Shaniu’s House of Noodles is one of those places you don’t just go to, you keep coming back to—like a spring that has known you far longer than you realize. For years, I’ve been coming here, at least once a month, carried by a quiet certainty: something about this place makes life easier. You could order anything on the menu, and some evenings you do—not out of greed, but out of trust. But in the end, all paths always lead back to the cold noodles with peanut sauce, this simple, vibrant dish that overwhelms you with an almost childlike joy. The table fills up every time like an overwhelmed altar: plate upon plate, bowl upon bowl. The waiters cast that slightly horrified look, as if they sense some impending disaster. And then they marvel when everything disappears, completely, thoroughly—as if hunger itself has performed an inexplicable ritual. You don’t sit down because it’s particularly beautiful. The aesthetics are secondary, almost incidental. And yet: Everything you need is right here. The service isn't friendly in the traditional sense, but in a far better way: effortless, clear, and attentive. You're seen without being stared at. You're taken care of without having to ask for anything. Eating outside in the summer is a small, hard-won pleasure, like a rare spot by the water. The line says it all: people know this place is good. There are now several branches—all respectable, some even good—but none carry the weight of the original. Only here sits the bespectacled owner, who looks at you as if he's already registered you, even though you know that's not true. And yet, it feels like you belong here, not by name, but as a person. Shaniu’s House of Noodles isn't a pretty shop, not a polished experience. It's an honest place: full of flavor, full of life, full of quiet generosity. And that, in essence, is much rarer than anything else.

I had eggplant fritters, kalté noodles, and beef noodles!! You can get a taste of authentic German cuisine!!

We had our lunch at this restaurant. The spicy beef noodles soup is amazing! The beef was juicy and tender and the soup base was appropriately spicy and tasty. We are used to having spicy foods so we loved it very much!

My friend and I were disappointed. We arrived and, since it was packed, we asked the waitress if she had a table inside if we came back in half an hour. She said yes, and when we came back, we were told that if we wanted to eat, we would have to go outside. We ordered two noodle and dumpling dishes. My noodles (bamboo noodles, tofu, and mushroom) were oversalted to the point that I had a hard time finishing them. It's a shame, because I'm sure they would have been very good otherwise. The dumplings weren't exceptional. They looked like the defrosted ones you can buy at an Asian supermarket. The waiters were friendly despite being overwhelmed by the crowd.

Cant gatekeep anymore! one of my favourite & the best restaurant. Deep fried chicken with spicy sauce, fried aubergine, soup with beef+pork intestine, fish soup.. this is always what I go back for. The BEST

We had the cold noodles and dumplings. Both were delicious and highly recommended! It's just a shame that you couldn't order soup dumplings at lunchtime. And it was a bit cramped inside, but otherwise everything was great!

A cheap Chinese restaurant in the otherwise expensive Charlottenburg district. Lots of students, friendly service, and very crowded. However, it's not a "noodle house," but a completely normal Chinese restaurant that also offers Korean cuisine. The food was okay, but not a revival experience.

If you like Asian food, this is the place to go. A huge selection. Be sure to try the cold noodles! The fried garlic chicken is also recommended. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices round out the overall experience. Parking is available in front of the door, if available. Reservations are highly recommended, as the place is always busy.

I ordered half a dozen takeaway dishes over the phone during lunchtime. Ordering was straightforward, pickup was problem-free, and the food was delicious, especially the braised and fried eggplants are a dream!

It's seriously delicious... The eggplant fritters and kalté noodles are super delicious. I highly recommend them. I'll be back. + It's been a while since I've been here, and instead of kalté noodles, they've become peanut noodles... The noodles are different, too... The peanut sauce is ridiculously overpowering. I debated whether to say anything, but I didn't, but maybe I should have... 🥲 I've had kalté noodles here five times, but this is the first time I left it because it was so greasy...

I have to say, I'm really surprised by how good everything tastes here. Every dish was extremely tasty and well-seasoned. The food arrived quickly and hot. The portions are generous. I never thought this restaurant would be this good. We'll be back more often and try other dishes. Definitely recommend it.

