Starter with smaller portions but higher price! The communication is extremely poor. When asked if they could combine the regional specialties into an appetizer platter (a bit of everything), they were told the price was €18 – assuming, since no further information was provided, that this was the total price. Even when I asked again whether the price was €18, this was confirmed with a yes. Then, at the checkout, came the rude awakening: The main course and drink were predictable, but the starter was absolutely utopian. Even if you had ordered all the dishes individually and in full size, the average price would have been just over €15 per person. For €18, you got a platter with small portions and paid even more. Absolutely absurd, and from my perspective, both in terms of price and communication. This will probably be the last time I eat at this restaurant.

When we asked the staff, we were told the regional appetizer platter cost €18. When the bill came, it was suddenly €18 per person, which for four people came to €72, which is a completely unrealistic price for the platter. If you make a mistake, you should take responsibility and not let others pay for it. But no problem, we'll avoid this place in the future.

I liked it. Finding a parking space was difficult because I didn't recognize the sign pointing to the restaurant's private parking lot.

I come here almost every day, sometimes with customers from the Far East and Asia. The team is very attentive. Traditional food, and plenty of options for Generation Z: vegetarian or fresh and spicy. My personal favorite: salad with turkey breast and grilled feta cheese. Next comes the pepper schnitzel with creamy pepper sauce and green peppercorns. Waitress Sunny is very attentive and always offers the right thing, at exactly the right time. It's like everywhere else: be nice to people, and they'll be nice to you. High praise for the best restaurant in town.

We had a very tasty Frankfurter schnitzel. Dessert was also top-notch. We sat outside in a large group, so I can't say much about the atmosphere inside.

Great, rustic restaurant in Mörfelden with excellent regional cuisine. In addition to steaks, schnitzels, cordon bleu and Frankfurter Grie sauce, there were also various asparagus dishes and a handful of dishes of other origins. The beautiful beer garden for al fresco dining completes the ambience. We'd love to come back!

Nice outdoor area, but unfortunately, the quality of service and the food are declining. It used to work best when Jonas was on duty. Now they're letting the only professional employee go, and they're only employing temporary staff. Not good!

Great place. A great, traditional atmosphere inside and out. The food came super quickly and was delicious. The starter salad was served just a few minutes after the drinks, and the food just a few minutes later. The staff was friendly and relaxed. A definite recommendation!

If you want to try real Frankfurt cuisine in an authentic setting, this is one of the best places in the city. The place is spacious, ideal for large groups, and in the summer there is a nice summer terrace. The staff is very friendly - they found us a table despite being fully booked, and I would especially like to mention our waitress for her attentive service. The food is delicious, the prices are quite reasonable, and the location is very good.

The food was very tasty, no semi-finished products, but quality food. It was a bit frustrating waiting for dessert for more than 40 minutes, which in the end didn't even come. However, the service was nice and offered me compensation in the form of a discount. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very lively, it can be seen that the restaurant is one of the favorites. I will definitely be happy to return in the future when visiting the city.

A very nice beer garden and restaurant in a historic half-timbered house in the heart of Mörfelden. The asparagus with boiled ham and ice cream with hot raspberries were delicious. Special thanks to the excellent service, especially Nicole. We'd be happy to come back.

Very nice place with a large outdoor area. I tried the famous Viennese schnitzel and was very satisfied. Good breading, fried well and not heavy at all. The fries are also excellent. Too bad that when it was time for dessert we were told that the kitchen was closed. No post payments. Quick but not very attentive service. Prices normal.

The lunch menu in particular promises good quality food at very fair prices. The menu is very tasty. This was our third time there and we will always come back. Good team!

The environment is very nice and there is plenty of seating. The staff is polite and friendly, the service quick and very attentive. The food is very good, we tried multiple specialties and were surprised, the cutlets are large in size and the portions are not in short supply. But let's get to the sore points... Even though we were at opening time and had asked for desserts, they were not served to us as the kitchen was closing, ok we were among the last tables of the evening but as long as the place is declared open, everything requested should be served. Upon payment we were denied the possibility of paying by card as they do not have a POS. It is understandable that German laws allow you to refuse credit card transactions but in 2025 it would be a plus to have it. If they used a little more care to satisfy the customer, I don't deny that I would return.

