We weren't very satisfied. The food was okay, but the young waitress was very aloof. When we asked about a dish, she simply replied, "We don't have it today." No further explanation. Although the restaurant is open until 10 p.m., we were thrown out at 9 p.m. The chairs were stacked up around us, and we were asked to pay. We could barely finish our wine. Very unfriendly to customers. Not a recommendation!! And we won't be back.

When we arrived, unfortunately, all the tables were occupied, we were ready to order food to take with us and wait 15 minutes. We wanted chebureks, as on the menu, but we were told that they were not available and could not be ordered. From the threshold they spoke to us in Russian, although I addressed them in Ukrainian, and my partner in German and he could not understand anything, so I translated in my head from Russian to Ukrainian and for him into German.

The two of us went there for dinner and immediately felt very comfortable. The menu is nicely divided into typical, traditional Eastern European dishes and more classic Mediterranean cuisine. We came specifically for the Crimean cuisine and were not disappointed. Everything was extremely delicious and beautifully presented. We were thrilled. The service was also excellent and very friendly. We had a very pleasant time at Jenka's. We would gladly return.

I visited a Ukrainian restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered borscht, but unfortunately, the broth was lean and unsalted, completely lacking in flavor, lacking the characteristic depth of flavor typically found in good meat and simmered vegetables. The meat in the borscht also left a bad impression: every piece was covered in fat and tendons. I didn't eat any meat at all, as they used poor-quality trimmings, not real meat. The service was polite, but the food was definitely not something I'd want to return for. I hope the kitchen will rethink its approach to classic dishes.

A cozy little place. There are many interesting menu items that I still want to try. But so far I've only ordered the syrniki. On a scale of 5, I'd give them a 4 because they're a bit greasy for my taste; it's better not to fry them in oil that much. I give the service a 5+. The girl working there is very positive and friendly :)

I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant trip was so disappointing that even a week later I haven't forgotten the impression. The two of us ordered: okroshka, borscht, salo, shashlik, Napoleon for dessert. Let's start with the fact that we were sitting outside, the table wasn't even wiped down when we sat down. We ordered "homemade kvass" and were very surprised when they brought us kvass in a bottle. Why lie and write "hausgemacht"? The portion of salo for 10€ was tiny, a little smaller than what came with the borscht. Okroshka and salo were brought, and we had to wait an additional 40 minutes for the borscht. Was it cooked from the very beginning? Okroshka was the biggest disappointment. It had no taste, just absolutely 0. We squeezed 3 lemon wedges in there, added 2 spoons of salt and pepper to get at least some taste! Shashlik was just fried meat from the oven or frying pan. Napoleon - a pathetic parody of store-bought puff pastry and sticky sweet cream. Very expensive restaurant, although the quality or level of food does not match at all. The service was very slow and inattentive, although there were very few people in the restaurant. On the plus side: borscht was delicious! Our bill was 80€

A truly great restaurant. The food here is more "Eastern Bloc." Traditional Ukrainian cuisine seems to be a top priority. The service staff are consistently friendly and helpful, typical of Ukrainians. The ambiance is good, although as a native German, it'll take some getting used to. But overall, everything is very good.

I would describe the food as «fancy Eastern European home cuisine». It’s absolutely delicious and at the same time doesn’t lose home-made authenticity and taste. On the other hand the service was poor. At first we were told there are no tables inside, but it was a confusion. Wait times of dishes are long and we had no information. When we paid we had to recall all the dishes and who ordered them. Also the food I asked to pack to go was never brought to me.

Absolutely fantastic! The Chicken Kiev was incredibly juicy and full of flavor, and the new beef sash with beef bacon also tastes incredibly good. The juicy meat and beef bacon provide a mild, subtle bacon flavor, not as intense as pork bacon. The delicious cocktails rounded off a fantastic evening. Thank you, I'll be back!

