Rund um ein tolles Lokal! Gut dort gegessen zu haben! Gerne wieder.

Das Steak war außen schön knusprig angebraten und innen perfekt medium. Die Pommes waren goldgelb, knusprig und haben sehr gut dazu gepasst. Die Soße wurde auf meinen eigenen Wunsch extra serviert, was ich sehr gut fand. Obwohl wir unter der Woche dort waren, waren alle Tische belegt. Deshalb würde ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen, vorher zu reservieren. Sehr gutes Essen, gute Portion und insgesamt absolut empfehlenswert. Klare 5 Sterne.

zu unserem Wandertag waren wir hier zum Abschluss eingekehrt, das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Rumpsteak auf den Punkt Medium... sehr lecker

Ich komme immer wieder gerne hierher. Der Service ist mir gegenüber stets freundlich, aufmerksam und angenehm unkompliziert. Alles geht schnell, ohne Hektik, und man fühlt sich einfach gut aufgehoben. Das Essen kommt ganz ohne übertriebenen Schnickschnack aus, überzeugt aber durch gute Qualität, eine ansprechende Präsentation und wirklich großzügige Portionen. Das Beste Rumpsteak was ich seit langem gegessen habe! Insgesamt kann ich nur Positives berichten und freue mich jetzt schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch.

Ich habe das Jakobsklause während meines Aufenthalts in der Region besucht und die Erfahrung war insgesamt in Ordnung, allerdings mit einigen Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten. Das Ambiente ist angenehm und passt gut zum traditionellen Stil von Rüdesheim, wodurch sich das Restaurant gut für eine Pause nach einem Spaziergang durch die Stadt oder die Umgebung eignet. Die Speisen waren ordentlich angerichtet und die Portionen ausreichend, geschmacklich haben sie jedoch meine Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllt. Das Personal war freundlich, wirkte aber zeitweise etwas überfordert, wodurch es zu längeren Wartezeiten kam. Außerdem hätte ich mir etwas mehr Auswahl auf der Speisekarte oder klarere Empfehlungen gewünscht. Insgesamt ein solides Restaurant für einen Besuch in der Gegend, auch wenn mit kleinen Verbesserungen beim Service und bei der Küche deutlich mehr möglich wäre.

Zum Abendessen besser reservieren...Mann sitzt in gemütlicher Runde,essen sehr gut..Kommen gerne wieder.

Ein in die Jahre gekommenes Lokal , mit viel Herzlichkeit, eigenem Charme und einer sehr leckeren Küche. Wenn man in Rüdesheim ist, ist es ein Besuch wert.

Bratwurst mit Rotkraut und Pürre mein Mann hatte Rindergulasch mit Nudeln. Beide essen waren SUPER! Der Service sehr, sehr nett. Man hat gemerkt das die Servicekraft mit vollem Herzen dabei ist. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder dort hin gehen.

Wenn man gut und preiswert essen will

Ein echter Geheimtipp in Rüdesheim. Etwas versteckt gelegen am Marktplatz in Rüdesheim, kann ich dieses Lokal absolut empfehlen. Sehr schöne Karte die kaum Wünsche offen lässt. Das Preisgefüge ist in Anbetracht der Qualität und Menge mehr als gerechtfertigt. Dazu eine super nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, der man die Freude an ihrer Arbeit anmerkt. Allein das ist in der heutigen Zeit so selten, das es einem direkt angenehm auffällt. Ich hatte das Rindergulasch mit Nudeln, welches perfekt auf den Punkt gegart und wirklich lecker war. Meine Frau war von ihrer Bratwurst mit Rotkohl und Püree auch sehr begeistert. Das gemütliche Ambiente, gepaart mit dem sehr guten Essen ist also wirklich einen Besuch wert und somit hat sich die Jakobusklause ihre 5 Sterne ehrlich verdient.

Wollten am Sonntagabend zum Essen, dabei haben wir die falsche Tür erwischt, der Wirt beschimpfte uns auf das schlimmste, Passanten schütteten den Kopf und meinten sie hätten auch diese Tür genommen ! Haben dann ein sehr gutes Restaurant gefunden! Nie wieder Jakobusklause!!!

Schönes Lokal in Rüdesheim mit sehr gutem Essen und sehr netter Bedienung 👍

Wir waren am Donnerstag zum Teamtag dort. Das Essen war fantastisch und die Bedienungen so wie der Chef sehr nett herzlich und bemüht. Alles war frisch, die Markklöschen selbst gemacht und die Portionen sehr groß. Die Preise für das Essen meiner Meinung nach viel zu niedrig angesetzt. Aber ich beschwere mich nicht 😉. Aber so behält man seine Stammkunden und lockt Gäste an, die garantiert wiederkommen und es wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Ich (und alle meine Kolleginnen und Kollegen) sagen Daumen hoch !!!

