A lovely little hotel in a prime location. The room in the annex is newly renovated, with a great, modern bathroom, but it's very noisy. The main building is better in this regard. Breakfast is great (except for the cheap orange juice), everything is beautifully presented. The staff is consistently very attentive and friendly. Our highlight was the young blonde waitress in the evening (very attentive, charming, and incredibly competent), who could easily be poached by any hotel or restaurant owner, even those in Michelin-starred establishments. But the ladies at breakfast were also all very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is just right. The food in the evening is good, sometimes even ambitious, and reasonably priced. However, there's still plenty of room for improvement with the Wiener Schnitzel. If the owners were to install one or two wallboxes in the parking lot across the street (the hotel currently has none) and if the essential bathrobe didn't cost €7.50 to rent (!), it would be close to perfect.

A superb hotel in the center of Goslar. The rooms and courtyard exude a romantic charm. All the buildings are authentic and lovingly restored. I really liked the cleaning service, which has a great idea: if you skip cleaning, you can hang the small cloth bag provided in your room outside the door and receive drinks and fruit from the hotel as a thank you. Simply fantastic. We'd love to come back.

We stayed at the hotel for a mother-daughter weekend and loved it. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town, and everything is within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very large, with a bathtub, shower, and two sinks. We would definitely come back; it was a very nice stay.

A magical place to experience medieval Goslar in a historically authentic (yet contemporary) way. A very good restaurant, a cozy little bar, and a fantastic breakfast.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Alte Münze in Essen and were thrilled. The table was beautifully decorated, the service was very friendly, and the food was excellent. It was a truly wonderful evening. We highly recommend it and would gladly return.👍🏻

A truly excellent hotel. My wife and I love the old-world interior. The staff are very friendly, and you feel very comfortable there. We would stay there again anytime.

Everything here is very nice, and everyone is nice and friendly. Unfortunately, the room lacks that certain something. It needs a cozy, old-world feel, rather than the mismatched furniture inside.

We were here for dinner and had a little something to celebrate. So, for once, fine dining is a must. Even if the prices might be off-putting at first, I'm happy to pay a reasonable price as long as the quality is right. And here, it's absolutely right... Absolutely tender lamb loin, delicious veal schnitzel—that's how cooking should be done. We'll be back at the next opportunity.

Wir, drei Gäste im Alter von 89, 71 und 61 Jahre waren zum Abendessen im Restaurant des 4 Sterne Hotels -Alte Münze- und geben hier eine Bewertung über unsere Enttäuschung über Qualität der Speisen und Freundlichkeit des Personals ab. Wir hatten drei verschiedene Fleischgerichte und die Qualität des Fleisches war einfach nur schlecht. Das Fleisch war trocken und einfach nur fest und hart. Unser 89 jähriger Freund konnte das Fleisch (Landschwein) nicht kauen, so dass wir das Gericht untereinander tauschten. Ferner wurden die Gerichte zwar auf heißen Tellern serviert, aber insgesamt war das Essen nur "lauwarm". Die vorab bestellte Suppe war auch eher nur warm als heiß. Des Weiteren erwarten wir von einem 4 Sterne Haus Restaurant, dass einem 89 jährigen Gast beim Bringen der Getränke der erste Teil des Getränkes von der weiblichen Servicekraft eingeschenkt wird (weil das einem 89 jährigen Menschen nicht so leicht fällt)! Auch die Bezahlung mit Karte dauert bei älteren Menschen etwas länger, so dass der Kommentar des männlichen Kellners "Sehen sie, so schnell wird man sein Geld los!" von uns als unpassend empfunden wurde.

Unfortunately, the hotel's claim doesn't live up to reality. The location and cleanliness are excellent, but otherwise below average. The restaurant was closed on the second evening (Friday) due to a private party, and the bar was inexplicably closed on Saturday. I expect more from a four-star hotel! I wouldn't recommend it!

