Hotel-Restaurant Meistertrunk in Herne

Hotel war ok, haben "nur" einen Schlafplatz benötigt, wegen einem Konzert und daher wars ausreichend. Das Hotel ist leider in die Jahre gekommen ( etwas Herzblut & Geld & es wäre richtig toll ). Wir wurden nett in Empfang genommen & Infos die wir suchten, haben wir bekommen + nette Leute kennen gelernt, die auch aufs Konzert wollten.

Habe dort gegessen. War mit meinem Seniorenscuter im Aussenbereich.Sehr freundliches Personal und aufmerksam. Preis- Leistung supper.Gehe noch mal mit einigen Freunden hin. Essen war eifach himlich😁👍

Whisky Tasting wurde veranstaltet.

Sehr nettes Hotel, etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber so etwas mag ich ja. Man kann dort auch sehr gut essen - deutsche Küche. Das Frühstück ist okay. Das größte Manko ist eigentlich die Parkplatzsituation. Da das Hotel mitten im Zentrum liegt und wohl auch schon älter ist, gibt es keine Hoteleigenen Parkplätze. Die angrenzenden Parkplätze sind zum Teil reichlich vorhanden, haben aber Parkscheibenpflicht und sind dementsprechend zeitlich begrenzt. Trotzdem, sollte es wieder sein, würde ich das Hotel wieder nehmen. Kleiner Nachtrag: Die Kirche steht gleich nebendran und sie hat schöne Glocken. 😉

Der Service war super! Das Zimmer reichte für unsere Zwecke(nur übernachten) aus, aber zum Entspannen und Urlaub machen hätte ich das Zimmer nicht nochmal bezogen, da der Ausblick alles andere als schön war. Ein kleines bisschen sauberer hätte es sein können, aber das ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Achja mit kleinkind eher nicht geeignet, da mit Treppen und ohne Fahrstuhl und die Parkplatzsituation eher nicht so gut war.

Riesen großes Zimmer, sogar mit kleinem Balkon, alles sehr sauber das Badezimmer neu saniert. Es gibt dort sogar Fenster . Der Schreibtisch unterhalb des Fernseher sowie die Möbel sind ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen und ein wenig altmodisch, dafür gibt es aber ausreichend Stauraum.

We have been customers of this restaurant for many years, and we cannot understand some of the negative reviews. Over all these years, the food has almost always been of the same high standard. If something wasn't quite perfect, a quiet, discreet suggestion was all it took, and the problem was promptly rectified, whether by bringing us a new dish or canceling the order. The staff were long-term employees, and friendliness was clearly a top priority. We had no complaints there either. A return visit for lunch on the second Sunday of Advent confirmed our decision to return again. Sometimes the old saying applies here too: "You reap what you sow!" We enjoy going to this restaurant and like it just the way it is.

We have eaten at Restaurant Meistertrunk many times, both for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, and we have always received excellent service. The food is all delicious and beautifully presented. The lunch menu is also very reasonably priced. Thank you! We will gladly return again and again.

I was there for dinner on November 25, 2025, for the second time and can only say: quite delicious, decent portions and attentive service.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I did eat at the restaurant. I would say the food is traditional German fare, but also exceptionally high-quality, creatively combined, and very flavorful. The menu is quite extensive, but not so much that the quality of the food suffers. We were a group, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the Holsteiner Schnitzel, and it was delicious. The waiter was attentive, polite, and also very kind and friendly. Every year, we happily travel from afar to Meistertrunk to celebrate the birthday of a dear relative.

Very good ambience and delicious breakfast.

We checked in there for one night yesterday and ate in the restaurant. The food was delicious, as was the breakfast. Plenty of coffee and orange juice, eggs, rolls and bread, cold cuts and jams. Highly recommended. If we have tickets for the Moon Palace again, we will go there again.

