Fresh food, friendly service, excellent value for money, and easily accessible in Potsdam. Good tandoori and I recommend the vegetable appetizer platter in tempura batter.

We arrived there very hungry, and went home completely full and satisfied. The Naan Bhatura and the Mushroom Paneer were especially delicious. I loved it! As a parting gift, we were given a complimentary shot of schnapps. And we were even able to have our leftovers packed up to take with us. =)

Simply a fantastic restaurant. Highly recommended. My birthday was almost ruined due to a mistake at another restaurant. Luckily, Sagar was able to spontaneously organize something for 13 people. The service was outstanding; 5 stars aren't really enough. Since I've never been to India, I can't really speak to the authenticity of the food. What I can say is that it was fantastically prepared. My Chicken Korma was perfectly seasoned for me, with buttery-tender pieces of chicken that made chewing in the mouth obsolete. Truly a delight. The ambiance is also great, although a bit too much for me, but still very successful. That's where the purist comes in. Still, I give it 4/5.

Great restaurant. Lovely outdoor terrace. You can tell the food is fresh and cooked with fresh ingredients. I've rarely eaten so well. The only downside is the location, as it's on a main road.

We ate there, and everything was actually fine. The service was really good, etc. - BUT - we left a ton of money there and walked a bit after eating. After about an hour and a half, we went back there briefly because we needed to use the restroom. Despite tipping us €14 beforehand, we each had to pay another €2 because we needed to use the restroom. That's just not right, folks!

We ordered food home. After the delivery still hadn't arrived after more than 1 1/2 hours (with a delivery time of 25 minutes), we contacted the restaurant. We were then confirmed that the food would be there in 2 minutes. After 15 minutes without delivery we contacted the restaurant again. They then wanted to get back to us. Unfortunately, after a response was pending, we had to call again and were then informed that no delivery had been received. The issue was settled for the restaurant. We will never eat or order anything there again.

Simply disappointing, we ordered online, after several calls to assure us that the order was on its way, we were then told that the order had never been received. We'll get the money back. Never again Sagar in Potsdam or Fahrland

I feel like nausea even before I step foot on the doorstep. It's unbelievable that the health department hasn't ordered a closure yet. I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like, what it smells like, or what it smells like. The basement has been flooded several times due to the clogged grease trap. The stench is unbearable. Anyone who still eats here might as well take a laxative.

I've been to Sagar several times and each time the service was nice, the dishes were delicious and the beautiful interior, all of which combined with not high prices made a very pleasant impression. There is also a decent selection of vegetarian dishes. Thanks to the whole Sagar team and good luck

We ate there several times years ago and were always satisfied. Today we had our food delivered. The order included the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and Shahi Panir (cream cheese in cream sauce). The garlic naan was super tasty. Unfortunately, the sauce from the butter chicken and shahi paneer was very sweet so I only ate the cheese. Otherwise the staff is very nice and I like the atmosphere.

After hours of waiting and calling our delivery never even turned up. The guy on the phone isn’t interested in helping. Very dismissive and basically hung up on me twice.

I have eaten and ordered here several times. The selection of delicious dishes is large and the friendly staff ensures that I feel comfortable every time.

We are here often. The cocktails are super tasty and super cheap during the daily happy hour (€4.9). The service is always very attentive and the food is delicious.

Dear Diary, I have been living and working here in Potsdam for 3 years. Since then I have welcomed the hospitable nature of Indians. Again and again I welcome the culinary delight of picking flowers inside and the taste roller coaster ride at Sagar. There is one small drawback, however. The lighting on the boiler stops working after 20 seconds and you remain in the dark like photos in a darkroom. A small mistake in a system full of happiness and joy. May your business last long and yield good profits. If my mother-in-law didn't get any intestinal problems, a recommendation would be out of the question. See you next time

So far we have always ordered food there and had it delivered and have always been very enthusiastic about the delicious food, so we had to eat there. Just like the food, the service and the ambience are simply top and I can highly recommend it. Parking is the only thing that gave me a bit of a headache, but there is actually some there.

This used to be one of the best indian restaurants in Potsdam. Not sure if they changed the owners or what, but the quality has really gone down; of the food, of the service, everything in general. the old staff is not there anymore so i am assuming there was a change of ownership. Food was pretty poor and the bathura was also very average. The restaurant was pretty empty so am assuming they have lost many of their customers. It was a ghost town

I ordered food home. Everything was cold, arrived 20 minutes late. Chiken Pakora was soggy and went into the trash. The Mutton Massala could still be saved in the microwave. There was no bread this time either. I won't order anything there again.

