Haus Sondermann in Wuppertal

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant today was very disappointing. We were there with eight adults (one of them in a wheelchair) and two children, we made reservations in advance! As a wheelchair user, you can sit barrier-free either in the entrance area or in the large hall. After we were first offered to carry my mother up three steps in the wheelchair, which ended with the footrests coming off and her landing rather unceremoniously, we were seated in the large hall. The radiators were only turned on at this point, so it was pretty cold there and didn't get really warm during the entire stay. To clarify: We had previously called and clarified that we were coming with a wheelchair user! The food was also suitable in terms of temperature. The vegetables on all plates were cold and were only warmed by lukewarm sauce, the pasta on the children's plate was also cold and the steak on the last plate brought was half raw! Overall, we waited quite a long time for the food, which is probably why half of the dishes were cold. The robber plate for the smallest among us was not brought at all. After we commented on the cold vegetables, we were offered to bring new ones, which we politely declined because we wanted to at least eat the meat warm and not everything separately and one after the other. When we complained about the steak, we were also offered compensation, but we felt so rejected and unwanted that we actually just wanted to get home quickly (and cold). All in all, there were just far too many things that you don't want to ignore. Definitely the last visit there for us!

We came here for dinner for the first time and were met with very friendly service and a delicious dinner. We were very surprised at how quickly the food was served for 4 adults even though the restaurant was full. Respect to the kitchen. Category recommended Please reserve a table

Great location in nature with a winter garden inside and a beer garden and playground outside. With its own large and free parking space. Super tasty, rather rustic food. Everything to feel good :-)

We've eaten there 4 or 5 times now... always disappointing, a shame. The goose is not good! It's nice and crispy, but there's a thick layer of fat under the skin, so it's not baked well. I think €34.90 without the baked apple, which costs extra. Far too many tables in the room and therefore far too loud, a total cafeteria feeling. 4 out of 10 meals arrive about 15 minutes later than the other meals. When we asked the waitress where the other four meals were left, since we actually wanted to eat together, the waitress replied, “He can only bring to the table what the kitchen puts out “ 🙈🙈🙈 Well, quite amusing in retrospect.

My rating goes to the restaurant. Nice service, very good food at fair prices. I really enjoyed it and would love to come over in the summer to eat outside in the beautiful surroundings.

Prices for dishes have risen a lot. In the summer the beer garden is very nice. Belt children too.

There were around 23 people there. It's a new owner of the restaurant, at least for me. It was very crowded there. The service was very friendly, nice and helpful. Food was, I had home cooking, okay. You can't praise it but you can't complain either, so it's average. My wife had vegetarian food and was very satisfied. The others, as far as I felt, enjoyed it. That's why I can say that it is significantly better than its predecessor! In summary: food was good 👍, service was great 👍, price-performance ratio was completely okay. After the experience with the new owner, we would like to come back!

I have to say we were at Haus Sondermann 20-30 years ago, and the food and staff are always very good, of course I also have to say that there is a new wind in it now. All I can say for myself is keep it up, 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Der einzige Grund das Haus Sondermann noch zu besuchen ist das freundliche,hilfsbereites und kompetente Bedienungspersonal( Grösstenteils ) Das bestellte Schnitzel mit Balkansosse war ein Skandal. Mit einer Dicke von ca. 2 aufeinander liegenden Kochschinken Scheiben entspricht ca. 50 Gramm Fleisch das flach geklopft wurde mit wenig Soße und ein paar Pommes Fritte ohne Deko wie etwas Zitrone oder Salatgrün ohne Salatschale schlechter als in einer Imbissbude, aber für 17,90€ ein Reibachteller für den Inhaber, wenn man bedenkt das man für ein 160Gramm Schnitzel aus der Oberschale 1,20€ brutto im Supermarkt kaufen kann, man muss es dann natürlich selbst zubereiten, aber dann weiß man was man hat und muss sich nicht über die Gier anderer ärgern.

We stayed at Haus Sondermann with three families and were thrilled. The food was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly. The owner came to the table for a little chat, which we found very nice - a very open and friendly guy. The staff was equally welcoming, which made our visit particularly pleasant. The children's playground was particularly great for the children, where they could let off steam while we enjoyed the food. A real feel-good restaurant for the whole family!

