A highly recommended place in summer 🌤 The beer garden is very large and divided into restaurant and self-service (recognizable by the different chairs and tables). The prices for the beer are very fair, especially 1 liter of draft beer for €7 is impressive. The many trees mean there are lots of shady places. The lanterns definitely make it look very nice in the evening.

Hello friends of this hospitable place, yesterday we had a family celebration with 30 people in this wonderful restaurant, which we discovered by chance based on the very good reviews. We came to test dinner with friends twice and both times the food, drinks and service were to our complete satisfaction. We particularly liked the very attentive, friendly and prompt service. We were also able to make little jokes, we laughed a lot and felt very comfortable. As expected, the catering for our 30 guests went smoothly. All of our guests were thrilled and gave only positive feedback. The mixture of tradition with a modern touch makes the restaurant something special. We definitely weren't here for the last time. Thanks for the successful evening, keep it up😉

We ended up in the restaurant/beer garden by chance and were totally thrilled. A menu with great dishes and very nice conditions. It's beautiful and cozy. The food was to die for and really filling. I have rarely experienced unfriendly service in Berlin. No “Hello” no friendly “Good day” just an absolutely unfriendly “we are completely booked” even though all the tables were free. Definitely avoid this place.

Really delicious food, which means that even for a single person you have to wait. While we in Poland cannot use deer for anything other than cold meats, here they manage to make an extremely delicious steak from it. The atmosphere and service are on par. When it comes to impressions, they are very positive, their "Hefenweizen" beer is extremely tasty. The price is not bad for Polish conditions (cheaper than in Magda Gessler's restaurants) and affordable for German earnings (around average).

Enjoy your meal. Unfortunately, waiting times are too long. Nice beer garden atmosphere.

Really nice beer garden. Delicious draft beer and fair prices for drinks. The main courses are also ok. But 8 euros for a slice of bread with feta and cress is hard. The staff was very friendly and the ambience outside was great.

What can you say, if the weather cooperates, it's a great location. Food & drinks were great, we had a great evening with good friends. We'll be back

We stumbled upon this place, and loved everything about it. The outside seating is shaded and cool, our server Jack was funny and entertaining, and the food was out of this world. My husbands’ “homesick” platter was big enough to share. And the roasted pork was probably the best food we’ve eaten all week. The duck fricassee was a little disappointing; it lacked the rich flavor of the other dishes. But overall, ten out of ten

Service overwhelmed, we had to wait a long time for everything. At some point we got the menus ourselves, you had to really work hard to get a condition. Reordered drinks also took a long time to arrive. In the end, some tables lined up to pay because no conditions could be found. Food is good, but there is very little vegetarian choice and what is available is relatively boring. Food rather expensive. It's nice to sit outside.

Tavsiye üzerine gittiğimiz bu bira bahçesi çok turistik olmayan bir bölgede ve daha çok yerli halkın tercih ettiği tarihi bir mekandı. Menüsündeki bütün biraları denedim: spaten, werner, franziskaner, haakebeck, jagerland Türkiye'de de farklı çeşitlerini bulabileceğimiz franziskaner, buğday birası olması nedeniyle en beğendiğim oldu. Ama buradaki pilsner cinsi biralar da keyifliydi. Mesela Trüber werner, fresh meyve aromaları veriyordu ve bitişi hafif bitterdi. Biralar bitince bir tane de wiesnspritz denedim. Birayla yapılan bu kokteyli de beğendim. Yemek olarak bir tane kalbsschnitzel söyledik. Anladığım kadarıyla süt danası ile yapılan bir şinitzel. Lezzetliydi ama Viyana kadar değil elbette. Servis aksamadı ve mekanın ortamı harikaydı. Dükkanın ortasındaki avluda oturanlar self servis yiyip içiyordu. Gözüm o bölümdeki tavuk çevirmede kaldı ama doyduk işte. Sonuç olarak çok beğendik. Herkese tavsiye ederim..

The woman at reception was very overwhelmed and very slow, even though it wasn't full yet. We sat in the outdoor area, which is unfortunately very old. You couldn't make a reservation inside, even though only 2 tables were occupied. Food was good and the portions were sufficient.

