Ich gehe seit meiner Kindheit also über 50 Jahre dort essen. Viele Geburtstage und andere Feiern meistens im Kaminzimmer. Und zu früher hat sich bei der Qualität der Speisen nichts verändert. Nur ist es dort sehr viel hektischer geworden, man fühlt sich wie im Schnellimbiss, als wären es immer zu wenig Mitarbeiter und zuviele Gäste. Aus dem einst gediegenen Jagthaus Mollenkotten ist heute ein eher stressiger Ort geworden. Ich wünsche den Betreibern ein wenig mehr Gelassenheit und gute Mitarbeiter.

Personal freundlich, gemütlich. Essen lecker. Was fehlt ist leise Musik.

Bauern Krüstchen - was für den kleinen Hunger. Steht auf der Karte. Ich war mit meinem Freund Gernot da. Wir waren beide überrascht. Wie toll doch ein so einfaches Gericht gelingen kann wenn man auf den ganzen klimbim verzichtet. Einfach und dadurch jedem Sterne laden weit überlegen. Danke für das gute Essen!

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber wir sind dennoch satt geworden. Preis-Leistung stimmt hier nicht so ganz, aber der Service macht viel wieder wett

Ich fand es soweit ganz in Ordnung. Ein gut bürgerliches Lokal mit alter aber doch sehr kultiger und gemütlicher Inneneinrichtung. Man hat ein bisschen das Gefühl die Zeit läuft hier etwas langsamer aber im positiven. Ich hatte Schnitzel mit Schmorzwiebeln, Speckbohnen und Bratkartoffeln, dazu eine Pfeffersoße. Es war soweit alles sehr lecker mit Ausnahme der Pfeffersoße. Diese war mit Senf verfeinert worden und traf daher nicht so ganz meinen Geschmack. Aber trotzdem in Ordnung. Die Bedienung wirkte hin und wieder etwas rustikal aber war trotzdem durchgehend freundlich. Im großen und ganzen war der Besuch in Ordnung. Einziger Kritikpunkt sind die Toiletten. Diese riechen irgendwie sehr stark nach Urin obwohl mir keine Verunreinigung aufgefallen ist. Es war alles sauber, frisch und hygienisch aber trotzdem war der Geruch da. Sehr seltsam war das. Vielleicht ist irgendwo was undicht. Sollte man mal überprüfen.

Das Ambiente ist urig, zudem Positiv hervorzuheben ist auch, dass für die kleinen Gäste direkt bei der Ankunft Malsachen bereitlagen. Leider konnte das Essen überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Die Gerichte wirkten sehr lieblos angerichtet und qualitativ enttäuschend. Besonders das Filetsteak war ungenießbar, da es stark nach Leber schmeckte und deshalb zurückgegeben wurde. Noch enttäuschender war jedoch der Umgang mit unserer Kritik. Auf den Hinweis, dass das Essen nicht schmeckt, wurde lediglich mit „Das kann ich mir kaum vorstellen“ reagiert. Ein solches Feedback-Handling ist sehr unprofessionell und trübt den Gesamteindruck erheblich.

Ich war im Jagdhaus Möllenkotten und bin rundum begeistert. Die gut bürgerliche Küche ist richtig lecker, frisch zubereitet und preiswert – genau so, wie man es sich wünscht. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die sehr netten Bedienungen: aufmerksam, herzlich und immer gut gelaunt. Man merkt sofort, dass hier ein super Team zusammenarbeitet. Ein echtes Plus ist auch der kostenlose Stellplatz für Wohnmobile, Strom gibt es für faire 5 Euro. Perfekt für einen entspannten Besuch oder auch einen Zwischenstopp. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder und kann das Jagdhaus Möllenkotten absolut weiterempfehlen! 😊

Die Tischbestellung via Homepage/email funktionierte gut. Ich empfand die Räume als dunkel, altbacken. Das Fleisch vom Wiener Schnitzel (Kalb) war trocken, geschmacksneutral und wie die Pommes lau warm. Die Salatmischung war lieblos und undekorativ zusammengestellt. Es gab keine Getränkekarte. Ich empfand dieses Essen als unnötig, nichts was ich wieder essen möchte. Als negativ empfand ich die Toiletten (Achtung steile Treppe): es müffelte, es gab nur kaltes Wasser zum Händewaschen, es war kalt. Grundrenovierung fände ich überall angebracht. Und mal die Speisekarte „entstauben“.

