Leider war das Essen mal wieder weder lecker noch liebevoll zubereitet, obwohl wenig los war. Das war definitiv unser letzter Versuch "Im Original". Sehr schade, weil die Räumlichkeiten eigentlich nett sind

When the sun is shining you can sit in the sun, and the house is also beautifully designed. The food is good, the bread wasn't good for a while, that's changed :-)

Nice ambience and good food. In the past, there has often been poor service in the form of queries as to whether anything else is needed, drinks are wanted, etc. + long waiting times for the food. On the last visit, however, the staff were very attentive and there was only a short waiting time for the food - it should stay that way, then you'll come back more often!

That really doesn't work. Apparently they had too much success and now think they can rest on their laurels. Opening hours until midnight on Saturday. At 10:30 p.m. it was not possible to get ice cream or coffee. The bill was brought to us at 10:50 p.m. and 20 minutes later all the staff were gone. Opening hours until midnight? Kitchen until 11 p.m.? We won't be back that quickly. Luckily there are others Unfortunately we went back yesterday. If you order a KiBa and a bottle is empty, of course no new one will be opened for you. Simply fill half the glass with ice and cherry juice. I let the glass go back. When it came back the ice cream was gone and well stirred. Not much banana juice was made pure. Due to the lack of ice, it was completely at room temperature. So the bottles are not even stored in the refrigerator. People are also saving more and more on food. The portions are okay, but please don't expect too much cheese in the cheese sauce or even enough sauce to cover all the pasta. In addition, all the food came lukewarm. But when paying by card at the end, the tip was carefully pointed out.

Sehr freundliche und schnelle Bedienung, gute Auswahl an Speisen (u.a. Flammkuchen, Rumpsteak). Wer's noch eiliger hat kann auch einen QR Code am Tisch scannen und über's Smartphone bestellen. Wir kommen gerne hier vorbei, wenn wir mal in der Gegend sind.

Never again. We were just there and wanted to order two tarte flambées to take away. Today was the second time we were expelled. Apparently too busy for that To prepare food ToGo. But on site it means less work or what?!? Sorry but the service and friendliness urgently needs to be worked on. One star is already too many.

Wir haben kurzfristig reserviert und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Trotz vieler Gäste war das Personal sehr freundlich, sehr zuvorkommend, bestens organisiert und wirkte nicht gestresst . In der Küche wurde sogar noch ein Lehrling geduldig eingewiesen. Das Essen hat vorzüglich geschmeckt und es waren richtig große Portionen. Tolle Atmosphäre, super Service, geniales Essen! Vielen Dank an alle!!!

Nothing to say, fast, efficient, fair price

The atmosphere is very nice and I really liked it. However, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our lunch. The taste of the food was okay but not above average. The portions of schnitzel with fries were rather small.

We wanted to have lunch and sat outside, where we were ignored for 20 minutes, even though we were clearly noticed. We were looked at several times, but it was more important to clear the tables and sort the parmesan! We weren't even made aware that there might only be service inside... unfortunately, it's a shame and disappointing! When more guests sat down at any table inside and were served straight away, we left. Unfortunately, we can't rate the ambience or the food because we didn't even get the chance to do so.

We went to this restaurant for dinner with a group of 5 people. The service was very quick, nice and professional. The food was very good and the price-performance ratio was perfectly fine. The ambience was very nice and the temperature in the restaurant was optimal. I'm writing this because we were very unsure about even visiting this restaurant because of the bad reviews online. Conclusion: We would love to come back

Nice ambience, food ok Unfriendly staff! We waited two hours for our food! Tables that came after us got their food before us. When we asked where our food was, the waitress said in an unfriendly, stressed tone "she wouldn't stand in the kitchen and cook, there would be a lot going on and we could leave if we didn't like it" That's not how you treat customers! That was the first time we didn't tip a cent! For a mid-priced restaurant, the staff should also be friendly - even if it's busy It's a shame - things were different here

Location is deceiving! 2 stars for the beautiful location 🌴 and that's it! Already in the entrance area you can only feel the bad mood of the service staff: the service was unfriendly towards us, probably because we didn't make a reservation. Since there didn't seem to be any tables left, we were allowed to sit at the counter and the waitress would let us know as soon as a table became available. We waited 60 minutes because the waitress had “intentionally” forgotten about us, even though we had drawn our attention several times and asked! When we got upset and angry, we finally got a table, a table that was flooded with cleaning water (the menus were soggy). The food is okay but not of good quality, the meat dishes are too small. You get a mini bowl of brown water as a sauce!🤢 I can do the tarte flambée better at home😁 A tip is also required (brazenness), I deliberately didn't give one for such poor service. That's why I absolutely cannot recommend the restaurant for eating, it's ok for drinking: you can't get drunk with so much ice in your drinks😉...

