I would describe the Luley Hotel Restaurant as a traditional inn... This quality of hospitality has become rare these days. Genuine, tasty German cuisine without unnecessary frills is what you'll find here. (If you're looking for yellow-billed Tibetan orchid chicken with caviar rice and wasabi filling, you've come to the wrong place.) My conclusion: The food is tasty, plentiful, and the portions are more than adequate. At lunchtime, there are two choices of regular dishes. The staff is friendly and efficient. In summer, you can sit in the beer garden. I would recommend making a table reservation by phone to save the hard-working staff from being hectic. And at the very end of my review, I'd like to say...if I could award 6 stars, I would do it here.

We often come for lunch on Thursdays. The food is always very good and it's always very quick, practically without any waiting time.

Very good food, predominantly German cuisine, and very reasonably priced. There are also two lunch specials. Always busy at lunch --> Reservations recommended There's a nice beer garden outside and a courtyard for outdoor seating. Parking is available nearby.

The schnitzel tastes very strange

Small but perfectly formed—there's no better way to describe this restaurant. The interior is divided into two dining rooms and a lovely beer garden. It's simply furnished without being overly decorated. The booths offer space for four to seven people, and the ambiance invites you to linger. Unfortunately, the beer garden can be a bit noisy at times due to the main intersection of two federal highways. Some people find this annoying, while others don't see it as a problem. The food... The dishes are highly recommended and offer excellent value for money. The dishes are classic, home-style cooking with variations of schnitzel or grilled dishes. Most dishes are served with a starter salad. There's also a weekly specials menu with two dishes each week. The dishes are also available for pick-up/take-away. The service is also fantastic, in my opinion, because they're very flexible with orders and can accommodate requests to a great extent. Since space is rarely available spontaneously due to high demand, reservations should be made in advance by phone. For two people, it can sometimes even be arranged spontaneously. Tuesdays are closed, and on holidays, there are usually special menus with special dishes. In conclusion: Call, reserve, and enjoy the delicious food.

Solid German cuisine. Prices are unbeatably cheap. The food was okay, as was the service until we ate. Unfortunately, no one bothered to look after us after the meal, which is a shame.

We went there on Sunday, right when it opened, without a reservation. The manager was on top of things, and we were able to stay. We were extremely satisfied. The menu is a trip back to the 90s, but it's fantastic.

We came here for the first time on a recommendation. From the outside, you think... well, let's see. But when the food arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Huge praise to the kitchen. It was fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

Great beer, tasty schnitzels & awesome service - very friendly

Addendum: We now eat there every 4-6 weeks. This time we opted for a small rump steak and the small asparagus plate. We paid €51.50 with two wheat beers and a Coke. Service was top-notch, as always. Fast and very friendly. And the food was delicious again. We came across this German restaurant through recommendations. You have to make a reservation!!! The service was very friendly and polite. We were served quickly. We had 8 large Cokes, 2 regular schnitzels, 1 grilled platter for two people, 1 extra cream sauce, and two extra side dishes (we didn't need them, but our eyes were bigger... :-) The portions are quite large. The price/performance ratio is 100% right here. Everything was delicious. And the starter salad... mmmm. Great. I can recommend eating there to everyone. We'll be back!

Been here for lunch. Quite a large map. The daily special with soup 9 euros. Senior schnitzel with salad 11. And it really tasted good. Inside, time has stood still. But what the heck... After all, you don’t live here 🙂.

The restaurant has many positive reviews, which I unfortunately cannot understand and unfortunately can mislead people like my wife and me. In our opinion, neither the food nor the ambience were good, there is no reason for us to come back and we are very disappointed. I had a cordon bleu with fries and salad for 12.90 or so, which is of course very cheap. My wife had a schnitzel. The breading on the schnitzel fell off and looked dirty, as if several schnitzels had been fried in the same fat, which is a no-go for good quality in a restaurant. The meat was really very thick and there were lots of rubbery fat spots, which you don't necessarily want. I'm Swabian and grew up with schnitzel and gravy and wouldn't describe what's on offer there as schnitzel. It just doesn't meet the minimum requirements. When I was brought a brown gravy at my personal request, but it tasted like chicken stock and was completely orange, the evening was over for me. I will never come there again. Suggestion for improvement: Leave the salad out of the schnitzel menu. Make everything €2 more expensive and work on better quality, maybe with a regional butcher or something. And renovate or paint the beer garden and buy new, uniform tables. PS: you don't drink Pilsner with your schnitzel. Even if you like it, you just have to change your attitude here. It would be nice if there was a Helles, a Zwickel or a Märzen on tap. If that happens, I'll be happy to come back

Consistently good food in familiar surroundings for decades

Delicious food at fair prices. Typical German restaurant with somewhat older furnishings but everything is clean and cozy with lots of tables in niches. It was our first time there, but definitely not the last time.