It's a must in Rüd. The rump steak is a weapon, the Jakobusklausenschnitzel (or whatever it's called) is topped with cheese, the side salad is great, the fries are 🍟 better than Megges, the beer garden is awesome.

Nice and pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and very friendly staff, excellent meat, very well cooked. Definitely worth a try and a return visit.

We went there for dinner in the fall. The interior was packed, yet it wasn't unpleasantly loud, and the service was practically instant and very friendly. The core menu focuses on variations of schnitzel and rump steak. The daily specials offer attractive alternatives. We'd be happy to return.

Stumbled upon this place. Felt like a locals-only gem. Authentic ambience. Had the chicken in mushroom sauce, and the smoked salmon pancakes. Both were outstanding. As was their local Reisling. Our server, Claudia, was very gracious about our not speaking German. Just so fortunate we found this place four out one night in town.

Yesterday, we went on an outing with our class. Everyone (28) was thrilled at our graduation party at the Jakobusklause (St. James' Chapel). We had many requests, and everything was fulfilled with warmth. The food was delicious and will stay with us for a long time.

The selection of dishes on the menu was rather limited, which isn't a problem in principle. However, there were supposedly other dishes listed on the notices in the entrance area, but they weren't visible in the restaurant. The food was delivered very quickly, and the service was good.

Super delicious food and very friendly staff. We'd love to come back. Keep it up, highly recommended. Top!

Six of us spontaneously visited the Jakobusklause. A friendly waitress greeted us at the entrance to the beer garden and allowed us to sit outside. The food was good, and minor misunderstandings regarding the side dishes were resolved very confidently and easily by a young waiter – I highly commend that. Less pleasant, however, was the behavior of an older lady serving us. She greeted us with, "Shall we talk about this first?" as we were about to sit down, because she didn't realize her colleague had agreed. She also asked suspiciously later whether we had actually placed our orders, even though we hadn't ordered from her. This unfortunately somewhat dampened the atmosphere. Even when ordering more drinks, we didn't feel particularly appreciated, even though our glasses were visibly empty. In the end, the same older lady also handled the payment – ​​the card payment seemed rather unwelcome, which didn't make a particularly good impression. While I usually tip in cash, I decided not to do so after everything. Conclusion: The food is absolutely fine, and we felt well looked after by most of the waiters. However, the service could still be improved, hence the 3 stars. And no—we weren't a tipsy bachelor party or a "difficult group" that required special treatment.

I wanted to order bratwurst for my American friends. And what stuck with me most was that a younger woman was simply rude and rude to me for no reason. I simply can't understand that kind of behavior, and it immediately made me feel worse.

Great place with delicious, local food. Suitable for the whole family, delicious soups for first courses (not large portions), liked potato pancakes with salmon and horseradish, pork schnitzel and wine. You can also order local coffee - Rüdesheimer Kaffee.

The fried potatoes – perfect to perfection! The service is attentive, warm, and simply on point. A special shout-out to Antonella and Genta – they both make the visit a true experience. A restaurant in Rüdesheim that's truly worth a visit, off the beaten track. Authentic, hospitable, and with genuine quality! I agree, the author's uncle.

We had an absolutely unexpected but ridiculous experience. We received a warm welcome! We ordered a beer and, for our meal, were inspired by the wine selection and ordered a bottle of rosé. We both ordered a goulash soup and a main course. After the first mouthful of soup, we savored it, confident that this was going to be a fantastic evening food-wise, because the soup was amazing! Unfortunately, while we were eating the soup, our hostess apologetically brought the salads before the main course. And after the last mouthful of soup, she also apologetically wanted to put all our main courses on the table. I then told her that this was really too fast, and at this speed, we wouldn't even have time to finish our bottle of rosé. She gave us the option of sending the main course back to the kitchen, and we gratefully accepted. A moment later, the chef was standing in the doorway to the terrace, grumbling and gesticulating at our hostess in the direction of our table. I felt offended and felt like we were being criticized for our inappropriate behavior. I confronted our hostess about this, and she told me the chef was angry that we hadn't told her we wanted to eat slowly. I then walked to the kitchen to ask the chef what his problem was. I asked him why we weren't even given time to finish our last mouthful of soup, and his response was that I had no business being in his kitchen. His kitchen means climbing three steps from the restaurant and then one step into his kitchen. All of this happened less than 45 minutes ago, so please forgive my anger. Again, the quality of the food and the hostess are absolutely flawless, but unfortunately, they don't dictate the course of events, and therefore this bad review is entirely due to a grumpy chef who apparently has too much say in this otherwise beautiful restaurant. Everything here is just right, the food is top-notch and the service is absolutely fantastic 👍🏻 we always enjoy coming here.

