We were your guests on Saturday The house was really full and yet the food and drinks came really quickly! In any case, many restaurants can learn a lesson. After the first meal was served, the rest followed very quickly so that we could eat together. The food was classic, home cooking and delicious. Prices are also in the decent price segment. You have to say positive things too! Even though the house was full, our waiter always had an eye on everything and thank you to Server 2 for that! We'll definitely be back!

We celebrated communion in Haus Sondermann on Saturday and were very satisfied. The location is great, the food is wonderful and the service is very, very nice. Nothing was left to be desired. Thanks again for the great day!

We had a birthday party with about 60 people, we were promised everything would be perfect, it was better!! Service, food and ambience are great. The overnight rooms are getting old, but clean and ok. Some of our friends stayed overnight in the large parking lot in the RV and everyone came to have breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. Everything perfect, every time!

Vor gut einem Jahr war das Restaurant echt toll und preislich ok. Der neue Besitzer hat sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben. Der neue Wintergarten und die schöne Außenterrasse luden zum Relaxen ein. Leider sieht die Welt dieses Jahr anders aus. Die Preise gingen um gut 50% rauf und die Qualität des Essens um 70% runter. Angeblich gab es keinen Wechsel des Kochs. Die Pfannenschnitzel wurden durch deutlich billigere Fritteusenschnitzel ersetzt, die Beilagen massiv reduziert und der Beilagensalat bei den Schnitzeln ganz gestrichen. Die Essen haben jetzt nur noch Pommesbudenqualität, wenn überhaupt, und werden ziemlich lieblos auf den Tellern angerichtet. Außerdem muss man jetzt mit fast 20 Euro pro Essen rechnen. Günstigere Essen sind sofort vergriffen. Wir waren richtig enttäuscht, trotz tollem Wetter. Zufriedene Kunden kommen gerne wieder, unzufriedene schauen sich nach Alternativen um. Qualität siegt immer vor Quantität. Schade. Wir sind gerne und oft gekommen, werden aber jetzt auf andere Lokalitäten in der näheren Umgebung ausweichen.

In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is no longer correct. For example, the schnitzel dishes are not that cheap. However, what many people no longer remember is that there used to be a salad. Not anymore today. Must be ordered separately and added to it. The salad dressing and the sauces taste like ready-made dressing. Too bad. Otherwise everything is nice, the beer garden is nice, the service is super friendly and attentive.

Finally a family-friendly restaurant/beer garden! Just for the reason that there is a trampoline, playground, sandpit with lots of toys,... we will come back. Unfortunately, it is far too rare in Germany. When the children are well occupied, the parents can enjoy the delicious food a lot more and are happy to linger a little longer. Service very friendly. The food was incredibly tasty and the portion was very large.

On a busy Sunday, the food was served quickly despite the tables being full. The staff was friendly and attentive. The dishes were freshly prepared and tasted convincing. Overall a positive impression, good service and delicious food.

Wir waren schon bei den alten Besitzer und es hat sich vieles positiv verändert. Jedoch muss man den jetzigen Besitzern ans Herz legen: Wenn man mit Familienfreundlichkeit und einem Spielplatz wirbt sollte man auch dafür sorgen, dass Spielgeräte renoviert oder erneuert werden. Die Spielgeräte, die schon vor vielen Jahren hier waren, fallen so langsam auseinander.

Seit die neuen Besitzer das Hotel/Restaurant übernommen haben, ist es super hier. Bestes Preis/Leistung-Verhältnis bei Essen, Service, Hotel. Kann man zu 100% empfehlen.

Had dinner here yesterday with the family (10 people). Luckily the table was fixed a week beforehand. First of all, the dishes were all top! The parking lot, like the interior of the restaurant, was packed with people, meaning it was difficult to have a conversation together without leaving your seat due to the noise in the interior. The initially attentive staff became increasingly hectic or inattentive as the evening progressed, so that the waiter had to wave to tell them to order drinks or a dessert. I can't say anything about the rooms in the hotel as there was no overnight stay. All in all, I can recommend Haus Sondermann, the menu is extensive and the price is definitely right. We'd love to come back.