Speisekarte sehr fleischlastig. Wird wohl bei Älteren assoziiert mit „Gutbürgerlich“. Gesunde Küche mit Fisch und vegetarischen Gerichten sucht man vergeblich. Die Preise sind günstig, was wohl nur geht, weil es sich um einen Familienbetrieb handelt. Anderenfalls wäre das nicht möglich. Portionen sind gut bemessen, geschmacklich in Ordnung, lobend zu erwähnen, dass mit Salz sparsam umgegangen wird. Inneneinrichtung nostalgisch aus den Siebzigern/Achtzigern, alles sauber und gepflegt. Ich habe den Altersdurchschnitt sehr drastisch gesenkt.

Unfortunately, currently (Thursday) only a reduced selection of menus can be ordered at lunchtime. I was actually looking forward to roulade, but then had to switch to paprika schnitzel. The food itself tastes good and the portions are generous - but the selection was very limited that day (2-3 dishes available to order). Overall really good value for money.

The food is good. Almost only German dishes. The prices are very moderate and the portions are large. The ambience is not that appealing now, but if you want to eat well and cheaply and enjoy good service, this is the place for you.

We had the cream schnitzel with spaetzle, unfortunately the spaetzle were completely overcooked, the sauce was a finished product in my opinion, but at a price of €9.50 you can't expect more. The best was the salad.

Long-established restaurant with a special charm (generations have sat on these chairs). It's very comfortable to sit in the beer garden with the big trees, but in the summer you don't see much of the main street. The people who work there are very close to the guests, super friendly and quick. Many have been going there for ages. Anyone who likes that kind of thing will feel at home in a second...

Wie immer: Getränke ratzfatz auf dem Tisch, die Speisen superlecker, die Servicemädels immer mit einem lockeren Spruch und sehr aufmerksam ! Wir hatten im Garten gebucht, wobei uns der späte Regen nach innen trieb - was soll ich sagen: Obwohl drinnen ebenfalls reserviert war, bekamen wir für den ganzen Abend einen Topplatz - nochmals Danke hierfür !!! Und man ahnt es schon: Zu meinem Geburtstag bekam ich einen großzügigen Gutschein für einen weiter Abend beim "Luley" ! Ich freue mich drauf !!!

Very tasty at really good prices.

We were lucky to be there on Monday around 6:00 p.m. Daring! With a lot of luck we were able to get one of the last free tables for two people. Now we know why: Delicious food and really lovely staff. My grandpa would have said: If only my hump was also a stomach! And not only that, many orders were picked up for home. We would like to come again. Thank you very much, we liked it so much.

Food from the assembly line... That seems to be exactly the program here. But before taking a closer look at the food, first take a closer look at the positive aspects: The atmosphere is very rustic, which is initially a very positive thing. The service is very nice and accommodating. There are parking spaces directly at the house. Unfortunately, these are very limited. Now to the food: We had mushroom cream schnitzel with fries and salad, gypsy schnitzel (yes it says that on the menu) with fries and salad and a daily menu roulade with dumplings and salad and first of all a soup. According to the statement, the soup was good and homemade. At first glance, the salads seemed diverse and fresh. But only at first glance. Because disillusionment quickly set in. Except for cucumber salad and coleslaw, the salads were all canned salads that were carelessly slapped onto the plate. The leaf lettuce didn't really see any dressing either. Canned salads may be fine for those who are lazy about cooking quickly at home, but as a restaurateur with fresh ingredients on your doorstep you shouldn't allow yourself to do something like that. Now let's first come to the best of the 3 dishes: the mushroom cream schnitzel. The portion size was very manageable. There was no sign of the large portions so praised. The schnitzel was very thin and very tough in places. The roulade was also very small and overloaded with filling, so the weight of the meat was less than the filling. The sauce was lukewarm to cold and the dumplings had probably never seen salt water. Apparently you can't make dumplings in Hesse, even though it's actually a very simple thing. The biggest disaster was the gypsy schnitzel. Apparently people at Luley don't know what the ingredients of a so-called schnitzel are: pureed tomatoes, chili sauce, pepperoni, peppers and onions. This is what a real gypsy schnitzel should be like. A drained canned Puszta salad was served, far dry and sour, spread over a child's shoe sole called schnitzel that had been fried to death. It's a complete impudence to serve such kitchen waste on a schnitzel. The portion size is also significantly too small, but fortunately only so small due to its inedibility. I often felt the urge to vomit because of the disgusting taste of the pad. I've never been served such food before. Conclusion: once and never again. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is really nice. I don't understand the reviews here at all. Either people only eat ready-made food and are no longer used to real home cooking or they feel obligated. Because there was no sign of the delicious food on offer. A pork schnitzel that had to die twice, a cold roulade and canned salad. In view of this, the prices are clearly too expensive because they are below canteen level.

We were invited here by friends for lunch. All I can say is the food was great. We recommend the grill plate with beef fillet and pork fillet with vegetables, croquettes and fries as a starter and a side salad is included. My wife had a natural veal schnitzel with chanterelles. I can also recommend it. There is also a nice beer garden where you can sit very well. If you plan to come here you should reserve well in advance. We will definitely be back and kudos to the staff and chef who are always on top of their game.