So rude waitress that we left straight away. She thought we had chosen a table where it would be hot and then we asked where we should sit, then she just threw the menus down on the table, said we could sit wherever we wanted, it wasn't her decision, then she left 😳 Then we left.

Unfriendly shop with terrible service staff, this place doesn't deserve even one star

The boss was very rude. The staff let us sit at a reserved table and informed us of the time. The time was more than sufficient. Shortly afterwards, the owner came and rudely informed us that the table was reserved. Then, 20 minutes later, friends who were standing with us came and said, "Hands off the table!" You could say everything in a different tone. Say, "The boss is king here!" The best part is, we walked by about 30 minutes after the official time and the table was still empty. He should understand that.

Seven of us came into the restaurant. We saw a couple of colleagues sitting at the table and were asked to leave by the waiter. Absolutely outrageous.

After we met two friends, the owner came over and said, "Get away from this table!" We did that, seven people, and we'll never come back!

One of the only restaurants that isn't overrun by tourists. Lots of locals who know the place! The food is traditional, but that's what you come for when you travel! The Schnitzel was very good. Friendly waitresses, but not artificial, as is often the case with tourists.

Top, top, top! We spent a wonderful evening here. The food was excellent, the rump steak was crispy, tender and cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed the Riesling and Veronika's attentive and extremely friendly service made the evening perfect. We would come back to this cozy beer garden, a little away from the tourist hustle and bustle in Drosselgasse, at any time - 100% recommended.

Just crazy! Service was super friendly and on the ball. The service team makes it very easy to feel comfortable. The ambience: small but nice. You feel like you're at home. Now to the cook/boss: just a great guy, super friendly and down to earth, always with a saying. And about his cooking skills: 10,000,000 out of 5 stars! I have never eaten such amazing venison goulash as I did at Jakobsklause. Thanks for the lovely evening!

We came without a reservation with a small child and were given a table in front of the counter, but it was clear that our child was rather undesirable. Then we were asked if we needed a child's chair, to which we replied in the affirmative. Then we were told there was no room for the stroller and it would always be in the way anyway. We were then allowed to put him in the hallway in front of the toilet. The food was picked up and came quickly. When we wanted to pay the only answer was yes. And when we needed the bill and we wanted to pay by card, all we got was the statement that she had asked and we had said that we wanted to pay in cash. However, that wasn't possible because we didn't have any cash with us. We then asked if she could please cancel and change it. She then sent us to the nearest bank because canceling it would be too time-consuming and she would have asked beforehand. My husband then got up completely perplexed and ran to the bank, I had to wait there with my child. And instead of apologizing for what seemed to be a communication problem, there was just one. “Well then we can finally cash in.” Impossible service! Unfortunately, we have often heard about the "child-unfriendliness" in this restaurant, but thought it was exaggerated. But apparently everything about these statements is true. That was our last visit!

I was a bus driver with 40 guests for dinner on December 9, 24 at 6 p.m. Very great atmosphere outside and inside. Price-performance ratio is absolutely great for food and drinks. Today after the Christmas market my girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for the first time. We didn't have a reservation and still got a table. Which was positive. However, with the addition we need it again from 8 p.m. However, no one came for this table. We had Jägerschitzel and deer goulash. Both were mediocre. The service that was praised too well in the previous reviews was not available here. We felt a bit taken advantage of. The service ladies created a certain hustle and bustle in the restaurant, which wasn't at all was necessary. At the beginning we were asked whether we wanted to pay in cash or by card. I said, I don't know yet, it depends on how much the bill is. I don't know yet how much I'll drink and whether I might want dessert. All in all ok, but there are other restaurants in Rüdesheim where we feel more comfortable.

I just love this place ☺️ A home-style restaurant where the prices are really reasonable. The room is quaint, cozy and there is something to discover everywhere. The service is friendly and quick. And if you naively didn't reserve, you can still get two seats 💚. You just feel welcome. In summer, the beer garden in the courtyard is an absolute must. 🪴🍻

The pork schnitzel consisted almost entirely of tendons and was deglazed with far too much wine, which is why the food only gets 1 star. The service was nice and the ambience was very good.

As another customer has already written, I cannot understand this “top service”. When we arrived around 5 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty and we were only offered an uncomfortable table.