I'm a fairly regular customer at this restaurant and I'm increasingly disappointed. On Wednesday the 22nd I was there with two customers at around 1:30 p.m. We sat on the terrace and after 20 minutes no one came to us even though the waitress saw us outside. So I went in to ask and was told they don't serve on the patio! We then decided to eat inside and at the end it felt like the waitress was waiting for a tip. I'm sorry, but I'm very disappointed that even though the waitress saw us waiting outside, she didn't bother to serve us or tell us that the patio was closed.

The food is very tasty, the service leaves nothing to be desired. We like to come to the restaurant often.

The tarte flambée and the spaghetti were not only lukewarm, but also had no outstanding taste. The waiting time of 50 minutes was unreasonable.

Very nice glass house style restaurant with large parking lot and large outdoor seating area. Very comfortable to relax in. The menu is very large and varied, everyone will find something to suit their taste.

Starter with bread, yesterday's bread was too hard, the main meal wasn't good

....... we had to wait over 25 minutes after the drinks were served to order our food....... with the starter there was an old, dried out piece of bread from the day before..... .INEDIBLE!!!!!! Half of the fried potatoes were burnt dark brown................ the spaghetti with pesto was half covered in pesto and the other half was without pesto............ 😡😡😡 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡................ there was no apology either......... I can do not recommend this store...... NEVER AGAIN 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Incompetent staff, out of 4 things we ordered we recieved 2 and we were waiting for our food but then when we asked they said theyre closing soon and wont serve us anymore, the steak I had was really chewy and not worth even 2€ let alone the price they put on it

Delicious food in the beautifully decorated glass house. Food and service were both good. There are enough parking spaces available.

We ate very well and received friendly service. Always my pleasure.

Outside peak times and after selecting a table within sight of the counter, several waitresses strolled past us without paying us any attention; the gossip at the counter apparently seemed more important than the guest! Even after a “I'll be right back” the path went back to the bar community, so that after 15 minutes of arrogant disregard we left this beautiful ambience to look for a better place to feel comfortable. Therefore no “star” for the service!

We have been frequenting the restaurant and each time we have had terrible experiences with the service team. Today the afternoon schedule was really too much. After cordially asking for service several times, we were literally ignored with conversations and laughter behind the counter. We decided to leave and never return. Freiburg is a beautiful city with incredible restaurants. This joint will NEVER AGAIN

Breakfast : bad breakfast. Portion far too small and too expensive. Cheap rolls and very small croissants. Lunch and dinner are good for that!

The food is delicious. But the service is unbearable - snooty, cheeky and arrogant. Never again.

Price-performance ratio was very mediocre (I had a tarte flambée) and the sanitary facilities were unfortunately in poor condition. :-( Everyone can have a bad day. I suspect/hope that was an exception.

You wait forever until you get something to eat. We had starters and main courses. The starters came after an hour and the main courses again after an hour. Never again

Great ambience but incredibly bad service! According to the website, the café opens at 9 a.m. We were there at 9am to have breakfast. The service came at about 9:03 a.m. She saw us at the door but didn't open it. At 9:08 a.m. she came and opened the door. This cheerful nature forced out a “good morning” and disappeared, visibly annoyed, to clean the tables. Then, almost without a word, she placed the cards on the table and left again. We then left at 9:15 am. Of course we didn't say goodbye either. As we were leaving the restaurant, more staff came towards us.

Ambience was great. Unfortunately I can't sign anything else! The service was very rude, unfriendly and arrogant! The food was OK, unfortunately the sauce on the pasta didn't taste like anything. PS: Air conditioning or ventilation would be an advantage.

