IL NUOVO POSITANO in Stuttgart

Maybe we just caught it on an unlucky day. The food (Bolognese and calzone) was mercilessly oversalted. The salad my wife ordered was very unappetizing and coarsely chopped (giant pieces). On top of that, everything was ruthlessly doused with balsamic vinegar. No one asked for it. My wife can't stand vinegar or balsamic vinegar. Well, maybe we were just unlucky. However, the service was super friendly, and the interior is cozy. We'll try again in a few months. All the best! 🎈

A dangerous Italian restaurant. We ordered fillet of meat and pizza, but the pizza was very average. The burrata salad was delicious, and the Bolognese pasta with meat was amazing. We were served by the Jordanian employee, Khaled.

The food wasn't good enough. The shrimp pasta had a musty smell and the vegetable pizza was average and didn't live up to the standard. The service was bad and slow. If it had less than one star, I would have given it to the restaurant. I would not recommend it to Arabs at all.

We've always enjoyed going to Positano. Unfortunately, we were very annoyed last time because the bill was incorrect. Despite asking, everything was supposedly correct, and all the dishes and drinks were listed verbally in a whisper. But it was simply €10 too much. We should have asked for the receipt. Since we asked, it's unlikely to have been an oversight. Be sure to ask for a bill at this restaurant. The food was good, but it's been better.

The food was the best of the entire visit. Nothing special, though. We've never been served as unfriendly as in this restaurant! Very, very bad service! An example: I said we wanted to pay and was told to pay with cash or card. Five minutes later, another customer raised her arm and also wanted to pay. This was done immediately. After another five minutes, we were finally charged. But that's just one example of many I could name.

We ate there today. Unfortunately, we were treated unfriendly as well. We each ordered an appetizer and a main course. The main course arrived before the appetizer. Upon request, this was corrected and the appetizer was brought. The main courses (spaghetti alle vongole and tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms) were good, but a bit bland. The appetizer plate was excellent. Our second drink order was only noticed after we asked for it twice. When we asked for the bill, the waiter simply told us how much it would cost. We tipped and explicitly asked for a bill. However, the bill showed a lower price than the waiter had previously told us. All in all, a good restaurant with poor service.

Disastrous service! We got a table without a reservation, but the waiter was absolutely unfriendly; no "please" or "thank you" was said. Our starter was forgotten, and we only got it after asking. The drinks we ordered were also forgotten, and we had to ask where they were. When we paid, no bill was issued; we were simply told the amount, which was €1 too high. We only noticed this when we asked for a bill. The amount wasn't high, but it was still a scam. The food itself was okay, but they had skimped on the seasoning (especially salt). Unfortunately, there was no salt or pepper on the table for us to add to our own seasoning. There was no goodbye when we left, either. This place is fine if you're half-starving and just want something to eat, but if you have a choice, you should think twice.

While strolling through town after a tennis tournament, I stumbled upon this restaurant in the pedestrian zone quite by chance. I have to say, I haven't had such good pizza in a long time. My compliments! Unfortunately, the service left a bit to be desired, which was probably due to the busyness of the Saturday evening. We'll be back next time we're in Stuttgart!

We spontaneously got a table there. The food was very, very tasty. We were not satisfied with the service. Arrogant, no greeting or goodbye, no please or thank you, hardly a word. Despite this, we left a 15% tip on the bill. The waiter turned around and disappeared, without a thank you or goodbye. An impossible demeanor. No matter how good the food is, we don't want to be served like that again.

Nice and small and cozy. The lasagna and the pizza were good. The staff is always trying. However, I wouldn't sit by a window as it is quite drafty. It would be nice to check and “clean up” the toilets even when there is little going on.

Tasty pasta dishes, though the beef was a bit tough and chewy – even a little sinewy, unfortunately. That aside, the service was great: friendly and fairly quick. The restaurant is located in a really pleasant, quiet area, and sitting outside in the garden is a lovely way to enjoy some Italian food. I was expecting a little more overall, but it’s still a nice spot and worth visiting.

One of the best Italians in Stuttgart. We come here often and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is super nice. I recommend spaghetti aglio e olio with mussels. It's not on the menu but they'll do it for you. 😉

Old house with flair. Il NUOVO is really better than before! Lunch for Stuttgart is OK in terms of price. Large portions. You will also feel pleasantly full here.

