The worst Indian food we ever experienced, its fake India hotel. We ordered chiken biriyani, chole batura, butter chicken, tea and sprite. Each of them was horrible. Even didn’t had salt or any flavor.

Quick-eyed waiter and very committed owner, we always like to come back.

For three travelling Brits who love a curry, this delivered a refreshing change to dishes that are a staple on the menu. Great service and delicious food.

The owner may had a bad day but was rude to us from the beginning. Not coming back again.

On Hegelallee there are several side streets that form a small semicircular square. In one of these places you can find the tables of India Haus Potsdam. I'm not a real expert on the cuisine of this subcontinent, but I am convinced by the quality of the food in this restaurant. Everything tasted good. The service is friendly and quick. Can you go there?

India Haus on Hegelstrasse is great! You sit quietly in the shade or inside and are served very attentively. The dishes are really wholesome and exceptionally prepared. India is different - and yet the visit was like coming home!

The loveliest people ever and the best vegetarian food (especially anything with paneer) 🙏 I'll always come back, even if just for bhatura and a mango lassi 🩷

Small portions, salad plate was only 1 leaf (a joke), starter soup was fine, main course was small, quality was ok, location on a busy street, outside decoration was partly broken, service was nice. Not particularly great overall, average. Value for money is not really given.

The ambience is generally not bad. Unfortunately, when it's dark it's hard to see your food outside under the parasols because there's no light. We were given naan bread which tasted very sour and which stopped us from eating it. We were worried that things were no longer good here. Unfortunately the service was not very professional and friendly. Finally, it was pointed out that you hadn't given a tip with the sentence “Always stay nice” and a very intrusive smile. At the next table, the waitress made comments to our group while we were cashing out, so we heard them. It's a shame because the shop is in a good location and the ambience could also be nice.

I have a responsibility to bring the store's rating down to a level where it belongs. 4.4 stars. Absolutely undeserved. Definitely not recommended. But 4.4 will lure people there only to be disappointed. Beware of the tourist spot. Large mango lassi is 0.33, tastes like milk. Mango almost non-existent. They didn't work with yoghurt but rather milk. impudence Butter chicken tasted like ketchup sauce, like a sweet dish. Way too sweet. Ketshup has no place there. Spices not noticeable. Absolute fail. Fried bread was too chewy, solid, didn't taste fresh, sour aftertaste, as if butter was changed too rarely. Everything that makes for good quality Indian food was saved here. Completely messed up. It's too cheeky to offer something like that. Prices are of course high like everywhere else. But it's not worth it. Not even average, just bad. I'm sorry, but more people don't have to fall for it, so be merciless honesty

The food was tasty. When paying, the staff asked for an 8% tip.

+ Ambience very nice + lots of choice + Lunch offer - Food was just ok - there is a vegan menu that is NOT vegan! I ordered a dish for lunch and decided against the lunch special because I wanted bread and salad. The salad was a tomato, a gurney and a bit of corn and a YOGURT SAUCE. The bread that was served with it was made with BUTTER and MILK - none of that is vegan. Please label it accordingly and do not offer it. Plus, since I couldn't eat it, I asked for a price reduction because the lunch I only got would be half the price on offer. The service said it wasn't possible and I had to pay the full price. The boss would not be there and therefore it cannot be canceled. I don't think it's entirely fair that the table next to me pays more than half less for the same meal and I'm served food that doesn't correspond at all to what's on the menu.

Offered is mid-day dish of your choice from the menu at a reduced price, the problem is, the dishes are pre-served on a plate, lots of rice and very little meat, it looks like a good deal but it is NOT 👎 Parahta bread was swimming in fat, and the bread included in the menu never came?? 👎

Nice place to sit, food is average. We've had better Indian food. The drinks took time. The service was friendly.