This beer garden, which we went to upon recommendation, was in a non-touristy area and was a historical place mostly preferred by locals. I tried all the beers on the menu: spaten, werner, franziskaner, haakebeck, jagerland Franziskaner, of which we can find different varieties in Turkey, was my favorite because it is a wheat beer. But the pilsner type beers here were also enjoyable. For example, Trüber werner gave fresh fruit aromas and had a slightly bitter finish. When the beers were finished, I tried a wiesnspritz. I also liked this cocktail made with beer. We ordered one kalbsschnitzel for dinner. As far as I understand, it is a schnitzel made with veal. It was delicious, but not as good as Vienna, of course. The service was flawless and the atmosphere of the place was great. People sitting in the courtyard in the middle of the store were eating and drinking self-service. I had my eye on the rotisserie chicken in that section, but we were satisfied. As a result, we liked it very much. I would recommend it to everyone..

Very cosy neighbourhood spot. We went up to the drinks hut in the beergarden and service was friendly and efficient. We didn't have food but from what we saw coming out, it looked delicious and plentiful.

When we came here the lady told us we couldn't eat. After she let 3 groups eat, it was pure racism since we weren't looking for German. She discriminated against us before we even spoke. Not recommended, go anywhere else. This place is a disgrace for Berlin

Hostess wouldn't let me sit outside saying that the restaurant was full. There was at least a half a dozen open tables, not to mention at least a dozen open spots at the shared beer benches. I asked about one of the tables and was told it was reserved for 7. No one was seated until 730 so the table was obviously not reserved. Besides this, service was slow, food was mediocre and overpriced.

Very kind and understanding and patient staff. I was upset that my food had taken so long to arrive and then I learned that they do things differently here in Germany than in the states. They wait until you finish your first course before even beginning to cook the second course. That explained why in my view the food took much too long to come out. It actually came out relatively quickly given the different practice here. I was upset but the staff was very patient with me and explained things and despite this all being my misunderstanding they took my meal off the check. I am so embarrassed now but I want to give them credit so I'm writing this embarrassing review.

No cannabis use allowed, but smoking and alcohol ok - conservative shop.

The service was superb, and the food was solid. The outdoor environment had a lot of smokers and bees (for some reason)! Overall, we had an enjoyable experience.

Waited forever for food, Very tasteless and expensive

The food was very tasty and the portion was OK, although the prices were quite high in my opinion. The service staff were friendly, but we sometimes had to wait a long time, even though the beer garden was just filling up.

Yum! We got the herb egg toast and the goulash and they were brilliant! The hostess was lovely too. A beautiful setting in the garden and it was such a delicious and refreshing meal!

Wir waren schon öfter hier und waren eigentlich immer zufrieden. Nun hatten wir entweder ausgesprochenes Pech, oder die lassen jetzt im Service und in der Küche deutlich nach, was ich mehr vermute. Bekannte warnten uns schon vor dem "leisen Abstieg" des Lokals. Es hatte 1 Stunde vorher stark geregnet. Wir wollten aber trotzdem draußen sitzen, da sich kein weiterer Regen ankündigte. Der zugewiesene Tisch war aber nicht trocken gewischt und die Stühle waren noch nass. Da behalfen wir uns in Ermangelung einer Servicekraft mit den Sitzkissen erst einmal selbst. Bei diesen "Lattentischen" muss man aber auch an die Unterseite des Tisches denken. Prompt waren unsere Hosen nass. Wir orderten dann eigentlich schon "satt" die Getränke und Speisen. Die Pfifferlingssuppe war gerade noch handwarm, musste aber deutlich nachgewürzt werden. Das Rührei auf dem Brot mit Pfifferlingen und Hirschschinken war kalt, also schon länger aus der Pfanne. Die geschmorte Rinderrippe war etwas fest und gleichfalls schon etwas abgekühlt. Insgesamt waren die Küchenideen immer noch gut im Ansatz, aber da wird mit den guten Waren und Ideen sehr schludrig in der Zubereitung umgegangen. Fazit: Schlechter Service, mäßiges Essen, dass ja bestenfalls nur noch Durchschnitt ist. Schade, der gute Service und die hervorragende Zubereitung zeichneten das "Jäger und Lustig" mal aus. Aber so ist das halt, wenn Masse die Qualität besiegt. Also, eigentlich ist das nun mehr nur noch ein Touri-Restaurant zum Biertrinken im Biergarten.

