You can eat deliciously in the Kurfüstendamm area, but not here. Alas... The price clearly does not match the quality and, of course, first of all, it is not tasty. Do not order poultry! All meat is very!!!!! fatty. Why do this, test the gastrointestinal tract?

So good. I wasn't very familiar with typical German cuisine, but when it's well prepared like here, it's really worth it. And the servers are efficient and friendly. It seems like there are quite a few regulars...

I was slightly disappointed with the value for money of the food. The food seemed heavily pre-portioned and pre-cooked. It was okay, but for the price, the location, and what it represents, I would have expected more. However, it was delicious, and I was satisfied. The selection of drinks offered is extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. The service was friendly and casual, with typical Berlin style. The only downside was that the tables, which still had used dishes, were left uncleared for an unreasonable length of time after the guests had left. Perhaps there was simply a lack of staff at the time of my visit. The ambiance is good. A typical German inn with appropriate decor and a few small seating areas outside. Generally very clean and well-maintained.

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. The food was bland. The service was slow and not very welcoming. We waited a long time to get our order, and no one checked in on us once the food arrived. Also the lady that served us did not care about my dietary restrictions.

This place is totally worth it- amazing food, great beer, they made smaller portions since i could not eat both soup and main dish, service is absolutely 5 star. The place is very calm.

Beautiful German atmosphere with excellent and kind service. The food was great, the portions were big, totally worth it for the price which is just slightly a bit on the higher end. They often give things "on the house" and agreed on making smaller portions on demand or pack the remaining food for a takeaway. Beer was excellent too. Highly recommend having a lunch there, as it may be full in the evening.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the inn. The roast pork was only served with a small dumpling. The meat also seemed to be of poor quality. The gravy was also very thin (ready-made sauce?). And that for over 20 euros. I've eaten much better in Berlin for half the price.

Very very disappointed with this restaurant and the quality of the dishes. This restaurant supposedly serves German cuisine but there is nothing traditional and even less homemade. We are more about canteen cuisine. Apart from tourist guides with their group, and tourist traps, there is no point in eating in this place! Go on your way and above all, don’t stop!

Excellent place, excellent food

We waited almost for 1,5 Hour for the meal. Asparagus was very watery and very very soft. As they would have in water for several hours. Wienerschnitzel nothing special. As excuse for 1,5 waiting small glass of wine and small glass of beer and espresso. Points for noticing and trying to correct. But the food was still an disappointment.

We took advantage of our visit to Berlin to visit our favorite restaurant again. We are just as excited as we were 3 years ago. Super nice service, really tasty food and a really nice decor. We would be happy to come back on our next visit.

Food delicious. Unfortunately, prices per dish are 4 euros more expensive than on the online menu... that's absolutely not possible. And you wouldn't be asked for another drink... What a shame,

Old Berlin inn that is primarily aimed at tourists. Classic Berlin menu with pork knuckle, currywurst and meatballs. Rustic atmosphere. The food is solid, the service tries to be friendly.

The authentic decorations really set a wonderful atmosphere at this restaurant. Their gulassup was absolutely delicious - so good that I couldn't help coming back the very next day for another serving! Definitely a place worth visiting if you're looking for both charm and great food.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Our first evening in Berlin we wanted to eat in a (real) German restaurant. The food was otherwise okay, but otherwise there was little experience in the food and service. The food and drinks are quite pricey for what you get.

Good dishes and friendly service. Relaxed environment. Nothing overwhelming but if you are in the area and want typical German cuisine it is a good address.

The price-to-portion ratio wasn’t the best—too pricey for what we got. I brought my friend, who was visiting, to try German food after our first choice was fully booked and required a reservation. The food was okay; my friend had the bratwurst, and I had the Königsberger Klopse. The portions could have been better, and while the taste was decent, it wasn’t particularly memorable.

This was an excellent meal. Great atmosphere and really good German food. I had the pork medallions with mushroom sauce and spatzle. Would definitely return.

