Yesterday, for my husband's birthday, we visited you with our daughters and son-in-law and were looking forward to a lovely time with our loved ones. Your location is beautiful—no complaints there. The appetizers we chose... highly recommended. The penne... very delicious... my family loved it. I had the Schnitzel Verdura. The schnitzel and vegetables... very good, but the fried potatoes (this has happened twice now)... weren't crispy—some were completely soggy. Now for the service... it was so bad... you absolutely must work on that!!! We ate the delicious appetizers and then had dirty dishes sitting in front of us for ages. Just so you know: there weren't many guests!!! The female servers were carrying chairs around, wiping tables upstairs (where there were no guests), placing new candles in the designated glasses... clearing away used dishes? Forget it. Then our main courses arrived... and the dirty appetizer dishes were still in front of us. We pushed them aside, otherwise there wouldn't have been room for the clean plates (which were finally taken away). I was already considering helping the two "overwhelmed girls." I'm not one to complain, but... this kind of service is unacceptable. We are always happy to generously reward good service – but yesterday there was no tip. Please pass these points of criticism on to the team.

We always enjoy going to Original Köndringen. The food was excellent once again and served quickly. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

I used to eat there, and it was much better back then. The food was bland, lacking flavor and seasoning; you had to add salt to everything. The server didn't ask if everything was okay. The price-performance ratio is completely off now. It's a shame, really; I used to enjoy going there, and the location was great too.

The service was good and very friendly. The food was okay, but nothing more than okay. The strips of beef steak on the pasta were completely burnt. The sauce was rather watery. On the positive side, the criticism was received politely and a replacement dish was offered. Furthermore, a discount was granted without being asked. In conclusion: the kitchen definitely has room for improvement, but overall it's a nice place with friendly staff.

The online reservation process was seamless. The service was incredibly friendly. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection, just as I'd ordered it. We'll definitely be back.

After a long time, we went back to the original restaurant for a meal, but unfortunately, we again experienced abysmal service from the staff. We find the ambiance and the food wonderful. We used to go there very often; where have all the great service staff gone?

We ate there today, and I ordered a salad with strips of pork tenderloin. The few pieces were so dry and unseasoned. I pointed this out to the server, and we actually wanted to continue eating. But no, she had to take the salad away; it would have been enough to bring a plate with some fresh meat. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat together because my salad arrived ages later.

Flammkuchen are really good. Other dishes aren't really my thing.

I was really looking forward to the cheese fondue... Freshly grated cheese... delicious cheese fondue... But why does the cheese come in bags, like the kind you can buy ready-made in stores? And then at that price of over €20 per person?

Absolutely disgusting! We both ordered salads and found a cockroach or some other beetle in one of them, which was just revolting! We told the server, of course, and thankfully didn't have to pay for the salad, but we didn't receive any kind of apology. That was definitely our last visit there.

Beautiful location with terrible service. It would have been okay that we weren't greeted and ignored. But the fact that we didn't even get a menu after 15 minutes (despite repeated requests) is unacceptable. The QR code for the menu didn't work either, as it was so worn and therefore illegible. The menu page on the website was also inactive. It was all very unprofessional. I can't comment on the food, as it never even came that far. But since we were sitting right next to the kitchen and had plenty of time to watch, we could see that several finished meals were sitting at the counter for a very long time before the waiter finally brought them to our tables.

All in all, a great restaurant with a somewhat hidden spot and not much parking, but a nice outdoor area with a playground for the kids. I don't think anyone has ever thought of converting an old greenhouse. The idea is good and the execution even better. The restrooms were very large, which really surprised me, and they are tidy and clean too. The food is really fantastic, but the wait was really not great. We waited about 2 hours with a group of 22 people until the food finally arrived. My colleague ordered a vegan dish and it was just a few pieces of meat. She figured it out, but you should be more careful. For almost 900 euros, you can expect it. Otherwise, the service was really nice, funny and attentive.

It's definitely worth a visit. The ambiance is simply special. There's even a playground outside for younger guests. The food is generally excellent. The cocktails are also highly recommended. The prices are reasonable.

When I came home after dinner I realized the amount we paid for our food was probably wrong (too high). We did not get the bill in the restaurant, but were offered the pin machine for card payment showing the total amount already. My 2 emails and 2 whatsapp messages to inquire about this have not been answered unfortunately.

A very nice restaurant with a great atmosphere

Since 2016, "Im Original" has been one of our favorite restaurants. Whether for breakfast or dinner, after a total of 52 visits, our satisfaction is self-evident. Whether it's à la carte or special requests, almost every wish is fulfilled with consistent friendliness.