7.50 for a large bottle of mineral water might be acceptable in Düsseldorf, but not in Wanne-Eickel. Food prices have also risen sharply. I understand that costs have risen for restaurants as well, but everything has its limits.

I absolutely cannot understand the good reviews. We were at Meistertrunk over the weekend and were completely shocked. The reception alone was completely rude. We were given a seat directly behind the entrance on the left. It was very dark and uncomfortable to sit in. The aisles were also very narrow; my grandmother had a walking frame with her, and we could barely store it there. Then we waited about 20 minutes until someone brought us our menus and took our drink orders. Another 20 minutes later, our drinks arrived, and only then were our meals served. If I had been there alone, I would have gotten up long ago and gone to the Sorbas Grill. But since my grandmother has a disability, that was out of the question. As for the food: there were a few fruit flies at the salad buffet, and some of it looked truly unappetizing. Our schnitzel and the sauces that went with it... unfortunately, we found it completely inedible. Firstly, it was cold, and secondly, it tasted really bad. And even the fries... They weren't fries like you'd expect. We even found the presentation to be substandard... all in all... we've never had such bad food, and we've never been served so unfriendly. Never again...

We often eat here with family and/or friends. It's excellent. No matter what we order, it's always a delight. We'd definitely be happy to come back. I can't comment on the hotel, as I've never used it. We live in the neighboring town.

Ich habe eine Spargelcremesuppe und Surf n‘ Turf bestellt. Kurz gesagt alles eine Katastrophe. Die Spargelcremesuppe hatte nichts mit Creme zutun. Sie war schlicht und einfach wässerig und lauwarm. Das Surf n‘ Turf war nicht genau zu definieren. Lieblos angerichtet, Turf sah eher aus wie Gulasch. Surf bestand aus drei kleinen Garnelen. Soße schmeckte nach Tüte. Die Bedienung war arrogant und unfreundlich. Die Krönung kam eine Stunde später als ich zuhause war, und äußerte sich in einem dringenden Toilettenbesuch.

Super das Essen die Zutaten alles heiß Mann konnte mit Genuss langsam essen.Das Personal freundlich,unaufdringlich dennoch passte man auf ob der Gast noch einen Wunsch hatte obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war. Prei Leistung passen hervorragend

Nice restaurant with delicious food.

One of the best hotel experiences so far. Despite our short-term request, the service was fantastic, uncomplicated processing and good value for money included. There are also clean, beautiful rooms with a more classic interior. Last but not least, the associated restaurant was a great end to the experience. Mainly German dishes with a seasonal menu in impeccable execution. Absolute recommendation for hotel and restaurant.

We were in the restaurant. We were welcomed by a very unpleasant and annoyed waitress. Order was taken incorrectly and no apology was given. Food was too salty. We often enjoyed being there but never again.

We were there for Christmas dinner on December 25th, food was ok, normal standard service was friendly, there was a menu with soup and dessert Tiramisu, at 8:10 p.m. I asked for our dessert oh I heard for a moment, then they brought us a scoop of ice cream that was almost soft completely melted without any extras like slapped on, I asked what that was about, Tiramisu is all the waiter said! O.K. we could have said something beforehand and made everything a little nicer, but we had to pay for the same thing. At 8:30 p.m. we moved the tables together and started cleaning, very comfortable, absolutely no go!

We were there today for Christmas breakfast. There was a delicious buffet! But what's even more important to me is the friendly service, who, as a scooter driver, naturally asked me if she could bring me something to the table...that's never happened to me before! Thank you !