My husband and I had dinner there today. During our Berlin weekend we wanted to have a nice meal in an old German Berlin restaurant and were happy that we got a table for two. We waited half an hour for food. When the people at the next table were already getting their food, my husband and I asked when we could expect our food. The waitress spoke in a nasty tone and said it would take a while. The waitress was also not impressed by the fact that the next table had already received food. She then said we could talk to her colleague if we didn't like something. 🤔 A few minutes later our food arrived with the note that everything was made fresh and that meatballs and Königsberger meatballs took a while. The people at the next table also had meatballs on their Berlin plate? Weren’t they fresh then??? No excuse for the behavior. The meatballs and the Königsberger meatballs were very salty instead of spicy. Not enough sauce for the number of potatoes and the boiled potatoes had not seen any salt and were almost cold. Probably because they had to wait for the meatballs.🤣 I didn't tip a cent. The waitress was not a professional. If I'm honest, self-absorbed and fake. Therefore not recommended. Remains a one-time visit!👎

It was the first time I went to the Krombach inn with my wife. Friendly welcome, the table was shown. I had the sausage plate. Yummy. The other dishes will be served on later visits. Very central location, also highly recommended for visitors to Berlin.

I had dinner in this restaurant with my friends last night. I got the bill and later I noticed, as you can see in the picture, that I also paid a tip on top of my bill!! I called totally astonished and the answer I got was “Um, yes which waiter & yes, that’s how it is with us”!!! The tax office will be happy and here too I got the answer: “Go ahead!” With no fiber in my being will I ever set foot in this store again! The tax office will be happy!

The service is quick, friendly and very efficient. The food however is lacking. I ordered a kalf goulash with potatoes and sauerkraut. The meat was very dry and the potatoes overcooked. Only the sauerkraut was decent. I thought it might be a one off, but heard from colleagues that they had simular experiences at this dinner as well as in the past. This was my first and last time. There are many options in Berlin for typical German food and ambiance. So if I'm in the mood fo such, I'll look for another place to eat. The ambiance is German as you can expect from a "Gasthaus", so no surprises there.

If you want a curry wurst that isn’t just ketchup with a sprinkle of curry powder I would recommend. Classic curry wurst, well seasoned fries, good sauerkraut, average mixed salad and large portions.

I invited my team to dinner at this restaurant in November 2024. It was agreed in advance with the owner, Mr. Gustavsson, that he would send us an entertainment receipt for billing purposes. Unfortunately, after asking several times, I have not yet received a receipt. This meant that I was unable to submit this amount to my employer. All colleagues will now not receive any money back. There is no excuse for this unprofessional behavior by Mr. Gustavsson. Ms. Dams

Traditional German food in a lovely atmosphere, really enjoyed the bratwurst and sauerkraut- excellent. Strudel very nice too. Great value price and a felt like a taste of real Germany :)

Fantastic German pub near the fine

I don't often leave reviews because it's annoying, but I really wanted to leave one this time. The female waiter is slow and rude haha. They force me to tip. They force me very, very strongly. They said something about China Japan and then they said, “Hey, it’s okay.” This is the first time I’ve been forced to tip in Germany for over a week. When I asked for a receipt, he clicked his tongue and gave it to me!! Ah~~ I don't know if it's racism or just not being cheap~~ Anyway, it's a restaurant that's delicious but I wouldn't go there a second time ^__^ I don't want to give a star rating because the service sucks.

It was a meal for my wife and I, and we were full from the large salad, currywurst with plenty of fries, and beer. The authentic currywurst didn't have much of a curry flavor, but it was delicious.

Very tasty and atmospheric... very tasty mulled wine - just what you need after a long walk in winter. The food is wonderful. The attitude towards children is amazing. We visited early in the evening on a weekday - you could do without a reservation, but for convenience you can book a table and time (there is an English version of the site). We recommend.

There were 7 of us at the Gasthaus Krombach on Sunday evening and we were very satisfied. The service was very nice and authentic. The food was varied and tasty, especially the Königsberger Klopse. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy

Highly recommend! *UPDATE " We returned after a break of a few months and we're very disappointed. The restaurant can be made unpleasant by the attitude of a couple of the staff who are best described as "unhelpful clowns". What a shame. The food is great if you get what you ordered. The staff need to realise that customers pay their wages. However we have now altered the ratings accordingly. Wonderful authentic German food. Great atmosphere friendly and helpful staff. Frequented by colourful and interesting people. Reasonable prices with a great menu to choose from. Probably should book at weekends. Can get very busy. Highly recommended.