Very friendly staff, tasty food - large portions

The Jäger &Lustig is not far from Warschauer Straße. A really rustic restaurant that impresses with its lovingly furnished interior in the style of a forest hut. Especially in the summer months, the outdoor area invites you to linger longer. There you sit in a cozy atmosphere under shady trees. The whole thing has a certain beer garden flair, but in a slightly more upscale atmosphere. The dishes on the menu clearly reflect the overall concept of Jäger&Lustig. This impresses with a variety of hearty game dishes in interesting combinations. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired. The pear shandy is particularly recommended in the hot summer months. Overall, the price of the location is well above the usual average for a beer garden. Nevertheless, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Without exception, all dishes tasted very good and the service was convincing with its friendly, courteous and non-intrusive manner.

Positive things first: the service was very good! Friendly and attentive. Without asking, there was something on the table for our child to paint. The ox leg is really huge and was very tender. The price-performance ratio was right. A lot of meat can also cost a lot. However, the wild duck dish was a bit small. The duck was very dry! Schupfnudeln and red cabbage nothing special. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from my canteen - bland and as if they were made half and half of real potatoes (lots of pieces) and instant powder. The sauce also tasted like a bag or strongly like a binding agent. The beans were cooked to death. The side dishes of the ox leg also left a lot to be desired. Given the prices, you can expect better quality!

The best meal we had in Berlin! We were exploring Friederichsain to see where my grandmother’s family lived before WWII and came across this restaurant by accident. We ate there because they had outdoor seating. We had no idea the food was so delicious. We ordered Chantarelle Soup, which was enough for a meal, plus a delicious sandwich and natural drinks of some kind. Light, fresh, and superb. The waiter was also very friendly. A nice surprise for American tourists expecting heavy meals…

tourist-shed where no Berliner goes to. something like a "no joints" (no cannabis) policy would have never existed in the original "Jägerklause" place. But ya, yuppies doin yuppie things and Berlin dies, every day a bit more.. so sad that the originals get kicked out everywhere and then places like this overtake and even try to imitate the original.

Die Portionen waren gewaltig, da kann jeder satt werden! Die Preise sind sehr angenehm! Man fühlt sich sehr wohl!

Very nice atmosphere, delicious drinks and super attentive, friendly service. The food is surprising, very good. You can also order a table for large groups. Excellent cuisine, very friendly and professional staff, great atmosphere

We ate three different main courses. Everything was very good quality and worth the price. The portions are quite large and at the end you can also have a box to take something with you for a fee of €1. The quality of the meat was definitely good, the only drawback was the dumplings, which were unfortunately a bit dry.

Unfortunately, dinner here was quite disappointing. We tried a large variety of dishes: The pork and sausage dish that is a favourite of the chef was a highlight ( the pork steak was excellent, the sausage that came with it, bland). The goulash dish was quite good as was the dish of pork strips on a skewer. The pork pie starter was inedible and the duck open sandwich starter, bland. The beer was great.

A beautiful terrace is the entrance door to this German restaurant. It is two blocks from Warschauer Strasse, just enough so that it is not overrun with tourists and there are also local people who enjoy a great beer in this corner of peace. The portions are really huge. I ordered a Berlin-style liver and there were four well-made pieces on a large mountain of mashed potatoes. I'm saving it in favorites, very very enjoyable.

We were a large group and wanted to arrive a little later than usual when booking. After a phone call everything was clarified and the team was extremely prepared for us. Everything very well cooked with local ingredients. The staff was very nice in the evening. In the end, I'm glad we went here and it's already one of the best addresses in Berlin for German cuisine.

Hier kann man bei schönem Wetter wunderbar im schattigen Garten sitzen. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich. Das Essen schmeckt uns prima und ist sein Geld wert. Ich empfehle den gefüllten Kolrabi auch für Nichtveganer wie mich.

Der Aussenbereich ist sehr ansprechend und die Bedienung zuvorkommend freundlich.