We were quite disappointed with our visit overall. I would have given 1 star, but the starters were decent so 2 feels fair. We ordered a fried aubergine dish that unfortunately was far too acidic and sweet for our taste. We returned it, but the response from the staff felt indifferent—they simply packed it up and still expected us to pay. We noticed the same thing happen to another table while we were there, which gave the impression that the restaurant may not fully appreciate the customer’s perspective

Very nice place, considered not giving 5 stars to the food because I believe dishes where a bit small and a tiny bit insipid, was expecting more flavor overall. BUT food was extremely fresh and everything was basically delicious. Very nice service, though they got a bit confused with the options we chose for every dish, so be sure they take note of what you order, especially if you speak not in German. Nice chill neighborhood to be around.

I often go there when I crave for udon noodles, and the Kaltenoodles are a delicacy. This time, the chef must have missed an ingredient, and the Kaltenoodles tasted so different from the ones I usually eat, so I told him and he immediately made a new one (thank you). And the eggplant fritters are a must :)

Dumplings are okay but very small and unfortunately no mixed set is sold.

Three stars at most... The restaurant is quite small, but there are even more tables inside. As soon as you enter, you can only squeeze between the tables with extreme caution. Accordingly, the noise level is more like a train station than a cozy restaurant. The food itself is average at best. Anyone expecting authentic Chinese cuisine will unfortunately be disappointed. Everything tastes very much like "ready-made sauce." We had beef with cumin (without cumin), roast pork belly (braised, not fried), and fried shrimp (small and very salty). Each dish also included carrots, green peppers, and onions, that's it (see pictures). Apparently, these were the weekly specials at the wholesale market... Our neighbors' plates were no more varied. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

The flavors of the dishes are decent, the presentation is good, the size a bit small (doesn’t bother me), but unfortunately the food left this MSG or artificial sugar after-taste. Been asked if the dishes contain MSG, the waiter “educated” me the official name for MSG is 谷氨酸钠 (Monosodium glutamate) and how common it is in our daily dining and cooking, existing in soy-sauce for example (not in the soy-sauce I bought though). Thanks to his honesty, he told me some dishes have MSG, some have 鸡精 (this chicken flavor seasoning), some have other stuff. Another staff came over to sooth things over, subtly clarifying that some dishes might contain chicken flavor seasoning (only). Anyway the after-taste in the mouth that last for the rest of the day was terrible, and surely on the higher level comparing to some other Chinese restaurants, I had to keep drinking water for the thirst. It would be much better for health reason that MSG and other artificial additive could be clarified on the menu, be an option-off and the dishes could still remind flavorful.

I’m from Hong Kong and am so happy to have stumbled upon this noodle house! Food is solidly delicious and all the staff are so friendly. They chatted with me, found out I’m from hk, and even spoke Cantonese to me! Love this kind of gem of restaurants ☺️

Shaniu's House of Noodels is perhaps the best Chinese restaurant in Wilmersdorf, at least in terms of value for money and service. The quality of the food is generally good to very good, but the interior isn't particularly atmospheric. In summer, you can sit outside on the quiet Pariser Strasse.

Geniunly one of the most authentic places in Berlin. Service was incredibly kind and atmosphere was chill and not too busy when we visited, even though I know that it can get really full! I ate the “Scharfe Suppe mit Rindfleisch” which was amazing! The portions are quite large, and normally priced.

Shaniu's House of Noodle is a simply decorated Chinese restaurant. We went there on a Friday evening and it was packed; without a reservation, you won't be able to get in, so if you want to go, make sure you make a reservation. Inside, the tables are packed tightly together, and sometimes the staff can barely get through. Everything is somewhat loud and hectic, but somehow it fits the concept. The staff also seems disorganized and unorganized, but no order is forgotten. There are also a few tables outside, and the outdoor tables are certainly very popular, especially when it gets a bit warmer. The four of us ordered four dishes. The portions don't seem particularly large, but since you can keep getting refilled rice, you'll still feel very full. The dishes were delicious; the spicy beef was really hot (not European hot), the cold noodles were amazing, and the mama tofu and pork belly were also excellent.