Consistently exceptionally friendly, personable, and attentive staff. Magical, tastefully comfortable, large, cozy rooms with very comfortable beds, bathrooms with vanity mirrors, and rain showers. An exceptionally extensive breakfast buffet (salmon, salads, mini meatballs, vegan options, freshly prepared egg dishes, etc.) of very good quality. This gem is wonderfully centrally located in the heart of Goslar. Housed in several half-timbered buildings, we had a beautiful room with a view of the church, a comfortable bed, and a state-of-the-art shower, and we felt extremely comfortable. Everything is within walking distance. The bar serves good cocktails, and the breakfast is excellent.

The hotel impresses with its special charm, combining historic elements with modern additions – the decor reflects this. The entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. Tip: If you want to go to the bar after a great dinner, you'll have to be quick – it's small but very nice ;-) The small, green courtyard is also enchanting – a cold drink tastes particularly good here in the summer.

The hotel is great. We made reservations in the restaurant. Reception was professional. The interior is great. Not to “ German” ( wood and rather old fashioned) but with grandeur. We were impressed. We ordered bruschetta and a nice Doornfelder red wine. After studying the menu we decided on veal and vegetarian. Both were great. Creative and well prepared. Although not on the menu we could have cheese as desert. Good choice. The wine and the food were great. We recommend this restaurant for the location and the excellent food!

We were invited to eat, the service was great. The food was okay.. so nothing that would make you think it was special.. Schnitzel without sauce, you have to order it separately. Given the price and the small size, not recommended. That's not possible. The fish was super tasty, but of course it also has its price. I think you have to take a look at the price performance and maybe include a salad with the dish. Conclusion, unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again... Price performance doesn't fit. It's a shame

We went to Goslar on the occasion of our company anniversary and stayed at the Hotel Alte Münze. Great ambience, very nice rooms, great service, very friendly staff and a breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. Always happy!

We stayed in the “Front Mascaron Room” for one night. This is located directly above the hotel bar, with a view of the hotel's small, cute courtyard. Even when it was busy in the evening, you couldn't hear any noise from there. It is a beautifully decorated room with sloping ceilings and walls, giving the whole room a charming feel. The breakfast was terrific! A huge selection of bread, rolls, muesli, yoghurt, pancakes, fruit, homemade (excellent) jams and even a vegan “corner” were available where there were also delicious homemade energy balls. The location is optimal. You fall out of the door, you're right in front of the Marktkirche, around the corner is the Schuhhof and you're right in Goslar's old town. The market square is a 2-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel has lovingly worked out the old, original elements of the house so that the rooms reflect a lot of comfort, style and the very individual character of the house. We would love to come back!

We were able to spend one night in the Palazzo room as part of the "Bettgeflüster" offer. The ambiance of the room is wonderful! Modern meets medieval. We particularly appreciated the inclusion of the old arched windows as a striking eye-catcher with a view of Münzstraße. In the evening, we dined in the hotel restaurant. Very attentive and friendly staff. The cuisine is characterized by regional products and high-quality food. We were very satisfied all around! The breakfast was very extensive and also offered a plentiful and creative selection for vegans. We have already decided to pay the hotel another visit.

The contact via email was very quick, nice and good. When we arrived at the hotel, the Luther bower we had booked was beautiful and could be heated well even when it was cold. We slept well and really enjoyed staying in the Alte Münze in Goslar. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff we met were very nice and friendly. You couldn't ask for better. If Goslar happens again, we'll be happy to come back.

Less romantic, more rustic hotel! The rooms and also the apartment are impractical, uncomfortable and spartan. Loud bar activity in the courtyard at night! Noisy cleaning activities during the day! Rooms are noisy. Staff “always trying hard”. Parking situation tricky, signage chaotic. The prices are overall excessive. There are good alternatives locally. The Steinbergalm - an absolute destination.

This is not our first time here and we will definitely visit again. A very nice hotel, with great service and a great location.