Eigentlich eine schöne Lokalität, leider hat das Essen und die Bedienung nicht überzeugt. Bei den Pommes hatte man das Gefühl die Reste aus der Verpackung serviert zu bekommen, diese waren höchstens 2 cm lang, was einfach kein Spaß macht zu essen. Zudem waren die Pommes weder gesalzen noch schmackhaft, da sie genauso wie das Schnitzel nach alten Bratfett geschmeckt haben. Die Bedienung war launisch, mal richtig freundlich und dann wieder genervt. Ich habe mich einfach nicht wohl gefühlt und dann vor Ort auch kein Feedback gegeben, da ich auch nicht danach gefragt wurde.

Hatte mir eine Mahlzeit mit meiner Freundin bestellt und hatte haare im essen. Service war sehr unfreundlich.

Tolles Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen und unglaublich lieben, aufmerksamen Mitarbeiterinnen. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen – wir kommen definitiv immer wieder! Liebe Grüße

Leckeres Essen wobei die Portionen recht übersichtlich ausfallen. Freundliches Personal, welches bei der größeren Besuchergruppe ein wenig an ihre Grenzen kam.

Wir waren letzte Woche dort. Sehr gemütlich in der Stube. Speisen und Service wie erhofft, deshalb 5 Sterne. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal hier und es war genauso wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben. Alles hat gepasst, vom Platz im Häuschen bis zum Service, der sehr freundlich gewesen ist. Das Essen war sehr gut und wir haben versprochen wieder zu kommen und das werden wir auf jeden Fall tun. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend 😊

Highly recommended! The staff is super friendly, and the food is excellent. There's a parking space for motorhomes in the parking lot across the street, and it's very quiet at night, even though it's right on the road.

There were four of us eating here and we were very satisfied.

Recommended for good, home-style cooking. 10 people enjoyed nine different dishes and were satisfied.

I was truly shocked at how poor the food and service were at this restaurant. The food was neither fresh nor flavorful—everything tasted bland and seemed carelessly reheated. Some of the food arrived cold, even though we had to wait a long time for it. Even worse, however, was the service: disorganized, rude, and completely overwhelmed. Questions were either ignored or answered with annoyance. Friendliness? None. It seemed as if guests were more of a nuisance than welcome. Overall, a truly disappointing visit, one I won't soon forget—unfortunately, in a negative sense. The prices were outrageous for what was offered. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

Yesterday, 18 of us were at the Jagdhaus Mollenkotten with a party of 18 people. After getting a table for 6 people there on Father's Day evening and enjoying the food, we recommended the Jagdhaus to our aunt, who celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday. Yesterday, at least half of the guests present were not satisfied with the food. The steaks were overcooked and incredibly tough. Other meat dishes were also at the level of a fast food joint. The salad was delicious. The paprika cream steak was carelessly drowned in a sauce that had absolutely nothing to do with paprika cream. The guests who hadn't ordered meat dishes didn't complain. When you're invited by an old lady celebrating her birthday, you don't want to say anything publicly. Except for one of our teenagers, who immediately said the steak was incredibly bad. He ordered it with croquettes. After all, it was almost €30. To then offer a shoe sole like that is pretty cheeky. After our aunt complained to the younger waitress about the quality of the steaks, she left without a word, without even a small apology, let alone a small offer of compensation. On the way home, several people came out with criticism. There was simply nothing wrong with the meat dishes. It was so-so at best!!! But we let our elderly aunt believe that the food was delicious. If you criticize (as happened), it will be conveniently ignored anyway. We won't be back!!! Unfortunately!!