We've stayed at Haus Sondermann several times. This time, unfortunately, we were unlucky. We had reserved two double rooms. Upon arrival, we were greeted rather rudely by a member of staff. We reported this to the manager at dinner and received a delicious dessert in return. Unfortunately, one room had only two single beds instead of a double bed, which we weren't informed of beforehand. The next morning, the hot water didn't work. We received a discount, but we probably won't be coming back.

We have only known the restaurant for many years. The food is good, prices are good, cleanliness is good, There are now enough parking spaces (but it wasn't summer, guest tables outside were not occupied). We'll definitely be back. Bye until then

I see this restaurant more as a place to take a break and eat something there. There are also overnight accommodations on site. You can eat well there, but I wouldn't necessarily go there specifically to eat. The dishes are tasty but nothing more, after which you don't have the urge to say "It was so delicious there, you should go there again". I was there with a group and unfortunately I have to say that I had a stomach ache overnight there. It could be an isolated case, but after asking one or two of those who were there, it was confirmed that it had to do with my stomach. According to his statement, a person was sometimes able to spend the night in the bathroom.

Went there for breakfast at a group party: tables were nicely set. The selection on the buffet was very good (only vegans should definitely make special arrangements). However, with our very large group it would have been better to double the buffet, i.e. set it up in two places, because the queue was very long and some of those waiting were already standing between the tables. The staff was attentive and very friendly.

We have had several celebrations there and were always satisfied. The food is good and the service is very courteous and friendly. There are enough parking spaces and accessibility is also ok.

Were there for dinner yesterday. The staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. I was looking forward to veal liver, Berlin style. When the food came I was very disappointed. The liver was drowned in a sauce with a few onions in it, that's not Berlin style, as a good restaurant you should know that. In addition, the sauce tasted like it came out of the bag, just like the pepper sauce that my husband ordered with his schnitzel. Very unfortunate

Despite personally reserving a table for a birthday dinner, we were denied the reserved table a week later. The staff was rude and pointed out to us that we had no right to the table... we were also rudely turned away when we later spoke to the owner. A reason for us not to visit Haus Sondermann in the future.

We were there on January 11th. Eating and incredibly disappointed for me as a Nevigese was the last time we all got cold food. Despite reservations, we were seated in the large hall which was still unheated because we had been forgotten

We were invited to friends' 50th birthdays and from Friday to Sunday at the Hotel Sondermann. The service upon arrival was super nice. We had a double room (No. 11), which was very spacious and clean. We had a double bed and an additional single bed available to us. Of course a cupboard and as an additional convenience, a small table with 2 chairs. There is also a bathroom including a shower. The breakfast was more than sufficient with sausage, cheese, boiled egg, orange juice, coffee and a variety of rolls/bread. We also used the restaurant. The menu offers something for every taste and our food was great, so we recommend the Hotel Sondermann in every respect. Many thanks again to the entire Hotel Sondermann team. Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant today was very disappointing. We were there with eight adults (one of them in a wheelchair) and two children, we made reservations in advance! As a wheelchair user, you can sit barrier-free either in the entrance area or in the large hall. After we were first offered to carry my mother up three steps in the wheelchair, which ended with the footrests coming off and her landing rather unceremoniously, we were seated in the large hall. The radiators were only turned on at this point, so it was pretty cold there and didn't get really warm during the entire stay. To clarify: We had previously called and clarified that we were coming with a wheelchair user! The food was also suitable in terms of temperature. The vegetables on all plates were cold and were only warmed by lukewarm sauce, the pasta on the children's plate was also cold and the steak on the last plate brought was half raw! Overall, we waited quite a long time for the food, which is probably why half of the dishes were cold. The robber plate for the smallest among us was not brought at all. After we commented on the cold vegetables, we were offered to bring new ones, which we politely declined because we wanted to at least eat the meat warm and not everything separately and one after the other. When we complained about the steak, we were also offered compensation, but we felt so rejected and unwanted that we actually just wanted to get home quickly (and cold). All in all, there were just far too many things that you don't want to ignore. Definitely the last visit there for us!

We've eaten there 4 or 5 times now... always disappointing, a shame. The goose is not good! It's nice and crispy, but there's a thick layer of fat under the skin, so it's not baked well. I think €34.90 without the baked apple, which costs extra. Far too many tables in the room and therefore far too loud, a total cafeteria feeling. 4 out of 10 meals arrive about 15 minutes later than the other meals. When we asked the waitress where the other four meals were left, since we actually wanted to eat together, the waitress replied, “He can only bring to the table what the kitchen puts out “ 🙈🙈🙈 Well, quite amusing in retrospect.