Thank you very much! We were in good hands at your hotel for our rather spontaneous wedding. It all started with the uncomplicated, professional telephone organization (room, catering, decoration) with Mr. Hecht. Their in-house bar was a quaint start with great drinks from good beer to great cocktails by their very pleasant and attentive bartender. The wedding evening in the Münzsaal was fantastic with excellent menu recommendations (meat/fish/vegan) and excellent support and hospitality from your very attentive staff (with Mr. Wagner). The breakfast the next morning also left nothing to be desired and was accompanied by attentive service right up to the last minute. Our rooms were nice. Overpriced motel like rooms. Maybe the other building have better rooms as we saw at the photos before we booked. Strongly recommend Goslar but in a different hotel.

Very nice rustic hotel. Have been there 4 times and have never been disappointed. Great junior suite, central location. Between the days you can enjoy the Christmas market (right outside the door) even more quietly.

Great vacation, great hotel, SUPER service We were there for the Christmas market. In addition to the hotel's excellent location, we were able to enjoy the hotel's super friendly and helpful service. We also really liked the Anno 1644 bar, even though our room was directly opposite, but we didn't notice anything about it in the room itself. The breakfast was excellent and we really liked the entire arrangement of the hotel.

On our next visit to Goslar we will stay in the Alte Münze again. We just liked everything and felt very comfortable.

A very nice hotel that you should definitely take as an overnight stay, we had a suite and it was incredible, unfortunately no photos were taken, but it was very great and old furnished, everything was harmonious, the service was great, they were very attentive to us and the service was not intrusive but attentive. We chose this hotel because it was 5 minutes to the city center and to the restaurants and sights, of course it costs a little more but it is justified. I could write so much more but there aren't enough lines. My conclusion: come here, marvel and enjoy. Absolutely recommended and we will be back

I visited the hotel twice. Once with my husband, once with friends. The rooms are coolly decorated with antique furniture and the bathrooms are well renovated with great showers and/or bathtubs. My highlight was the free-standing bathtub in the Junior Suite - fantastic, especially for tall and/or fat people who are otherwise never completely underwater 😂 In addition to the special ambience and the central location, what should also be highlighted is the very friendly staff and the fantastic breakfast buffet, which leaves nothing to be desired.

Essen nur Mittelmaß. Können die guten Bewertungen in keiner Weise nachvollziehen. Gault Mileau? Slow Food? Bei den Gerichten nicht erkennbar. Erster Gang kam vor dem Gruß aus der Küche. Hauptgerichte zu volle Teller, lieblos, pampig angerichtet, d.h. das Essen ist „übereinander geschichtet“, Fisch oder Fleisch liegt auf der Beilage; Panade/Bratkruste wird feucht vom Kartoffelpüree etc.. Verhältnismäßigkeit Beilagen zu Fisch oder Fleisch nicht gegeben, alles zu viel und zudem geschmacklich nicht gut abgestimmt. Bei jedem Gericht hat es geschmacklich „gefehlt“. Das Essen hat keine Freude gemacht und war dafür zu teuer..

The Romantik Hotel is located in the middle of the city center of Goslar, but is still very quiet. It consists of several old houses that are lovingly furnished. The hotel offers its own parking spaces directly on site, which you should definitely use due to the location. The breakfast buffet is very good.

Nice hotel right opposite the church. We lived in the back house, which dates from 1680. It is crooked and it is beautiful. They offer parking in the yard for 15 euros. It's free on the street at the weekend. We were not very excited about the restaurant. It disappointed. Goslar is a nice very well-kept cozy town. Take a walk along the stream that runs through the town. So nice.

Unsere kleine Familie hatte etwas zu feiern, und in der Alten Münze in Goslar waren wir bisher noch nicht. Super freundliche Bedienung, die einen Scherz schlagfertig wechseln konnte, eine etwas eigenwillige Deko im historischen Ambiente und vor allem ein tolles Abendessen! Von der appetitlichen Vorspeise (Spargelsuppe und Focaccia) über die auf den Punkt gegarten Hauptgerichte (Lammfilet und Schmorbraten mit Spargel) bis zur Schoko-Tarte mit Zweierlei von der Erdbeere - einfach gelungen! Auch die formulierten Ambitionen vom Slow Food bis zu den regionalen Beilagen passten und waren genauso gemeint… Schade, dass so viel ehemals gute Gastronomie in Goslar stirbt. Und gut, dass es die Alte Münze gibt!