I've been going to this restaurant for 10 years, but it's been a long time since I've been here, and it doesn't taste like the old days at all, and the ingredients are cheap, the meat is cheap, and the staff are really rude. They curse each other in Chinese. Except for the owner, the other staff are really problematic. They don't even make eye contact and don't come no matter how long I wait because they're afraid of being called. They're friendly to German customers. The first time I had eggplant tangsuyuk, I was really happy, but now the price has doubled and the quantity and quality are not good. The eggplant tangsuyuk was really mushy, as if it was just soaked in oil and then drained, and the inside wasn't even cooked, and the meat was already separated from the eggplant with a bad smell. The other meat was also cheap, fried, and frozen. Even the male staff member was annoying at the end... It was perfect.

Really delicious, v friendly service, decent prices and a menu that's the perfect combination of authentic and accessible - and unfortunately much too large to try in one go, I guess I'll just have to be back!

I don't know if I am generally not the person for Chinese food (if it's always like this) or if I just don't like this place specifically too much. The food we ordered was waaay too oily! We had the Tan Tan noodles and the eggplant with minced meat and especially the latter was basically swimming in oil. My stomach felt really bad afterwards. However, the waiter and waitress were really sweet and friendly. Yet, I would not go there again and don't think it's special.

What we got today was a total joke. We always liked to get something there, but lately there was always something missing. Portions fluctuate constantly and the portion today was an absolute disgrace. My son had crispy duck with fried noodles and the duck was so small for 15 euros. So it can be something, but we were just annoyed on our last two visits. I don't have a problem if the price increases, but the quality and portions shouldn't get smaller and worse. So I won't buy anything there anymore, I'm so annoyed.

Never disappointed. We've been regular customers for years and we'll stay that way. I don't really like tofu - it tastes fantastic here with salt and pepper. I'm not an eggplant fan here, I eat them every other visit TOP restaurant with a very lovely owner

Unbelievable. I had reserved a table but unfortunately I couldn't get there on time due to the train being late and I tried to call to let you know. I called 16 times and not once did anyone answer the phone. When I got there the table was of course gone, I explained the situation and the boss said the phone was broken, which couldn't be possible because 1. I had called a few hours earlier to reserve this table and the phone was still working and 2. A waitress said a few minutes later that no one had time to answer the phone. Lying to a customer's face is an outrage. In addition, we were then told that we would have to wait 15 minutes or that the three of us would have to squeeze into a two-person table outside, because the two people next to us (who didn't have a reservation, as they said) were seated at the large table inside because they were there earlier. So we were basically left standing there stupidly and had the option of squeezing into a mini table where there were a lot of other people sitting instead of the couple sitting at that one and us at the big one. :) I was so angry at how carelessly this situation was handled that we went somewhere else and I'm sure I won't try there a second time.

Me and my husband love the spicy dishes! I ordered mine with extra spicy and it’s really delicious! I would also recommend the iced jasmine tea. It’s refreshing after the spicy yummy dishes.

Stuffed eggplant on another level!

A small but nice restaurant where you can get very tasty Chinese dishes. Some of the dishes are also vegan. The dishes we tried all tasted extremely good! Price-performance ratio is definitely right here. The homemade drinks are also delicious and very refreshing.

We used to visit this place quite frequently. However, yesterday, we ordered a teriyaki chicken, but the sauce was salty and burnt, we ate 3 bites, but still they charged us half price of the dish. Instead of it, we ordered beef with onions, but the dish didn't have more than 4 small pieces of beef, still charged 15 EUR for this. It's very sad that we're not coming back to this place.

Ate the cold noodles with minced pork, the vegetarian noodles with mushrooms and broccoli with beef, and a morel salad as a starter. Everything was pretty disappointing, at the level of “I could have put it together myself in 15 minutes”, the morel salad in particular was really inedible.

Authentic Chinese noodle soup cuisine. Not a “hip” shop that suddenly serves mountains of pasta drowned in chili oil because it’s trendy. It's full, it's loud and it's delicious and the value for money is just really, really good. But above all, the people are really nice :) Real KungFu Panda vibes come up.

The place is popular, but the food is a bit blunt. I had to ask for chili, which was not on the table. Neither was soy sauce. The plane is also very noisy. The worst was a guitar player, which started playing some loud western music, only to collect money later for his unwanted performance. There are better similar places around!

