Fantastic atmosphere and incredibly good food. We were a bit overdressed, so jeans and sneakers seemed perfectly acceptable. And unfortunately, we sat right next to the bar, which was a bit hectic. But we had a fantastic dinner!

We went here over the Christmas Holiday and it was wonderful. The food was upscale and delicious. I highly recommend making a reservation here if you are planning a visit to the art gallery.

Excellent venue before or after the museum. An English menu available via a QR code. The salmon tartare was perfect. The vanilla Creme brûlée was lovely although the extra pistachio nuts were overkill on a perfectly lovely desert.

We ordered cappuccino, it was one of the worst cappuccino I’ve ever had cuz was really dark roasted coffee and there was no art on it! The waitress was in a rush and a little of my cappuccino was spilled and my sugar pack was wet! But the vibe and place was really nice! Prices were higher than similar cafes!

Purtroppo i tempi di attesa sono lunghissimi, abbiamo atteso oltre un ora prima di ricevere il cibo. Siamo entrati alle 20.,45 e abbiamo mangiato alle 22.05. Lo abbiamo fatto notare ai dipendenti che si sono anche indispettiti. In un ristorante dove un piatto di pasta costa 36 euro (!!!)direi che è inaccettabile. Inoltre la scelta di piatti sul menu’ e’ molto limitata , forse 30 piatti in tutto tra antipasti primi secondi e dolci. La qualità del cibo è medio alta. La location molto ma molto bella . Peccato per quanto sopra

People say you have to have been to Holbein’s. So we did that. For breakfast. As a prelude to the exhibition visit. The restaurant is possibly the largest and highest winter garden in Frankfurt. For the food - great quality, super tasty, but a very clear selection of breakfast. Very attentive service, but you only feel really comfortable here if you are a fan of 20 meter high ceilings… Nevertheless - a wonderful Sunday morning...!

Ambiance and service is high quality, but sadly the food is not as good as it used to be and is now even more expensive. A small side of bread to accompany your meal will set you back €4.50 while a very small side of mustard for your pommes is €2. The fish of the day was overcooked and served in a very sweet yet bland sauce. Sadly we will not be returning, even when we are at the museum. It’s a shame because this used to be a fabulous find.

We were satisfied with the food and the service. However, our main courses were charged 4 euros more than shown on the menu. We only noticed this on the way home. Very annoying! I'm not suggesting any intent. But something like this shouldn't happen to a restaurant of this level.

A chic restaurant where everything is right. I actually always find something to complain about. There was nothing to complain about here apart from one small thing. We were greeted in a professional, friendly manner and escorted to the table. We were able to choose our wine and food in peace without anyone coming every minute to ask us if we were ready. Today that is no longer a given. After the drinks were ordered, we were asked about our food preferences. The request to allow time between courses was completely complied with; we were able to enjoy the individual courses in a relaxed and peaceful manner. The starter was yellowfin mackerel sashimi, followed by truffle noodles with nut butter, pink fried saddle of venison and, finally, nougat dumplings. Everything in peace and with plenty of time, it was absolutely fun and we really enjoyed lunch. The ambience is great, the service is very professional without being hectic or haphazard (and yes, we have experienced that many times). We would love to come back, it was a pleasant and delicious lunch.

We had a very nice Christmas evening. Positively as a great location at the Städel, the service fulfilled all our wishes, the menu was extremely tasty with mackerel sashimi, tender goose, melty nougat dumplings and a very fine wine accompaniment, cocktails were conjured up well, unfortunately the truffle lacked a bit of flavor and an upscale restaurant No dogs should be allowed, that was annoying. Otherwise we felt very comfortable.

My favorite place in Frankfurt Germany!!! I have been visiting the museum since 2022 and have always stopped in for a light meal or just coffee and cake. It made the museum experience a better one. I don't know the waiter's name, but he has been helping me with my selection since my first visit... I will have to ask him for his name and update this review next time.

Was there on a Saturday after a long visit to the Städel Museum. The service was wonderful. I ordered the Catch of the Day, a sea bream fillet with beetroot salsa and for dessert crème brullée with pistachio ice cream, a dream! The best fish I've ever had, incredibly juicy and full of flavor. The delicious dessert rounded everything off. A big thank you to the chefs and all employees!

Very nice atmosphere. The location in Frankfurt is hard to beat. The cuisine is simply outstanding, very tasty, well prepared and also sufficient. The service was also great. Not intrusive but always close to whoever needed him. From the greeting from the restaurant manager to our waiter at the table. Good wine list with something for everyone. Advice if you need help. (very good specialist knowledge of the individual wines) at least our waiter. We felt comfortable and would love to come back.

