Hornfischbar in Greifswald

Extremely cool location. The boat itself is old but superbly restored. It is very romantic, especially at night, with the fairy lights all around, reflecting off of the water. The backdrop of the small port is also very beautiful, peaceful and picturesque. For a date there is no better location around. The food is really delicious and fresh, well prepared and presented. The menu is very varied, one can have a proper sit-down dinner or something a bit more casual and smaller, like a Fischbrötchen but a lot more high scale than at an Imbiss. The bread is crispy and the fish is very juicy. The french fries are also very tasty. I can also recommend their cocktails. The prices are very reasonable for the quality as well as the service and experience.

We were in Greifswald for three days and were there for three evenings! That actually says it all. Great atmosphere, great service, great food! We'd love to come back.

Sitting next to the fireplace in the ship is very cozy. All the flowers on the tables are fresh, which is not a given these days. The food there is excellent and the sauce goes perfectly with it. The service is natural and warm. We had a wonderful lunch time there. The restaurant is highly recommended.

We had lunch here today. There was a schnitzel with fried potatoes and a pumpkin soup. Everything was delicious!! The schnitzel with a great crust and properly fried was a delight. The soup also tasted wonderful. The service was friendly and quick. That's why 👍🏻

We were in the museum and wanted to fortify ourselves with a fish sandwich. The matjes roll was the best we have ever eaten and relatively cheap. Delicious. Very nice service. Come again.

Dinner in the Hornfischbar was an absolute highlight of my visit to Greifswald - very cozy by the fireplace, super attentive staff and the best fish dish of my life (and I don't constantly throw around superlatives). Be sure to try the Greifswalder Pannfisch. You do everything right. Thank you for this wonderful culinary highlight!

We were there on September 27th 2024 with 11 people registered for 8 p.m. At 8:15 p.m. we were let in and placed at the cable drum in the rear. Since there wasn't enough seating, two broken chairs were added. The waitress came to see us for the first time at 8:45 p.m. Drinks would take another 20 minutes and food would take 40 minutes. Dear people, please don't accept orders if you can't make it. Our evening was over, we were disappointed with this 'service' and left!

Despite reservations and late entry, we were assigned a table for 11 people that was suitable for 8 people. Several broken chairs included. Then our table was ignored for 40 minutes. We were able to observe how guests who arrived after us were served and already received drinks. When we were finally allowed to place our order, we were informed that we would have to wait 20 minutes for the drinks and at least 45 minutes for the food. Then we would have received our food at 9.40pm... with an order for 8pm. The staff was completely overwhelmed. Since we were all hungry and thirsty, we weren't willing to wait any longer. Luckily, the restaurant La Piazza on the market still had the kitchen open and was happy to welcome 11 additional guests. We were served quickly and friendly here and probably had our food quicker than we would have gotten our drinks at the Hornfischbar. I don't think this restaurant is suitable for groups. We cannot rate the quality of the food. We left the ship after almost an hour hungry and thirsty.

The food was good and not too expensive. We had fish burgers and salmon on potato pancakes. The fish burger had bones, but at least it was made with fresh fish. The service was very nice and tried very hard. However, the organization was pretty disastrous that Monday evening. Guests have already pointed out to us that it could take a little longer (small kitchen), but 1 1/2 hours is still too much. Then the beer ran out (OK, there was another free drink instead) and our order could no longer be found when billing. Other guests seem to have had similar experiences. That significantly dampened the enjoyment of the evening and therefore unfortunately only 3 stars. It remains to be hoped that it was an unfortunate exception.

Friendly staff, good food, always happy

As many others have already written, very good food, friendly service (even provided mosquito repellent for those sitting outside) and a super idyllic atmosphere. 4 stars for the service due to no card payment. The prices are cheap in relation to what is on offer, but it still adds up.

The Hornfischbar on the Pomeria in Greifswald offers a very special maritime experience. The restaurant is located on the historic steamship Pomeria, which is moored in the museum harbor. Culinary enjoyment and a touch of seafaring romance come together here. The menu is varied and, in addition to fresh fish, such as the excellent herring trilogy, also offers hearty meat dishes and delicious desserts. The ambience is particularly attractive in both summer and winter. While you can enjoy the fresh breeze on deck in the warm months, the ship's fireplace invites you to enjoy a cozy meal in the cold season. The friendly service and the excellent quality of the freshly prepared dishes are particularly commendable. Definitely worth a visit!

Highly recommended. Friendly, very tasty, loving and cozy. Even the Michelin Man (Bibendum) would be thrilled. But it probably wouldn't fit through the narrow door.🌹

Wir waren regelmäßig bei der Pomerania, um die leckeren Menüangebote zu genießen. Heute, 05.09.2024, jedoch wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Beim Menü Greifswalder Pannenfisch hatten wir weder bei den Bratkartoffeln noch vom Gurken-Dill-Häckerle mehr als einen Esslöffel auf dem Teller. Die Dijon-Senf-Soße musste man auf dem Teller sprichwörtlich suchen. Auf Nachfrage für etwas mehr Soße mit Häckerle entschuldigte sich der Kellner mit der Aussage, dass der Koch nichts mehr herausgibt. Dadurch war das Gericht sehr sehr trocken. Als Widergutmachung bot uns der Kellner einen Dessert oder einen Kaffee an. Wir lehnten ab, da wir sehr enttäuscht waren. Es war wohl ein neuer Koch am Bord. Mit diesem Koch halten wir erst einmal Abstand von einem weiteren Besuch. Schade!!!