Nice location and ambience. But that was it. One of the worst breakfasts I've had in my life. Mag asks for 2 rolls and only gets one. Waiter walks with plate and chews/eats breakfast at the same time. And you have the feeling that he is also the owner. Cocky. Once and never again

This was the second time we were there. The first time we were not impressed with the food, but we thought we'll give it another try. Bad idea. The food was totally overcooked and didn't look fresh. I should not have eaten it. I was out until the next day with an upset stomach and worse (I spare you the details). Service is kind and atmosphere ok, especially outside. But don't expect good food. I certainly will not ever visit again.

Two negative points: very warm in the greenhouse, and bad parking situation, otherwise everything was great.

The restaurant has changed a lot compared to earlier times and now seems quite impersonal. Online reservations do not allow for subsequent changes to additional services such as table setting or champagne. In addition, emails are not answered and only an automated service can be reached by telephone. The table setting was disappointing: a narrow paper tablecloth, two napkins and two glasses were all that was provided. The reference to the special ceremony was also not addressed, which made the additional note offered seem completely in vain. The very tasty Mediterranean food and the appealing, youthful atmosphere, which is also pleasant for older audiences, should be positively highlighted. However, it was inappropriate for the male waiter to ask for a tip - a practice that is not common in the restaurant industry.

Over dertig tafels in de "Kas" / "Treibhaus" met twee dames in de bediening, volle hut, dat is gas geven, dus een plekje krijgen en het eten duurt wat langer. Coole vibes geeft het restaurant, leuk met de planten en lichtjes. Gerechten simpel maar oke.. alles voor een snelle hap, niets bijzonders.

The food was a disaster! Penne Gorgonzola consisted of an indefinable, watery sauce. We (3 people, same dish) didn't even taste the Gorgonzola. Since spaghetti came first with my dish (penne ordered, which everyone around me heard except the waiter) and I let it go back, I took the penne dish home barely touched and didn't let it go back again. The next day I prepared a gorgonzola sauce myself, it was worlds!!! Sad but true. We were definitely there for the first and last time. In addition, the waiter was in a very bad mood and you hardly dared to order another drink, goodbye to sales!

I have rarely eaten such a tasteless meal in a restaurant. And the TK Schnitzel topped everything.👎 That's not possible. My greatest respect to the service staff. Despite the absolutely understaffed and full restaurant, always friendly and helpful. Still won't come again.

Food was ok so far. Had the Schnitzel Verdura, unfortunately the schnitzel was bland and could have been left in the pan longer. Vegetables were surprisingly spicy (but weren't on the menu), fried potatoes were good. Service was friendly and responded immediately to complaints at the table.

Service was good, food ok but not a masterpiece either. Room temperature in summer is unfortunately borderline due to the construction of the building.

Ambiance is really nice. Wanted to stop by with my daughter for a drink at the end of the day. According to the internet, opening times until midnight. At a quarter past ten the waiter welcomed us with the words “we’re done for today”. Not even a drink. Very friendly. The sound makes the music!!

Despite reservations for a large group, there were not enough seats. The hot drinks (including coffee) were lukewarm and only came after a delay of about 20-30 minutes. For a simple breakfast (yogurt, croissants) we waited 3/4 hours, even though there was nothing going on. The variety of fruits has become less with each additional order, e.g. Yoghurt with just melon and apples. The service was extremely unfriendly: people rolled their eyes when we wanted to pay separately.

The linguine with chanterelles was nothing - lukewarm, almost no sauce, zero taste. One waiter was very nice, the other was annoyed and grumpy. The ambience was nice. Nevertheless, I won't come anymore. What use is the most beautiful ambience to me if every beginner cook does it better?

The restaurant thrives on its very beautiful location. Friendly service with weak food. It's better to make a reservation because it's very busy.

Taking too long to take an order and deliver the food

I went to the Original for breakfast with a friend 5 days ago. It wasn't up to date at all... we wanted muesli with yoghurt and at 9.30am there was no more yoghurt in the house... something like that shouldn't happen and you should point this out to your guests and not just bring something... We then decided on something else decided, but it wasn't any better...very unloving and with TK Weckle...cruel... In addition, the service was very unmotivated and totally annoyed...and that in this day and age...I will definitely not visit it again...you get better service in every gas station!!! No recommendation!!!!

