The location isn’t bad really at all! It’s off the busy part of the street which makes it better than the other. It wasn’t crowded so it was easy to find a spot. The food was just fine. However nothing to really go on about. If you want to get off the Main Street then this is the place. But don’t stop for just the food. You can find other places that are better.

Today (26 august 2024) we ordered Schnitzel for two. And we were served an extremely dry and un eatable Schnitzel prepared in a microwave. One of the schnitzels was replaced by another almost just as bad and dry as the first one. All three was half the size of a Schnitzel normally served in this city. As we were paying the bill the table beside us had the same dish, but now the size was twice as big, but still dry as they said. Do not go to this restaurant if you want decent German food.

Traditional German food in a calm location with nice staff. Good choices and decent beers. The food very good. Large dessert. I will go back the next time I'm in Berlin.

One should not listen to or be influenced by negative opinions; they're just bitter pro-Ukrainians who didn't like the restaurant's amusing advertising portraying Zelensky as a piggy bank (extorting money from German taxpayers who didn't ask for anything). 😁

Das Krombacher Brauhaus hat mich echt überrascht. Die Bedienung war super nett, aufmerksam und hat alles schnell gebracht. Das Berliner Eisbein war richtig lecker, da gibt’s nichts zu meckern. Einziger Minuspunkt: Draußen ist die Bestuhlung ziemlich sporadisch, und die Tische sind echt klein. Sonst aber top!

The Krombacher Brauhaus really surprised me. The service was super nice, attentive and brought everything quickly. The Berliner Eisbein was really tasty, there’s nothing to complain about. The only negative point: the seating outside is pretty sporadic and the tables are really small. Otherwise great!

We sat here (three of us) to have a drink. Delicious Weihenstephaner beer, white wine and apple juice. We wanted a small snack (4:00 PM) so we shared a plate of fries with currywurst. Delicious, can't say anything else. We shared an apple strudel and it was delicious too. The female (redhead for recognition) waitress was also very nice and very cheerful. I have no idea what dinner is like, but I just think you can enjoy a delicious meal here (German cuisine). Would definitely come back here if only for the friendliness.

Unfortunately I have to give this place a low rating because the food was really bad. I’ve never seen such a smallllll portion of schweinemedaillons. The meat was also overcooked and burnt. It was 30 eur for this, price value ratio ain’t good. Service staff and ambiance was nice though

Atmosphere | 3 Was welcomed by a gentleman who was very kind to set a place for our party; his welcome was friendly and appreciated. The atmosphere was good; the only drawback being that the prevailing wind blows smoke from patrons with cigarettes into the indoor seating area. It is a cozy location. Food | 4 The desert was very good and the items selected were tasty; not too salty and the meat was tender. The food seemed consistent with other reviews. Service | 2 The primary disappointment was in the receipt of the check after payment had processed and noting that the tip had automatically been included and an additional charge indicated on the meal. I am not certain I would have received a receipt, had I not asked. It would have been better to have received the invoice from the waitstaff such that the customer could review, ask any questions, and then make payment. Given the reviews previously, I was disappointed with this aspect of the service.

Horrible ! We had food poisoning! The pork smelled musty, it was inedible and then sick for several days... In addition, there is a tourist trap where the waitress herself chooses the tip that she includes in the bill. You come out sick and ripped off.

I was with my wife 2 days ago. We wanted to try German food and we were not disappointed. Excellent quality and adequate price. Michael was super friendly and attentive in dealing with us. There are undoubtedly people who know how to run a restaurant business... thank you. 100% advisable

Although it's located in the touristy area near Ku'damm, this place oozes authentic German vibes. The service is extremely friendly (they speak English) and took care of me while I waited for my date to arrive. We got a Pfefferlinge soup to start (tasty!) and my date also got a Goulash soup as her main, which she reported was also delicious. I ordered the Schnitzel as my entree of course, and when they brought it out, the waitress noted how small it was and brought me a whole other cut for free! How nice is that?! The Schnitzel itself was good and comes with Preiselbeeren and a vinegar-based potato salad, which I liked a lot. We were tempted to get dessert, but sadly the only traditional option they have is the Apfelstrudel, which I'm not super fond of. But overall, I really liked this one! With the super friendly service in a convenient area and a solid menu, I can definitely see myself coming back for more. Maybe I'll see you there! Prost!

