This evening, a very good friend of ours had the brilliant idea of ​​going out for an authentic, unusual, and very good meal. Even though we were sitting at a renowned steakhouse, we jumped up full of enthusiasm and joy and drove around Düsseldorf. A fantastic experience that was totally worth it! Delicious, authentic food, a great atmosphere (even though it was a Sunday and the road was busy), very nice, friendly, and young staff, and incredible value for money. Something completely different, with excellent culinary delights and truly worth a visit.

Guys, quick update: I was in food heaven the day before yesterday. And I have to tell you about it! ✨ I'm talking about Jenka Restaurant & Bar on Heresbachstrasse in Bilk. Do you know the place? If not, you've really been missing out. Honestly. Forget everything you think you know about "Easter-European cuisine." What the chef conjures up is simply in a different league. We had these handmade pelmeni (dumplings) – I'd go back for that alone. 🤤 But then came the Kiev cutlet... Dude! 🤯 That perfect crust on the outside and so incredibly juicy on the inside that it's almost indecent. No joke, that was soul food on a whole new level. And the atmosphere? You walk in and immediately feel at home. No stuffy posturing, just warm. You can tell that the chef and his team put their heart and soul into what they do. He beams from ear to ear when people enjoy their food, and the service is just as sweet, attentive, and simply cool. You feel less like a guest and more like you're visiting good friends. ❤️ This is unpaid advertising, straight from my gut, because the evening was simply perfect from start to finish. So, my tip for you: If you want to go out for a really, REALLY good meal, treat yourself to Jenka. Trust me, you'll thank me! 😉

The spaghetti with shrimp, and roasted octopus on a bed of eggplant puree, is excellent. The service is very good. I recommend it.

My husband and I were in this wonderful place. For the first time in a long time, we liked all the dishes we ordered, the portions were good, the price was right, the taste was pleasing. The only thing that was missing was walnuts in the eggplant rolls. I would also advise when serving the fur coat, not to add oil to the salad for decoration, but to sprinkle with lemon juice. About dessert separately, I was looking for the perfect Napoleon, both at home and in this restaurant, it was the best in Germany, the only thing is that the dough was a little thick, but the cream was so amazing and indescribably delicious that you don’t pay attention to everything else. About the service, we were there on Sunday and the waitress was alone and busy, we waited a little with the service, but she still brightened up our stay there, so despite the wait, with good and polite treatment, everything quickly smooths out. And so for everyone who misses pleasant memories of their native cuisine, this is definitely the place for you🤗

Restaurant Jenka is a real discovery! The dishes are always top-notch — whatever you order, everything is incredibly delicious. From borscht with lard to chebureks — I tried everything and never regretted it. The staff is attentive, always helps with the choice and brings orders quickly. It is a real pleasure to come here again and again.

This is a restaurant that serves Eastern European cuisine. It is called “Zhenka” in honor of the chef of this restaurant. The restaurant is small, there is a summer terrace. The food is prepared in front of you and you can watch it cooking from the dining room. We ordered shashlik, pelmeni, vareniki with potatoes and mushrooms, Napoleon and chocolate fondue. Everything was delicious. The service is quick, the staff is friendly. We will definitely come back.

A slightly hidden gem off the beaten path. Due to the location it is unfortunately quite loud on the terrace, next time we will probably prefer to go inside. To the essentials: cuisine from the ex-Soviet Union is served here, especially specialties from Crimea, but also some from Georgia. A corresponding selection of wines and spirits, as well as a Russian beer, complete the menu. The food is all completely handmade and absolutely delicious. It's a bit heartier, preferably fried and/or with a lot of sour cream. But it's worth trying everything. The delicious borscht was eaten so quickly that there is no photo. Otherwise we had: Salad Olivier, Chebureki and Varenyky. The latter in particular are a poem, but the enormous craftsmanship is evident in all the dishes. A special compliment to our waiter; He's probably only been there for a short time, but he's passionate about it. Great job, you felt welcome and well looked after at all times. Keep it up, we'll definitely be back.

The food is delicious, the portions are large. But the portion of the Napoleon dessert is catastrophically small for 13 euros! The waiter is probably new and inexperienced. She dropped the cutlery and shouted “damn” to the whole room. Thank you for not swearing. The cutlery was not taken back to the sink, but was wrapped in napkins for serving. The question remains: did the forks we ate with today fall on the floor? Upon entering, the waiter greeted us with a rather familiar “hello.” Although we came for the first time. I think we need to teach the waiter the phrase “good afternoon or good evening.” In general, the waiter's communication style is not entirely customer-oriented.

From Düsseldorf's vast culinary offerings, we chose the Jenka restaurant, and it was completely justified. My husband and I were there for the first time. The very attentive and friendly staff guarantees a good mood. We ordered shashlik, of course, served with potatoes, green beans, and pickled onions, along with eggplant rolls. For dessert, we had a cappuccino and the most delicious Napoleon we've ever tasted! At our table, we could watch the chef in the open kitchen conjuring up dishes for the guests, like a fire show.