A restaurant with a difference. The greenhouse has plenty of space, a wonderful ambiance, and everything is well-maintained. The food is delicious and, at least at breakfast, is very well served. We will definitely go there again on our next visit to the region.

Very good food unfortunately a bit noisy environment

We've been coming here for years, and the quality and taste are just like the first day. We're coming back for the last time on September 17, 2025. The condition is unfriendly, and it's not going to work anymore. We were told after 15 minutes that the weather was nice on the terrace, but we weren't served. Then we went inside, but now others are allowed to sit outside and be served. That's just not acceptable. We won't spend another cent here.

A bit out of the way in the industrial park, but once you're there, you don't notice it. Spacious and great atmosphere. Parking is available.

Incredibly wonderful atmosphere! Even an evening there feels like a vacation. Everything is just right here: a feast for the eyes, a feast for the palate, and, thanks to the friendly staff, a little wellness for the soul.

I've known the restaurant for years and have always been very satisfied. After moving, I was there again today, or rather yesterday, for the first time in a long time. The visit was a complete disappointment. All the employees seemed rushed or unmotivated. Then the food arrived: the tarte flambée was cold, with some salmon undercooked; the steak, although cooked medium-rare, had apparently been kept warm for a while, which unfortunately meant it was still cold and "rubbery" when served; then there was pasta with chanterelle mushrooms. I had literally ordered the accompanying steak strips "as well done as a shoe sole," some pieces were medium to rare. Since we hate wasting food and didn't want it to end up in the trash, we ate, but afterwards expressed our displeasure to the waiter. The conclusion was that he didn't really want to accept the criticism and even loudly criticized a colleague at the next table, saying he was apparently doing everything wrong. Regardless of the quality of the food, I found this behavior extremely uncooperative. You discuss things like that with the colleague in question somewhere else, but definitely not behind their back, let alone with guests, just to deflect criticism yourself. People in direct contact with guests have to deal with criticism, whether they're "at fault" or not. Otherwise, you can't fill the place with guests when there are staffing issues and then treat them like that. For my criticism, we received a discount and two espressos on the house, along with a dirty look from the waiter in question. I thought that was a good gesture in itself, but the completely inappropriate behavior prompted me, for the first time in my life, to not tip a cent. All in all, it wasn't a pleasant visit. We should have saved ourselves the 80km drive to celebrate my mom's birthday or chosen another location.

The staff was very attentive and quick, and we all found the friendly way they looked after us particularly pleasant. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful evening at the Original yesterday. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The ambiance is very nice. We felt very comfortable. However, we had to deduct one point for the food because the salmon on the salad had been pan-fried for too long and was therefore quite dry.

We moved to another city today and just wanted a simple lunch of fries and schnitzel. The Original was the perfect choice: friendly staff, delicious food, and attentive service. The restaurant has a unique look and good style. The table sizes vary and are also suitable for larger groups. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area who wants to eat something good. 👍🙏♥️

Delicious breakfast meets a great atmosphere We had breakfast at the Original in Köndringen for the first time. You definitely get full here, feel completely at home, and the food tasted really good, too. We were the first guests that Thursday, and naturally, things gradually became a bit more chatty. Nevertheless, the atmosphere remained calm and cozy. Some of the dishes are a bit on the high side, but the portion size and taste, in my opinion, make up for it. We'll be back!

Today's visit was unfortunately very disappointing for us. There were eleven of us there for what was supposed to be a birthday brunch. We were seated at the long table outside, which at first glance seemed fine. The bench was covered in dog hair, and there was a lot of trash under the table. Our request for a different table was ignored. We asked several times for a blanket so we wouldn't sit on the dog hair. Unfortunately, our request was only granted after three requests. One of the two employees was trying hard, while the other was rude. We were served one drink too many, but with the food they kept forgetting something that was on the menu. When we were paying, a man came out of the kitchen to get a drink, did this, went back into the kitchen, and served another plate without washing his hands. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until the end of our visit. It's a shame; we've been there often and enjoyed it. This was our last visit. Perhaps the quality depends on who is on duty. It would be better if the staff would be more accommodating to requests. Ours were certainly not arrogant.

Everything is clean, orders arrive promptly, and special requests are happily accommodated. I always enjoy coming here – it's a permanent fixture in the area for me!

