Ichiban Sushibar in Bonn

We got a table at short notice. We received a very friendly welcome. The sushi was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

We've eaten here several times and ordered takeout a few times – and we've never been disappointed. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming; you can tell they love their jobs. The sushi is absolutely top-notch, always fresh, and tastes fantastic. The toro (fatty tuna belly) is a particular highlight, something you'll hardly find anywhere else. The prices are perfectly reasonable for sushi, especially considering the outstanding quality. For me, it's one of the best sushi restaurants in Bonn – highly recommended!

They charge for the tap water. Here is where other restaurants that don't charge for tab water make a difference and make my go there, where they are humans.

I didn't enjoy the sushi rolls as much as I expected after reading the reviews, but it was fresh and price was good. Will try a different set next time :)

We enjoy eating sushi here regularly. It's always delicious, and the rice-to-fish ratio is just right. You do need to allow some time, as the sushi is freshly prepared... but the wait is rewarded with delicious sushi. It's best to reserve a table, as it can get crowded.

I visited Ichiban again after about 15 years, and it almost felt like time had stood still – the decor and menu are still the same as they were back then. The restaurant is cozy, with lovely indoor and outdoor seating. The sushi was delicious and absolutely reasonable in price. I was less impressed, however, with the miso soup: it tasted good, but with only a few pieces of carrot and tiny scraps of tofu, it was rather sparse – it used to be better. I would have also liked a bit more flexibility with the seaweed salad, as my request for a mix of green and black lettuce was declined. Overall, though, a good dining experience in a pleasant atmosphere – with some minor niggles in the details.

Exceptionally delicious sushi! The rice quality, flavor, and texture are perfectly balanced. The fish absolutely meets the high standards you'd expect from a good sushi restaurant: top-notch freshness. Especially the salmon: it literally melts like butter in your mouth. Here you get authentic sushi, without unnecessary fried "tourist" versions. The true spice lies in simplicity.

For me, this is the best place in Bonn for sushi. Good food in a simple, pleasant atmosphere. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating is also very pleasant, and given the location, it's very quiet. I highly recommend it.

Had dinner with my friends last week. They offer a variety of sushi, which are all delicious; we enjoyed them very much. They alhavr Japanese beers such as Kirin and Sapporo.

Very good sushi at an unbeatable price! The selection is diverse, the service is fun and friendly, and the kitchen is open for viewing. The ambiance is simple yet elegant—I could imagine a sushi restaurant in Japan looking like this. My only criticism: the cheap disposable wooden chopsticks. We paid €25 per person, including drinks.

Never again, I can't recommend this restaurant. The service was very nice and polite, but unfortunately, the quality of the food was subpar. The rice tasted like it had been left yesterday and was partially undercooked. The nori (seaweed) was hard to chew. I'm speechless at the high ratings.

I've been going there regularly for many years. I love that this place is just so consistently good and the staff, both service and chefs, are the same. That's why everything is so well coordinated, runs smoothly and there are no negative surprises. The food is super fresh, you can watch the chef prepare it and the sushi is classic, which I think is great. No sauces, no cream cheese or anything like that. I also really enjoy sitting outside. It's in the middle of the city, a great stop after work or a stroll through town.

Tasty sushi made with care. Located conveniently right next to University of Bonn. I was here with some colleagues. The taste was just right, and the service very welcoming. I just wish the portions were a bit bigger, with more fish inside the rolls. They seem to have decent lunch deals.

Totally thrilled. Eating gluten-free is no problem there. They seem very informed about what to look out for and are also extremely prepared. The employees are extremely nice. The food is also super tasty and fresh.

Ich war skeptisch, in eine Sushi-Bar zu gehen, die ich nicht kenne, denn wir haben zu Hause eine sehr gute Adresse, aber meine Tochter hat mich überredet. Wir haben uns also von der Karte 2 schöne Menüs ausgewählt und bekamen dann für 44 € (inkl. Mineralwasser und Bitter Lemon) ein hervorragendes Sushi, dass wirklich frisch und sehr lecker schmeckte und ….das sogar um einiges günstiger war, als das Sushi, dass wir sonst bei uns zu Hause von der Sushi- Bar holen. Und da gibt es keine leckere Suppe vorweg! Die Bedienung war super nett, freundlich und bemüht. Und weil es uns dort so gut gefallen hat, sind wir an 3 von 4 Abenden dort essen gegangen :-). Für uns steht fest, sind wir wieder mal in Bonn, werden wir auf jeden Fall noch einmal dort essen gehen.

We've eaten sushi in a few places around the world, but the best sushi is at Ichiban Sushibar in Bonn. We always go to Bonn and enjoy the food in a friendly atmosphere. We always feel welcome. We always have Sake Nanban and Hyashi Wakame as a starter, which is a real treat.

It was a very good decision to have dinner here: super friendly staff, delicious sushi (also good value for money), cozy dining area. It's not the nicest restaurant in terms of decor, but it's still clean and inviting.