We all visited your restaurant. We were looking for Ukrainian cuisine and found the Val restaurant on the Internet. I want to say that I ate such delicious pilmeni 15 years ago when my grandmother made them from them. The borscht, shuba and chicken shish kebab were simply incredibly delicious. Serving food is not something aesthetic at all. The taste of the dishes is just fire 🔥 The food is served very quickly. The service is amazing. Big respect to Chef Zhenya! We watched him cook. Our first, new restaurant with the Taste Twelve voucher book and an absolute hit! We know Russian and Ukrainian cuisine very well and were excited. All the dishes were very authentic and extremely tasty. Plus a Chardonney from Moldova and Ukrainian vodka. Plus an extremely motivated and friendly service. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back!

We celebrated our birthday at the Jenka restaurant. Incredibly tasty dishes, beautiful presentation and price = quality. The atmosphere is nice, there is enough space. Special thanks to the owner and chef Evgeniy, a wonderful person, chef and cook. And also to the waiter (with long hair) for your attentiveness and courtesy to all the guests. We had a great time with delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. I definitely recommend it. We wish the restaurant and its owner success and prosperity!

This is definitely the best, most intimate and pleasant restaurant in Europe. Every dish is prepared with love, with a piece of soul! There is a choice of borscht with or without meat (we ate both and both were super), I forgot to warn that I didn’t want sour cream and they immediately offered to replace it with a new one! I usually don’t like cabbage and beets in borscht, and I only eat potatoes, but here I ate everything to the last spoon, because the cabbage is the most tender, melting in your mouth. Dumplings are probably the best in my life, soft, delicious potatoes, there are no mushrooms inside (I don’t like the consistency of mushrooms inside dumplings), but at the same time they are fried with mushrooms and this gives a flavor, I was delighted. Napoleon is fabulous, soft, tasty, just the right amount of sweet, perfect cream and dough. The cheesecakes are prepared in three ways at once, just perfect cheesecakes that I will try to replicate at home. The cook feels the cooking process, the sweetness, the consistency, and he guesses everything right to make a masterpiece. And how beautiful they were, it’s a pity that I didn’t take a photo. Incredibly delicious. And the perfect relaxing atmosphere for a comfortable evening, attention to detail, customer care at every turn. Candles, music, hand cream in the toilet (I’ve never seen this anywhere). And all this for minimal, simply symbolic prices!!! The service was simply amazing, it was like coming to dinner at a family home. Thank you so much for such a place! Glad we found you❤️❤️

I was particularly impressed by a small gesture: when I asked for a disposable straw, unfortunately there were no longer any available, but the team immediately offered to remake my cocktail and issue a new straw, still in the packaging. Found this place on Google Maps and wanted to try it out because of its good ratings. And it did not disappoint! The food was amazing. The service was friendly. And the place was very relaxed. Really enjoyable meal. We ordered 4 starters to share, a main dish each, 2 bottles of wine, a couple of beers and it was about 45 eur per person. So really good value for the price and quality. Happy to come back again!

I had dinner there with my wife. We were warmly welcomed and taken straight to our reserved spot. The service was very nice and courteous, so we quickly had drinks at the table. The order for the food was taken quickly and freshly prepared immediately. My wife ordered a borscht for herself and we ordered pelmeni and Jenka's shashlik for me, and my wife also ordered an Olivier salad. The food was fresh and very appetizingly prepared. We both really enjoyed it. I would like to recommend this restaurant because it is really worth it. Thanks to the team for the great service and the lovely evening with my wife. Four of us ate at Jenka. The food was very good. The ambience was nice. We found the service to be improved. It was cleared away even though not everyone had finished eating. There were also 2-3 similar topics.

Ordered bruschetta, truffle pasta and beef stroganoff. Tastes perfect, super tasty at a fair price in my opinion. Unfortunately the service and organizations on the day were terrible. There was a new (inexperienced) waiter, which was both seen and heard. Bottles fell and food took longer to arrive due to miscommunication (?). But I can still turn a blind eye to inexperienced new waiters.