Worst food in this area. Horrible meat and presentation. Worst potatos ever… only ice stuff.

I dined at this place with my husband and two nieces two nights ago, having come specifically to have Spätzle. We had walked past this restaurant several times. On this very warm summer evening, at least half the tables were empty in the front dining areas that have large windows and overlook the street. At least two of those tables would have fit a group four, but had the “Reserviert” signs on them. Another two tables could have been pushed together to accommodate 4 guests. But we were led straight to a far table at the back dining room, where there were no other guests. Was that because we were with a child and a teenager? In a little while, a group of three, from what it seemed, tourists were seated at the table next to us. They seemed taken aback by their table as well; even slightly more tucked away than we were. For my young nieces’ sake, I decided we will stay. We dined quickly and left. I even still left a tip. As we left, the tables with the “Reserviert” signs were still vacant. Even though we received a quick service and the food was okay, I did not have the experience I had expected. Despite the old-time ambiance, the atmosphere regarding the guests was … selective.

The food is great and the staff are very friendly even with a very busy full house. It's clearly a popular place locally as I went in for an early dinner and I think the family behind me got the last table that wasn't pre-booked.

Had an awful experience here. Totally not recommending! We were a group of 20+ people, our waiter was absolutely unfriendly and not helpful. We all speak German, but that didn’t hinder him from discussing us simply while standing next to us. Some people came from other cities and countries and simply wanted to try traditional wieniese kitchen. Well, they got an unforgettable experience: waiters in traditional places are “supposed” to be unfriendly? Not an ok reason as for me. Our guests were shocked in a negative way( they were like : is it everywhere like that? Why is that man so unfriendly? A Lady at bar was absolut sweet and nice. But this place in general? Disaster…

Traditional German food at its finest. The wait staff was so helpful with recommendations for both beer and food. Their suggestions were perfect! We were full but made room for apple strudel with ice cream and whipped cream... I would highly suggest you do the same. Look it up on Google maps as it is slightly off the beaten path in Berlin.

The Eisbein was a little salty but delicious. The atmosphere is also great. However, when I asked for a receipt before paying, they said they would give it to me after payment, but when I checked, I found that a 10% tip had been charged. If you had asked, I would have gladly given it to you... I said it lightly and moved on since it was money I was going to give anyway, but I felt like I wasn't able to finish off the delicious food well.

I was here and want to say that the food is tasty. I wanted to try traditional German food. The staff is friendly, smiles all the time and open for conversation. The waitress from Poland spoke my language that was nice to hear and perfect experience in Berlin.

What a disappointment We have waited more than 1 hour and 45 minutes for our meal. And the excuse was:Sorry we have a group inhouse . Unbelievable . The food we have waited for such a long time was below average i must say! Do not recommend at all ! The staff did their best but with so little staff it is not possible to manage this crowd of overbooking !

Kind of cosy and traditional German place. At our visit the staff was nice but not attentive to our group of 8 guests. The food was below average with too thin, hence dry cooked, and not crispy schnitzel, the grilled pork, sausage and meatball and potatoes were dry and probably warmed up from earlier. We had higher expectations even though the reviews were divided. Hope you will put an extra effort into it in the future.

A traditional German restaurant, full of wonderful paintings on its walls and of course, tasty food. The schnitzel was really good and the Riesling tasted great. The atmosphere in the interior is something else, really beautiful. The service was a little bit slow, evidently due to the sheer amount of people dining at the restaurant. We were the only tourists dining among them, which means that Krombach is truly a German restaurant, frequented by the Berliners themselves.

