Very friendly, despite the house being full we were served promptly, the food was great, we also got vegan even though it wasn't on the daily menu!

The beer garden is nice and big with lots of parasols. Unfortunately the apple spritzers had no fizz at all. The playground is popular with small children.

We ate there for the first time today. It was a birthday family meal and we all (14 people) were thrilled!! The location is really nice, the service and the employees are great, super friendly and accommodating. You can't complain about the food either. It was very tasty, everyone enjoyed it and there was a nice, full and generous plate for every dish! We would love to come back again. 😊

We only ate here as part of a cozy afternoon with work colleagues. Personally, it was my first time here, but definitely not the last time. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The selection of food and drinks is more than sufficient. The food was served quickly, was very tasty and the portion was absolutely sufficient. Good value for money, we found. The quality is good, everything was fresh and well prepared. We'd love to come back.

We went here for dinner for the first time yesterday based on a recommendation. Oh well. The menu is completely slashed on weekends. There just aren't that many dishes. The portions are very generous, but totally oldscool. Taste in the middle range. Service was ok. - sometimes without an overview. Good bourgeois, whatever that means, is also available in other restaurants, with better quality.

Today the four of us had dinner at Haus Sondermann. The restaurant and the beer garden were very busy at over 31 degrees 🌞 We got a table in the beer garden in great weather and a service person assigned it to us. The drinks and food were served quickly. We didn't expect this given the high number of guests, respect. The dishes were delicious and the portions were sufficient. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating 👍We can recommend Haus Sondermann and would be happy to come back 😊

We celebrated a birthday. Even though the appointments were full, the service was quick and friendly. The food was also very good. There is a nice playground for children.

For me personally, the food wasn't to my liking. Not only was the menu far too extensive, which suggests that a lot of convenience was used here, but unfortunately you could also taste it. The price of the dishes is also far too high considering the quality. The service staff was super nice, I'm happy to give it 5 stars for that. But I won't eat here anymore. I can get this quality cheaper in other places.

Haus Sondermann, the cult restaurant in Velbert/Neviges. People like to come here, whether as a couple, with friends or with family. Particularly worth mentioning, especially in the warm season, is the large, inviting beer garden. Located in the middle of green nature, the children also have fun in the beautiful playground. Nice service, extensive menu at moderate prices. Here everyone will find something to their taste. At the weekend we had dinner with 16 people at Haus Sondermann. First of all: I made a reservation a few weeks in advance and chose Haus Sondermann so that I could sit outside nicely. This was also confirmed to me, there was no problem outside. When we arrived, things were set up for inside. Rain was not forecast. With great difficulty we were able to sit outside. However, very far back, at the older tables and chairs. In the front area everything was new and nice. Well, I was glad we could sit outside. The order was taken quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Food was missing for 2 people and 1 child and was delivered when the others were almost ready. Unfortunately the meat in both dishes was raw. We objected to it. After about 20 minutes the new food arrived, but this time with the wrong side dish. When the waiter was made aware of this, he put the food on the table, turned around without comment and left. I was actually at a loss for words. If I had been there alone I would have definitely left. About 10 minutes later the missing side dish was brought and placed on the table without comment. I've actually never experienced anything like this in a restaurant. Another waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was okay, but not of high quality (finished products/sauces). The location is really nice, but if you're looking for good service, you're definitely better off at other restaurants. However, there were also very friendly, attentive waiters there. Overall, I would not recommend the restaurant based on my experience.

