der Zutaten, die Zubereitung, der freundlich fachgerechte Service und nicht zuletzt Restaurantleiter Wang überzeugen mit ansprechender Gastfreundschaft. Außer in London, Hongkong, Saigon oder Rangoon haben wir nirgends gleichwertig bzw. etwas besser gegessen. Kein Wunder, daß auch politische Prominenz, wie beim letzten Besuch gesehen, gerne hier einkehrt. Auch wir werden natürlich wiederkommen.

A very nice restaurant, with very attentive service staff and a great, clear menu. The restaurant was very busy that evening, but we were still served quickly. The staff helped us choose the dishes. The food served was absolutely delicious and prepared with love. We can only recommend the Jolly and would definitely like to come back, despite the 150km journey 🤗.

The fine and clean way to enjoy Chinese cuisine. A great experience and very tasty too. The main courses overtook the first drinks but there's something there always. Overall, very tasty stuff. From around 6 p.m. the volume reached 20 people. Birthday party at the tables next to you had the acoustic flair of a 747 taking off, but that's just who you are.

Cant recommend it enough. My first time visit but was with people going for the 5th time over a long period and they all agreed its always like this. Great service and great food. Go for the whole duck serviced tableside so worth it! Went personally for the mapu tofo and it was the highlight of the trip! Added laoganma makes it even better!

This is the best Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten at. It's best to book a table because it can be very busy in the evenings. Since it is located in the middle of Museum Island, many guests can eat there. It's especially nice when you sit near the open kitchen and can watch the chefs preparing the food. The staff is without exception friendly and attentive. There is a very pleasant light that makes every visit comfortable. I would recommend all of the house starters and recommendations. If you want something special and are there with several people, you can of course have the Peking duck, which is carved at the table and is a special experience. If you like drinking tea you should definitely try one. All varieties are high quality and a pure taste experience. If you like it spicy, you shouldn't miss the Sezchuan beef. It's a pleasure.

Sehr gutes chinesisches Restaurant. Die Spezialität ist die Peking Ente, die man ohne Vorbestellung authentisch am Tisch präsentiert bekommt. Auch die anderen Speisen die wir hatten, waren von bester Qualität und außergewöhnlichem Geschmack. Auch der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich!

The atmosphere of the restaurant, the kindness of the employees, and the taste of the food were all satisfactory. The portions of each dish were sufficient for the price, and the seasoning of the dishes was appropriate (some were slightly over-seasoned). The duck dish was especially delicious. The combination of the crispy exterior, moist interior, and sauce was really good. However, the taste of the beer was not fresh, so it would be nice if this part was the only issue.

Sehr leckeres Essen und nette Bedingung! The cucumbers at Vorspeise were so delicious (I ordered it twice) and the mapo tofu was delicious and not too spicy! It's not in the picture, but I ordered several dim sum dishes, and the pork dim sum was more delicious than the chicken. The food was good and the staff were all very friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and would be great for gatherings. I haven't tried duck, but I'll try it next time. A place I want to go again next time!!💜💜 Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen

One of my favourite restaurants in Berlin. The food is delicious, especially the duck, lamb with onion and spring onion, the beef with broccoli and the pork dumplings. Lovely service that is professional, quick and friendly.

Después de haber tenido nuestro lleno de cocina local nos apetecía algo diferente. Este restaurante no está lejos del Spree en la Isla de los Museos. Reservamos en línea el día anterior y sugeriría reservar , a la llegada para una reserva de las 7 pm el restaurante ya estaba lleno. Tuvimos una mesa agradable donde pudimos ver el ajetreo de un servicio de cena muy ocupado. Sabes que un restaurante chino será bueno cuando haya mucha gente china comiendo allí. Estaba limpio y elegante. Pedimos mezcla de Dim Sum 10 piezas para compartir, luego arroz frito de pollo, gambas agridulces, pollo con champiñones y verduras y carne frita salteada. El Dim Sum era excelente, todas las piezas tenían sabor individual y las salsas para mojar eran buenas, especialmente la picante! Cada plato era excelente y una porción generosa ideal para compartir. Podríamos habernos perdido el plato de arroz ya que el plato principal se sirvió con arroz hervido. Los platos se sirven cuando están listos. Con vino y postres llegó a 145 € Excelente relación calidad-precio, me encantaría volver y probar el pato crujiente que fue llevado a cada mesa por el chef y luego tallado delante del invitado. Una noche encantadora y lo recomendaría encarecidamente.

Overalll a good standard Chinese restaurant. The duck is to die for and yet the rest seems to be standard Chinese food. The atmosphere is not very attractive as it feels like a fast food service. English speaking staff is not much.

Authentic Chinese restaurant with outstanding service and great value for money! We have loved going here for many years, ever since JOLLY opened. The service begins at the door, where you are warmly welcomed. Yesterday we were there spontaneously with 8 people and even without a reservation we got a nice table. The selection of dishes is large but not overwhelming and we can really recommend all of the dishes. The waitresses are very attentive without being intrusive and you feel very valued and welcome as a guest. We always enjoy coming here. Conclusion: if you are looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant with a great ambience in Berlin-Mitte, JOLLY is the right place for you!

We can only talk about this restaurant in superlatives. We had the best Chinese food we had in years topped by outstanding service by Wong. He was one of the best waiters we ever had. When he brought the specialty tea we ordered he suggested to wait for 10 minutes to have the best result. Who shows up exactly 10 minutes later - Wong. He examined the color, found it to be too dark and added some water. The dishes were served perfectly timed . The hot and sour soup was the best as well as the moist duck. We also had the beef and vegetables. Delicious. The banana dessert was heavenly. I normally don’t like dessert but here they were wrapped in a paper thin crisp dough accompanied by ice cream. We’ll go back again today .😊

The food and service is very good. We were there during the week, but it was still very full. So it's best to reserve in advance. We all ordered different dishes so everyone could try each. Everything tasted very good and was very nicely presented. Also very large portions. We will eat there again.

Best traditional Chinese restaurant in Berlin and one of the best places to eat Peking duck in all of Germany! I would highly recommend ordering the Peking duck for 3-4, they carve it at your table, provide all the classic condiments and even ask how you'd prefer to have the remaining duck bones served (soup or fried), which is very authentic. If you're just there with 2ppl, they also offer Peking duck as an entry dish, so you won't miss out. All other duck dishes are also fantastic and they have a few other pretty special dishes on the menu, such as jellyfish salat. Prices are generally slightly higher than at other Chinese places, but still fair. Their Dim Sums are also pretty good and surprisingly cheaply priced. The interior and setting is very nice and clean, also suited for special occasions. Staff are very friendly and attentive (especially if you order the Peking duck, since it comes with extra service).

The soup was fantastic!!!! The skin was nice and crunchy on the roasted duck. The broth was flavorful. Loads of veggies!