Good morning. On the whole the hotel was quite ok. The positive aspects to be highlighted are the reception, the ambience, the breakfast, the possibility of bringing a dog (even for breakfast!) and the evening bar. The drawbacks in our case were the room with a lot of defects. These include scratches on walls and corners (perhaps due to the fact that we got a "dog room" which may be a little less maintained, I don't know), loosely hanging cosmetic mirrors and a television that is probably 15 years old. Of course we were rarely in the room, but I don't want to count pixels to wind down before sleeping. Maybe I'm too modern for that. If you spend more money you will definitely get a better room. Finding the rooms was also really confusing. A draftsman created a self-created plan of the houses and the crooked hallways in one day. Alternatively, arrows with room numbers on exterior walls and in hallways would be an option. The situation is also good and bad at the same time. Good because you are really in the middle of the city and still have peace and quiet thanks to the location at the back. It's bad, however, because there are no parking spaces nearby and you either have to walk a bit with your luggage or you can book a hotel parking space for 15 euros per night, which I find quite expensive for outdoor parking spaces without a roof.

The breakfast in the Alte Münze is really recommended 👌🏻 We were there today as out-of-home guests. Self-service coffee specialties, sparkling wine, fresh smoothies, vegan products (from sausage and cheese, to spreads, salads and even cakes and small desserts), scrambled eggs, bacon, fried mushrooms, fresh fruit such as pineapple, melon and fruit salad, a large selection of teas and much more - a diverse offering that I have never seen anywhere else. I was very impressed that there was even semolina porridge and chia pudding 🥰 everything was really delicious there. You can currently get the all-round package for €24.90 and I can say it's good value for money, even if it's more expensive. 👌🏻

Hotel Alte Muenze is a great hotel in Goslar, Germany. The rooms span across multiple buildings and all have character and charm. It is just a few steps into the city center. If you can splurge for the suites.

Room absolutely very nice. Service also great. Breakfast was also very good, but not exactly cheap. Unfortunately the view from our room not quite that great. Location is 1A, you are right in the middle of Goslar, great! Parking directly at the hotel for an additional charge.

We booked Easter brunch in the restaurant on the occasion of my parents' Iron Wedding. Starting with a super friendly service staff who, among other things, were able to give good tips on wine selection, we were looked after excellently. The rich hot and cold buffet, which ended with filled cream puffs, delighted both the vegan/vegetarian part of the family and the “omnivores”. We were also lucky enough to be able to use a separate room for our table. We were completely satisfied and would like to sincerely thank the service and cooking team at the Alte Münze.

We were registered at the Mint's restaurant on the occasion of my son's birthday. We were served excellently and there was nothing to complain about in terms of taste. The service was great from the reservation acceptance to the reception as well as the actual execution, everything was without any complaints on our part. Friendly staff. You should check the hotel room before booking. Also received a nice voucher. Parking with the motorcycle was free in a closed area. Breakfast was perfect.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings - centrally located so you don't need the car at all - the staff is super accommodating and very friendly. The only negative point: the junior suite does not correspond to the pictures. It actually looks completely different and unfortunately not a double bed but single beds that quickly slip apart. More like a family room.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das ganze Hotel ist einfach so toll angelegt , organisiert und eingerichtet. Das Frühstück und unser Silvesterevent waren super toll und das Personal auf ganzer Linie super nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr aufgehoben und heimisch gefühlt. Es hat sich alles so toll angefühlt. Besonders war auch der Service der Rezeption, welcher auf Wünsche/ Fragen super geholfen und reagiert hat. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön für diese schöne Zeit an alle von uns . Der Aufenthalt war so besonders . Besser hätte das alte Jahr nicht enden bzw. das neue Jahr beginnen können.

Schönes Hotel mit süßen Zimmern. Sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück war gut und für jeden Geschmack war was dabei. Auch vegane Aufstriche gab es.