You can have an inexpensive and delicious lunch. They have both Chinese and Korean food. It might be convenient to have a Japanese clerk. It's pretty crowded during the day, so you might want to make a reservation. However, it is a friendly restaurant where there are quite a few people who wander in by themselves, have a quick bite to eat, and then leave.

3 stars for the food, 1 star for the service as we ordered a bunch of bowls thinking they were small but actually the were huge and we couldn't finish the portion so we asked for the leftovers to take away but the package had no lid just an aluminum foil in a cardboard bag instead of the typical plastic bag.. all the sauce spilled all over us and in the car and it was horrible and ruined our day basically. a nightmare. Also menu with pictures has no prices on them so we also ended up paying a lot.. good strategy!

One of the best places for Asian food. The food is very nicely flavored and the portions are big too. The beef is also super tender. I would really recommend the bibimbap and the chili oil wontons.

Discriminatory. Cash will not be accepted; only card payments will be accepted. The food is ok, but nothing special. The hype surrounding this store is incomprehensible. The lady behind the counter is also completely overwhelmed, so the queue is long even outside of rush hour.

What a lovely place to grab lunch! It was quite busy and the waiter struggled to bring the right dish (one of) straight away. However, all we had was delicious! Highly recommend to visit.

The food is already unique. Deep Umami Vibez with lots of interesting dishes. The noodles are super mushy and eggplant lovers can get a dish of every spiciness here. Dumplings were also very tasty. Price-performance ratio is very good here. Only the drink selection is a bit poor, and the ambience is rather loud, cramped and bistro-like. But you always like to come back for food and wait for a seat. Reservations are important.

Very noisy, just about full on a Tuesday at around 18:00. Food decent value, but disappointing considering the reviews praising it - it’s ok, not special, but the price is right. I‘m put off returning by the fact that I couldn’t talk with my fellow diner, sitting just opposite. Very noisy, which makes some folks just about shout to make themselves understood.

Very busy restaurant so make sure you book a reservation beforehand. We ordered the Tan Tan Noodles, the Spicy beef broth, the Sweet and Sour chicken, cucumber and garlic salad and an aubergine dish. The aubergine dish was the showstopper. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the noodles or the broth but the other dishes were great and a very reasonable price.

Excellent little Chinese restaurant specializing in fresh noodle soups and noodle dishes and more. I often eat there with Chinese friends. You can also see a lot of Chinese among the guests there.

I went to this noodle restaurant because of the many reviews on Xiaohongshu. We ordered four bowls of noodles, but none of them were handmade. The texture of the noodles was very average. The beef seemed to have been pre-cooked the day before. Don’t recommend

Cuando sonó nuestra alarma a las 2: 45 AM hora del Reino Unido esta mañana lo último en nuestra mente era encontrar un lugar para cenar esta noche. Un viaje hasta Bristol, luego el vuelo de 700 millas al aeropuerto de Brandenburgo más tarde nos encontramos tomando el tour en autobús de Berlín. Al registrarnos en el Premier Inn de al lado y una rápida siesta de energía más tarde nos arrastramos a regañadientes de nuevo fuera para encontrar comida. El menú en la ventana parecía interesante y tienen fotos de los platos en la pared sobre la cocina, lo cual es increíble, ya que puedes ver lo que vas a pedir antes de pedirlo. El personal es muy amable y muy servicial. La comida fue cocinada fresca y se puede ver a los chefs trabajando detrás de las pantallas de vidrio. El servicio fue extremadamente rápido y la comida era increíble. Con un sabor delicado, nada abrumador y en general muy agradable. Definitivamente nos volveremos a detener de nuevo si nos encontramos en Berlín en el futuro!

I think this is my most visited restaurant in Berlin and I travel for an hour just to eat here. Amazing and delicious food plus the ambiance is really homey. I always eat Bibimbap even though I tried other things too and they were equally good.

As a person who lived in China I must admit it was very authentic. The flavour, the spices, the meat. We had different typ of soups and wonton. It was soo good that we decided to go there a second time. It can be crowded but the stuff is very helpful. Just perfect food expirience.