Nella nostra vacanza a Berlino abbiamo scelto questo ristorante per la vicinanza al nostro albergo, in Ku Damm, e per il menù consultato online. Affollato di sera, si presenta con un ambiente caratteristico e curato, con boiserie in legno scuro, mobilio di inizio ‘900, foto storiche alle pareti. Il menù ci ha offerto un’ampia gamma di piatti della tradizione gastronomica tedesca e berlinese, caratterizzati da una dignitosa preparazione e serviti con rapidità e in buone porzioni. Abbiamo gustato due Wiener Schnitzel di vitello con mirtilli rossi e insalata di patate (Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb) e due Piatti di salsicce berlinesi con crauti e purè di patate (Berliner Würstchenteller), entrambi realizzati discretamente; nella media lo Stinco di maiale berlinese con purea di piselli, crauti, patate lesse e rafano (Schweinefilet Medaillons). Particolarmente buono e gustoso il Fegato di vitello berlinese con mele fritte, cipolle e purè di patate (Berliner Kalbsleber). Abbiamo accompagnato i piatti con due birre tradizionali tedesche, la Krombacher alla spina e un’ottima Kostritzer nera. La cena si è conclusa con un dignitoso Strudel di mele su salsa alla vaniglia (Apfelstrudel auf Vanillesauce), rum, amaro, caffè espresso. Il servizio si è rivelato la nota maggiormente positiva grazie a un cameriere molto gentile e attento che ci ha guidato nella scoperta delle diverse pietanze del menu, e nel servirle con rapidità ed efficienza. Il rapporto qualità prezzo nella media del quartiere, così come l’eccessivo costo dell’acqua minerale.

Hey.i wanted to share my experience with all of you the environment of this restaurant is very awesome.but the food don't have any taste or maybe their cheff is too lazy too warm them..we was 4 friends and ordered food and all we received is cold bratkartofein.with suaerkrut that wasn't able to eat even...the service staff lady was unable to understand English and Dutch.she asked us like 7 times what exactly we need to eat ..first we received wrong food because we ordered something else and she understand something else she is probably from Thailand..and 2nd time we got this cold food..when the bill time came up a drunk women came to us to recive the bill i really feel this experience very bad... that's why i am sharing my experience that the owner of this restaurant should know of his stuff.thank you very much.

I'm really excited about our waiter with the glasses. He did everything he could to get us a table even though the restaurant was full. Despite the abundance, we received our food quickly. He always has a smile on his face and works quickly and still exudes calm. It gets 10 out of 10 stars from us.

Small German restaurant with friendly service. On the spot, we ordered schnitzel with fries, but the meat was dry and presented pretty boringly without any kind of decoration in relation to the price of 26 euros.

Basically a nice restaurant with friendly staff. But instead of the boiled potatoes I wanted the fried potatoes, which are also offered on the menu. I was actually charged 2.00 euros for this supplement change. It couldn't be more outrageous and inflexible.

I found this restaurant after arriving in Berlin and thinking, 'Let's eat German food for the first time!' The Eisbein was delicious, but a bit greasy. The schnitzel wasn't bad, but it wasn't to my taste. They said it was good for American tastes and that it was delicious. The best food was currywurst. The sausage wasn't salty (★Important★), the sauce was delicious, and the French fries were salty and crispy. I was surprised because the review said there was a lot of food. Because there seemed to be little food in the review photos. Actually, there are a lot of them. The plate was so big that it didn't show up when I took a picture. Five people went and ordered three and it was perfect. Instead, if all 5 people are hungry, you can write it down. It was a good restaurant to start with. Beer is not recommended. If you must drink it, drink dark beer. It's bland... I hope everyone can go to a delicious restaurant during their trip to Berlin, so I'm writing this in detail. :)

The site is definitely very good. Good traditional German food and the service can't be beat. Michael, who is from Verona, could not have been nicer. We ordered goulash but I ordered it wrong. I wanted it in soup and I asked for the other one and he quickly exchanged it for us. No problem. The knuckle is also very good and Apple strudle for dessert. Good price quality too. I definitely recommend it.

Rip off on the tip!!!!We just visited this place, and beware, the lady behind the bar decides how much tip you have to leave!!! It was a rip-off!!! We arrived around 22:45 and asked if they were still serving. The lady said, “no food, but one drink.” That's all we wanted anyway, so we sat at the bar, took a few pictures, and she was rigorously cleaning while the staff were finishing their shift. We rushed our drinks to get out of their way. I didn’t even finish my drink! When we asked for the bill, it came to €11.20 or something. We mentioned we were paying cash and handed over €50. The change we received was €30!!!! I didn’t fully complain but moaned a bit, asking where the rest of it was, and she said, “thanks for the tip yeah.” Surely, the tip should be up to us, and I was ready to use the €3.50 change I had in my bag. Just disgusting! Never again. I wish I had never gone or chose to pay with my card!!