The lady was very unfriendly and I was treated really condescendingly. The lady felt that way next to me too. Just because we were there alone for lunch without our partners. I've been there several times and I've never been treated like this by the gentlemen. Too bad

A unique place with refined cuisine and a high standard of service. Beauty and luxury surround you everywhere, and the service is at an incredibly high level and everyone is smiling, cultured and very kind. The food is of high quality, and the utensils are luxurious and arranged according to etiquette. I recommend that you must visit this place and immerse yourself in the luxury and luxury of quality food and drinks.

Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis Eines der schönsten Plätze zum Essen gehen. Tolle Küche und ein zuvorkommendes Personal. Wunderschön und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet.

Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend. Die Bestuhlung sehr eng. (Gespräche der Nachbarn können stören). Der Service ist flott und freundlich. Die Speisekarte zeigt sich übersichtlich. Im 3- Gang Menü gab es 2 Gänge mit Pfirsich, für 70,00€ Pfirsich zum Fischgang und gebratenen Pfirsich als Dessert. Das fand ich so phantasievoll, dass ich mich für Calamares entschieden habe -> 28,00€. Es wurde vergessen, eine Lupe mitzuliefern. Zum Glück hatten wir Brot bestellt! Mit Hunger sollte man nicht kommen. Mit Wasser, Weinbegleitung 2x, Espresso und Aperitif waren wir bei 210,00€ angelangt. Das hat mir gereicht.

Holbein’s has been an institution in Frankfurt for 25 years now. Both the outdoor and indoor areas are beautifully landscaped and decorated. The service is very well coordinated and the menu fits the whole thing perfectly - EVERYTHING is delicious! ;)

Unfortunately, our special dietary requirements that were indicated when booking were not taken into account. My girlfriend had to come up with suggestions herself. Service excellent, wine accompaniment good, price €228, was expected

Rather unfriendly, arrogant service

The food is extremely good and the servers are very friendly. The resturant is a bit expensive, but typical for fine dining. The resturant offers a good view of the river, and the toilets wre spotless. Unfortunately, they close at 18:00 which means they do not have dinner.

I've been a fan of Holbein's for a long time. Unfortunately, it didn't convince me on my last two visits. Finally, spontaneously with the family for a coffee in the afternoon on the terrace. But neither the service nor the cake was convincing. Even the cappuccino wasn't as usual. Very unfortunate. Hope things get better again. At the moment I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, maybe just because of the location.

Understated and tasteful, this restaurant offered us a memorable experience. Had the sushi plate, a kohlrabi ceviche with apples, then a miso salmon plate, with a glass of rosé. Flawless service.

We were a bit shocked that we were asked to leave more tips even though we had already given €45 more. I personally and everyone else at the table didn't think the gentleman with the glasses said that the service was included.

Elegant place to treat yourself to something delicious and satisfying after a day of touring. We had tea, the Julia Robert’s smoothie and strawberry cake. It was the perfect comfy cozy place for us to have an enjoyable conversation and pregame for the evening ahead. Good choice!

A wonderful restaurant with extremely friendly, professional staff and great food. Because of its open size, the room is as impressive as it is bright - one can only be bought with the other. I had a lot of fun here.

Das Restaurant hat ein tolles Ambiente und ist - was wir wussten - sehr hochpreisig. Das Essen war wie immer gut. Befremdlich fanden wir allerdings, dass ein winziges Brot mit ein bisschen gesalzener Butter 5 Euro kostet. Unter gutem Service bei den Preisen würden wir verstehen, dass mam Brot und Butter einfach hingestellt bekommt.

Holbein's is a restaurant and café in an upscale atmosphere within or directly at the Städel Museum. We really enjoyed the cakes and coffee specialties. The restaurant is really beautifully designed with attention to detail. The service was also top. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and at the same time very human and humorous. We felt very comfortable and ate well.

Great location, very nice service

I tried their four course menu with wine pairing First course: artichokes tartar (a salad), was unimpressive Second course: gyoza os edamame, why? Third: ribs with potato, was ok Forth: something with chocolate and grapefruit, was good. The servers were not presenting what they were serving and I eventually gave up asking. The wine pairing was nonsensical. To add insult to injury, the host would not give me to a table for one, he offered me to sit at the bar instead. He eventually gave in when I told him that I would not have a for course menu in a bar. Half of the restaurant was still empty when I left. It was ridiculous.

The restaurant located in Frankfurt am Main right next to the river. We had a late lunch, lovely atmosphere, the waitress was very happy to serve ( very unlikely than other restaurants in Germany) The food was delicious however there was no sushi and sashimi on the Sundays. But overall it was very nice place to go for weekends.

Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm: Hoher luftiger Raum und von Licht durchflutet. Auch die Dame vom Service tat ihr Bestes. Was uns verblüfft hat, war wie uninspiriert und sehr durchschnittlich die Speisen auf den Teller kamen. Die Trüffel auf den Tagliarini waren geschmacksneutral und wirkten nur als Deko und das zu einem Preis von 34 € ! Auch die anderen Speisen waren einfacher Durchschnitt zu Höchstpreisen. Ein Stück Kuchen und Kaffee würden wir noch einmal dort nehmen, essen sicher nicht.

Der kleine Braune (Espresso) war der beste überhaupt!

Einer der schönsten und besten Restaurants in Frankfurt am Main die gibt es schon seit 1999 und immer gleich bleibend an service und Essen Qualität ich liebe das Restaurant abends gibt es in der Woche noch Live Musik manchmal auch am Wochenenden DJ mit Begleitender Musik hier stimmt alles im Sommer ist die Terrasse ein Muss. Holbeins hat den besten Espresso in Frankfurt ab und zu komme ich gerne hier her gefahren um mir einen Espresso zu gönnen vielen Dank und weiterhin viel Erfolg weiter so liebes Holbeins Team.

Wir haben es genossen, als Vorspeise empfehlen wir den Tataki von Ikarami Wildlachs dazu als Hauptspeise Geschmorte U.S. Short Ribs. Dazu haben wir ein Sancerre Wein als köstlich empfunden. Der Service war aufmerksam, exzellent liebenswert……

Es ist nicht so einfach am 29.Dezember für einen Jahres-/Hochzeitstag ein gutes Restaurant zu finden. Das Holbeins ist eine super Location. Für Frankfurt etwas sehr besonderes Das Essen (Weihnachtsmenü mit Hirsch im Hauptgang) war tadellos. Leider gab es (für mich ein paar Service-Probleme). Es gab keinen festen Kellner. Immer wieder unterschiedliche Kellner brachten Speisen/Getränke. Die Weinbegleitung zum Menü wurde nicht am Tisch eingegossen. Ich sehe gern auch die Flasche und weiss, was ich trinke. So wurde zum Hauptgericht (auf Wunsch Weisswein) das Glas verwechselt und der Dessertwein serviert. Ausser einer leichten Entschuldigung gab es keine Kompensatiob (Ersatzglas/Reduktion der Rechnung). Für meinen Geschmack schade bei einem Restaurant mit dem Anspruch (und Preis). So war es ein 'OK' Abend, aber nicht toll.

If you are vegan, there's not much for you to find here... But the staff is very nice and try to cater for your needs anyway. So I would say it is a good place, but not for everyone. :)

Friendly service. Perfect lunch

Serviceorientierter Gaumenschmauss Das Essen war wieder mal fantastisch! Wirklich ganz große Klasse. An dieser Stelle nochmal ein riesen Lob in die Küche! Im Holbeins bekommt man jedoch nicht nur Essen der Extraklasse sowie ein sehr schönes geräumiges, wohlig, warmes Ambiente geboten sondern auch einen Spitzenservice der Kellner. Schon beim reinkommen wurden wir mit einem herzlichen lächeln empfangen statt mit einem musternden Blick und einem harten „Haben sie reserviert?“, wie es in gewissen anderen Nobelrestaurants eher die Regel als die Ausnahme ist. Das hat uns persönlich sehr gut gefallen, weswegen wir uns auch ein Jahr nach unserem ersten Besuch mehr als freudig daran zurück erinnerten und gleich wieder gekommen sind. Als besonders warmherzig freundlich und auf Augenhöhe ist uns der Kellner Frank begegnet. Der Mann versteht sein Handwerk. Nur eine kurze Beschreibung eines gewünschten Rotweins genügte und er brachte uns eine Auswahl die geschmacklich voll ins schwarze getroffen hat. Das Essen wurde in zeitlich perfekten Abständen und dem nötigen Fingerspitzengefühl serviert. Mein Wasser musste ich nicht einmal selbst nachschenken, denn das hatte Frank noch vor mir erkannt. Wahnsinnig beeindruckend. Vielen Dank lieber Frank und liebes Team des Holbeins für diesen tollen Abend und den mehr als einwandfreien Service. Bei einem solchen Erlebnis kommt jeder gern wieder! Behalten sie sich das unbedingt bei. Was gibt es in der Gastronomie besseres als Erstklassiges Essen gepaart mit einem Spitzenservice? Richtig: Nichts. Wer hier Essen geht tätigt keine Ausgabe sondern ein Investment in einen unvergesslichen Lebensmoment! Liebe Grüße vom Tisch #60.

