JEN Japanische Ramen Küche - JW Kollegen GmbH in Jena

I am Japanese who living in Germany. Most of Ramen Restaurants in Germany are serving not qualified Ramen and food to customers by using “Japanese brand” But this Restaurant is different. Tasty food, nice atmosphere, appropriate price setting(Most of Japanese restaurant for example in Düsseldorf are quite pricy) and friendly service. I highly recommend this place and would like to come back here with clients, colleagues, and family :) ご馳走様でした🙏

Good frame kitchen, the egg could be better. In my opinion, the restaurants in Leipzig are better, hence a star deduction. Basically I recommend the restaurant. 👍

The food was very tasty and the room with its open kitchen was pleasantly furnished. Unfortunately, a lot of other people know this too, so you end up sitting at a table with a lot of strangers, which makes me a bit fond of Mensa.

Food very tasty but the portions are mini!! I can't get enough from a normal portion of pasta, which is annoying considering the price.

You will find many ramen dishes here. For me personally, I've had slightly better ramen, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. Tastes are just different. Nevertheless, I would recommend everyone to make their own opinion. Overall it was good for me.

I had the matcha lemonade, vegetarian Nikuman and the vegan miso ramen. Everything was so incredibly delicious, absolutely recommended! It's just a shame that the restaurant is very small, you have to be a little lucky to get a seat.

As always, very tasty, but use your cell phone and then distribute the noodles into the bowls with your hands. Cell phone's biggest germ blaster. Don't think it was disinfected beforehand.

We always particularly enjoy eating here when we are in Jena. Now we have ordered the homemade sauce online. Unfortunately it was delivered with an expired best before date. Despite multiple emails, no response. Too bad.

I didn't like it at all. I had ramen with chicken. It wasn't hot, the noodles were relatively cold and raw, the chicken was very fatty, no vegetables at all except way too many sprouts and the broth tasted like instant, definitely not homemade chicken broth. It's a shame, that was the worst ramen I've ever eaten or returned.

Wer auf der Suche nach einen guten Ramen- oder asiatischen Restaurant ist, ist hier geschmacklich genau richtig. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist auch gut. Einzig das Ambiente lädt nicht wirklich zum verweilen ein und nachdem man gegessen hat will man auch direkt los.

Eating out with my girlfriend today was absolutely delicious and recommended You can absolutely forget about the classic bag frames. A real culinary delight here.

I've been curious about it for a while, but this time I was finally able to visit it. It was a cold night, so the warm ramen was very delicious. The staff provided very good service and I would definitely like to come again. Next time I would like to try the soy sauce ramen and fried chicken.

The food is just awesome. If you don't feel like flavor enhancers, you've come to the right place. Delicious, including vegan, noodle dishes and ramen soups are available here. The service people are all super nice. Unfortunately the dining room is very small and cramped. But you don't sit in a soup bar forever.

Everything was actually pretty good. Fast service, the atmosphere and the food too. However, I have visited quite a few ramen restaurants, so I have to say that my spicy miso ramen simply didn't have enough flavor with additional ingredients. I would point to the low fat content and the rather unspectacular noodles as sources of error.

It was my first time eating ramen in Germany~ It tasted pretty good! Be sure to order it with kimchi!! Highly recommend kimchi!!

We really enjoyed the JEN in Jena today. Unfortunately it wasn't enough for full points. Food: we had Nikuman (steamed noodles filled with pork) as a starter. Naruto Ramen+Chanshu and Inazuma Miso Ramen. Everything tasted wonderful. Gladly again. Service: very nice and attentive. Fast, but also leaves enough time to choose. Ambience: the JEN is not big and the guests wait at the door for the next available space, which speaks for the kitchen. But there's something else going on. We took a seat at the counter, where we like to be, so that we can also enjoy the hustle and bustle in the kitchen. You have to be very careful directly behind the counter and the beer dispensing system. Something tends to accumulate there that cannot be seen from the kitchen, but can be seen from the counter. We therefore ask you to pay attention so that you can enjoy the Japanese cuisine. Thank you, JEN! Please pay attention to the details and you'll do it!!! :-)

Nice food, delicious ramen, cozy but a bit small. The people was nice.

The Ramen bowl was nice. Also liked the gyōza with the vinegar oil dipping sauce/ broth. Prices are reasonable.

We just left because the staff just stared at us as if we’re aliens and it seems like they were annoyed that we were there. Customers that came after us were attended to and it seemed like they didn’t want us there; I had to grab the menu myself and when I did, I was given a weird look by one of the staff. After that, we just decided to leave. I can understand if it’s busy but the restaurant wasn’t even full. I don’t know if it’s because we’re a gay couple (and they’ve never seen one—which doesn’t make sense because we’ve eaten here before) but it’s such a shame because we were gonna celebrate our anniversary here.