We had dinner there today with 5 people. Our expectations were high because we came here on a recommendation. Out of 5 dishes, one was absolutely okay, the other dishes were lukewarm, and the rice was actually really cold. The coleslaw was out of the bucket just like Liedel sells it, and to charge €3.90 for it is outrageous. The fact that the food was only lukewarm is quite an achievement, and then the average price was €23.00. Hats off The drinks were okay A small beer is €3.30/033l and €5.10 for the 05l is okay. I can then mix the second Radler myself. I think the whole thing is worth evaluating. 👎👎👎 Maybe you'll have better luck. You won't see me there again. 👋

Sondermann is an old regular restaurant that feels like it has been around forever. The owner has changed. So a new menu and fresh staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Rebuilt. Now with a huge terrace. Absolutely delicious food at moderate prices. We'd love to come back

Seid der Pandemie habe ich jeden Sonntag bei der Vorbesitzerin Frau Lippe (Haus Sondermann) mein Essen (verschiedene Gerichte) geholt und war immer zufrieden.Nachdem das Haus einen neunen Pächter hat, hat sich manches geändert. Leider nicht alles zum Vorteil Damals kostete ein Schnitzel Hawai mit Salat 12,90 €. Es waren zwei Scheben Annanas und zwei halbe Pfirsiche drauf. Heute gibt es keinen Salat mehr dzu, Pfirsiche sind nur noch zwei kleine Stücke drauf und das Schnitzel ist viel dünner geworden. Der Preis ist aber auf 21,90€ gestiegen, wenn ich den Salt dazu bestelle. Ich hole dort nur noch selten etwas zu Essen 19.06.2024 Erich H.

Nicht mehr das, was es mal war! Wir waren bereits schon zwei oder dreimal nach dem Besitzerwechsel im Haus Sondermann und jetzt nach längerer Zeit erneut. Leider hat sich viel verändert. Die Preise fürs Essen sind zwischen 30 und 35 % gestiegen, wobei das Essen an Qualität echt nachgelassen hat. Meine Frau hat ein Champignon Rahmschnitzel gegessen und ich ein Wienerschnitzel. Als ich den Wunsch zum Salat abgeben wollte, sagte man mir, dass bei den Speisen kein Salat mehr enthalten ist und dieser separat bestellten und bezahlt werden müsste. Bei einem Wienerschnitzel für 15,90 € und einem Champignons Rahmschnitzel für fast 18 € ist es schon erschreckend, dass so ein kleiner Beilagensalat noch separat bezahlt werden muss. Für meine Frau habe ich dann ein Beilagensalat bestellt, Ich habe darauf verzichtet. Nur gekommen ist der Salat nicht, aber auf der Rechnung war er aufgeführt, was ich bei der Begleichung der Rechnung bemängelt habe. Selbstverständlich wurden die Kosten dafür abgezogen. Das Schnitzel war trocken und maximal 2-3 mm dick und hatte keinerlei Geschmack, also war die Hauptspeise das Paniermehl von beiden Seiten. Die Pommes waren Steinhart und trocken. Dann hatte meine Frau eine Cola Light und ich eine normale Cola bestellt. Den Kellner habe ich extra gefragt, um welche Cola es sich handelt, weil ich seit 45 Jahren nur Coca-Cola trinke. Er bestätigte das und sagte, dass sie Coca-Cola ausschenken, Worauf ich mir dann eine Cola bestellt habe. Den ersten Schluck genommen, und mir wurde fast übel, wenn das Coca-Cola ist, habe ich 45 Jahre wohl etwas falsches getrunken. Coca-Cola schmeckt anders. Diese Cola dort schmeckte wie noname Getränk. Ich habe den Kellner dann nochmals darauf angesprochen, ob es sich dabei wirklich um eine Coca-Cola handelt, wobei er mir sagte, dass es so ist und wenn ich damit nicht zufrieden wäre, er mir gerne ein neues Getränk bringen könnte. Ich habe darauf verzichtet, mich aber mit jedem weiteren Stock geärgert, dass ich die Cola nicht habe zurückgehen lassen. Was dort mit den Getränken gemacht wird, kann ich nicht sagen, laut Aussage Kellner würde aus Flaschen ausgeschenkt und nicht aus einem Automat. Ich möchte nichts schlechtes Nachsagen, aber das, was dort ausgeschenkt wurde, war keine Coca-Cola. Bezahlt haben wir 44 €, für trockene Schnitzel und einem schlechten Getränk. Sorry, das ist einfach zu viel Geld dafür, da kann ich besser in einen Imbiss gehen. Schade für diese schöne Gastronomie mit diesem wunderbaren Außenbereich, aber wir werden dort nicht mehr hingehen. Was ich nicht verstehen kann, dass andere so gute Bewertungen abgeben, auch über das Essen Ich würde Ja sagen, Geschmäcker sind verschieden, aber nicht bei schlechtem Essen

Beautiful beer garden. Some of the dishes are a bit unimaginative and unloving. Lots of deep fryer... We were unlucky with the spare ribs: dry and tasteless. But the beer garden makes up for a lot when the weather is nice. With playground for children!!!