The food (beef liver, braised onions + fried potatoes or pepper cream schnitzel + fries - both with salad) was very tasty and was served quickly. The service is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a reservation for the indoor area, but because of the nice weather, we were able to easily move outside - to the quiet and beautifully landscaped Biegarten (although if we had come an hour later, it probably wouldn't have worked out, because the outdoor area filled up pretty quickly). Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the Kaiserschmarrn that we ordered for dessert. We ordered it with two cappuccinos and wanted everything served together. After a while the drinks arrived and the Kaiserschmarrn was promised to us shortly afterwards. When we asked again after 5 minutes, we were told that the oven was broken and due to time constraints, we "cancelled" the Kaiserschmarrn and paid. The cappuccino was on the house, probably due to the Kaiserschmarrn disaster. Conclusion: We will definitely eat there again because the price/performance ratio is right and the service was very friendly.

It was a great stay. Perfect for anyone who drops off or picks up someone at the airport.

Unfortunately our visit wasn't that enjoyable, we ordered our food and drinks at the same time. The starter was ready within 2 minutes, but unfortunately we had to wait another 5 minutes for the drinks. The salads also came extremely quickly and of course the main course didn't take long to arrive - the whole thing went through in 13 minutes. The quality of the food left a lot to be desired - all dishes were unseasoned. Instead of a Viennese-style schnitzel, turkey was served; the fried potatoes were so dry that you got the feeling that they had been warmed up in the deep fryer. The baked potato was already translucent, but the quark was very simple. There was little response to our complaint, but the gossip behind the counter was easy to understand. You just noticed that the kitchen wanted to go home, even though we were there during regular opening hours. A positive thing to mention is that we were given the Wiener Schnitzel to go. As we were leaving the restaurant we heard the waitress talking loudly: “As long as the service was good, she doesn't give a damn about the kitchen”. There was also no farewell to the service staff. You could rather get the feeling that they were happy that we left. Our conclusion: great location, service OK, kitchen worth improving. There are much better German restaurants.

Unfortunately for me it was a complete disappointment. The side salad barely had any dressing. The schnitzel is large but flat and tastes rather average. Lovely some fries with sauce on the plate. The wine is more bitter than dry, nothing special. Dessert.... Oh well.

Rustic inn in the center of Mörfelden with large outdoor restaurants. In addition to many other delicacies, delicious, varied salads are served. According to the friendly waitress, their honey mustard dressing is based on a recipe from the chef's Dominican grandmother and is kept secret by him. Lunch (you can choose between three menus) is served quickly. The service staff at lunchtime are committed, quick and friendly.

5 stars are the minimum here! Cozy atmosphere, the food is super tasty and lots of it, no one leaves here hungry. Our waitress, Nicol, was really awesome, I think she could read minds ;o) Didn't have to wait long, the price was almost unbeatable, it's worth a further journey here. Come again!

Parking situation a bit difficult, better to park at the Sparkasse opposite. Reservation essential. Food and wine very good. My recommendation is the Frankfurter Schnitzel. Service fits

We had our winter party (catch-up Christmas party) with the company on Friday with 70 people. The food (buffet) was delicious, very sufficient, the service was quick and friendly - almost all colleagues were impressed, including by the rustic, cozy atmosphere. Everything also worked well organizationally. Actually everything was just as great as I've experienced before when I celebrated here privately - and everything at a really good price-performance ratio. That's why dear Golden Apple team - stay as you are - keep it up and a big THANK YOU from all Spectron employees (f/f) for the lovely evening -)

The food, service and ambience leave nothing to be desired. It's relatively quick, the waiters are all super friendly and the atmosphere is old German but very clean and cozy :) I love coming here.