We sat done after a rude gentleman sitted us. I didn't think much of it, it's normal for Germans to not smile when welcoming guests i guess. After a while my wife asked if we could have the chicken that was advertised on the wall but not on menu. The waiter told us we have to move to the other side of the restaurant and sit somewhere else and order ourselves, we didn't think much of it and passed as we had already settled. After a while and since we ordered we saw many people not moving and getting chicken at their tables on the same side we were sitting. Directly next to us. Meanwhile, our food arrived. On one dish we had veal and was super hard, even with knife impossible to cut and on the other fish with some boiled potatoes, the potatoes were again so hard that needed a strong knife to cut. And each dish was about 25 euros. This was not pleasant at all. At the end i asked the waiter why others get chicken and we had to move and he denied he said that, which is a lie as 3 people agreed to have heard it. Really bad experience.

For a recommendation to go for lunch when you are in Berlin

Mit dem Namen Lustig hat dieses Restaurant nichts zu tun. Essen überteuert und nichts besonderes. Kartoffeln und Gurken hart. Hatte mit gewöhlichen Schorgurken nichts gemeinsam. Sehr dunkel im Innenraum, keine Deko, die Holzdecke war zerkratzt und sichtbare Kabel. Sehr netter Kellner.

Chilling, not cheap, with upscale cuisine, oh how nice...

First of all: The food (starter and main course) is very good in itself, but when we visited, 2 of 3 were unfortunately lukewarm (including venison rump steak. That should be an exception. The service was a bit negligent and a bit strained, but that's always the case here Lots going on and it's also tiring The size of the restaurant inside and outside contributes to it. Overall, everything is very stylish and hip, not exactly cheap but appropriate and tasty.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic beer garden recently and I highly recommend it! The service was simply outstanding - the waitress was both humorous and extremely attentive. It is rare to receive such warm and professional service at the same time. The dishes were a real treat! Every dish was freshly prepared and tasted excellent. I would particularly like to highlight the Königsberger Klopse and the Wiener Schnitzel – both absolute delights. The location is also a dream. The beer garden offers a relaxed and idyllic atmosphere. Perfect to escape from everyday life and spend a few nice hours. All in all: top service, delicious food and a beautiful environment. What more do you want? I will definitely come back!

This was a very filling meal. I had the cabbage soup (Kohlrabistppchen) as a starter, very satisfying, warm to the bottom of the deep dish. The meatballs (Kondgsberger Klapse) were very generously portioned and I couldn’t finish them all, but were excellent, the dryish meat complemented by a rich white sauce. The only quibble is that as it is obviously a very popular and busy restaurant it was sometimes difficult to attract the attention of the waiting staff, but overall an excellent dining experience.

The food is absolutely mediocre - unfortunately children are not really welcome when it is full. There are better things around the corner.

It was a very nice visit, the food was delicious and everyone in our family was full. The employees were very nice and were always close to us without being intrusive. Our food came very quickly and was very tasty. We had the simple bread plate, bread with minced meat, fresh asparagus with potatoes, mustard, half a chicken and three times the “homesick plate” and of course drinks. The only drawback on my part is that there isn't really anything for small children, maybe fries or sweet potato fries will find their way onto the menu at some point ;-). I think the little ones would be very happy about this.

Im Rahmen des Schlemmerblocks hatten wir bereits Fischer & Lustig besucht und haben uns daher auf das Schwesterrestaurant Jäger & Lustig sehr gefreut und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Auch hier fanden wir freundlichen und schnellen Service nachdem wir unseren ungewöhnlichen Wunsch nach einem Innenplatz kund getan hatten (Lokal ist bei Touristen sehr beliebt und ähnelt ein wenig einem klassischen Biergarten). Wir wurden bei den Speisen nicht enttäuscht: Schnitzel goldbraun, Spargel bissfest und Hollandaise schmackhaft (OK aus dem Eimer wie überall) - mit 28€ fair bepreist. Den Vogel haben allerdings "Kalbsbauch & Kalbsbries" abgeschossen - für 27€ eine riesige Posrtion und geschmacklich absolut überzeugend. Wir empfehlen nachdrücklich!