We ate at Haus Sondermann a few times and had a communion party there. The food was always delicious and the service was top. Everything went smoothly at the celebration with over 40 guests. The starters were brought out at the same time and the children came first for the main course. Simply well organized. The food for the adults came quickly and everyone had their food on the table almost at the same time. The entire organization at Haus Sondermann is simply breathtaking. The manager of the house came by regularly and asked about the well-being and repeatedly asked if everything was OK. I can only recommend this restaurant, whether it's an evening with the family or a celebration, you'll go home satisfied.

The Sondermann house used to be really great. Unfortunately the quality has become very poor. There were only frozen vegetables and ready-made sauces. That's why I couldn't get anything gluten-free. The waiter tried very hard, but unfortunately the kitchen failed.

Good excursion restaurant with a large terrace and outdoor area

Dear readers! If you are looking for a great restaurant with a beer garden, hearty, fresh food, a reasonable price/performance ratio and committed, attentive and friendly staff - then you have come to the right place. After an extensive, sunny Mother's Day trip, I wanted a nice evening of feeding outside. Since I don't just feel this desire on Mother's Day, most of the places like this in the area are known to us and, from our experience, are not worth nearly the length of this text. A friendly young man welcomed us and showed us to a cozy table in the beer garden, surrounded by hedges. A no less attentive lady accepted our drink requests and another gentleman looked after our menu selection in an expectant manner. You felt constantly cared for, which we responded with a request for a little patience ;-) After carefully studying the dishes on offer, what was brought to the table made us say a delighted “wow”. Both the starter, crispy slices of bread with fresh brusketta, and the neatly portioned, obviously freshly and lovingly prepared main courses were a pleasant surprise! (see photos). This was also confirmed in the evening team meeting, which I was able to attend for a short time :-) Thank you for the lovely evening on this journey! Conclusion: highly recommended. 👌👍 NS. If you can't quite manage the portions, we'll be happy to pack it up. However, don't forget to note that you would certainly be able to cope with the portion size and that you wouldn't want a smaller one. ;-) In this sense... Greetings from Wuppertal

We were invited to communion, the rooms are very cramped, the noise is very high and the food was good, but not very seasoned... The service staff were in a very good mood and very friendly. Toilets were well maintained, but you have to be able to walk a lot of steps to get there. There are opportunities for children to play, which is quite good, but rather poorly secured, the slide tilts and is very questionable... so everything in itself is very nice, but there is still room for improvement.

I can't understand the many positive reviews, the change of operator didn't make things any better. The last time we were here was years ago and it was already so-so. Are now here for a second chance and it was rather bad again. The service is slow and inattentive, the schnitzel is mediocre and the sauces are out of a bag, only the steak was surprisingly good after removing the ready-made sauce. Nice location, but otherwise… We won't be coming back.

Wie waren das erste mal nach dem Besitzerwechsel dort. Die Einrichtung wurde erneuert und sieht einladend aus. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, aber allesamt mehr wie völlig unaufmerksam. In drei Stunden Aufenthalt wurden wir nicht einmal ansatzweise nach einen erneuten Getränke gefragt, sondern mussten explizit dazu auffordern. Die Küche hat sich zwar von "früher" grotten schlecht auf schlecht verändert, aber sie ist immer noch nicht annähernd gut. Völlig unprofessionell geschmacklos und billig weg. Eigentlich schade für so eine Lokalität.

The new tenant gave the Sondermann house new life in the restaurant...it was gradually renovated so that you really feel at home there. The food is delicious and there is also a changing weekly menu. Service is top. Unfortunately I cannot provide any information about the hotel operation.