I was there again recently. I ordered a schnitzel. The schnitzel was very thin and consisted almost entirely of breading. I have nothing against price increases, but please do so clearly and not in the form of a schnitzel that you can roll up. The green sauce came in a small bowl that barely held 2 tablespoons. The side salad was very fresh and the dressing tasted very good. The staff is super friendly and on the ball.

The food was really great. Everything looked great, my sea bream was really well prepared and you didn't have to wait long. As it was a bit busy, the waiters were a bit busy but were very friendly. Due to the many people and the cold outside, it was a bit warm/stuffy inside but that was quickly remedied.

We were there in a larger group for our Christmas party. The service and food were very good. However, the price/performance ratio was poor. 6 prawns cost €18.50 and the baked apple for dessert was very steep at €9. An apple! Of course everything is getting more expensive, but that's going too far. The portions were generally too small for the price and an adult would still be hungry afterwards. Personally, I wouldn't want to afford this luxury. All in all a little too expensive for the quality.

Where else are there restaurants as good as the Golden Apfel? Everything is just right here! The price-performance ratio, the friendly staff and, great now in summer, the cozy beer garden! Conclusion, highly recommended! Even now in the cold season, it is very warm and cozy inside. You simply feel good here!

Average to good restaurant. The quality of the food is a solid performance. Most of the waiters are not trained, but there are enough of them so there are not long waiting times.

Während einer Fortbildung hatte ich die Gelegenheit, das Restaurant Goldener Apfel zu besuchen. Das Ambiente war äußerst angenehm – ein charmantes Fachwerkhaus, das eine gemütliche und einladende Atmosphäre bot. Das Essen war hervorragend und dabei preislich absolut angemessen. Ich entschied mich für das einfachste Schnitzel, in der Hoffnung, danach noch Platz für einen Nachtisch zu haben. Doch der Teller war so großzügig und reichhaltig belegt, dass ich kapitulieren musste. Das Schnitzel war sehr lecker und von hoher Qualität. Den Abend rundeten wir mit einigen "Bierlängen" ab, bevor wir das Restaurant zufrieden verließen. Insgesamt ein tolles Erlebnis, das ich gerne weiterempfehle

We were at a major event and unfortunately we didn't like the food. Huge schnitzel with a lot of breadcrumbs. Steak was really bloody and lukewarm. Dessert cream Catalana looked like it had gone over and also tasted strange.

Sehr heimelige Atmosphäre, superfreundliches Personal, lecker - frisches Essen. Perfekter Comienza en Urlaub unseren. Gran ambiente (edificio de los 17 cientos) , camareros super atentos, buena comida. Volamos desde Estados Unidos ese día y tuvimos que luchar contra el jet lag: cena perfecta para comenzar nuestras vacaciones.

Been in Mörfelden again for well over 10 years... and of course still thought about the "Golden Apple", which was hit by a heavy hailstorm on the day of our first visit and was even seen on (regional?) television was. But - everything was fine again, we found "the apple" again and were warmly welcomed this Wednesday despite the restaurant being full (we came unannounced). Even though we had to sit at the "barrel", a place intended more for drinks guests, the food was not only plentiful, but also good and inexpensive. The spare ribs were grilled to perfection and the sausage salad with fried potatoes, a Hessian specialty called “Hans Wurst”, was also impressive. The service is super nice, you are greeted in a friendly manner, you feel like you are among friends. In addition, the young bartender apparently recognizes who is interested in Hessian ciders and gives the "stranger" a taste ;-) All in all, a lovely stay at the end of an otherwise rainy weekday. If we pick someone up at Frankfurt Airport again and spend the night in Mörfelden beforehand, the “Golden Apple” is of course a must. Maybe this time with a pre-order? ;-) Normally I'm always a bit sparing with the maximum number of stars to award, as there's usually still some room for improvement somewhere... but I can't really think of anything to complain about here. That's why I rarely give my 5 stars as much as I do here. See you next time!