Come here if you are Italian and are in the area

It was the first time there, but somehow they couldn't keep up. Food was on display but was not brought. After waiting for an hour we called and the food came. The pizza was still warm in the middle otherwise already cold :-( Table was only set after request even though it was reserved. There was a lot going on in that weather, but that wasn't possible. Will try again, maybe it will be better.

A very authentic Italian restaurant in the better part of Stuttgart. The menu is slimmed down to essentials, all of which are amazing. The service is polite, friendly and caring. The ambience is welcoming.

The food was brilliant, but the service was unfortunately poorly planned. Therefore there were long waiting times and we almost missed our last train. Even with a reservation, we still waited half an hour for a table, but that's not what you reserve for. It takes good planning and then the store runs really well. Unfortunately, it was only after half an hour and upon request that we were informed that the starter we had ordered was sold out. Oh well. More stress than relaxed good food.

The location is very central, the ambience inside is much better than outside. Unfortunately the food was only mediocre.

The restaurant is in a nice location with a cozy atmosphere. The tables are close together, which in my opinion makes for a cozy setting. We were kindly received and helped. The dishes and drinks were served quickly. I had bruschetta as a starter and it was so tasty. Just the right amount of all ingredients that created the perfect taste sensation. I am also very pleased with the pizza, fresh products with a soft crust. The service could perhaps have come by again later for extra drinks, hence the 4/5 stars. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes traditional and simple but excellent dishes.

I have never written a review, especially a negative review. But it was so speechless. The food was served very slowly and I had to wait a long time for the soup to be served. I couldn't bear to wait for an hour and when I was about to leave and asked to pay for the soup, I was told that my pizza was ready, but I was in no mood and just wanted to leave. Calls to the waiter never got a response. The four people at the next table came later than me but the food was served much faster than me. The waiter told me that because they ordered the food in advance, I couldn't understand it, and said that I should make a reservation and order in advance, otherwise I would have to wait. If you are short-staffed, you can choose not to accept non-reservation guests, instead of making me wait here for almost an hour and have a very ordinary bowl of soup and a small bottle of water, and then pay 12 euros. This was a complete disaster for me who was already a little sick and hungry all day long and just wanted a good meal.

Great lunch. Cozy restaurant with a unique flair

They have excellent Italian pizza and pasta. It is a renovated version of an old house and immediately takes you back to the 18th century. Also don't forget to drink Azzuro beer

I took the tagliatelle pesto salmone which was great. Unfortunately, there was not much pesto, mostly pasta water, and the amount of tagliatelle was not very generous, otherwise, it was a great experience!

I was really looking forward to an evening with a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. Unfortunately, the spaghetti wrapped in Parmesan cheese was served only lukewarm, and the plate was practically thrown onto the table as I walked past, and I was completely ignored. Ordering more drinks was also difficult because the attention was focused on the regular customers. I've rarely felt so uncomfortable. What a shame.

€12.50 at lunch for a very tasty pizza of your choice with a side salad. Full restaurant and you still get your food very quickly. What more could you want? Everything is small and cozy. Don't let the entrance scare you.

On 20th. October, 2024. I came here alone, and ordered a pasta with a beer. Here is my credit card bill as you can see. It's 32.50 euro with one Carne and a beer. Waiter barely has service, and I waited long for my meal and for payment. As the receipt as proof. I got email today that you delete my comment, but my comment is my real experience and receipt as you can see. that's it.

Unfortunately, pizzas were very doughy and the crust was much too thick. Mushroom pizza was completely soggy and seasoned far too little. Prices for the drinks are way too high (small apple spritzer 4.20 euros). Service top. Unfortunately, the rooms weren't heated enough and so we were cold.

Great restaurant! I lived in Italy for 4 years and have to say that you feel like you are in Italy here. Highly recommended. Price performance very good.

Everything is great, Lola said that the pizza is very tasty, great service, delicious food, BUT, everyone was brought bread, but we weren’t. How can you forget to bring bread in an Italian restaurant? Correct yourself guys.

The restaurant has a living room atmosphere, sitting and eating with friends at friends' houses. All meals were great.

Had dinner at IL Nuovo Positano today. The food was excellent and we enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was very cozy and pleasant. The friendly service rounded off the whole thing to a successful evening. We would be happy to visit the IL Nuovo Positano restaurant again.

From the service and especially to the food, there is an Italian atmosphere. Pasta tastes very fresh and the lunch menu changes weekly. Among the latter there are always highlights that you cannot always get outside of Italy.