It's been a long time since we've been back to Haus Sondermann and we were absolutely thrilled! The change in operator is clearly noticeable - fast, friendly staff, despite being busy, everyone is polite and always on hand. Super delicious food. We'll be back!

Review refers to the restaurant. Good home cooking. I was very satisfied both professionally and personally. Absolutely visitable again after the new owners took over. Good service, nice outdoor area. Great, especially with smaller children, as there are play equipment. It's on my permanent favorites list.

For the second time under the new owner we went to Haus Sondermann for dinner. Reservations are recommended on weekends as it gets very busy. The waitress was attentive, but argued quite loudly with another waitress in front of our eyes and ears, which is not okay. To the essential, the food. The food was mostly quite good, for example stuffed minced steak or rump steak. The grill plate definitely needs improvement, as the meat was once again at least partially cooked. The portions can be described as large, any leftover food can be taken home in the bowls provided - very good. By the way, it is relatively loud in the winter garden, even though it is nice to look at - just for your information.

Service price/performance everything was very good

Beautifully located in the "Bergisches", between Velbert and Wuppertal, this restaurant is absolutely recommended. The new operators are passionate about offering guests a great stay that is not just limited to food and drink, but also offers a variety of opportunities for children to have fun. The food and the associated service can certainly be described as exceptional in these times. Rooms of various sizes are also available for private celebrations. Another advantage is a correspondingly large parking space. The prices for food and drinks can be classified as moderate for today's conditions. Always my pleasure!

Good home cooking. Despite a heavy rush outside, we had reserved for 11 people, all of our dishes were prepared to our satisfaction. Price performance ratio is right. Only small catch. If drinks are not specifically ordered small, the largest ones will be served. This speaks to me as a service worker.

Spacious beer garden for young and old. Conveniently located in the countryside. Very good parking options. Extensive range of food and drink - everything is great!

Was in this restaurant for the first time today... and certainly not the last time. The service staff very attentive and friendly. The food was very appetizingly prepared and very tasty. I can't say anything about the hotel, I was only in the restaurant.

The ambience is very nice and upscale. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing. We were there with 6 people and had reserved. After some confusion as to where we should sit, we were able to order straight away. Unfortunately, the ginger ale we ordered was mixed with water and the “homemade” spritzers were just industrial syrup with water, but we paid a lot for that per drink. Unfortunately, my husband's steak was completely fried and the potatoes and my pasta were drowned in oil. After a complaint there was no further response. We then tried dessert, which we waited 20 minutes for. But we pointed out that we would have to go home to see the child soon. There was also no response to this complaint afterwards. Because of all this, the service didn't seem very competent and rather annoyed if you didn't make a decision straight away. Unfortunately, the service and kitchen coordination was also poor. We had barely finished the starter when the waiters were already standing in front of the table with the main course. Unfortunately very disappointing. We were hoping that the food would be better with the new tenant.

Die Portionen waren gut und reichlich. Wir waren alle begeistert. PS. Das Restaurant war gut besucht und auf dem Parkplatz waren immer noch Plätze frei....

We went here for dinner for the first time yesterday based on a recommendation. Oh well. The menu is completely slashed on weekends. There just aren't that many dishes. The portions are very generous, but totally oldscool. Taste in the middle range. Service was ok. - sometimes without an overview. Good bourgeois, whatever that means, is also available in other restaurants, with better quality.

Today the four of us had dinner at Haus Sondermann. The restaurant and the beer garden were very busy at over 31 degrees 🌞 We got a table in the beer garden in great weather and a service person assigned it to us. The drinks and food were served quickly. We didn't expect this given the high number of guests, respect. The dishes were delicious and the portions were sufficient. We celebrated a birthday. Even though the appointments were full, the service was quick and friendly. The food was also very good. There is a nice playground for children.

For me personally, the food wasn't to my liking. Not only was the menu far too extensive, which suggests that a lot of convenience was used here, but unfortunately you could also taste it. The price of the dishes is also far too high considering the quality. The service staff was super nice, I'm happy to give it 5 stars for that. But I won't eat here anymore. I can get this quality cheaper in other places.