Were in the restaurant for the first time, we didn't use the hotel. Overall it was very good. We really enjoyed the food, it was fresh and perfect. A tomato soup as a starter was a tasty large portion. The schnitzels are freshly breaded, delicious sauces etc. We liked that the fried potatoes were separate, as were the onions that were ordered with them. The salad buffet is very large and I have never experienced anything like it before. There is something for every taste on the large menu. The drinks menu is also extensive; I found the special beer with elderberry very tasty. The selection of schnapps is huge. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the benches are comfortable. Clean and well maintained. The service was good overall. We were warmly welcomed and served. Special requests were easily fulfilled. Some bread with dips, olives and sheep's cheese was given free of charge, which was good. We would have liked a little more attention later on. We were quite late, so only a few tables were occupied towards the end. We didn't understand why we were so rarely checked on. The price of the visit was completely reasonable, but in our experience it was a little more expensive. The quality was right. Overall, a clear recommendation and we would be happy to come back.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel from September 5th to September 8th. Unfortunately we were very disappointed: - small, very dark room with very old furniture -almost no light -After an overnight stay, the room wasn't cleaned and the trash can wasn't emptied -almost impossible to get internet -simple breakfast -absent hotel manager who could have been spoken to -Staff not particularly pleasant who don't have time to respond to questions Compared to our stay in the Harz the days before: One night with breakfast: €95 -very large room with balcony -Internet -Breakfast buffet -very nice hotel owners

We went there for lunch and I was very disappointed. There was a lunch menu with various dishes, most of which I didn't particularly like, so I chose the plaice fillet, only to be told that it wasn't in stock because the boss still had to go shopping. We were then able to choose from the menu and I decided on a paprika schnitzel. As a starter there was a soup that couldn't be defined and didn't taste good either. The schnitzel wasn't particularly special either, the fries were sticky and poorly seasoned, and the paprika sauce wasn't particularly tasty either. The dessert was okay, there was a white mousse with quince. All in all, very disappointing and not recommended.

Yesterday I was there for dinner with my colleagues. We were very well looked after. Things are looking a bit bad with parking spaces, but maybe that just has to do with the fact that I don't know much about Herne. The food was excellent, tasty and beautifully presented. My colleagues and I would be happy to come back for our Christmas dinner. We'll discuss this sometime. 🤩

Four women of us were there for dinner and had a voucher book. We had the feeling that guests with voucher books were not welcomed there. Food was good but not exceptional. The smell of fish from the neighboring table was pungent, so we left the restaurant immediately after we had eaten our food. Otherwise nice restaurant, lots of space.

Very nice atmosphere. Winter garden and beer garden. Menu is for everyone. Food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Not always positive, but all in all this is a chic restaurant with good home-style cuisine that is recommended. Positive: - great, inviting atmosphere - interesting menu - tastes good - good price-performance level Negative: -Please continue to work on the service - If crème brullée is on the menu, it must be homemade and please not a convenience product - Advertising in the menu is an absolute no-go!

The food was very tasty, but unfortunately the service wasn't the most polite. After eating I had to order a drink three times before I got one. The waitress put everyone's drinks in front of them, only my partner's drink remained on the tablet and the waitress moved on with it. Super annoying. We don't need it again :(

We had dinner at Meistertrunk and it was masterfully prepared. 😋 The portion size sometimes pushed us to the limits, but as we all know, that's a personal problem. In the winter garden you are good and have an overview of the surroundings. The toilets are clean. We'd love to come back.

We were here with a mobile additional voucher from the voucher book. At first there were questioning faces among the staff, but then there was someone who already had experience with it. Everything was fine and the voucher was accepted. The staff was very friendly and tried hard, it couldn't be better. The food was generously sized to fill you up and served attractively. Prices are high but not too much for what is on offer. Only when the bill came did a dish suddenly turn out to be a little more expensive than stated on the menu. When we asked, this card was suddenly no longer available, which was pretty strange. But otherwise a successful evening!

We went to Meistertrunk with the report booklet and left more than satisfied and fed up. The food was very tasty and plentiful. We were served soup and dessert with the dish we ordered (not a daily menu). The prices were ok. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The orders were filled quickly. Even though it was very good to do. We would be happy to come back (even without a voucher booklet).

KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF IF YOU HAVE A FOOD BLOCK. Despite being advised when making a reservation (with confirmation via email) and on site at the reception our SchlemmerBlock voucher was not accepted. Seems like it wasn't the first time when you read the reviews from other guests. The waitress was also very unfriendly and you had to wait 15 minutes for your first drink order. Then, without being asked, we were given soup without telling us that it had meat, and one of us ordered a vegetarian dish. When the waitress asked if the soup wasn't tasty, she complained that we should have said so beforehand. I ordered schnitzel with cranberries and fries. Schnitzel was OK, the fries were repeatedly fried. When I paid it was said that the gourmet block could not be redeemed. impudence. NEVER AGAIN. An appeal to all voucher holders. Avoid this store. You save absolutely nothing, you leave the store annoyed.

The location is easy to reach by bus and tram, and there are also parking spaces nearby. Service was ok, food was really tasty.

Were there on a Monday. Reception was friendly. The staff/waiters were friendly and attentive. The drinks and food were delivered quickly. My grill plate was very good. Great meat, homemade fries with Ajvar and onions. Everything my heart desires. I think my 3 blackheads felt the same way. The prices for Wanne-Eickel conditions are in the upper range. But as the saying goes, if you spend a euro more you'll get something good. Unfortunately there was no nightcap on the house after the meal. That would have made the whole thing perfect. It's a shame, I'm used to something different.

Very good service, food is over the top for the price level, the hotel has very little to offer for the location (parking lot) and the natural aging of the rooms. We came here for 3 days due to a funeral and found ourselves well looked after. Breakfast served to the number of people including request (free of charge - must be mentioned here) Extras - on point. Stayed here for one night. The room was clean and lovingly furnished. In the evening I had dinner in the restaurant. Fantastic rump steak! Special requests will be accommodated. Very friendly - recommended!

I cannot recommend the restaurant more highly. We got there with the voucher block, where we were immediately informed that this block was not valid for them. They are in this block. But that looks similar. The fries weren't cooked. The service staff made a face, unbelievable! It was now the third time I was in the store, but it's over now.

Restaurant was completely empty on a Wednesday evening and it's understandable. The prices on the online card are no longer correct; a significant price increase was added after the VAT increase. And this is completely unjustified for service and quality. Some of the side dishes were cold, some came too late and the fries were raw at the end. The hints were only followed by “I’ll tell the kitchen”. This doesn't really help. The full price was also charged for this. The portions were also a joke considering the price. The taste wasn't right either front or back. That's where everything goes wrong. Catastrophic.

The room in the attic was very small and cramped. There was also no air conditioning (the sun was shining outside at a good 30 degrees), so it was far too warm. The night wasn't really relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and the selection was sufficient. The staff is very friendly. The central location in Eickel is great. The city park with the petting zoo can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. There are several snack bars, ice cream parlors and pubs in the immediate vicinity. There is also a tram stop nearby to Bochum or Wanne. And a bus stop towards Herne and Wattenscheid.

We had dinner there with some friends. My steak plate for 30.90 euros was a joke, there were 3 small pieces of fillet on it, one of which was still tough. Furthermore, our friends' sweet potato fries were cold and the normal fries were half raw. I don't know what they do in the kitchen, it has little to do with cooking. The price-performance ratio is not correct in any respect. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

It used to be good, but now the service has deteriorated. Some dishes were made smaller and prices were increased. The overall package is satisfactory and nothing more.

Die Zutaten zum Essen, ochsenbäckchen und Fisch waren gut, das Ergebnis der Zubereitung dürftig. Soße der Bäckchen Sehr fade, die Fischpfanne (mit Weißwein/Senfsoße annonciert) war ohne jede ohne irgendeine Geschmacksrichtung . Auf meine Nachfrage wurde erklärt, dass absichtlich an Gewürzen gespart wird, wegen des älteren Publikums, dass mit dem Durchschnittsgeschmack besser zurecht kommt. Schade nur für uns .