You can get really good home cooking here. Very tasty and the portions are good. If you're in the mood for German cuisine, I can highly recommend the restaurant. Service very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go again

I don’t understand why this so-called “restaurant” has such a high rating. I can assume that this is a format of an establishment where clients are treated like cattle and the client is ready for this. Perhaps some visitors like iced coffee and food soaked in salt. There is no arguing about tastes, yes. If they were called the Food Block or the Social Canteen, I would give it a solid 4. But a swamp is a swamp.

We ate here two evenings in a row because the food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was super pleasant and rustic. Thank you for that!!! We'll definitely come back when we're nearby.

Fantaaaaaaaaastic restaurant! Absolutely loved this place. I came here with 6 friends and everyone loved it! Great place for traditional German food. Schnitzel there was very good. Very calm atmosphere and well decorated restaurant. Very comfortable seating too I must add. Best part was probably the quality of the service, food came very quickly and our waiter (I believe his name was Micheal) was super nice! His english and spanish were very fluent and his recomendations were very much worth it for their price and quality. He definitely deserves a raise! If you're reading this Micheal, the Spaniards on Wednesday from that history trip thank you!

We went to this place on our second evening in Berlin to enjoy their delicious, homemade-like dishes and have a cozy night. Both my friend and I have ordered the sausage platter, which contains three different kinds of tasty sausage and comes with Sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and the curry ketchup. The portions were huge! We had a couple of beers before we ordered their Brownie-like chocolate cake and Apfelstrudel. The food, including the dessert, was good and the place was cozy and authentic. After one or two too many beers, my friend and I asked for the check and decided to round up whatever number that comes on our bill as a "thank you for such a nice evening". However, the waitress refused to allow us to input our desired tip amount. Instead, she showed us the the card machine, and the only pre-determined options were tipping 10, 15 or 20 % of the total. Now, while it is indeed nice to give tips if one has enjoyed the meal and service, I do know that it's not an obligation in Berlin. It annoyed me so much that we were literally FORCED to give 10% tip when we had internally agreed on rounding up the value anyway. We ended up paying with 10% tip, however it kinda ruined the vibe of our evening as we went to our hotel room with a bad feeling of being cheated and scammed.

We were looking for a restaurant with exclusively German food. The place is very beautiful and traditional German. The food was not bad but not exceptional either. What bothered us was the waitress's attitude, first when assigning us the table, since the place was practically empty and she wanted to place us at a small table in a corner. Upon seeing our faces and sensing that we were going to leave, he assigned us a table to our liking. Second, when we wanted to wait for him to bring us the menu to order the drinks (we wanted beer and there are many types), he made an impertinent comment. Finally, when it came time to pay, because we didn't tip him he made a bad face that lasted until we left the premises. He didn't even respond to our farewell. I do not recommend this restaurant. It's not worth putting up with impertinence and the food isn't that bad either.

We came to eat on a Saturday evening. The schnitzel wasn't bad but the Berliner Teller arrived lukewarm and the meats smelled a bit like an old fridge. But the worst thing is that when I went to pay at the bar, I saw that the waitress at the cash register quickly added a 10% tip to the bill before printing the bill, before even knowing if I was going to tip. When I asked her to print the bill for me to check, she was embarrassed. Indeed, a 10% tip was automatically added without my agreement (see photo). So I made the remark and in complete bad faith she explained to me that this corresponds to the mandatory service and that the prices of the card are indicated without the service. But this is false, the prices of the card are indicated with the service (this is the law) and this corresponds to the optional tip. This restaurant lies and scams tourists, they are thieves with behavior unworthy of a restaurateur, and more than average food!

It was terrible, we waited a long time for the order, the staff at first did not come to us for a long time to take the order, and then we waited a very long time for the order itself. After our remark, the waitress handed over the dishes with a sour look on her face, which completely ruined the mood for my husband and me. We hoped to at least have a tasty meal, but literally EVERY dish was spoiled. Either it’s too sour, or too salty, or there’s too much fat in the broth, or it’s just tasteless. Only the fresh bread was tasty; I wouldn’t be surprised if it was imported and not prepared in a restaurant. I don’t recommend this place: it’s not tasty and it takes a long time. The evening was ruined.