Went to dinner shortly before the Jerermias concert. Absolutely high level service. Incredibly great conversations with the waiters. Enjoy your meal. Great tables and decoration. Spicy and mild food and Indian friendliness. We recommend. They were very full and slightly tipsy but the mango schnapps was also great. You definitely have to try it. This is not an Indian restaurant. Could be run by people from neighboring countries. The staff wasn’t friendly and food quality wasn’t as good as the google reviews I checked before visiting. Definitely not going anytime soon.

Wonderfully sunny terrace in the evening, partial shade if desired. The fluffiest, golden paneer pakoras of my life. The rest is also very tasty.

The food is quite ok for the price. This side salad consisting of 1 leaf, 1 slice of cucumber, 1 slice of tomato is ridiculous and petty, I think you can leave it out completely or put a real one there.

If you have celiac or lactose intolerance- DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! We asked our waiter in both German and English several times if the dish contains gluten or lactose, we were told it was safe for celiacs. IT MOST DEFINITELY WASNT SAFE FOR PPL WITH CELIAC. Not even two hours after we left I already started to have side effects to eating gluten that stayed with me and my partner for the rest of the day. The food wasn’t good but also dangerous for people with gluten intolerance. I don’t recommend this place and if I could have given this place ZERO stars but it’s not an option

Waiting time for the food: 1.5 hours, we were put off again and again, according to the staff there were problems in the kitchen, that has to improve, otherwise the reputation will suffer!

Well located restaurant with outdoor seating. At the beginning we were served quickly, but if you hope that someone will ask you once in a while, you're wrong. The salad that came with the main course was announced, but never found its way to us. The Bhatura was the worst we have ever had at an Indian restaurant. The main courses were lukewarm and tasted no more than okay. Unfortunately, the chicken leg wasn't cooked through on the inside. The waitress is not at all interested in whether everything was okay or whether it even tasted good.

Unfortunately, this was a restaurant visit that could have been avoided. The waiters seem slightly overwhelmed and inattentive, but they were moderately friendly Unfortunately the food was less than ok, the chicken legs had a strange taste and weren't cooked properly. But our starter was good, as was the mango spritzer. The batura bread was the worst thing we have ever eaten. No questions were asked as to whether the food was tasty or why we left so much of it, unfortunately we didn't receive the side salad, although we were asked whether we had already received one and said no. It's a shame because we both like Indian food.

The menu and food here are excellent. The dishes are a good size and the restaurant is very nice inside. The prices are also good and the service is efficient. So why only 2 stars….?? The evening was spoilt when it came to paying the bill. The waiter was insistent that I have to pay a tip, to the point of almost starting an argument. “Is it mandatory” I asked. “It’s kind of the law” was the exact response. I don’t think so!!! This kind of aggressive approach to customers to try and force a few more euro might be ok in India/Bangladesh/Pakistan, but it’s not ok in Potsdam. Will I eat here again? Because of the disgraceful attitude of the waiter, probably not. But the food is good so I’ll stick to takeaway.

Great restaurant! The service was super fast, despite it being a Friday evening. The food was very good. The Chicken Madras is advertised as “spicy” on the menu, but (unfortunately) it wasn’t spicy at all. There is definitely still a lot going on. It's nice and central to sit outside, but still quiet. We can highly recommend it

One of the worst fish biryani I have ever eaten, just so many things with zero flavor, only heavy oil. Most expensive restaurant in the area but the worstest taste.

There were two of us and we ordered a platter for two people. The food was mediocre. The menu included a dessert, but it never came to us. We waited for half an hour (the restaurant wasn't even half full) and no one came. When I went to pay the waiter wanted to charge me the full price. Only after repeated inquiries did he reluctantly agree to a price reduction. A whole €3 even though 2 of the desserts would have cost a total of €9.80 according to the menu. This restaurant is definitely not recommended!!!

Ordered butter chicken. While I was waiting, my drink, a small salad and papadum with a choice of three sauces arrived quickly. The waiter's tip about what the hot sauce is was very good. The wait took a while, things seemed to be going slowly in the kitchen, but it was okay. Then: Butter Chicken. The rice was nice and fluffy, compliments. Batura (part of the dish like the salad and papadam!) was good, butter chicken itself was too sweet for my taste, but the chicken was soft and tender as it should be! Still good for the price, especially since you don't have to order Batura separately. Service friendly and attentive, location good, ambience outside okay. A little tip to the restaurant: just white plates are boring, so you could invest in something colorful! Overall a stable 3.7 points!