To put it simply: Wow. The ramen is amazing, no matter the combination. An absolute recommendation to eat there once in Jena. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Simply fantastic, the food was excellent, the service was quick, friendly and confident. The open kitchen where freshly cooked food was cooked with love, peace and care was a highlight. It's a shame that I don't live in Jena. 360 km is just too far away to be able to eat there more often 😉

The miso ramen was very tasty and full of flavor! The broth tastes slightly fruity, which gives the dish that special taste! The dish is very filling and you get enough for the price!! The atmosphere in the restaurant was also cozy and K-Pop was playing in the background.

The vegan spicy ramen is super delicious! I've been there a few times and it always impresses me. The matcha lemonade and matcha ice cream are also great and very well priced. I can only recommend everything!

We stopped by spontaneously and had lunch. Great selection of food and drinks. My only suggestion: The menus could be graphically designed a little better, but this is purely a visual matter. The quality of the food is fantastic and tastes great. We ate both ramen and mix soba. The ambience is more reminiscent of a snack bar and is very relaxed. You can look into the open kitchen and watch the food being prepared. If you like, you can also sit comfortably outside on the edge of the market square. Absolute recommendation!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you would like to eat ramen, you should pay a visit to this restaurant. Order a portion of miso ramen and choose an egg as an additional topping. As a starter I can recommend a portion of edamame and for matcha lovers a delicious soy milk with matcha. Kimchi is also always recommended. Then just sit back and enjoy. The food tastes excellent. It's usually very crowded, but when the weather is warm you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. As you would expect from Asian culture, the staff are professional and friendly. Clear recommendation. 🍜

Simple, small restaurant. Very good food for a good price.

Ramen is looks good, but maybe this restaurant was too busy. The waiter walked around completely ignoring me and did not clear my table. After I waited a while and realized the fact that I was being ignored by the waiter.So I was just left. I think maybe there's also a reason that because I'm an Asian face, they might think we're going to be more "not to be taken seriously." All in all, as a regular guest who has been here several times, I am very disappointed with this racial discrimination experience.

Interesting location. Really good food with great prices. Concentrated on ramen. The place is very small but cozy. Unfortunately there is no real waitress service, you need to go and order by yourself then find a free place, they bring your food and then you have to go by your own to pay. But it’s nice. Not for hanging out, just to eat and go. The food is really good.

A must have for every Japanese lover. There is something for every taste. Unfortunately, the store is very small, so you always have to wait for a seat, but the store is in a very good location, in the middle of the market. Gladly again! :)

It wasn't bad, but it was also not good enough. Noodels were like typical spaguetis. Broth is tasty but it should always include the egg, not as an extra charge. A glass of tap water should be free, not more than 2€... absolutely too expensive for what it is. Tbh maybe I didn't enjoy it that much because I just came from traveling trhough Asia and I had really good ramen there, which is not possible to compare with what I got here... I think people who likes it is because they never had real ramen or real asian food outside of europe, but unfortunately it has been disappointing for me, I won't come back.

I ordered there twice and unfortunately it was terrible. BUT! It tastes really good on site. My tip, stay away from ordering and enjoy there.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Jena. I go there almost once a month and eat the miso ramen there, I love it! Really recommended! Unfortunately you often have to wait to get a place, but it's worth it.

Jen is a lovely shop. The food was good, but nothing special. If I'm there again and have a little time left, I would go again.

Fast, tasty, authentic, very attentive service with good timing and a pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view of the market square and pleasant music. Absolutely sufficient selection. It shouldn't be anything more than that. You really have the feeling that you are getting a high-quality meal here that is filled with skill and passion.

I have been here since long for a few years. However, overall quality differs too much depending on who work in bar and kitchen. Not only the foods, but also the service. Some are rly not kind to people.

Though not run by Japanese the food has great taste and a good variety on choices of Japanese dishes and drinks. The preparation of the order naturally lacks behind the speed of Japanese, but it's totally okay. If you don't have the time and money to go to Japan but looking for a good bowl of Ramen Soup this is the place to go to.

Sehr leckeres und authentisches Essen. Alles frisch zubereitet und man kann bei der Zubereitung zusehen. Bedienung auch nett und freundlich. Kleines, nettes Restaurant und man kann am Tresen sitzen, wie auch in den japanischen Ramenbars. Wenn wir mal wieder in Thüringen sind, werden wir bestimmt wieder vorbei kommen.