Haus Sondermann, the cult restaurant in Velbert/Neviges. People like to come here, whether as a couple, with friends or with family. Particularly worth mentioning, especially in the warm season, is the large, inviting beer garden. Located in the middle of green nature, the children also have fun in the beautiful playground. Nice service, extensive menu at moderate prices. Here everyone will find something to their taste. Ich bin sowas von Enttäuscht von diesem Restaurant.. Lage Ambiente und Der Biergarten einfach Top aber das Essen und der Service ist eher Imbissbuden Qualität. Gegessen hatten wir 2 mal Schnitzel mit einer Sause Pommes ( Salat gab es nicht dabei )das Schnitzel war mehr Panade als Fleisch .Das Fleisch selber war so Ausgekloppt hatte höchstens 3 mm aber die Panade 5 bis 6 mm auf jeder Seite des Schnitzels. Ich hatte ein Bier getrunken und meine Begleitung ein Wasser. Das Bier war leer aber es kam kein Service und hat gefragt ob alles io ist und ob noch was an Getränke an den Tisch kommt--Nix wir mussten nach der Bedingung ,,Rufen !!! aber sie kam einfach nicht in einer gewissen Zeit... ??nach 20 min fragte man .. ob es noch was sein darf? wir verneinten und baten um die Rechnung. .Also wenn das Restaurant Zukunft haben soll...Preise runter besseren Service und die Qualität der Gerichte muss sich ändern.

Ganz slecht das man verpflichtet wird Pommes ze essen und kein Salat dafür auswählen kan. ( Menu war Schnitzel mit Pommes) Es geht nur wann man bezahlt fur den Salat ( und das Geld für den nicht genommen Pommes bekommt man nicht zurück)

At the weekend we had dinner with 16 people at Haus Sondermann. First of all: I made a reservation a few weeks in advance and chose Haus Sondermann so that I could sit outside nicely. This was also confirmed to me, there was no problem outside. When we arrived, things were set up for inside. Rain was not forecast. With great difficulty we were able to sit outside. However, very far back, at the older tables and chairs. In the front area everything was new and nice. Well, I was glad we could sit outside. The order was taken quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Food was missing for 2 people and 1 child and was delivered when the others were almost ready. Unfortunately the meat in both dishes was raw. We objected to it. After about 20 minutes the new food arrived, but this time with the wrong side dish. When the waiter was made aware of this, he put the food on the table, turned around without comment and left. I was actually at a loss for words. If I had been there alone I would have definitely left. About 10 minutes later the missing side dish was brought and placed on the table without comment. I've actually never experienced anything like this in a restaurant. Another waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was okay, but not of high quality (finished products/sauces). The location is really nice, but if you're looking for good service, you're definitely better off at other restaurants. However, there were also very friendly, attentive waiters there. Overall, I would not recommend the restaurant based on my experience.

Delicious food, good service, price and performance match

We had dinner there today with 5 people. Our expectations were high because we came here on a recommendation. Out of 5 dishes, one was absolutely okay, the other dishes were lukewarm, and the rice was actually really cold. The coleslaw was out of the bucket just like Liedel sells it, and to charge €3.90 for it is outrageous. The fact that the food was only lukewarm is quite an achievement, and then the average price was €23.00. Hats off The drinks were okay A small beer is €3.30/033l and €5.10 for the 05l is okay. I can then mix the second Radler myself. I think the whole thing is worth evaluating. 👎👎👎 Maybe you'll have better luck. You won't see me there again. 👋

Sondermann is an old regular restaurant that feels like it has been around forever. The owner has changed. So a new menu and fresh staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Rebuilt. Now with a huge terrace. Absolutely delicious food at moderate prices. We'd love to come back

Totales Chaos. 18.00Uhr war der Tisch bestellt 19.30Uhr und später kam das Essen erst für 4Personen dann noch mal für 2 und die letzten 2 mussten nochmal warten.Das Essen war kalt und 4Grillteller alle unterschiedlich. Zu dem musste man die Schreierei aus der Küche mit anhören. Einmal und nie wieder!!!

Based on the reviews we decided to eat there again. I didn't like it at all and my food was more bulk than class. It's a shame, but there's no reason for us to go there anymore.