We spent a lovely evening here. The food was generally good and freshly prepared, even if the selection is rather limited. You can tell the focus here is clearly on cocktails and specialty drinks – and they are truly excellent. The cocktail menu offers a wide variety, the presentation is thoughtful, and the taste is impressive. So if you're looking for a special drink in a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. The ambience is modern and stylish, with warm lighting that immediately creates a welcoming feeling. However, due to the design of the inn and the open layout, it gets quite noisy once the place gets full. This can be a bit distracting for a cozy evening for two, but it's ideal for a social gathering. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Orders were taken quickly and served promptly. All in all, a lovely restaurant that should particularly appeal to cocktail lovers. For an extended dinner, I would personally choose a restaurant with a larger selection, but I'd happily return for drinks and smaller dishes.

Although we enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the organization of our celebration was unfortunately disappointing. Important arrangements regarding seating, decorations, and the schedule were changed at short notice, sometimes without consultation. Communication seemed uncoordinated, which was very stressful for a special occasion. Example: A table was placed under a leaky area, leaving it exposed to rain inside. We were told that it was raining outside – a statement we found extremely disrespectful. Despite subsequent complaints, we have not received any response or feedback to date. The restaurant may be suitable for a cozy dinner, but we would not recommend it for larger celebrations.

The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the carpaccio was tilted and unpalatable. But that can happen, and they immediately took it back and apologized.

Good quality, delicious food and good value for money

Quality and service vary EXTREMELY...! You either have a good evening here, or you're greeted by overwhelmed, listless staff who make you feel like you have to beg for new drinks, or maybe you get lucky and don't die of thirst. Our last visit, we had no luck and had to wait a long time, and it wasn't worth it at all! No one asked if the food was okay, no one asked about dessert, nothing! Same story with the food. It's either super delicious and arrives quickly, or it's not good (cold, takes forever). !!! STAY AWAY FROM THE CAPRESE SALAD!!!! For a whopping €12.90, I would have expected more! I can do better at home. You only get 5 thin slices of tomatoes and not even basil as stated on the menu. This was simply replaced with a green salad :-( The atmosphere is very nice. However, it's very loud inside, and it's hard to understand each other. It's especially tiring for older people. Also, the 15 cm offset that you unfortunately have to drive over to get to the parking space could be removed. I don't think the recorded message when making a reservation is that great and impersonal. I probably won't be visiting you guys for a while...

We celebrated our civil wedding at this beautiful venue on July 25, 2025 – and it was simply perfect! From start to finish, all our wishes were fulfilled with the utmost care and warmth. The manager and event planner were incredibly friendly, professional, and dedicated. There was never a "no" – no matter what idea or wish we expressed, we were always told: "We can make it happen!" And they did. The entire organization ran smoothly, and the atmosphere was exuberant and joyful all night long. We didn't feel any restrictions and were able to do everything we imagined within the bounds of normality – that was truly something very special for us as a bride and groom. We would like to thank the entire team from the bottom of our hearts. You made this day unforgettable for us – we can highly recommend this venue!

Great ambience, courteous service and most importantly, the food in good quality and reasonable price

My gut feeling told me not to go in, but I had an appointment there. The shop is located on a cul-de-sac in an industrial area and seemed a bit dated to me. It was a Sunday morning and very quiet. Due to the constantly changing weather, the interior was too hot and empty like a waiting room, meaning there was no atmosphere at all. There was one table left outside for us, which we shared with other visitors. The staff seemed unmotivated, somewhat disorganized, and unfriendly. We ordered an antipasti plate for two because we weren't sure if we should stay. The ingredients were all edible, but 100% convenience food, with an unpleasant acidity. Despite her casual behavior towards me, I tipped the waitress, probably more out of reflex. It wasn't a huge loss, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it either.

Objective and subjective opinions always have to be viewed in different ways. Subjectively, I didn't really like the restaurant. Even with a little sun, it was far too warm in the original restaurant due to the glass-walled construction. It was also difficult to find shade. Then the large number of guests made it quite stuffy, coupled with the kitchen smells. This was remedied by switching on the air conditioning, although not everyone likes or tolerates this. After we thought about it, the service and attentiveness of a young server left a lot to be desired (there were four of us and we all had the same opinion). The food itself was OK and very reasonably priced, but we've had better food at the Ponton Vinolivio in Schallstadt. It's a shame. We won't be going back, and anyone who disagrees is just someone who disagrees, and that remains subjective.