My rating goes to the restaurant. Nice service, very good food at fair prices. I really enjoyed it and would love to come over in the summer to eat outside in the beautiful surroundings.

There were around 23 people there. It's a new owner of the restaurant, at least for me. It was very crowded there. The service was very friendly, nice and helpful. Food was, I had home cooking, okay. You can't praise it but you can't complain either, so it's average. My wife had vegetarian food and was very satisfied. The others, as far as I felt, enjoyed it. That's why I can say that it is significantly better than its predecessor! In summary: food was good 👍, service was great 👍, price-performance ratio was completely okay. After the experience with the new owner, we would like to come back!

Der einzige Grund das Haus Sondermann noch zu besuchen ist das freundliche,hilfsbereites und kompetente Bedienungspersonal( Grösstenteils ) Das bestellte Schnitzel mit Balkansosse war ein Skandal. Mit einer Dicke von ca. 2 aufeinander liegenden Kochschinken Scheiben entspricht ca. 50 Gramm Fleisch das flach geklopft wurde mit wenig Soße und ein paar Pommes Fritte ohne Deko wie etwas Zitrone oder Salatgrün ohne Salatschale schlechter als in einer Imbissbude, aber für 17,90€ ein Reibachteller für den Inhaber, wenn man bedenkt das man für ein 160Gramm Schnitzel aus der Oberschale 1,20€ brutto im Supermarkt kaufen kann, man muss es dann natürlich selbst zubereiten, aber dann weiß man was man hat und muss sich nicht über die Gier anderer ärgern.

We stayed at Haus Sondermann with three families and were thrilled. The food was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly. The owner came to the table for a little chat, which we found very nice - a very open and friendly guy. The staff was equally welcoming, which made our visit particularly pleasant. The children's playground was particularly great for the children, where they could let off steam while we enjoyed the food. A real feel-good restaurant for the whole family!

Good service, nice outdoor area. Great, especially with smaller children, as there are play equipment. It's on my permanent favorites list.

For the second time under the new owner we went to Haus Sondermann for dinner. Reservations are recommended on weekends as it gets very busy. The waitress was attentive, but argued quite loudly with another waitress in front of our eyes and ears, which is not okay. To the essential, the food. The food was mostly quite good, for example stuffed minced steak or rump steak. The grill plate definitely needs improvement, as the meat was once again at least partially cooked. The portions can be described as large, any leftover food can be taken home in the bowls provided - very good. By the way, it is relatively loud in the winter garden, even though it is nice to look at - just for your information.

Beautifully located in the "Bergisches", between Velbert and Wuppertal, this restaurant is absolutely recommended. The new operators are passionate about offering guests a great stay that is not just limited to food and drink, but also offers a variety of opportunities for children to have fun. The food and the associated service can certainly be described as exceptional in these times. Rooms of various sizes are also available for private celebrations. Another advantage is a correspondingly large parking space. The prices for food and drinks can be classified as moderate for today's conditions. Always my pleasure!

The ambience is very nice and upscale. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing. We were there with 6 people and had reserved. After some confusion as to where we should sit, we were able to order straight away. Unfortunately, the ginger ale we ordered was mixed with water and the “homemade” spritzers were just industrial syrup with water, but we paid a lot for that per drink. Unfortunately, my husband's steak was completely fried and the potatoes and my pasta were drowned in oil. After a complaint there was no further response. We then tried dessert, which we waited 20 minutes for. But we pointed out that we would have to go home to see the child soon. There was also no response to this complaint afterwards. Because of all this, the service didn't seem very competent and rather annoyed if you didn't make a decision straight away. Unfortunately, the service and kitchen coordination was also poor. We had barely finished the starter when the waiters were already standing in front of the table with the main course. Unfortunately very disappointing. We were hoping that the food would be better with the new tenant.

For me personally, the food wasn't to my liking. Not only was the menu far too extensive, which suggests that a lot of convenience was used here, but unfortunately you could also taste it. The price of the dishes is also far too high considering the quality. The service staff was super nice, I'm happy to give it 5 stars for that. But I won't eat here anymore. I can get this quality cheaper in other places.