We were at the Jagdhaus Mollenkotten today, June 1, 2025. We'd heard from many friends that the food was good at this restaurant, and what can I say? It was fantastic. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the food arrived at the same time for all of us within a few minutes.

We had a delicious meal, and they accommodated our special requests and even offered some. We really enjoyed it 👍🏻

The food was very tasty. Compliments to the chef. What absolutely didn't work was that the boss ran through the hallways as if she were on the run. This creates absolute unrest for the guest. Equally impossible is the loud cursing towards her employees. This in turn leads to even more discomfort for the guest. It's not possible, we won't be coming back.

Always worth a visit if you don't want to miss out on quality food.

When I read the comment from a certain Sonnenfeld here, I can only shake my head. Container salad. Lowest level. About my review. I love the salad. I have never eaten a better one. Jagdhaus Mollenkotten is a family business. Mother and daughter really go out of their way to please every guest. The food tastes extremely tasty and the prices are very reasonable. I also don't know of any other restaurant where you get service so quickly. To the inventory. The inventory simply belongs to this beautiful old half-timbered house. If you're in a bad mood, you should never go to a restaurant. My old friends and I would love to come back.

Try the veal schnitzel Nothing “Viennese style”

I was there as a guest from Frankfurt and it was like from another time. The furnishings are quite dated without feeling any charm. It wasn't particularly clean either. The staff constantly insult each other while the guest notices everything. The price of the food is above Frankfurt average, but you get unseasoned steak with a few onions that passes for roast beef, with soggy, partly cold fries without mayo and a salad in the style of the 80s, all from containers carelessly lined up next to each other in a bowl.

First of all, I can't say anything about the food as we were only there to drink. 3 beers and 2 schnapps later, however, my verdict is poor. The service really wasn't good, I don't want to say bad, because we were served at some point, but each of the three service staff transferred their stress to us. I come from the catering industry myself, so I always come in, wait until I'm noticed and assigned a table before I just sit down somewhere on my own. I don't have a problem waiting, but as a guest I think it's important to be noticed and welcomed. After two waitresses had already rushed past us and we were obviously in the way (which couldn't be helped since you stand directly in the service passage after entering), we were asked if they could help us, I said straight away, that we just wanted something to drink and therefore didn't want to just sit down at a set table. We were then assigned a table. 10 minutes passed without the menu being handed to us, I turned around with a searching look, and one of the waitresses obviously felt spoken to, but just snapped to me, "Yes, there are 40 people sitting back there, I can't change that right now "that it's full" (possibly different choice of words, but that was the message), to which I replied, "That's okay for me, but one card would be enough for me for now", we received this shortly afterwards, with a direct question , whether We wanted to have a drink, I replied that we were only there to drink anyway, but we would like to see what beer they had. A second later and completely without time or sensitivity, I was asked if I was taking a pilsner. I pointed out that I would like to decide for myself in peace what it will be, regardless of their stress. After the first drink was running low, my companion spoke to the waitress, who, however, made no move to stop, which resulted in an, Eh-Eh, apology, because we didn't want to be rude and didn't know because of her posture. whether she heard us. Then she turns around and says, “Eh Eh, not at all”, and I almost burst my collar. Service is different, because the posture and the look also signaled absolute disinterest in our existence. After I pointed out how out of place her statement and behavior was, we were even allowed to order. 👏🏼 I have every understanding of stress in the catering industry, but a sentence like: “I’ll be with you straight away, there’s a lot going on right now and I have to serve the large group first” doesn’t hurt anyone. We actually wanted to go out for something to eat here in the next few days, but we'll postpone that and look for something that doesn't give you the impression: "Be careful, the customer is threatening sales"! What a shame!

We ate well and slept well on the pitch. Despite the street, it was quiet at night.

Anyone who loves good German home cooking will love coming here. The restaurant is a bit old, but it's still nice. There is a large selection of food and there is always a seasonal menu. I've been there several times and I wasn't always thrilled with the food, but overall I was always satisfied. What's remarkable is that you never have to wait long after ordering, the food is always on the table quickly. There is also a nice dessert menu, although we miss the crème brulé that used to be available here. The restaurant is also suitable for wheelchair users, everything is at ground level (except the toilets). We'll be back, thank you very much!