As an Italian, I can say that there is authentic Italian cuisine here. We enjoyed delicious pasta and fish in a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I ordered a classic dish: spaghetti bolognaise - it looked not so special, portion was small and i dont know what happened in the kitchen but more salt is not possible....too salty, taste so bad...somehow mix experience from our group, some said their food was good, some said too salty also... Ambiente and Service are good.

Perfect place for Italian foods

It was really delicious. We chose beef carpacio, mixed salad, burritino pizza and funghi pizza. The bill was 80 euros with drinks. The price was average and the presentation was clean.

In the heart of Stuttgart, in the Calwer Passage, is this great Italian restaurant. Inside you can see the age of the house, details are left here, especially on the floor. Creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and high quality. I can only recommend this restaurant.

Great lunch with a diverse selection of pasta, as well as meat and fish dishes at fair prices. There is always a free mixed salad included. The staff is friendly and quick. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. but has both a terrace and an elevator that leads to the restaurant if necessary. From now on we will come regularly for lunch break!!

Small and simple Italian menu, but really delicious food. I loved the pasta with Venus mussels.

Nicely located restaurant in the pedestrian zone with many outdoor tables. The drinks arrived quickly and the ordering was also quick. The starters (antipasti and vitello tonnato) with bread were delicious. We waited about 1 hour for the main courses: all 3 meals were lukewarm, the paccheri were very al dente with only 4 clams and were returned, the pasta with porcini mushrooms tasted okay, the pinsa was remade, but it also came later announced. As an apology there was a mixed plate of desserts and grappa, but that couldn't change what was a terrible dinner for us. Hopefully other guests will be spared this!

Unfortunately, not such a great experience. Food was ok, but nothing more. Spaghetti alle vongole could have used a little more salt. The garlic was very unintense. Linguine frutti di mare was ok. Dessert was again very good. Panna cotta and creme brulee. Unfortunately the espresso was quite cold. Ambiance outside was like that. Tables very close together. Service was very friendly and humorous. Big but. Our bill was a few euros too high. We didn't get an invoice, just the amount we were supposed to pay. That's why we had the lineup brought to us. It then quickly resolved itself and was corrected. With kind apologies. Nevertheless, there is still a bad aftertaste.

Unfortunately the outside terrace was closed due to the bad weather conditions. Which is why we ate in the restaurant -> up the stairs. Unfortunately it was a bit stuffy inside and a bit too warm for me personally. After ordering you get bread and a small bowl in which you can mix olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A sweet idea to make the waiting time for the main course more pleasant. The food was delicious, the pasta was better than the pizza, I have to admit. But of course the pizza wasn't bad either. I just somehow missed some spices and cheese. For dessert I had the cheesecake, which was very tasty 😋 but very small for the price! The presentation of the dessert was very nice though. The staff is very friendly and personable! We paid a total of around 70-75€ for 2 people for a pasta dish, a pizza, 3 wine spritzers, 2 small waters, and 2x dessert.

It was a nice evening in Stuttgart, so we took a table outside and had a good time here with our friends. As menu offers nicely selected choice of pasta and seafood, we had no problem to find what we like and quickly settle with each choice. Among all, I have to highlight that Sardinian pasta with seafood (Fregola Sarda Tostata ai Frutti di Mare) was very nice!

Excellent Italian food and quality

Overall it was okay. The pizza was quite good, but the pasta didn't taste like anything. The tiramisu was heavy on the stomach and could have been a little airier. The portions of the other dishes (fish and meat) were very small. We celebrated a bachelorette party as a group of women and the waiters asked several times who the bride was and in the end just answered “Cool”. Despite the tip, there wasn't even a limoncello or espresso on the house, even though we spent a lot. Even if the pizza was quite good, I wouldn't come here again.

Curious restaurant on the second floor with good views of the street if you sit next to the window, cozy atmosphere and varied menu. The pizza was correct and the aperol was good.

As Italians, we are often hesitant when choosing an Italian restaurant abroad, however, after days of traveling with meals and dinners out, the desire to eat something closer to our habits is strong! We had a great time and ate very very well! We had a bruschetta (excellent bread and tomatoes) and a salad as a starter. Then we ordered a fillet (very tender and lean) and a seafood pasta. For dessert we have a crème brullèe which is also delicious! Fast service and very kind staff! We would happily return.