This evening, a very good friend of ours had the brilliant idea of ​​going out for an authentic, unusual, and very good meal. Even though we were sitting at a renowned steakhouse, we jumped up full of enthusiasm and joy and drove around Düsseldorf. A fantastic experience that was totally worth it! Delicious, authentic food, a great atmosphere (even though it was a Sunday and the road was busy), very nice, friendly, and young staff, and incredible value for money. Something completely different, with excellent culinary delights and truly worth a visit.

Guys, quick update: I was in food heaven the day before yesterday. And I have to tell you about it! ✨ I'm talking about Jenka Restaurant & Bar on Heresbachstrasse in Bilk. Do you know the place? If not, you've really been missing out. Honestly. Forget everything you think you know about "Easter-European cuisine." What the chef conjures up is simply in a different league. We had these handmade pelmeni (dumplings) – I'd go back for that alone. 🤤 But then came the Kiev cutlet... Dude! 🤯 That perfect crust on the outside and so incredibly juicy on the inside that it's almost indecent. No joke, that was soul food on a whole new level. And the atmosphere? You walk in and immediately feel at home. No stuffy posturing, just warm. You can tell that the chef and his team put their heart and soul into what they do. He beams from ear to ear when people enjoy their food, and the service is just as sweet, attentive, and simply cool. You feel less like a guest and more like you're visiting good friends. ❤️ This is unpaid advertising, straight from my gut, because the evening was simply perfect from start to finish. So, my tip for you: If you want to go out for a really, REALLY good meal, treat yourself to Jenka. Trust me, you'll thank me! 😉

Tasty, fast, civilized, I would like a little more Ukrainian cuisine.

The spaghetti with shrimp, and roasted octopus on a bed of eggplant puree, is excellent. The service is very good. I recommend it.

My husband and I were in this wonderful place. For the first time in a long time, we liked all the dishes we ordered, the portions were good, the price was right, the taste was pleasing. The only thing that was missing was walnuts in the eggplant rolls. I would also advise when serving the fur coat, not to add oil to the salad for decoration, but to sprinkle with lemon juice. About dessert separately, I was looking for the perfect Napoleon, both at home and in this restaurant, it was the best in Germany, the only thing is that the dough was a little thick, but the cream was so amazing and indescribably delicious that you don’t pay attention to everything else. About the service, we were there on Sunday and the waitress was alone and busy, we waited a little with the service, but she still brightened up our stay there, so despite the wait, with good and polite treatment, everything quickly smooths out. And so for everyone who misses pleasant memories of their native cuisine, this is definitely the place for you🤗

This is a restaurant that serves Eastern European cuisine. It is called “Zhenka” in honor of the chef of this restaurant. The restaurant is small, there is a summer terrace. The food is prepared in front of you and you can watch it cooking from the dining room. We ordered shashlik, pelmeni, vareniki with potatoes and mushrooms, Napoleon and chocolate fondue. Everything was delicious. The service is quick, the staff is friendly. We will definitely come back.

A slightly hidden gem off the beaten path. Due to the location it is unfortunately quite loud on the terrace, next time we will probably prefer to go inside. To the essentials: cuisine from the ex-Soviet Union is served here, especially specialties from Crimea, but also some from Georgia. A corresponding selection of wines and spirits, as well as a Russian beer, complete the menu. The food is all completely handmade and absolutely delicious. It's a bit heartier, preferably fried and/or with a lot of sour cream. But it's worth trying everything. The delicious borscht was eaten so quickly that there is no photo. Otherwise we had: Salad Olivier, Chebureki and Varenyky. The latter in particular are a poem, but the enormous craftsmanship is evident in all the dishes. A special compliment to our waiter; He's probably only been there for a short time, but he's passionate about it. Great job, you felt welcome and well looked after at all times. Keep it up, we'll definitely be back.

The food is delicious, the portions are large. But the portion of the Napoleon dessert is catastrophically small for 13 euros! The waiter is probably new and inexperienced. She dropped the cutlery and shouted “damn” to the whole room. Thank you for not swearing. The cutlery was not taken back to the sink, but was wrapped in napkins for serving. The question remains: did the forks we ate with today fall on the floor? Upon entering, the waiter greeted us with a rather familiar “hello.” Although we came for the first time. I think we need to teach the waiter the phrase “good afternoon or good evening.” In general, the waiter's communication style is not entirely customer-oriented.

