For our group, the Mettlager Hof was a home away from home after the hikes, with a chef who let us end the day with a delicious meal in the evening and sent us on our way to the dream trails along the Saarschleife with breakfast.

I was just there for dinner with my girlfriend and can really only recommend eating there.

Four of us had dinner in the beer garden. We all enjoyed the food exceptionally well. The side salad was garnished with a variety of sprouts. The Dalat sauce was enriched with excellent vinegar and oil. The meat, vegetables, and fries were very well prepared. The service was pleasant, attentive, and friendly. The ice cream and mousse on offer were delicious. We look forward to another excellent meal there.

The food was truly delicious – compliments to the kitchen! 👨‍🍳 Unfortunately, the impression was completely ruined by the host. Our group slightly rearranged tables – as a result, we were publicly and inappropriately reprimanded. ❌ No conversation, no tone of politeness – absolutely unprofessional. 🕙 Although service continued until 10 p.m., we were subsequently accused of staying outside "too late." This seemed arbitrary and very unfriendly. 😠 🚫 Hygiene & Safety: 🧼 No soap dispenser in the restroom and no light 🚨 No smoke detectors in the rooms 🚪 Escape routes barely marked Conclusion: Good food alone isn't enough. Hospitality? None. 👎

An insider tip in Mettlach. Currently, by far the best food in Mettlach! Here, the cooking is still good and the refined culinary experience is offered. Whether burgers or schnitzel – delicious and worth every penny. The patio in the backyard is a great place to sit, a cozy little corner.

I really liked the Hotel Mettlacher Hof Restaurant. I was invited there to celebrate the club's 40th anniversary, but I haven't stayed overnight (yet). Dinner consisted of a very tasty grill buffet with various types of meat, great homemade salads, a tasty appetizer buffet and three different desserts. All club members and guests enjoyed it very much! It was a successful evening in the Hotel Mettlacher Hof-Restaurant.

Reset: As far as the food isn't concerned... I can actually call myself a regular since we meet there once a month for a regular's table. However, last night, when the boss (cook) left the kitchen for the first time and wanted to serve pizzas on the outside terrace, the mood suddenly escalated. As I passed our table, I jokingly called out to him, "Detlef, it's taking a long time today." He turned around and started shouting "one more word and I'll punch you in the face" His wife excused his behavior by saying he was in pain all day. Super nice, friendly and, very important in the restaurant, delicious stay at the Mettlacher Hof Restaurant. The two hosts kindly opened the kitchen and the beer garden for us an hour earlier because we were so hungry. Absolutely recommended and thanks again to the hosts. P.s. Schöne Lokalität zum Feiern. Bedienung sehr nett und freundlich. Essen war sehr gut. Liegt in ruhiger Lage mit ausreichend Parkplätzen.

Mit einer Gruppe Freunden eine Übernachtung gebucht. Der Chef des Hauses hat uns sehr nett empfangen und von seiner Leidenschaft als Koch erzählt. Er hat nicht zuviel versprochen. Das Abendessen war ausgesprochen gut. Im Wintergarten hatten wir noch einen Absacker und freuten uns anschließend auf das Frühstück. Das konnte die Erwartungen leider nicht erfüllen. Eier gab es nicht - die Chefin hatte vergessen, welche einzukaufen!? Schinken, Obst, Tomaten oder Gurken - Fehlanzeige. Hier ist Luft nach oben. Die Zimmer sind neu gemacht. Man sieht leider an manchen Stellen die Eigenleistung. Schade wenn man an der Straßenseite schläft. Dort ist es bei schrägen Fenstern zu laut. Zum verschlossen halten fehlt eine Klimaanlage, da es dann zu heiß ist. Zum Innenhof hin wird es mit dem Lärm eventuell besser sein. Bei einem Mitreisenden war kein Duschgel in der Dusche. Das sollte laut Chefin aufgefüllt werden, was aber nicht geschah. Zum Glück hatte er selbst etwas dabei. Alles in allem von drei Hotels auf der Tour nur der letzte Platz.

Hat Spaß gemacht und das Essen war lecker.

Hotel geboekt n.a.v. De positieve beoordelingen. Ontvangst zeer matig. Omgeving troosteloos. Gang en trappenhuis waren aan renovatie en een sopje toe. Traplening plakte. Kamer was goed. Schoon en goed bed. Handdoeken aan vervanging toe. Gehorig en vervelend dat de buurman al om 6.00 uur opstond en veel herrie maakte. Ontbijt ( met heerlijke zelfgemaakte jam en honing) was goed. Lekkere koffie. Diner was prima, gastheer was vriendelijk.

Familie Mastel verwöhnt uns immer wieder mit hervorragenden Gerichten und Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Ein Koch, der Spass daran hat, seine Gäste zu verwöhnen und ein Gastgeberehepaar, dass sich sehr um die Zufriedenheit seiner Gäste bemüht. Die beste Küche in Mettlach! alles frisch und selbstgemacht.

Die zweite Übernachtung auf unserer Tour machten wir im Mettlacher Hof und waren wiederum total Begeistert, sehr freundlich wurden wir empfangen, hier macht der Chef alles, Fahrräder in die Garage stellen, Rezeption und die Küche, Abendessen und Frühstück einfach klasse, Danke nochmals

Der Chef (Koch) und die Chefin (Bedienung) sind sehr nett und um die Gäste bemüht. Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft, Preis-Leistung stimmt, und der Gastraum ist auch nett zurechtgemacht. ABER: Die Küche befindet sich direkt neben dem Gastraum, was nicht so dramatisch wäre, wenn es nicht nur 1 Tür von diesem Gastraum zur Küche gäbe, und diese Tür dann auch noch permanent offen stünde. Die Geräusche, die aus der Küche dringen, sind noch nicht einmal so störend, aber die ganzen Dämpfe und Gerüche.......das geht gar nicht! Der komplette Gastraum ist vernebelt und steht unter Dunst und dementsprechend "duftet" man als Gast auch nach dem Verlassen dieses Lokals. Das ist wirklich sehr schade, aber einfach zu beheben!

Die Speisen waren bei gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Die Bedienung (Chefin) war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Tische waren ansprechend eingedeckt. An den Speisen und am Ambiente gäbe es nichts auszusetzen, wenn nicht die Verbindungstür zwischen Küche und dem Gastraum permanent geöffnet gewesen wäre. Die Küchengerüche und -dünste haben sich so im gesamten Gastraum ausgebreitet. Jeder Gast hatte so die Gelegenheit, die Küchendüfte in der Kleidung mit nach Hause zu nehmen.