Having seen good reviews and missing our native cuisine, we decided to visit this restaurant. As people associated with cooking and gastronomy, I am writing a detailed review in the hope that the restaurant management will not take this personally, but will listen. We ordered: Olivier, shuba, cheburek (chebureks), lard, beef stroganoff, chicken Kiev and Napoleon cake, as well as compote wine, vodka, Americano and cappuccino. Olivier - the portion is small, the consistency is runny, there are a lot of peas and very little of the declared veal tongue. The fur coat was a bit dry, but what was most surprising was that the herring under the fur coat was from German cans with vinegar instead of the lightly salted herring or mackerel that is common in post-Soviet countries. Cheburek. I liked that there was a lot of filling, but the dough was too thick. The girl who served us said that the second cheburek would be brought later, since it was still frozen. As a result, it was never brought, although the menu indicated that there should be three of them. On the receipt there was a price of 15.90 €, the same as for three chebureks. Salo. The chef offered a selection of three types of lard. Unfortunately, all three were sprinkled so generously with coarse salt that it did not allow the full flavor to be felt. Beef Stroganoff. Overall I liked it, but the presentation was disappointing. The dish contained finely chopped vegetables, including bell peppers, from which the skin was not removed and it stuck to the roof of the mouth. Usually the skin is removed from bell peppers. Chicken Kiev. The meat is a bit dry and over-salted. The dill in the filling was either overdried or frozen. Serving with a huge slice of lemon and a huge bunch of microgreens was unnecessary. As a native Kiev resident, this was painful for me💔 Napoleon. Delicious and unusual cream, but the cakes are too thick and not soaked. Wine. We ordered one side of Primitivo (Primitivo Di Manduria). Menu price 8.50€. In the receipt, already at home, we saw that two glasses of Hauswein were counted for 7.00 €, a total of 14.00 € (((( There are no complaints about compote, vodka and cappuccino) The Americano was like German coffee from a thermos. Cherry tomatoes were found in many dishes. They looked like canned tomatoes, but they had no taste - no acid, no salt, no sweetness. The service is generally pleasant. The restaurant is located on the corner of wide roads, with a train passing nearby. Parking problems are also present, as elsewhere. Despite the surprisingly high rating, our criticism and the fact that we were shortchanged by approximately 17.00 €, I give it 4, because I understand how difficult it is to run a gastronomic business, and to some extent in advance.

A great place to eat traditional cuisine, but with beautiful presentation. Olivier salad, borscht, khinkali were very tasty, we will definitely come back here to try more other dishes. The chef and waiters are very nice. It’s great when the staff cares about the quality of the services provided and cares about the satisfaction of visitors. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance (especially on weekends), as there are not very many places. This is easy to do through the official website or here in Google Maps.

You can't say anything bad about the restaurant, it doesn't deserve it but it already had its drawbacks. At first we were very hospitably accepted and the food was very nice, etc. We really liked it, the only thing we liked was the food. It was mediocre, although the chebureki was very tasty on the one hand, just like Olivie, but the okroachka was an unbearable disaster, but otherwise I only noticed that under the term large, only small ones were offered, the price was incomprehensible and the portion was far too small, you had to buy things for 80 euros To feed 2 people.

Portions are not large, but because of this, you can order several dishes at once. Khinkali-top, thank you for this inclusion to Ukrainian cuisine. Vareniki - top... But I liked everything top!

Very tasty food that was something new in terms of taste - the Shuba was a dream, as were the eggplant rolls, the classic Chicken Kiev and the shish kebab 😋👌 The only wish we had regarding the meal would be for the main course to have a more traditional side dish than a wild herb salad. I don't know what's typically Russian/Ukrainian, but a beetroot salad or something with white cabbage would certainly be an option. Otherwise a good service. Music was a bit loud and cigarette smoke wafted in from outside, but well, the owners can't do anything about that.

Stayed in Düsseldorf for 3 days, and ate here 2 out of 3 days here. The food is fresh and delicious. Shuba was fanatic! Borscht- I had it twice! So much flavor. Cannot wait to come back!

The food tastes great, everything is prepared very freshly and warmly, which you can tell in the taste at the end. Unfortunately the Chebureky and sweet Vareniky were out but I'll definitely be back for that. A very nice restaurant with good, beautifully presented food and nice service. Anyone who is not familiar with Russian-Ukrainian cuisine will be well advised, and there is also a selection of Mediterranean dishes. For starters we had Salad Olivier, Shuba and the eggplant rolls. I would have been happy with pomegranate seeds for the eggplant rolls... That's how I got to know them and that gives the whole thing a refreshing accent. I didn't know Shuba yet and it really caught my attention! 😊 For the main course we had the 2 different Vareniki and the Chicken Kiev, for dessert we had Napoleon and the chocolate cake. Everything was very tasty. I can only agree with the previous reviews. Napoleon is definitely recommended! Thank you for the lovely evening, I’d love to come again!

In Düsseldorf gab es bislang leider kaum ukrainische oder russische Restaurants. In diese Marktlücke stößt das Jenka auf sehr hohem Niveau! Sei es nun Schuba, Olivier-Salat, Borschtsch, Kiewer Hühnchen - selten haben wir die Klassiker der osteuropäischen Küche so exzellent und auch optisch ansprechend genossen. Dazu noch eine sehr sympathische Crew und eine gemütliche Einrichtung - wir kommen gerne wieder!