On April 20, 2024 we celebrated our wedding at Haus Sondermann and everything was perfect. The waiters were all super friendly, even our favorite waiter, who unfortunately wasn't responsible for us that evening but rather in the restaurant, came over briefly to congratulate us. The celebration was a complete success. The room was rearranged and decorated exactly according to our ideas. Already during the preparation you could tell how much effort the boss puts into his guests. He ordered black tablecloths especially for us and picked out the nicest ones he could find. The food was also, as expected, a 10/10. Always a pleasure! We and our guests were thrilled with the location, which was recently freshly painted. The gray and the new lights give the hall an elegant and cozy atmosphere. We would celebrate here again and again. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful evening! We are already looking forward to our next visit to the restaurant :)

We were there for the first time after the change of ownership. The furnishings have been renovated and look inviting. The service is friendly, but all of them are more than completely inattentive. In three hours of stay, we weren't even remotely asked for another drink, but had to explicitly request it. The kitchen has changed from "previously" gruesome to bad, but it's still nowhere near good. Completely unprofessional, tasteless and cheap. It's actually a shame for such a location.

I have rarely been lied to as boldly as I was here. The mishap started when we wanted to order drinks, but couldn't find a menu with drinks and prices on them. When we asked the service they said it was Easter and there was only a small menu on which the drinks were simply missing. However, all the dishes on the small menu were more expensive than on the menu on the restaurant's website. But he could memorize the map and then refer to it. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't! Then before I ordered I asked the service whether the mushrooms in the Jägerschnitzel were fresh. He said yes, it turned out to be a lie. They were canned. You could see, smell and taste it. So when I was asked if it tasted good, I said it didn't taste good because the mushrooms were canned. He then said that wasn't the case, I explained to him how you could tell. I asked him to go to the kitchen to ask the cook, he disappeared. Then a second waiter came and asked if it tasted good, I repeated my answer. Then a third waiter came and asked and I said I was getting tired of saying everything three times. The third waiter then asked if I had already told the manager of the house, as he had just been at my table. When I asked when, he pointed to the second waiter who was at my table. However, he hadn't introduced himself as the owner, so I couldn't know. In the meantime the first waiter came back. He had asked the chef, who said the mushrooms were fresh. I said I didn't feel like talking about it anymore. But then the owner came again and said some of the mushrooms were fresh. They would mix fresh and canned mushrooms. Then I told him that when I ask if the mushrooms are fresh before I order, I mean ALL mushrooms and not just some of them. Here you are lied to until the lie is so obvious that you have to tell the truth! Total failure!

Highly recommended since the change of operator. Mixed cuisine, from schnitzel to pasta dishes, salads and Balkan cuisine, everything is included. Good waiters, good prices and very tasty. Plus, as usual, a huge beer garden. May summer come!!! The picture shows the fitness salad.

A lot has changed and my rating to the highest has improved. Wonderful friendly service, everything prepared very tastefully and with love. Super good value for money and the ambience. We are already looking forward to the summer in the great beer garden and great conversations with the employees and the new tenant. We love coming with our family and also invite friends there. When it was my birthday, I had my guests stay in the hotel and they only said the best about the rooms, super clean and functional but super well equipped. They really raved about a great, cozy breakfast tomorrow morning. Thank you again for that.

The restaurant "Haus Sondermann" is great. In summer you can eat in the beer garden or on the premises. The food was plentiful and delicious. There is a playground for children. The service is very good - the staff is very accommodating.

Ich war seit dem Betreiberwechsel mindestens 6x als Gast im Haus Sondermann. Es hat sich vieles zum Positiven verändert. Das Inventar ist erneuert worden, die Wochenkarte ist abwechslungsreich, die Stühle sind bequemer geworden, und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr bemüht und der Chef des Hauses lässt sich auch mal blicken. Das einzige Manko ist die unglaubliche Akustik wenn es gut besucht ist. Aber ein Besuch ist es immer wert.
