What can you say about the best Greek far and wide?

I can highly recommend it. It's always nice there. The food was delicious, the service was very accommodating. If you can't manage the portion, you can take it with you. As I said, see for yourself. I definitely enjoy being a guest here.

First and foremost, the service was outstanding; rarely has a team taken such care of their guests. The food was also MEGA delicious and plentiful. The price is reasonable. We spontaneously drove by on Sunday because we were nearby. We were greeted warmly and then shown to our table. As we said, the staff was very friendly and attentive. We were asked if everything was OK Is or we still have any wishes. We would love to come back 😊

Unfortunately, dogs are not welcome, but there is no sign to that effect

The food tastes good, but other Greeks are even better. The gyros were too dry, the coleslaw was very bland and the dressing was definitely not homemade. Even though it's not exactly cheap. All in all it tastes good, but even better elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and nice.

We are very, very excited. Toller's staff, best boss - we wouldn't have gotten a place because everything was fully booked, but the boss made everything possible for us. We ate and drank excellently. We'll be back!!!

Although we called beforehand and pointed out our small dogs, we were parked in an absolutely unfriendly manner in the far corner of the empty restaurant and then disrespectfully rejected. We were happy to leave the restaurant and will certainly not be returning.

Very fitting atmosphere with very tasty Greek food, wine and ouzo. Extremely nice staff. Guests who didn't book in advance got a table even though the restaurant was fully booked promptly.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere that invites you to linger. The staff is super attentive and the dishes are a poem! I was particularly impressed by the gyros. Everything is absolutely fair in terms of price. I can only recommend it.

I was here as a tourist and I hesitated to stop here for a long time, simply because Greek also means a lot of calories.... And when I stood in front of it, I had doubts again... Simply because the entrance looks more like an industrial building or twenty Apartment bunker reminds of a restaurant.... But.... I can only recommend going further and eating here. It is absolutely worth it in all respects and I can only agree with the good reviews here. The food was absolutely excellent and so was the service. I can't think of anything that I would improve... Ok... Maybe gyros with 28 calories per hundred grams... But I think that will be really difficult... 😁

Went there spontaneously during the Downhill Cup and got a table for 6 people straight away. Extremely friendly and attentive service. Only one lady wasn't quite ready to take the drink order, but the wrong ones were promptly replaced. The food came quickly and was really good. Had a lovely evening.

Even after more than 20 years of existence, you are still warmly welcomed and unobtrusively looked after as if the restaurant had just opened.

Opening times until 11 p.m. and the restaurant operator compliments guests out of the restaurant at 10 p.m., pointing out that there is no more food or drink.

We had a very nice evening at Irodion :) They are very child-friendly, there is a nice children's menu that can also be colored in to keep them busy. The food was super tasty and reasonable for the price. Payment can be made both in cash and by card. We are super satisfied - especially with how welcoming everyone is there and are looking forward to the next visit :)

Well, it's OK, but the taste wasn't for me, I found the tzatziki too weak and the meat was too dry.

Very good Greek in a simple building, expectations of service and quality were more than exceeded, very attentive staff, special requests were implemented without hesitation. The lamb, liver and gyros as well as the potatoes with garlic are a delight. All of this has its price but is quite reasonable considering the quality and quantity. Please keep it up and a clear recommendation.

Update from February 17, 2024: Dogs are generally not welcome. Exceptions are, if at all, only made for a maximum of one small dog and may depend on the workload. I was told this when trying to make a reservation for 8 people as a regular customer. Guests without four-legged friends can expect warm and attentive service. The food is of a very good standard, including the house-style stir-fries. The portions are, in true Greek style, a challenge. The Irodion has been a fixture in Ilmenau for years and is therefore often fully booked more than a week in advance, especially on weekends.

Wir saßen an einem Tisch in der Ecke , so dass auch unserer Welpe es gemütlich hatte. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Danke dem ganzen Personal , die trotz vollem Restaurant hervorragend Arbeit leisteten.

Hatte Lammkotelett bestellt. Das Fleisch war sehr zäh und nicht genießbar. Alle auch die Kellner hatten mitbekommen, dass ich keine Chance hatte, das Fleisch zu essen. Das Menü war nicht gerade preiswert und man lächelte nur und speiste mich mit einem zusätzlichen Ouzo ab. Dort werde ich auf keinen Fall mehr Lamm bestellen.

Sind öfter im Hotel Ilmenauer Hof und gehen des öfteren ins Restaurant Irodion. Jeder Gast wird herzlich begrüßt und die Bestellung wird zeitnah bearbeitet. Preis ist annehmbar und liegt zwischen 20- 30 Euro.