We come here regularly. I really like the ambience. It is very cozy and rustic. The service is always great and friendly. I always like the food very much. There is also a children's menu and if our son was too loud, they didn't immediately yell at us. I can only highly recommend it to everyone who likes it cozy 👍🏻

We have been guests here for many years and always feel welcome. The food is really tasty, the price/performance ratio is right and the service is excellent. Our sports car club visits the Mollenkotten hunting lodge every month for a club evening. Even with a group of sometimes 50 people, everyone gets their food and drinks promptly. Many thanks to the great team.

The food was very good. Even though there was a large group there, we received our food after about 20 minutes. First we got some bread from the house and some quark with herbs before our food came. The ambience is also very good. The service ladies helped immediately (I am a wheelchair user). All in all, it was a successful birthday meal.

Catastrophic!!! The food wasn't good, at least we've never eaten the gypsy schnitzel and the cordon bleu so badly. The service was inattentive and unfriendly, the drinks of the people who went to the toilet when entering the restaurant were not even taken and some of the drinks ordered by others were forgotten. When you asked if they were still there, no apology or anything like that. As I said, disastrous service, we wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Absolute recommendation! Child-friendly and the service was also great. The atmosphere corresponds to the name, it is a very cozy atmosphere and the decoration gives the restaurant the "finishing touch". The menu offers a diverse selection and vegan dishes can also be found there. The prices are reasonable. In our case we also had a dog with us, which was also warmly welcomed and was able to find a place away from it, all in all: 5* well deserved. Will be our next regular restaurant 👏💐

We had dinner there today with 6 people. The ambience was perfectly rustic from the entrance/exit to the table. The toilets are very clean and modern. The staff very attentive and friendly. The food was great and the prices were reasonable, although a little higher. The quality and the price match very well. According to the menu, my salmon fillet was supposed to be served with boiled potatoes, but when I asked, I got roasted potatoes (even delivered later). We were completely thrilled. Would love to come back. 😁😁😁😁

I love the hunting lodge and have loved it for 22 years now. You are simply great! Now my sister and her family are also really excited. It's just good to enjoy a break here. Real schnitzel in a wide variety of variations, delicious lettuce dressed with a classic cream dressing. Side dishes separately on the table. Always worth a visit. Here you can enjoy good food in peace. Great service with the heart in the right place. Always my pleasure. Oh yes, before I forget. The snails are also amazing.

Es ist eben ein Jagdhaus, rustikales Ambiente, aber das Essen ist reichhaltig, vielseitig und lecker. Der Service ist wunderbar freundlich und zuvorkommend und bedient zügig. Die Zubereitung ist schnell und der Teller sieht sehr ansprechend angerichtet aus. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist vernünftig. Wenn wir nicht so weit entfernt wohnen würden, kämen wir öfter. Danke für ein schönes Geburtstagsessen.

Wir können die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen! ... Angereist auf Empfehlung und zu Stammgästen geworden. Gemütliches, uriges Ambiente. Sehr freundlicher Service und immer stets bemüht, auch im vollen Restaurant. Vorspeisen, Hauptgang und Dessert, waren sehr schmackhaft und frisch. Gänsebraten mit Beilagen zu empfehlen. Sonderwünsche wurden problemlos umgesetzt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

War zu Oldtimer Treffen dort schöne Location Parkflächen gegenüber dem Jagdhaus werden genutzt und es gab einen Imbiss Wagen auf der Seite Currywurst und auch Schaschlik mit Pommes waren gut. Preis-Leistung ok.

Ich war im Imbisswagen. Die Pommes waren super. Die Currywurst war leider nur lauwarm in der Mitte. Hat dafür aber gut geschmeckt.

Wir sind seit Jahrzehnten Gäste in diesem Restaurant, immer mal mehr oder weniger häufig. Die Qualität ist stets gleichwertig, es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Die Serviceleistungen sind sehr ansprechend, die Freundlichkeit ist nicht aufgesetzt.