I don't want to be like that. The goat cheese was great. The ambience is also great. Please check your chairs. One or two of them urgently need to be replaced. Very friendly staff. If you were to hurry up with the drinks, you could easily increase sales. That would be easier than serving the Aperol for €7.00 in a 0.2L wine glass. So there is definitely still room for improvement here. Spaghetti Aglio Olio was a huge portion, but the content wasn't successful. I'll be back and next time there will be fewer stars 😂

Very friendly welcome and excellent food. Fish soup and freshly caught flounder were perfectly prepared. As “Dessert” homemade fries, wonderful. Very comfortable and highly recommended, thank you! If only it were always like this...

After we had waited an hour for our food and it started to rain, we were told by an employee that we had to find out about the weather in advance. When another employee complained about our son, who asked 'when will the food come, hopefully soon' We said, "Have fun searching."

Wir haben Zanderfilet mit Bandnudeln und Kräutersaitlingen gegessen. Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war frisch. Man musste zwar eine Stunde auf das Essen warten, aber es hat sich gelohnt. Der Preis von ca. 25€ geht für diese Qualität noch.

We had a wonderful summer evening in the Hornfischbar with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and really great food. The fish fingers made from fresh fish, the labskaus, cod with homemade potato salad and the prawns were really great! Thank you for this lovely evening! :)

Tolle Atmosphäre und leckeres Essen. Für mich könnte die Portion sogar etwas kleiner sein. Es war auf jeden Fall frisch gekocht und sehr schmackhaft.

The salad was underground! Some lettuce leaves were completely wilted and the dressing was mush. There was no apology from the kitchen, even though I left the "muddy leaves" on the edge of the plate. At 9 p.m. the waitress told us that the staff was now taking a half-hour break and that we could order something now or would have to wait half an hour. We paid. Although the place is actually very nice - I won't go there again.

Cash only card not accepted Nice atmosphere because it's next to the sea But they only accept cash. It's a shame I had cash, I would have been in big trouble. I recommend the shrimp burger because it contains 4 small shrimp. The Greifswald burger was delicious.

During a trip to Greifswald at the museum harbor in beautiful weather, we enjoyed herring rolls and salmon with potato pancakes at the Hornfischbar on the Pomeria! Very good wine and very good price-performance ratio! The team very friendly! Highly Recommended!

We had lunch today at the (Pomeria) Hornfischbar and were thrilled. I had the fried pike perch with tomato bread salad, black olives and caper apples (I've never had these before and I think they're great). My husband had the pike perch with lemon sauce and potatoes and a salad garnish. The pike perch was simply fantastic, tenderly fried and not dry at all. The Hornfischbar crew was very friendly and attentive. We felt valued as guests. They even thought of our dog. We will eat there again when we are in Greifswald again.

We were here 3 years ago and it was Super then and has not changed. Friendly attentive Servers, Very good food all freshly made. Thankyou We had Pike-perch, with a mushrooms Sauce on a bed of Tagliatelle. & Cod on Asparagus ragu and served with mashed potatoes... It was Sooo good

I was surprised that I found a restaurant open in this place after 9 p.m. The prices on the menu are moderate and the dishes are prepared fresh from the kitchen. The staff was always there. My recommendation: Since it is a restaurant on a ship, the on-board staff could also wear typical ship costume. For feeling good.

Clear recommendation. The food is very good, the staff is courteous and friendly. Don't forget, you're sitting on a ship and it rocks every now and then. We've been there several times and would love to come back.

We first went to the bar for dinner and two days later for a fish sandwich to go. Both were excellent. It was no problem taking the dog in and placing it under the table. The food was delicious and the service was good!

I had a culinary vision for my visit to Greifswald: freshly fried herring with fried potatoes. This dish was served on the old ship with the hornfish bar. I arrived half an hour before 6 p.m., everything was reserved for that time. But the staff made it possible for me to eat beforehand: fried herring and fried potatoes! It was fantastic. Thank you very much! And a rainbow flag flutters at the stern - more hospitality couldn't be better!!!

Good Morning! We were recently in this magical restaurant and absolutely loved it! The Nordic atmosphere with the cozy fireplace, the loving decorative elements and the fresh flowers on the tables immediately captivated us. Plus the wonderful view of the water – simply fantastic! The service was extremely friendly and accommodating, we felt completely at home. And the food? A poem! The regional fish in particular was of excellent quality. The pike-perch steak, the pan-fried fish and the spaghetti aglio orsino and aglio e olio with fried shrimp tantalized our taste buds. Big compliments to the kitchen. Here you can taste the attention to detail and the connection to the region. Even though there was only one dessert on the menu, we were pleasantly surprised. The mascarpone cream with rhubarb compote was a real treat - so delicious! The portions were more than sufficient and the price-performance ratio was just right. An absolute recommendation for everyone who loves northern German cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. The five star rating is definitely justified. We will be back definitely! Kind regards, Leon

Behind the tarpaulin there is a real restaurant. There are fresh, house-style dishes prepared on modern tableware. We received extremely friendly service and the atmosphere right on the water was great. A great fireplace provided cozy warmth. We'd love to come back.

Rustic maritime atmosphere with very good food

The fish dishes are wonderful and the side dishes and vegetables are also extremely delicious! There is a certain range here, from the fish sandwich to the complete main course, and therefore also a certain price range. I think the price-performance ratio is very good. I'd love to come back!

Traditionelle Gerichte neu interpretiert. Einfach lecker. Tolles Ambiente. Für uns die Adresse für leckeres Essen in Greifswald. Wir werden noch mal dort hin Essen gehen, wenn wir nächstes Jahr wieder an die Ostsee fahren. Abends und im Sommer muss es dort genial sein.
