I've never eaten at such a delicious Greek restaurant before. Highly recommended.

The food and service are truly excellent. We were also very pleasantly surprised that our clothes didn't smell of food after our visit. Presumably, they have a very good ventilation system installed. Thank you. Reservations are necessary.

The welcome is always very friendly and warm, the food is delicious, and the service is never slow. There's usually far too much food, but you can take any leftovers home in containers provided by the restaurant. Upon arrival, you're asked if you'd like an ouzo, and again after paying. While I would appreciate a few more quieter areas, the ambiance is otherwise clean and well-maintained.

Absolutely amazing, tastes incredibly delicious, but way too much! The staff is super friendly and nice, I would go back here to eat again and again... absolutely fantastic, highly recommended!

The service was very friendly, and the food was perfectly fine. However, the ambiance was somewhat marred – quite literally – by the direct view of the restroom door. Given that I had reserved a table well in advance, I would have preferred a more pleasant and quieter setting.

Very tasty and decent portions for the price

We went there for dinner for my father's birthday. The staff was super hard-working, attentive, and very friendly. The food was plentiful; we packed the leftovers :-) Everything tasted very, very good. A restaurant that has been in Ilmenau for ages and was/is very popular. We'd love to go back :-) and keep up the good work.

This is the best Greek restaurant for miles around. The food is of very good quality. I've been to several Greek restaurants, but they have the best food and the best liver! The vegetarian dishes are also very varied and incredibly delicious. The staff is very friendly, always available, and very attentive to their guests. I always have special requests, and they've always been accommodated, sometimes even with an unexpected touch.

Everything is fresh and delicious, the portions are large, and you can refill anything you want. You experience typical Greek hospitality and feel very comfortable! We'd be happy to come back anytime!

It's really very good. A bit expensive but worth it

If you're really hungry and want to eat well, the Iridion is the perfect place. The portions are very generous, but whatever you don't finish, you can take home! The service is very friendly; you feel like you're eating with friends rather than at a restaurant... We've been eating at the Iridion for many years now and will continue to do so for many more years to come!

Solid Greek restaurant. Service is super efficient and effective. The food was good, but there are better Greek restaurants out there.

I'm happy to give this place 5 stars in all categories. We were here as tourists and were given a super friendly welcome by all the staff. The service here was consistently top-notch. The restaurant itself has a great interior, with lovely tables and benches. The atmosphere is very comfortable. With our drink order, we immediately ordered an ouzo. The food was delicious. A fresh salad preceded it. From gyros to minced steaks and lamb, with fries. It was a truly lovely evening. Ilmenau is fortunate to have such a Greek restaurant. Today was “Tuesday” shortly before 6 p.m. and I decided to go Greek. I found this on Google. I was totally surprised, the restaurant was already half full, but I still got a very good seat. Very friendly welcome and all the service staff were very friendly and always very accommodating. The first beer and the ouzo were served very quickly. This meant I could quickly decide to place an order. First there was grilled pepperoni and then the Irodion Mix plate. The portion was very sufficient and tasted very good. I was very impressed and will definitely come back.

You should be able to give more than 5 stars here. Super tasty food, large portions and the entire service team is fantastic.

What can you say about the best Greek far and wide?

I can highly recommend it. It's always nice there. The food was delicious, the service was very accommodating. If you can't manage the portion, you can take it with you. As I said, see for yourself. I definitely enjoy being a guest here.

First and foremost, the service was outstanding; rarely has a team taken such care of their guests. The food was also MEGA delicious and plentiful. The price is reasonable. We spontaneously drove by on Sunday because we were nearby. We were greeted warmly and then shown to our table. As we said, the staff was very friendly and attentive. We were asked if everything was OK Is or we still have any wishes. We would love to come back 😊

The food tastes good, but other Greeks are even better. The gyros were too dry, the coleslaw was very bland and the dressing was definitely not homemade. Even though it's not exactly cheap. All in all it tastes good, but even better elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and nice.

Although we called beforehand and pointed out our small dogs, we were parked in an absolutely unfriendly manner in the far corner of the empty restaurant and then disrespectfully rejected. We were happy to leave the restaurant and will certainly not be returning.

We were passing through and stopped here. We were very positively surprised. A very friendly and courteous staff, delicious food and generous portions. The price/performance ratio is still right here.

I was here as a tourist and I hesitated to stop here for a long time, simply because Greek also means a lot of calories.... And when I stood in front of it, I had doubts again... Simply because the entrance looks more like an industrial building or twenty Apartment bunker reminds of a restaurant.... But.... I can only recommend going further and eating here. It is absolutely worth it in all respects and I can only agree with the good reviews here. The food was absolutely excellent and so was the service. I can't think of anything that I would improve... Ok... Maybe gyros with 28 calories per hundred grams... But I think that will be really difficult... 😁

Went there spontaneously during the Downhill Cup and got a table for 6 people straight away. Extremely friendly and attentive service. Only one lady wasn't quite ready to take the drink order, but the wrong ones were promptly replaced. The food came quickly and was really good. Had a lovely evening.

Even after more than 20 years of existence, you are still warmly welcomed and unobtrusively looked after as if the restaurant had just opened.

Opening times until 11 p.m. and the restaurant operator compliments guests out of the restaurant at 10 p.m., pointing out that there is no more food or drink.

We had a very nice evening at Irodion :) They are very child-friendly, there is a nice children's menu that can also be colored in to keep them busy. The food was super tasty and reasonable for the price. Payment can be made both in cash and by card. We are super satisfied - especially with how welcoming everyone is there and are looking forward to the next visit :)

Well, it's OK, but the taste wasn't for me, I found the tzatziki too weak and the meat was too dry.

Very good Greek in a simple building, expectations of service and quality were more than exceeded, very attentive staff, special requests were implemented without hesitation. The lamb, liver and gyros as well as the potatoes with garlic are a delight. All of this has its price but is quite reasonable considering the quality and quantity. Please keep it up and a clear recommendation.

Update from February 17, 2024: Dogs are generally not welcome. Exceptions are, if at all, only made for a maximum of one small dog and may depend on the workload. I was told this when trying to make a reservation for 8 people as a regular customer. Guests without four-legged friends can expect warm and attentive service. The food is of a very good standard, including the house-style stir-fries. The portions are, in true Greek style, a challenge. The Irodion has been a fixture in Ilmenau for years and is therefore often fully booked more than a week in advance, especially on weekends.

We love being here. The staff is warm, the food is plentiful and delicious. Children's card to color in and take with you