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage, ist "mittendrin" (Weihnachtsmarkt) und trotzdem sehr ruhig. Großes Zimmer, prima Service, gemütliches Restaurant mit Kamin, Bar... wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Wir haben ein Wochenende im Hotel verbracht. Positiv war, dass das Personal sehr freundlich war! Das reichhaltige Frühstückbuffet hat uns auch sehr gefallen. Zudem ist die Lage des Hotels hervorragend. Nicht gefallen hat uns der Freitagabend. Wir waren im „Nebenhaus“ untergebracht, dort war bereits gegen 20 Uhr eine Party in der Bar. Wir wurden von betrunkenen Partygästen „begrüßt“, an denen wir vorbei mussten, um zum Zimmer zu kommen und die auf unangenehme Art versuchten, Gespräche zu führen. Die ganze Nacht waren laute Bässe im Zimmer zu hören. Samstagnacht war es hingegen ruhig. Leider wurde unser Zimmer nicht gereinigt, obwohl wir um 10:30 Uhr nach dem Frühstück das rote Schild abgenommen haben. Ich hätte mir auch eine etwas andere Ausstattung in einem 4 Sterne Hotel dieser Preisklasse gewünscht. Am Bett gab es keine Steckdosen oder Ablageflächen, nur am Rand an der Wand einen alten Ikea Nachttisch.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel in super Lage. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lies keine Wünsche offen. Auch das Personal war sehr nett. Wir hatten die Junior Suite, sehr ruhig und schön. Wenn noch ein kleiner Kühlschrank im Zimmer gewesen wäre, dann wäre es perfekt. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Anett und Michael aus Berlin

Eines der schönsten Hotels in dem wir bis jetzt waren. Ein märchenhaftes Ambiente, mit gehobener Ausstattung. Abgerundet wurde es durch den Schnee, was dem ganzen Ambiente einen ordentlichen Hauch von einem Wintermärchen verpasst hat. Mit dem wundervollen Weihnachtsmarkt direkt vor der Tür punktet das Hotel doppelt. Allerdings gibt es auch einen großen Kritik Punkt. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind eine Katastrophe. Wir mussten zweimal umparken, weil nicht darauf geachtet wurde, wie die anderen Autos auf den Parkplätzen stehen. Auf unsere zugewiesenen Parkplätzen passt höchstens noch ein smart. Da wir aber ein Van haben, war das sehr problematisch. Der dritte Parkplatz war dann 7 Gehminuten vom Hotel weg. Am Ende mussten wir unseren Parkplatz dann auch nicht bezahlen, geärgert hat es uns aber trotzdem. Es hat uns beim Check in viel Zeit gekostet und beim auschecken ebenfalls, weil erstmal das Auto geholt werden musste um einzuladen. Der Preis des Hotels war ebenfalls sehr hoch, aufgrund des Weihnachtsmarkts, wurde uns so gesagt. Ich wäre nicht nochmal bereit diesen hohen Preis zu zahlen, denn so schön das Hotel auch ist, es fehlten dafür gewisse Aufmerksamkeiten im Zimmer. Es war ein Wasserglas zu wenig, nur zwei Zahnputzbecher für fünf Personen, Spinnenweben im Badezimmer und der angepriesene Empfangssekt aufen Zimmer wurde komplett weggelassen. Dafür gab es aber Gutscheine für ein Glühwein. Das hat es dann wieder gut gemacht. Das Frühstück war wirklich sehr gut. Für jeden was dabei, aber auf den Preis bezogen, nichts außergewöhnliches oder besonders hochwertiges Essen.

Sehr schön gelegen, im Altstadtzentrum. Die Kommunikation war super, sehr schnelle Antworten. Auf Wünsche wurde eingegangen. Das gesamte Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind alle individuell eingerichtet. In diesem historischen Haus stimmt das Ambiente. Mit viel Liebe wurden tolle Akzente gesetzt. Gern werden wir wieder kommen.

Ein kleines aber feines Hotel, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.