I've been to the Original twice in the last two months, as I've always been satisfied before. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case both times. We had to wait a very long time for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't even half full. My food was forgotten, and only after asking was I informed that it would be coming in two minutes. The two minutes turned into ten, and the five other guests at the table had already finished. All I heard from the server was a brief apology, and that was the end of it for her. During the meal (including the other guests), the staff didn't even stop by to ask if everything was okay or if anyone wanted a drink. As I said, the restaurant wasn't even half full. After the table was cleared, no one appeared for half an hour, or even felt responsible for us or even asked for our drink requests (which we would have gladly taken). We ultimately had to wait almost 45 minutes for the bill, with our glasses empty. The food, on the other hand, was generally okay. The entire interaction with two different service staff that early evening was consistently unfriendly. No smile, no thank you, at times even rude and rude, and simply no interest in providing good service. Restaurants like this don't need it. People come anyway, just for the ambiance. There's no need to focus on service. It's a shame. Unfortunately, things have changed a lot. I used to enjoy going here.

We went to Original for breakfast today. My daughter had scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes, Nutella, a roll with butter, a croissant, and strawberry jam, and an orange juice. I also had Nutella, a roll with butter, a croissant, and strawberry jam, and a black tea. The butter came in a small bowl, unfortunately, it tasted completely like it came from the refrigerator, which I find quite disgusting. The whole thing cost me a whopping €32. For that money, I would have expected something nicer.

Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing. I wasn't greeted warmly, which immediately made a bad first impression. The food didn't match the menu description – some ingredients were missing, and the flavor wasn't convincing. My Coke was completely dry. I was promised a new one, but it never arrived. Overall, a less than satisfactory experience.

A bit stressful during the lunch break

Paid €16.90 for the shrimp salad. I got four shrimp, two slices of tomato, and some cucumber. It was a real joke.

Been here four or five times in as many years. So, some history. First off, anyone wishing to dine here should know it's very popular - especially when the weather is fine - so you really have to reserve. Booking a few hours ahead, we could get 1645 or 1945 for dinner. At first the service was a bit slow (it was busy, but . . .) but it picked up as the dinner unfolded and was quite prompt and attentive thereafter. The food was very good and so it should be since I'm Original makes plenty of money on their drinks. A 200 ml glass of wine (NOT .25) runs over Euro 7. Just be aware. Meals are reasonably priced, drinks are not. Everything else was fine. One shared starter, a pasta dish with meat, two salads, one dessert and espresso for three was just over Euro 90.

We went to “Im Original” for Easter brunch. You had to pay immediately with the reservation - the amount was 44.90 EUR. Overall, the price was justified, but there is a big minus for the coffee preparation solution. The machine had to "cool down" after 2 cups - which was very unpleasant for the around 50 guests in the gallery. Long waiting times at a pad/capsule machine. The ambience is also much nicer in the lower area - but you were separated from the rest of the restaurant after around 11.30 a.m. The service was great, everything at the buffet was always available and filled/tidy up. Only the strawberry tarts for dessert were too small and sold out for those who didn't get up immediately...

We were there on Easter Monday with 20 people. Among other things, there were 6 children there. We were seated at two longer tables and only had a limited menu so that things could go faster. Table number 1 received its food quite quickly. Despite asking, table number 2 (where the children were also sitting) waited an hour longer for the food than the other table. Absolute nonsense! One of the children ordered Pesto Rosso, which has pepperoni in it - but this is not listed or pointed out anywhere. Only when we asked when the food was too spicy for the child. We were also very rarely asked for drinks, so you can only get them quickly if you use the QR code on the table to order. Our first service was only moderately friendly and didn't try hard. Clearing and payment was also only mediocre in terms of service: some of the tables were cleaned and then the waitress ran away again. At least the restaurant manager tried to save the situation somewhat by offering coffee and ice cream for the children on the house.

We came as a larger group, unfortunately half of the group didn't get their food until almost an hour later! I would have wished for better!

We (group of 9 people) booked the Easter brunch. Selection: there were 3 rounds: -Breakfast: with cheese plate, sausage & ham plate, smoked salmon, dried. Tomatoes, pickled zuchini and peppers, 2 types of bread rolls: normal and with grains, jam, nuts..., muesli, cornflakes, fresh fruit, butter, scrambled eggs, bacon, Kaba, tea, coffee (unfortunately the coffee machine was often overwhelmed, this should be from the hotel locker or an alternative solution (coffee pots?) - Warm dishes: with knöpfle and rice, salmon, vegetables, pork medallions and sliced ​​poultry - Dessert: Tiramisu and something fruity Plus the drinks: water, various juices, wines,... The selection and taste were okay, but we would have liked to have known more (perhaps via a menu). Since the things were only being set up little by little, we initially thought that there was only the breakfast round and were disappointed with the offer for the first time and of course we went for it. Which was a shame for the rest of the dishes. Ambiance: The Easter brunch took place on the 1st floor, which I and my companions found a shame. The ambience is nicer downstairs. Maybe you could invest something here or come up with something to make it a little nicer (less like the quickly prepared storage room) All in all, the price-performance ratio was okay. (Regional products such as sausage, for example, would be great or a hint and the vegan selection could taste better). However, I don't think I would book it again.