From Düsseldorf's vast culinary offerings, we chose the Jenka restaurant, and it was completely justified. My husband and I were there for the first time. The very attentive and friendly staff guarantees a good mood. We ordered shashlik, of course, served with potatoes, green beans, and pickled onions, along with eggplant rolls. For dessert, we had a cappuccino and the most delicious Napoleon we've ever tasted! At our table, we could watch the chef in the open kitchen conjuring up dishes for the guests, like a fire show.

We all visited your restaurant. We were looking for Ukrainian cuisine and found the Val restaurant on the Internet. I want to say that I ate such delicious pilmeni 15 years ago when my grandmother made them from them. The borscht, shuba and chicken shish kebab were simply incredibly delicious. Serving food is not something aesthetic at all. The taste of the dishes is just fire 🔥 The food is served very quickly. The service is amazing. Big respect to Chef Zhenya! We watched him cook. Our first, new restaurant with the Taste Twelve voucher book and an absolute hit! We know Russian and Ukrainian cuisine very well and were excited. All the dishes were very authentic and extremely tasty. Plus a Chardonney from Moldova and Ukrainian vodka. Plus an extremely motivated and friendly service. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back!

We celebrated our birthday at the Jenka restaurant. Incredibly tasty dishes, beautiful presentation and price = quality. The atmosphere is nice, there is enough space. This is definitely the best, most intimate and pleasant restaurant in Europe. Every dish is prepared with love, with a piece of soul! There is a choice of borscht with or without meat (we ate both and both were super), I forgot to warn that I didn’t want sour cream and they immediately offered to replace it with a new one! I usually don’t like cabbage and beets in borscht, and I only eat potatoes, but here I ate everything to the last spoon, because the cabbage is the most tender, melting in your mouth. Dumplings are probably the best in my life, soft, delicious potatoes, there are no mushrooms inside (I don’t like the consistency of mushrooms inside dumplings), but at the same time they are fried with mushrooms and this gives a flavor, I was delighted. Napoleon is fabulous, soft, tasty, just the right amount of sweet, perfect cream and dough. The cheesecakes are prepared in three ways at once, just perfect cheesecakes that I will try to replicate at home. The cook feels the cooking process, the sweetness, the consistency, and he guesses everything right to make a masterpiece. And how beautiful they were, it’s a pity that I didn’t take a photo. Incredibly delicious. And the perfect relaxing atmosphere for a comfortable evening, attention to detail, customer care at every turn. Candles, music, hand cream in the toilet (I’ve never seen this anywhere). And all this for minimal, simply symbolic prices!!! The service was simply amazing, it was like coming to dinner at a family home. Thank you so much for such a place! Glad we found you❤️❤️

I was particularly impressed by a small gesture: when I asked for a disposable straw, unfortunately there were no longer any available, but the team immediately offered to remake my cocktail and issue a new straw, still in the packaging. Found this place on Google Maps and wanted to try it out because of its good ratings. And it did not disappoint! The food was amazing. The service was friendly. And the place was very relaxed. Really enjoyable meal. We ordered 4 starters to share, a main dish each, 2 bottles of wine, a couple of beers and it was about 45 eur per person. So really good value for the price and quality. Happy to come back again!

I had dinner there with my wife. We were warmly welcomed and taken straight to our reserved spot. The service was very nice and courteous, so we quickly had drinks at the table. The order for the food was taken quickly and freshly prepared immediately. My wife ordered a borscht for herself and we ordered pelmeni and Jenka's shashlik for me, and my wife also ordered an Olivier salad. The food was fresh and very appetizingly prepared. We both really enjoyed it. I would like to recommend this restaurant because it is really worth it. Thanks to the team for the great service and the lovely evening with my wife.