Wir haben unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit im Holbeins gefeiert. Von vorne bis hinten hat einfach alles gestimmt. Die Menüzusammenstellung war reibungslos im Vorfeld, auch der sehr aufmerksame Service an der Feier ist uns sehr positiv aufgefallen. Über das Essen brauchen wir nicht zu sprechen: alles auf den Punkt. Das einzige, was wir bei einer nächsten Feier anders machen würden, wäre die Wahl der vom Holbeins empfohlenen Floristin.

Edles Restaurant direkt am Museum.

Wir haben im letzten Jahr unsere Hochzeit im Holbeins gefeiert und es war ein absoluter Traum. Die Vorbereitungen auf den Tag waren schon einmal hoch professionell und wir konnten wirklich alle unsere Wünsche äußern und es wurde auch alles so gemacht, wie wir es wollten - es gab einfach keine Probleme. Das Probeessen war toll und mega unkompliziert. Wir hatten schnell unsere Speisen ausgesucht und haben uns riesig auf den Tag gefreut. Der Abend selbst war dann einfach nur GENIEßEN. Alles hat gepasst: der Empfang war auf der Terasse und wir haben bei tollem Wetter, leckere Drinks und tolles Fingerfood bekommen, später ging es dann in die Location wo wir ein gesetztes Menü bekommen haben, bei dem einfach alles gepasst hat. Selbst das Fleisch war einfach on point. Der Service war weltklasse - alle hatten gute Laune und es war mega professionell. Alle Gäste (fast 100!) hatten gleichzeitig das Essen und man konnte gemeinsam genießen, unsere Gäste hatten immer volle Gläser und so muss das an einer einmaligen Veranstaltung wie einer Hochzeit sein. Abends wurde die Party nach unten verlegt und der Mitternachts-Snack und die Drinks waren wieder top. Wir würden jedem empfehlen dort zu heiraten. Es war für uns einfach perfekt. Liebes Holbein's-Team, danke, dass ihr euch so viel Zeit für uns genommen habt und den Tag für uns unvergesslich gemacht habt. Wir würden jederzeit wieder bei euch heiraten und freuen uns auf unseren Hochzeitstag, den wir mit Sicherheit bei euch feiern werden! DANKE!

Nothing better than wonderful food after inspiring art.

Das Essen und das Ambiente sind super! Allerdings ist der Service echt schlecht. Ich gebe gerne ein Beispiel: Das Essen kam knapp 45 Minuten nicht und der Laden war nicht mal ansatzweise voll. Nach Rückfrage kam nur der Satz "Ja, Sie wurden übersprungen. Danach wurden wir noch 3x übersprungen 😂 Der Dame hat es offensichtlich nicht mal Leid getan und war genervt von so einer in ihren Augen frechen Frage. Da isst man einmal für 200€ und wird so bedient.. Ich gehe nie wieder in dieses Lokal. Da gehe ich lieber 6x in die tolle Fischbude um die Ecke, obwohl man es sich leisten könnte. Da ist die Bedienung wenigstens herzlich und das Essen kommt nach 15 Minuten. Der größte Witz war, dass der Geburtstagskuchen erst 30 Minuten nach Bezahlung kam als "Überraschung ded Hauses". War wabbelig mit ner dicken Schicht Gelantine. Lasst es einfach gleich, ganz ehrlich. Im Lafleur/Tiger und Palmen bei der Konkurrenz ist man da wesentlich besser aufgehoben. Da wird Service noch gelebt! Aber für nen Salat und ein Bier kann man dort hingehen. Das ging bei den anderen Gästen problemlos. Nur unsere Erfahrung, vielleicht einfach Pech gehabt.

Selten gibt‘s das noch in Frankfurt, aber tatsächlich ist hier alles perfekt. Service, Ambiente, Aufmerksamkeit und nicht zuletzt das Essen. Man zahlt ausnahmsweise mal gerne eine höheren Preis.

Ein feines Restaurant direkt am/im Museum. Einfach schon für das Ambiente lohnt es sich hin zu gehen. Es kann drinnen oder draußen auf der großen Terrasse gegessen werden. Das Essen ist hochpreisiger (3-Gänge Menü mit Gläschen Champagner für 75 €) aber super lecker und auch rin Augenschmaus. Es gibt ein vegetarisches Menü und eines mit Fisch oder Fleisch. Dazu kommen allesamt super zuvorkommende Servicekräfte und eine saubere, große und Museums-würdige Toilette. Parkplätze sind in der Strasse vor dem Restaurant vorhanden. Eine klare Empfehlung.