Location and service were great, the tarte flambée wasn't fully baked, the turkey fillet was quite tough and dry and was probably in the pan for a little too long. One baked too short, the other sizzled too long, with optimal coordination we could have eaten together at the same time 😉

I ordered schnitzel with fried potatoes. The food was good, but the portion was far too small. With children's plates you often get larger portions. I was also given the choice when ordering whether I would prefer gravy or cream sauce. This selection would ultimately be billed at €1.50.

Unfortunately, we were given a table near the entrance, and a cold draft came through the open door. We asked the blonde waitress if it would be possible to close the door and received a rude "Yes." Nothing happened. Later, the friendly waiter closed the door after our repeated requests. It was generally uncomfortably cold; at several tables, women were sitting in jackets. As the place emptied, the women at the table next to us, like us, moved to the back. Unfortunately, this didn't help much. It was just cold and uncomfortable! I can only recommend dressing warmly! Due to the uncomfortably cold, I can unfortunately only give the otherwise lovely ambiance 3 stars. We also mentioned this to the blonde waitress, simply as a friendly reminder to perhaps consider a solution for the cold problem in the future, as many guests were obviously freezing, and were again "served" with a rude response. Since it was a business dinner, my colleague asked for a separate receipt when paying. Apparently, the blonde waitress hadn't heard my colleague say this and only brought mine to me. When my colleague politely addressed the waitress about it, she repeatedly snapped at her! This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable!!!! This waitress, and thus the service, unfortunately only receives one star! Reservations by recorded delivery aren't my cup of tea; I prefer the personal touch...

The food and service were good. The decor, however, has seen better days.

We haven't been here for over a year now. Reason: we were no longer satisfied with the food (especially in terms of the portions). The large salads almost never had enough side dishes for the value for money. Yesterday we were surprised: there was plenty of fish on the Corsica salad and the portion was perfect. We were also thrilled by the waitresses: the shop was packed, not a single table was free and only three waitresses rocked the shop. I had breakfast here again today. It's always been good. I always eat scrambled eggs with tomatoes and cheese there. Today, unfortunately, it was too runny for me. I asked the "chef" if he could quickly fry it again. The look on his face was priceless. He rolled his eyes, shook his head, and reluctantly put it back on the grill. Sorry, I didn't ask anything impossible of him. I was served it again, but it was just bad. Luckily, the staff is always friendly. With an open kitchen, a "chef" like that shouldn't be visible to guests. Especially if they look very unkempt.

The service was very nice and attentive, the food was consistently good. I'd love to come back.

small selection of “typical” breakfast dishes. Nothing special, no bowls or vegan alternatives. Milk alternatives would have been good. Ham, cheese, sausage, rolls, muesli... everything was delicious. :)

Great ambience, nice friendly service, very good food, something for everyone. Very good price-performance ratio. It's better to reserve a place in advance.

The salads are really huge and very tasty. The atmosphere is very cozy, we often come here not only to eat something but also to drink an aperitif. By the way, the limos are also highly recommended.

Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ I was really disappointed with my visit to the original in Köntringen. The service left a lot to be desired - unfriendly and not very attentive. The food was served cold, which completely spoiled the enjoyment. A particularly unpleasant incident occurred when an employee scratched her ear with her little finger during service and then touched the bread with her bare hands without gloves or a bread towel. An absolute no-go in the catering industry! Overall, the visit was disappointing and I definitely cannot recommend the restaurant.

Location was great, we sat on the outside in the window. Very busy, but the service was still good! Fast, snappy, not intrusive. Food and drinks were consistently good. The menu offers a wide selection - everyone will find something here. Gladly again.

We had a wonderful evening this evening with excellent food. Reservation was good because it was a full house on Sunday evening. Still a pleasant atmosphere. The kitchen, service and barman do a great job here. My salmon was fried juicy, the salad was crisp and my drink request was fulfilled immediately and tasty. Were here for the first time but would love to come back.