Good restaurant with typical German food, which although it may seem strange, is difficult to find in the center of Berlin. The food was pretty decent. We ordered knuckles, bratswurt, currywurst.... Everything came with its chukrut and its corresponding accompaniments. There were only two things to improve: the prices are not those that appear on their website (but much higher), and it took us about an hour to start eating (there was only one person serving). Yes, super friendly.

Terrible customer experience This was our second visit to this busy Gasthof. There will not be a third. Despite booking our table 2 days earlier, we ended up in what was effectively the corridor leading to the toilets and a constant stream of staff brushing past to serve tables. Perhaps a foretaste of what was to follow. We ordered our food - mine was an absolute German staple (Schnitzel und Pommes). What came was like a piece of leather. It was massively overcooked. After trying to eat the food, because I was hungry and recognising it was not the waiters fault, I politely asked to speak to the manager. I was told there was no manager present. I then asked to speak to the shift supervisor; again no-one was available. After some discussion between the staff, the waiter told me I would not “get anything” (I assume he meant a discount) because I had eaten half the meal. I hadn’t actually asked for anything - except to speak to someone in charge. Let me be quite clear. I would have been content with an acknowledgment from someone other than the waiter, that things had gone wrong. I received nothing and no one appeared to care. So I paid the bill and left. I have read the reviews online; our first visit agrees with the majority posted. The second visit however, was a world away. My message is clear to all future customers. Keep your expectations low.

A very disappointing experience. The restaurant's emptiness should have been a red flag. The food was clearly pre-made and reheated, with the vegetables probably chopped yesterday—or earlier in the morning—and left to dry out by the time they reached the table. The waitstaff seemed completely lost and disoriented, and the prices were higher than at far better places. Definitely not recommended.

Kudammi's side street Mainekestrasse. The old center of West Berlin, which has become very quiet in the last decade. The restaurant's popular dish is, for example, the German Eis-Bein. You can't get that in terribly many places these days, I only know a few in West Berlin. It must be in the east. Decent beer selection too. I go there often when I'm in Berlin.

I love this place. When I'm in Berlin I'm drawn there. Not cheap but top quality. And somehow typical Berlin. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

The two of us stopped there for lunch today, the service was very friendly and offered me a comfortable seat (I'm pregnant), the cards were brought quickly and drinks and food were taken. It wasn't a problem that we shared a portion. The currywurst was pretty tasty, service was friendly. We'd love to come back, keep it up.

I’m from USA, but my grandparents were German and the food here reminds me of my grandparents’ home cooking! Fantastic food and beer.

Unfortunately it has diminished significantly since my last visit 5 years ago. Long waiting time for service. Food ok.

I will not recommend this restaurant. We waited a long time and the order didn't come completely. We complained to the waitress and she told us that it was our fault because we didn't say our order twice. She had no problem showing this behavior even though there were other customers there who saw it. Very arrogant! Now I understand why the restaurant is almost empty.

Awful. Literally served molded bread . . . twice!! Salmon dry and tasted like it spent 2 years in a salt mine. Took 2 hours to get the appetizers. Then after 2 hours forgot one of the mains. This couldn’t have been a worst experience. Don’t waste your time or money.

This german restaurant was a highlight of our stay in Berlin. They offer a great selection of authentic german food and everyone in the place was very friendly, both the employees and the customers. Reservations are a good idea because the place is packed!

It was very strange the post of 1 star is rejected by the restaurant. Maybe this is the way to keep their 4,3 star with bad food and service It was a nice restaurant but not anymore. I have ordered steak medium rare and it turns out to be well done and even over cooked. The hash brown becomes a baked potato without any seasoning and with a lot of salad dressing. The description said it comes with salad but I am not sure that little portion with a large piece of butter can be called salad. Paying almost 30 euros I am sure there are a lot better options than that. Cannot imagine not feeling full after visiting a German restaurant.

The location isn’t bad really at all! It’s off the busy part of the street which makes it better than the other. It wasn’t crowded so it was easy to find a spot. The food was just fine. However nothing to really go on about. If you want to get off the Main Street then this is the place. But don’t stop for just the food. You can find other places that are better.