出張でJenaに来ており、美味しいラーメン屋があると聞いて初訪問。 木曜18:30来店、雨の為か空いており、私以外にお客様は1人でした。 味噌ラーメンがイチオシなのかな？でも初訪問の為、醤油ラーメンを注文しました。 飲み物は玄米茶を注文。急須と湯呑みで出され、味も完全に日本と同じ。本気度を感じました。そうこうしているうちに注文から4分で着丼。上にはもやし、ひき肉、コーン、メンマ、チャーシューなどが乗っています。 スープは濃いめの動物系、程よく油も浮いていて美味しいです。ひき肉で動物感もアップしています。ひき肉は若干中華風の味付けのような、、、？ほのかに八角の風味がした気がします。麺は細麺ストレートで、日本では珍しい組み合わせです。これはこれでとても美味しい。2週間ぶりの日本食に感激しました。食べ進めていると何やらペースト状のものが、、、おろしニンニクです。偶然にもやしと混ざり、強い動物系スープも相まってまるでG系のような風味に。まさかこんなところでこの味が食べられるとは、、、感激です。ひたすら食べ進め、スープまで飲み干しご馳走様でした。海外とは思えない再現度の高い一杯でした。18:50に退店する時にはお客様も15人前後に増えており、この時間帯から混みだすかもしれません。次は味噌ラーメンかな、、、？ニンニクマシ出来るのか次は聞いてみようと思います。ご馳走様でした！！

Amazing food, like the one in Erfurt, but the location is small and cramped and the tables outside felt more like an afterthought. (Beer garden atmosphere) Well worth a visit, especially when it's not busy, but if you have the choice go for the Jen Ramen in Erfurt.

Einfach die besten Ramen weit und breit und es gibt eine fantastische vegane Auswahl.

Sehr leckere Ramen in Vegan oder mit Fleisch. Der Laden ist nicht sehr groß, aber sehr beliebt, das äußert sich in einem sehr vollen und relativ lauten Lokal.

Hier gibt es mit Abstand die besten Ramen weit und breit! Es ist immer sehr voll, es empfiehlt sich zu reservieren.

Die besten Ramen in Jena. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal und schneller Service zudem hat man die Möglichkeit die Ramen durch eine eigene Toppingauswahl zu personalisieren.

Die Gerichte sind super lecker und die Portionen üppig. Für einen kleinen Aufpreis kann man auch extra Nudeln bestellen, falls der Hunger doch zu groß ist. Leider hat das Restaurant nur wenig Platz und ist zu den Stoßzeiten immer voll.

Das Essen ist wirklich super und authentisch. Die Rahmen sehen aus wie aus dem Urlaubskatalog und schmecken klasse. Man kann sich schöne Menus ordern und kann dazu echtes Japanisches Bier oder andere Softdrinks genießen. Preislich ist es nicht so günstig aber ee lohnt sich. Das Lokal selbst ist ziemlich klein und es kann durchaus passieren das man mit fremden am Tisch sitzt. Auch das ist ziemlich authentisch kann aber etwas ungewohnt sein.

Sehr authentische Ramen. Definitiv ein Highlight. Man schmeckt sofort, dass das Restaurant einen direkten Bezug nach Japan hat und nicht nur Asia influenced ist. Die Besitzerin kommt ursprünglich aus Japan und hat Tokyo nach Jena gebracht.

Immer gut besuchtes japanische Restaurant am Marktplatz! Gute Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Gerichten mit Schwerpunkt auf japanischen Ramen. Auch zu empfehlen sind die Gyoza 🥟 und Karage.

We haven't expected to enjoy this level of Ramen in Jena, where not so many Japanese are living. The taste is almost same to those in Tokyo. The hotter the soup is, the better it tastes. Repeatable.

Ich habe im JEN zum ersten Mal Ramen gegessen und war sehr überzeugt. Die Gerichte waren alle frisch und geschmacklich sehr gut. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass die Plätze im Laden sehr begrenzt sind und man fast nur draußen sitzen kann. Das könnte in der kalten Jahreszeit ein Nachteil sein. Für Ramen-Liebhaber insgesamt aber definitiv zu empfehlen!

The shoyu ramen was great. I easily finished every drop. The egg was especially good, but unfortunately it cost a bit (2€) extra. Edit: The miso ramen with ground meat is even better. I highly recommend the place.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal here. We had the vegan soba noodles and the chaseu ramen. We also had the gyoza and edamame beans too. All of the food we had was incredible, cooked fresh in front of us. I’m gutted we’re leaving tomorrow because it means we can’t go back for another meal there!

Essen war super lecker! Es kommt nicht ganz an Original-Japan-Ramen ran, dennoch authentisch. Die Nudel sind etwas zu dick für Ramen, aber schmecken trotzdem sehr gut. Die Spicy-Miso-Ramen hatten eine schöne Schärfe ohne zu übertreiben. Als Vorspeise gab es Karaage-Hühnchen! ABSOLUT TOP!! Der Service kam leider bei hoher Auslastung nicht ganz hinterher, aber darauf muss man sich zu den Stoßzeiten einstellen. Aufpasse! Wartezeiten auf einen Platz könnten auftreten.

This is a small, cozy place where you get to choose from a few simple, but very tasty dishes. Plus they have some tap and bottled Japanese beers which was really nice and cool to try. We felt welcome and enjoyed the dinner.

Ich gehe mindestens einmal im Monat mit meiner Freundin hierher. Wir lieben es! Alles schmeckt wunderbar und es hat eine tolle Ambiente.
