I had the "Royal Burger". Super tasty! Juicy and well-roasted meat. Also a really big portion. The fries were great. I haven't eaten fries like this in a really long time! Only the (ready-made?) mayo was a bit tasteless. But I didn't actually need any sauce for the delicious fries :). The preparation was quick and the staff was super nice. Definitely worth repeating ♡.

Incredibly good vegetarian burger. Had the one with the mushroom patty. Great seating options. Priced well too.

They were better much earlier. I've known her for 10 years. Now it's just cold food, lots of mayo and ketchup! People aren't nice and polite either! I no longer recommend it

Ambience of a snack bar, tables were very dirty. The food went like this, the burger patties were very well cooked even though they were ordered medium, not really warm and there wasn't enough sauce.

The children's hamburgers were really worth crying. I can't even manage them that badly at home. The supposedly homemade mayo is like a thick salad sauce "disgusting". For €1, free would be asking too much. Ketchup for €1, it's just ketchup, so the price isn't entirely justified. However, I can understand that they are so expensive, there were 4 people behind the counter. There was a folding sign in front of the door that said €11 for a hamburger and a drink, i.e. a menu. We were then told in the store that it was not valid on public holidays. Then you can't display it either. They lure customers in and then say they have to order something else.

Very nice atmosphere, great service and incredibly delicious food. Price performance is also absolutely great. A visit is highly recommended

There was nothing going on around half past four in the afternoon, Easter holidays? Lots of space, friendly service, delicious food. Unusual burger creations other than the standard ham and cheese burgers. Interesting lamp installations. If you come by car you have to be creative or resourceful when parking, right in the middle of Nippes...

Fatima was excellent and Mother Fatmas Yuki sauce was pretty original! The hamburger was super tasty !!! Viva Kurdistan Viva Maroc!!! Plus I got a free beer

(DELIVERY AND ORDER, I WAS NOT ON SITE) Ordered at 5:59 p.m., delivered at 7:44 p.m. - lukewarm, consistency soggy and crumbled apart. And €18.27, of which €5.99 were delivery costs. Won't order again. Even one star is too much for the delivery time. What it's like on site - I have no idea. But I would refrain from ordering. The burger was okay, apart from the things mentioned earlier. Good in terms of taste and composition, but unfortunately overshadowed by the almost 2 hour waiting time without any information. The first information was "in about 20 minutes" and then it settled down. I actually wanted to do something with friends afterwards, then wrote at 6:16 p.m. that it would be delivered in about 19 minutes - because that's what it said to me. At :29 I was shown 20 minutes. At some point it goes up to 30 minutes, temporarily to 50, then down again and then up again. And all of this without any information from Hornochse himself. No call, no nothing. Even though my cell phone number was included with the order. I won't come by and order what a stupid thing again Oh, and if the team is reading this: only an informed customer can show understanding

I don't even know where to begin. This was honestly the worst experience I've ever had with burgers. The sauces on the burgers were runny and tasteless. The meat was unseasoned. The menu said Ricola, but the burger had Salad Rosso or something like that on it. The chicken in the chicken burger tasted watery. I'd rather not even think about the fries anymore. They were lukewarm with an equally tasteless truffle sauce. Apart from that, after 5 minutes a large puddle of oil had formed in the bowl, which made the fries soggy. The only good thing was the doneness, which was as requested. However, I would never go to this place again. For €36 for 2 small burgers, 1 pair of fries, and 2 drinks, I expect much more than what we got. I wish I'd taken pictures of the food to add as proof.

We have been eating on site or picking up food for a few years now. We are more than satisfied every time. The staff is extremely friendly. Each burger is available with meat or vegetarian, which makes it almost unique. I can recommend pretty much everything here 😃

We were there at lunchtime today and left full, satisfied and happy. We were greeted very warmly on site. The burgers were delicious. For me it's the best burger in town. The fries, whether sweet potato or normal fries, both on the 1st level.

My family and I had various burgers and gratinated and normal fries. Everything was freshly prepared and very tasty. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. However, it was a bit loud because it was very full... which ultimately speaks for the place.

Unfortunately it declined significantly after the change of ownership. The shop used to be one of the better addresses for good burgers, but unfortunately we won't be coming back. The burgers were relatively cold, despite being freshly prepared. In the vegan burger, the mushroom patty was tiny. The fries were quite ok. Prices have remained fairly stable on a positive note. However, the store overall does not appear to be well maintained. The toilets were only moderately clean.