I lived in Bonn three years ago and was a regular customer at Ichiban Restaurant. Now, after three years, I returned and was very excited to visit Ichiban again and dine there with my husband. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the quality of the food, particularly the tuna and salmon. It was no longer as fresh as before, had a bad color and an unpleasant smell. It was a shame to see that the quality had deteriorated so much. Do not recommend.

Nothing can be said against the quality of the food. But the prices are clearly excessive. I eat at Japanese restaurants regularly and found the quantity and price not to be right here. Why does a small bottle of water cost over 5 EUR? I initially asked if it was blessed by a priest, but it wasn't. The ambience of the restaurant is at the lower end of the Scala. The tables are small, the chairs uncomfortable and the interior suggests that this was once a boutique, but certainly not a restaurant. No, I'm definitely not coming back.

It was okay. 23€ for 24 sushis and a drink isn't expensive, but it wasn't filling at all. Compared to other sushi bars, the food was very bland. If it's your first time eating sushi, it's okay, but not recommended if you want to eat good sushi.

It was my first time eating sushi and I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu. I would have liked the service person to help me and perhaps introduce me to the kitchen. Instead, people just shook their heads - along the lines of “what are you even doing here?” That started well. So I just felt very uncomfortable. When you try out a new cuisine, you move out of your comfort zone. It was the same with the fact that I didn't watch a tutorial on how to eat with chopsticks. When I asked if they could give me a fork if necessary, the response was again very rude. When I wanted to pay, the amount was approximately 52 and I then said 56 before the lady typed in 60. Want an 8 euro tip for the service? Whether she misheard or did it on purpose, I have no idea. The fact that I tipped at all is a lot. The food was delicious, but the ambience and furnishings were cool, which was only topped by the unfriendliness of the service staff. Total gatekeeping at this point. Well then, no sushi.

High quality sushi. Portions comparatively small. Ambience rather cool, tables relatively close together and noisy. Recommended food but no place to linger longer in comfort.

There is a curtain hanging here that reminds me of an animal testing laboratory, then you sit on elementary school chairs and the color of the walls reminds me of a psychiatric hospital. The bowls for the soy sauce were not clean, the menu is very unprofessional, there is no salt in the soup… The wasabi dried out and what was ordered didn't arrive + the chopsticks are, well, cheap (taste like wood)

We've been eating sushi here for years because we still thought it was the best sushi bar in Bonn. Today we took “Osaka” twice and “San Shyok” once to make our son happy. To cut a long story short: we were very disappointed. The quality of the sushi didn't stand out from what you can now get in every other supermarket. The rice was dry and didn't seem like real sushi rice, at least not the good quality kind. Some of the nori sheets were also dry and stuck in your mouth. The friendly service, as always, doesn't make up for that. We would have been better off investing the almost 60 euros somewhere else. Very unfortunate.

I don’t know how this could be possible with fresh ingredients, maybe the ingredients were just not tasty enough to my taste. Thank you!✨ The sushi tasted completely fresh! However, the taste was very lacking. We also tried baked salmon and miso soup as starters and they were very tasty. Service and atmosphere are the one of the best I have ever experienced!

Hey, mit Sicherheit der beste Sushitempel in Bonn. Hinter dem Tresen agiert ein wahrer Künstler. Es macht schon Freude, den Meister beim tranchieren eines Fisches zu beobachten. Dass der Fisch absolut frisch ist, bedarf keiner weiteren Erwähnung. Ich finde übrigens auch die Preise vollkommen angemessen.

Sehr leckeres Sushi, klassisch. Einfache Einrichtung. Super freundlicher Service. Sind seit Jahren Stammkunden und haben hier gleichbleibend hohe Qualität und viel Freundlichkeit über viele Jahre bekommen. Gern weiter so.

Einfaches Sushi für einen recht günstigen Preis und einer guten Qulität!!😊 Ich gehe dort sehr gerne hin, die Kellner sind sehr nett und es gibt keine langen Wartezeiten. Die Toiletten sind auch recht sauber. Es hat eine angenehme Atmosphäre , da muss ich zugeben dass ich immer sehr gerne lieber draußen sitze als drinnen. Sehr empfehlenswert wenn man auf einfaches Sushi Lust hat und nicht alzu große Erwartungen, als wäre es ein 5 Sterne Restaurant. ^~^

Ich bin hier regelmäßig mit meiner Freundin essen :) Das Sushi ist was Preisleistung angeht wirklich Top. Das Sushi hat eine wirklich gute Qualität und der Laden ist sehr sauber. Gerade im Sommer sitzt man auch wirklich sehr gut Draußen und kann sich über ein angenehm ruhiges Ambiente erfreuen, mitten in Bonn. Das Personal wirkt überhaupt nicht hektisch - und arbeitet doch sehr zügig & ist sehr freundlich. Für mich ein sehr simples Restaurant - aber doch ein Restaurant zu dem ich gerne immer wieder hingehe. Sehr empfehlenswert!