Very good restaurant. I've been there twice now at a somewhat close distance and I have to say, very good food. The service was very good, the prices were fair and the taste was even better. If anyone is looking for a place to have a good Indian meal, this is the place to be!

Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our food and would have liked some information about this. The lunch offer was also very misleading and was only available upon express verbal advice. The quality of the food was good, especially the bread.

Missed orders, wrong order provided, too much waiting time for everything. On top of it, the dishes were not that good. The staff said there is no mittagsmenu when I went on a Friday but apparently she was wrong. Others ordered the mittagsmenu after us.

HORRIBLE experience! The waiter named "Ajmal" was very unprofessional. There were traces of hair and he didn't care about it. He just made sure to make the experience horrible. There was a long waiting time for the food. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. If anything, I will always advise against this idea.

We ate well at normal prices. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was appealing. The Merlot was really good, the Cabernet Sauvignon is not recommended.

This absolutely cozy place.Ambience is super, vibrant decorations. But it was sad, the food taste Sour.We ordered Roghan Josh Chicken Masala.I have never seen chicken masala taste that sour.The breads were super! Chapatti and Sadha paratha Taste authentic Indian. Service was under 2 out of 10. Waiter doesn’t have much knowledge about the dishes.We asked about dish and bread they couldn’t give any clue about the dish.That was surprising! We went in Mittags, the mittags Portion was too small.If they provide that small they can increase the price and make the portion little large. After getting food, we tried order extra rice and bread. The women and waiter took 10 minutes to come to the table.We got the bread soo late.She is busy with sweet conversations with some guests.Another waiter was doing very best, running from one corner to another corner.It was not good experience.It took too long just to pay the bill also.

The food was okay but unhygienic traces of hair were found. But the service and atmosphere of the restaurant was horrible. The waiter named Ajmal was quiet rude and unprofessional. We were served really late. The entire management of the restaurant was terrible. We had a bizarre experience.

Der Service war wirklich gut. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste, die draußen saßen und wurden dennoch sehr aufmerksam bedient. Leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bei den vegetarischen Gerichten garnicht. Eine Viertel Aubergine mit ein bisschen dünner Sauce für 13€!!! Unverschämt. Das Bhatura-Brot war das schlechteste, was wir je bei einem Inder gegessen haben.

No recommendation! Service good, food expensive and not tasty. The service was really good. We were the only guests sitting outside and were still served very attentively. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio for the vegetarian dishes is not right at all. A quarter of eggplant with a bit of thin sauce for 13€!!! Outrageous. The Bhatura bread was the worst thing we have ever eaten from an Indian.

It was quite crowded, so it took a while for our food to arrive, but the service was very lovely and food delicious. We had a reservation, and the restaurant was basically full from what I could see. The seats are pretty cozy, but there's enough room for privacy still. Would go again, possibly at a less busy time. We loved gulab jamun, which reminds me of a favorite dessert as a kid.

Mittagsmenü ist von der Qualität schlecht. Suppe ist wässrig, Bedienung unfreundlich. Schade. Aber die Lage ist toll.

Die Qualität des Mittagsmenü hat leider sehr abgenommen, sehr dünne Sauce mit wenig Gemüse. Der Raum war zudem kalt. Schade, ich habe das Restaurant, vor allem die Küche immer sehr geschätzt.

Mittagsmenü nicht empfehlenswert, sehr minimalistische Portionen. Dafür nicht indisch gewürzt sondern eher süsslich und bei den Malai Kofta nur Kartoffeln und viel zu viel Kokos in den Gemüsebällchen und der Sosse als Gemüse. Der Yogitee ist sehr teuer mit 2,90 Euro und wahrscheinlich mit Zucker zusätzlich gesüßt ( sehr süß). Die Bedienung war nett und zuvorkommend.