For 8 years since I discovered this burger gem, I have been a loyal customer and have recommended the shop as the best I know and my favorite shop to anyone who asked. Unfortunately, I can no longer say this since the change of ownership because too much has changed for the worse. The quality of the meat seems to be different, not to mention the seasoning because there doesn't seem to be much there. There are also other rolls that don't fulfill what they're supposed to in terms of quality or taste. I think raising the prices and at the same time lowering the quality in order to increase the margin will have a negative impact on the store in the long term and will not contribute to the long existence of the restaurant. The renovation inside and the ambience are unfortunately more of a catalog style and lack character compared to before. Sadly, it seems I'll have to find a new burger joint.

Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly. Burgers used to be really tasty. The last time I was there, the meat was hardly salted, iceberg lettuce and watery tomatoes actually spoiled the taste. Everything was lukewarm including fries. I'm going to step away from this store for a while now. We spent €50 there for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks and unfortunately the food was not edible. Service is very friendly.

Unfortunately there is no table service, which makes it difficult to eat in larger groups, but this is not a problem in smaller groups. It didn't bother us. The burgers were super tasty, the fries were crispy, the sauces were delicious 👍🏻 If we were in Cologne more often we would come regularly. All burgers can also be ordered vegetarian. There is even a small selection of vegan burgers. Had both a meatless and also one with meat. Both were on point. The ambience is functional and the shop is inconspicuous. You don't notice the store from the outside if you don't know it. But I can recommend the Hornochsen without hesitation.

With all my love, today we had a bad experience. In my opinion, a waiting time of 55 minutes with a small number of people is not justifiable. There is no way to order your food as a menu, which drives up the price enormously. If it had been tasty I wouldn't say anything. Only the sweet potato fries were well baked and completely over salted, the smash burger I ordered wasn't "smashed" but just fried normally. The size of the portion was more or less for the hollow tooth. And all of this for a bargain price of 52 euros for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks and 3 small parmesan “sticks” that tasted like raw dough. Unfortunately not such a good tip

I can't imagine that the burgers in person are any better than ordering them via Uber Eats - either way, my delivery was really poor. The fact that it can take a while is a gift. But the burgers? The fact that they don't arrive warm is also a gift. We had the Köllefornia twice. It basically tasted like nothing. The avocado mash was not seasoned, nor was the patty, and on top of that it was completely cooked through. You had to look for the burger sauce, as well as the cheese. There were red onions on it, which according to the description are not there at all. Quite apart from the lack of taste, the price-performance ratio is simply not right at all. I gave five stars for the atmosphere because I can't judge it. But I won't eat a burger there again. There are now countless burger shops in Cologne, and luckily the selection is large enough.

I am very enthusiastic about the food! The veggie burgers were super tasty and the smash burger also tasted great. From the side dishes we had the onion rings, the truffle parmesan fries and the parmesan croquettes and it was very tasty. The service was also great. Location, ambience and furnishings were also nice.

I was here for the first time today, traveling from Düsseldorf specifically to enjoy such a culinary delight. Great reception, cozy atmosphere, very, very tasty food, the burger was great, the fries were perfect, I can only warmly recommend it. The trip here was definitely worth it and I'm looking forward to going here again.

Apparently there was a change of ownership here. The burgers and fries have become significantly worse. But I found the atmosphere really frightening. No one was greeted by the employees when they came in and the Lieferando drivers were ignored. Very unsympathetic and no comparison to before. Edit: I had a vegetarian burger. It has nothing to do with the meat. This is my second negative review ever, I usually rate positive ones. What should you discuss objectively on site if your answer is absolutely unobjective?!

The food was completely ok, but still very expensive! Unfortunately the service is disorganized and chaotic despite 4 people standing behind the counter. We pre-ordered yesterday and still had to wait 25 minutes in the store. This can happen, but communication should still be friendly. In addition, a burger was prepared incorrectly. We got a new burger, but unfortunately the ingredients that were ordered and paid for separately were missing. We waited another 15 minutes for the missing burger. In total we waited on site for 40 minutes. Of course the rest of the food was cold! There wasn't really an apology...

We were there with a group and the restaurant is simply not suitable for a cozy meal together. There is no service, you have to order individually at the counter and then, despite the long wait, the food came at a different time for everyone. Our fries came a good quarter of an hour before the burger. That's no fun then. The burgers themselves are good but not great.

Ordered smashed burger and fries. Unfortunately, the burger was a far cry from the classic smashed burgers like Boring or Goldie’s. Simply a limp slice of smashed patty placed in an ordinary burger. A lot completely apart. Fries were good.

Quite a few price increases of around 50% in the last 5 years and getting worse with every change of ownership (now the 3rd owner). It's a shame, it used to be an institution in Veedel.