Nice location in the glass house. Service team super friendly and prompt. Drinks and food came super quickly. Salads very tasty, rump steak cooked to perfection. Prices reasonable. I'd love to come again. Reservations possible online or by telephone. For specials such as table decorations etc. you need a credit card to pre-order when making your reservation. Prices here are also completely ok. There are enough parking spaces directly at the restaurant or in the adjacent industrial area.

We like to eat here and the food and drinks have always been very good. The ambience is really nice and definitely invites you to linger.

We always enjoyed coming here because there was a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. You could then overlook the bad-tempered staff. But on our last visit the food was inedible. The so-called Kinderschnitzel was not a schnitzel, but pressed meat pulp covered with breading. The fries tasted like old fat. The salad with turkey strips barely had any turkey strips on it. The salad itself was the cheapest lettuce and the salad dressing (which I've always been a fan of) was probably stretched to make it cheaper. Flambées were always delicious, now it was ok, but not fully baked in the middle and still soggy. Only the staff was surprisingly friendly this time. Dear original team, you urgently need to return to your previous quality, otherwise you will lose even more (regular) guests!

Ambiance and service - good. However, there is still a downward trend in food. Last summer it was more of a “well” but now it’s a clear NO. Completely inedible schnitzel. Fries also didn't taste ok (fat). The previous flagship tarte flambée and the salads are also no longer at the usual level. Cut mixes and tasteless dressing and little meat. This trend should be stopped urgently.

We really enjoy going there. The food is great. And we like it very much.

Price performance below all else! Service was okay but without a system, we waited an hour for 2 salads and a steak with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, there were either spoiled lettuce leaves on both salads or they were discolored red in many places, which is why I sent them back immediately. Some of the fried potatoes were black. We complained to the cellar, paid the full price without any ifs and buts but will never eat there again! I don't recommend it to anyone.

Ambiance is very nice and the food is ok, not overwhelming but price/performance is good. The service is usually overwhelmed and therefore sometimes sloppy. Unfortunately, customer friendliness is a foreign word in the original!

We feel comfortable in the original, our grandchildren can play in the garden and we have time to enjoy the food.

First visit “Im Original”, and actually very impressed with the location. Interesting ambience, unusual, and Mediterranean. Very authentic in combination with what the menu offers. Top price-performance ratio, very friendly and attentive staff. A location that is even perfect for a slightly different wedding celebration. New favorite restaurant and recommended.

Everything perfect - except for one little thing. The portion could have been a little bit more. Both the fries and the Creme Brüllet. I will gladly come again.

An extremely great and interesting location. Unfortunately, the waiters lack any wine knowledge and the chef doesn't know the exact cooking times for a rump steak. Be careful with red wine: it could arrive at your table cloudy, vinegary and inedible. You should also expect that the rare rump steak will be completely cold inside. If you want to spend time here in peace and quiet and in a relaxed atmosphere, you can order a specialist. But I do better with red wine and rump steak at home.

I was here twice in one day! The first and the last time! My wife and I have wanted to go to the original for a long time. The fact that the hut was full every time we drove past spoke for this. We finally returned on Saturday. After a big day trip we were quite hungry. The original was well attended but not overcrowded. We ordered pork fillet twice with the spicy spaghetti. The preparation shouldn't have been that difficult - but it took over an hour for the food to arrive. In my opinion, it took far too long, especially since things weren't going any better at the neighboring tables! It was tasty, although the fillet was too well done for my taste. I didn't want to complain because I saw at the neighboring table that the waiting time started again at zero. It's a shame I can't write anything better here.

⚠️ Attention, some of the staff have changed, there are unpleasant and unfriendly people in place! The waiting time for food has become longer! The food isn't that good either! When you call, no one picks up the phone, whoever thinks!!!

Very tasty food. Today it was Salad Corfu. But there is a large selection of delicious food. Whether various tarte flambées or schnitzel or rump steak, delicious desserts... Everything was delicious. Service was very friendly. Parking available. It is advisable to reserve in advance. We would be happy to come back at any time.