We liked the restaurant, we ordered duck and lamb. The meat was cooked perfectly. The rice was not quite good to my taste. But in any case we were satisfied. The staff is courteous and polite.

Good and friendly service. The food was a bit below the average, not so tasty and lacking spices. The naan bread tasted stiff, thick and a bit cold. In general, the food was prepared as if not much effort was put to make it.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und es hat uns sehr gefallen. Waren an einem Samstag-Nachmittag da. Der Service war nett und angenehm zurückhaltend. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionsgrößen angemessen. Preislich fanden wir es auch angemessen. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Fuimos a este restaurante de casualidad después de visitar todos los palacios, así que estábamos hambrientos. Llegamos a tiempo para coger la oferta de los platos a buen precio (antes de las 16h, había oferta en platos principales). Nos pedimos 3 platos vegetarianos, pan naan y samosas. Los platos vegetarianos estaban buenos pero les faltaba cantidad, el pan delicioso y las samosas me decepcionaron.

Bad boring Indian food. Just don’t. The prices are normal for this type of restaurant but for the flavor, then it should be half. The food is just tasteless. Service was friendly, although we ordered vegan dishes and they kept on bringing non vegan sides to the table. So it felt like they barely understood what vegan food is or didn’t pay attention. However the food was a bit better by adding a pinch of salt, yet not really tasty… kann Mann essen…

Für Potsdam faire Preise, Essen richtig lecker. Die Mittagspreise und Gerichte sind absolut top.

Wir waren wieder mal auf der Suche nach glutenfreien Essen und da ist Indisches essen oft eine sichere Wahl. Was uns hier noch zusätzlich Sicherheit gab war das auf der Karte Gluten gut ausgewiesen war und man hier uns auch Auskunft geben konnte. Wir saßen draußen und es wsr wirklich schön hier zu sitzen trotz der nicht so weit entfernten Straße. Und das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und meine Freundin hat auch alles gut vertragen, ist nicht immer so.

Wir waren wirklich absolut happy. Wir mussten überhaupt nicht lange warten, obwohl es sehr voll war. Das Essen was sehr lecker und vor allem das Hähnchen war sehr zart und weich. Die Preise sind auch voll in Ordnung gewesen und der Service war wirklich richtig gut. Die Kellner waren sehr freundlich und hatten immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht.

Wir sind immer wieder gerne im India Haus an der Hegelallee. Meistens essen wir das Butter-Chicken, Chicken-Jukni, Chilli-Chicken oder Mango Chicken. Alles sehr lecker.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und es würde sich stets Mühe gegeben. Das Essen war wirklich lecker, sind schon mehrmals dort gewesen und es war jedes Mal richtig gut. Das Ambiente ist Gut aber nichts besonderes, es ist kein Kobel Restaurant, sondern eher etwas einfach gehalten, dafür hat der Geschmack des Essens und das freundliche Personal umso mehr überzeugt.

Gutes indisches Essen direkt in Potsdam. Die Portionen sind großzügig bemessen. Die Tische stehen im Restaurant sehr nah. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Der Service ist Klasse.

Das Essen war sehr gut, Preis/Leistung stimmt definitiv! Allerdings wurde anfangs ein Essen vergessen, weswegen der Rest gewartet hat. Beim abräumen wurde vom Kellner Besteck fallen gelassen wodurch ein Glas kaputt gemacht wurde, die Scherben flogen unter anderem auch in ein Bier. Kann passieren... allerdings wurde das Bier nicht ersetzt und auch keine "Entschuldigung" o.ä. gebracht...

Leckere Speisen und super freundliche Bedienung. Es hat mir gut geschmeckt und ich werde bestimmt wieder kommen.

Taste was fine. Service was good. Good ambience. Prices are very much comparable with Berlin city, and not on the lower side. Portion size was good enough. There is another restaurant just a few blocks away with same name which is misleading, food in the other one was really bad!