The Sagar has to compete with a lot of other Indian restaurants in Potsdam (some of which even have the same name), but it has been able to hold its own for quite a long time and after I ordered there a few times and was always very satisfied, I wanted to try it there too to eat out. The location looks nice and has a small garden where you can sit in the summer. However, I was inside with my wife and it was comfortable there too. Everything seemed very clean, with two exceptions: the toilets were uninviting and some of the syrup used for the cocktails had been expired for years. With syrup, which consists mostly of sugar, this is certainly not a huge problem, but it is still noticeable when you sit right next to the counter and is probably a sign that the cocktails are not bought very often here. We still had two and they were fine - just about what you would expect from cocktails at an Indian restaurant. Something unusual: there was no free papadam with sauces, as is the case with most Indians in Germany, but rather the side salad. For me it was absolutely average. The starters, on the other hand, were both very tasty. I had blem cabbage pakora, which had relatively little breading, was cut a little smaller and wasn't fried for as long, so the cauliflower was a little crunchier. It's certainly a matter of taste, but I liked it that way. There was also mint sauce (it was good) and tamarind sauce (a bit watery), but unfortunately no hot sauce. My wife had Samosa Chat which was a type of samosa with my yogurt, tomato and chickpea sauce. I haven't found this anywhere on the menu yet and it tasted absolutely great. For my main course I had paneer from the tandoor. It came as a kind of skewer with tomatoes, peppers and onions. Overall very good, but a little weakly seasoned for my taste. My wife had lamb from the tandoor, which was again very well seasoned, but a bit tough and dry. So that the rice didn't get too dry with two tandoor dishes, there was also a spicy sauce, which was actually a little spicy and tasted very good. As side dishes we had bathura and one of the best garlic naans I've had so far - respect for that. Sometimes Indians give Bathura for free - but not here. I ordered mixed pickles as a dip and they were fine. They definitely tasted homemade and went in a different direction than I was used to - almost tasted a little like salsa. At the end there was the bill and two mango liqueurs on the house. The service was nice all the time. Overall we were satisfied. In some areas (starter, naan) I was even very positively surprised. Unfortunately there were 1-2 little things that could be improved, but I'll definitely come back again.

Worst experience we have ever had with a restaurant. We ordered "Mutton Broccoli" and "Lamb Singapore" and regretted both. The Lamb Singapore was inedible and looked like tomato soup from a can. Coconut milk and coriander were not present in the sauce or at least not to be tasted, and it wasn't spicy either The dish Mutton Broccoli didn't taste like anything. We've never had such bad food in a restaurant.

Ordered food, waited 2 hours. I was told on the phone that the driver would be there in a few minutes. Waited another hour, called again. Guy on the phone says he'll call again. The callback never comes, nor does the food. Waited almost 4 hours for nothing. It's okay if it's late. Then lying twice when asked over the phone and not delivering the food you paid for is not ok.

The garlic bread was awesome. Staff was super friendly. Added to this is the super delicious food. I had the butter chicken and it was so tender that I didn't even notice it was simply delicious.

Indian restaurant opposite the Gothic Library. The prices are a positive surprise, apart from the city's high-priced restaurants. 8 people, we ate and drank well in the evening, only 300 euros, 05 liters of beer 4.50 euros. The food is excellent, a large selection, the portions are sufficient, the service - we didn't have to wait long for the drinks and food - is very good. Sitting outside is very comfortable. We'll definitely be back. A real recommendation with best regards and many thanks to the entire team.

Very good Indian cuisine! Each of the different soups is a delight. A 91-year-old person ate red lentil soup there for the first time in his life and was thrilled. Despite all the differences, the meat dishes we have chosen so far have always been very tender. A business lunch (until 4 p.m.!) with small soup and lamb (Lamm Juckni) is available for €8.90, with chicken for €7.90. The Lassies are particularly successful, both the salty version and the one with mango. The decor inside with lots of tables is folkloric and what you would expect from an Indian restaurant. You sit very well. Service is provided by friendly Indian staff. The outdoor area, with a number of tables and umbrellas providing shade, suffers somewhat from its location at a busy intersection.

We were in this restaurant again this Saturday. In the early evening there was a rather manageable number of guests. Although you are actually at a very busy intersection, sitting in the beer garden in front of the door is very comfortable. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. The waiting time was relatively short. We were thrilled with the food, although the tendency in this restaurant tends to be towards spicier spices. Rice is available for free. In any case, we were full. And the final cocktails were also impressive. Overall, a very satisfactory performance!

I went there for lunch on Friday and I liked the location and ambiance. The service was rather quick and not a surprise since I was the only customer at the time, but the waiting staff did not seem particularly eager to serve me. The portion was very small and I left as hungry as I had entered the place. The taste of the food was alright but not as spicy as advertised and I was almost done by the time I could get their attention. They provided some hot sauce which was good and helped but then again I had almost finished my meal by that point.

We thought we'd order somewhere else and give another place a chance. Wrong thought!!! The delivery time was ok and everything was there, but unfortunately we were delivered the worst Indian food we had ever eaten. All dishes (lamb and chicken) were completely bland and consisted mainly of quite watery sauce. The meat was not fresh, just warmed up molded meat. We will never order there again. I would prefer not to give a star. This is an absolute disgrace!!

We had ordered food for Thursday evening several hours in advance. In between we called the restaurant twice and were assured that the driver would be there in a few minutes. After waiting for 2 hours, we put our disappointed children to bed. The food never arrived! The joint birthday dinner fell through! We will demand our money back and never order from this restaurant again.

Good Indian restaurant at fair prices.

My food was okay, but unfortunately not tasty. The eggplant wasn't done. The cashew sauce already had a “top”. I had to pay in cash, no reasons were given and the next table accepted card payment.

You had read about cocktails in other reviews, but they weren't listed anywhere on the menu. Maybe these are only offered in summer? It was also stuffy and low in oxygen in the restaurant. It quickly made a mess. Overall still recommended. Okay in terms of price-performance.

I ordered a mixed grill plate. The meat was very well seasoned and extremely tender. I have rarely eaten meat so well. Absolute recommendation!
