The food is excellent, but unfortunately, the website doesn't state that card payments aren't accepted. I didn't like that.

Although the food was really good, I won't be visiting this restaurant again. Once again, I was struck by the very poor service. The staff seemed unmotivated and downright unfriendly; we didn't feel like welcome guests, but more like a chore. When I decided not to tip, the waiter took the money for the meal without comment, turned around without a word, and didn't even say goodbye. This behavior unfortunately completely overshadowed the positive impression of the meal. What a shame.

Superb food. We spontaneously visited Hoi An and were extremely surprised by the amazing food. The mango salad was a pure explosion of flavor, and the duck and curry were fantastic. The soup was also impressive.

They only accept cash. There's an ATM outside the restaurant. But you're not paying attention. The food is good, the portions are generous. The cocktails are great for taking photos.

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, about four times a year. The food is consistently fantastic. Always perfectly seasoned and always of high quality. The atmosphere is wonderful. It's like a mini-vacation. The staff is always friendly. The price is absolutely reasonable. The surrounding area also has a lot to offer, especially in summer. Definitely worth a visit. My return visit confirms what I said above. The portion sizes are also impressive. You'll definitely be full. Many people try to cut costs here.

As regular Hoi An guests, we are always thrilled with the cuisine. Always fresh, always delicious, beautifully prepared and, if desired, very spicy. Full five points for that. But what's wrong with the service team??? Every time the service becomes less attentive. The two boys play around behind the counter, always on their cell phones, clearly in a good mood. The guests on the other side of the counter sometimes wait forever for the opportunity to order or pay for drinks. That really doesn't work at all...

Very tasty, traditional cuisine with great, unobtrusive staff. Of course not as spicy as the original in Vietnam, but highly recommended. Only the chairs could get a new cover. But they are of course heavily used because the restaurant is always fully booked. We'll be back! The Harburg harbor is always worth a visit!

I was in Hamburg for vacation and luckily found Hoi An – what a gem! The food was absolutely delicious, both when dining in and getting takeout. The service was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

We had dinner at the harbor in Harburg. We made reservations in advance. It was well attended for a Thursday. It has a lovely ambience decorated with silk lanterns. Very dark but relaxing. The chairs could use new covers. The Vietnamese food was good. My dish came lukewarm. Prices are ok. Selection available. Very nice staff.

We were here in August '24 and now again in March '25. The first time we tried it, we were thrilled with the quality, freshness, taste and everything else. Even the wontons are homemade, which isn't something you get often. In just under 7 months, none of this was lost. It's still the same standard and that's great. You don't always have that. We can't judge whether it's authentically Vietnamese. We have never been to Vietnam. Personally, I have too many greens on my food to make it look pretty. The pure food shines enough, there is no need for decoration. (My personal feeling) The only downside was that no card payment was possible. But it wasn't bad. There's a bank less than a hundred meters away 😅 And thanks to Hoi An, I am now addicted to hoisin sauces 😅 On the weekend you should definitely reserve a table. It's very well attended.

Very tasty food Portions could be a bit bigger

Actually always very good, although apparently changing chefs deliver different quality. The taste is mostly constant, but the differences arise in the dish's sometimes extremely coarse and carelessly cut vegetable and salad pieces, but also in the composition of the ingredients. Sometimes drinks are forgotten, but this is rare and is quickly dealt with. Unfortunately, I also have to take a critical look at the fact that, on the one hand, you can ONLY pay with cash, but at the same time you don't get a receipt or even a receipt. Will this still be permissible in 2025?

We were there on a Friday afternoon. It was very crowded and the background noise was correspondingly high. However, still good enough to have a quiet conversation. The fast service despite the full restaurant is particularly commendable. The starters were very good, the food also impressed us and I found the prices very appropriate and not overpriced.

Visited Hoi An in Harburg Harbor today, nice Vietnamese 🍴 restaurant! We were here at 1 p.m. and the restaurant was just emptying of lunch guests. Beautifully furnished interior with lots of lampshades on the ceiling, reminds you a bit of vacation in here. We ordered from the lunch menu. We had 3 starters, a Min Ga soup chicken with glass noodles and coriander, spring rolls with sweet and sour chilly sauce and summer rolls with dip. All very 😋 delicious. The main course was tofu with udon noodles in curry, a mango curry with sweet potatoes and chicken, and I fried chicken with 🍠 sweet potatoes and rice in a spicy curry sauce. Finally, a Vietnamese espresso with sweet milk, completely different to what you are used to. Price-performance very good, and good portions. The service is very 😊 friendly and attentive! Clear recommendation to eat here!

A really nice and familiar Vietnamese restaurant. It is often quite busy, so a reservation is recommended. Unfortunately you can only pay in cash, but that is probably a reaction to the high costs that a card terminal incurs today.

Good but… The food is really great and the atmosphere is harmonious. That's why 3 stars. You mainly come for the food. In terms of price (lunch menu) it's perfectly fine and in keeping with the times. Unfortunately, the toilets are unhygienic and you look for soap and paper in vain. The staff seems demotivated and absent. A big drawback, it is absolutely not possible to pay with the card. There are banners at the entrance, on every window, etc. that you can only pay in cash. We asked anyway, just for fun. Of course it didn't work. ;) All in all good food in a nice atmosphere with fair prices. Nothing more… Solid 3 stars

We visited Hoi An in Hamburg-Harburg today and had an overall pleasant experience. To eat: We ordered the pasta salad with chicken and the mango salad with scampi. Both dishes tasted good, but rather standard - tasty, but without any special surprises. For dessert we chose the fried rice cake with sweet filling and sesame. Surprisingly, we received three sesame balls, which wasn't clear from the menu description - but the taste was definitely good. Service & Atmosphere: The service was okay, although we had to wait quite a long time to be served even though the restaurant wasn't particularly full. A little more attention would have been welcome here. However, we found the ambience and furnishings very appealing - lovingly designed and in keeping with the Vietnamese style. Conclusion: A nice restaurant with solid Vietnamese cuisine. The food was good, although not exceptional. The service could be more attentive, but the ambience makes up for it. 3.5 to 4 stars from us.

The food (rice noodles with shrimps and rice noodles with chicken) was really tasty, but unfortunately a bit cold. There is a lot of lettuce on the dish. Personally, it didn't keep me full for long. I find the portion for 18€ (with shrimp 20€) a bit too expensive. The service is so good - even though the restaurant was not very busy in the afternoon, it took a relatively long time before we could order. The staff seems hectic and scattered, but maybe it was just a "bad day". Positively, changes were possible upon request. I don't find it difficult to pay by card these days.

Das Hoi An ist sowohl für den schnellen Lunch als auch den gemütlichen Abend mit Freunden geeignet. Die Bedienung ist immer schnell und dabei sehr freundlich. Wir gehen gern dorthin. Egal an welchem Wochentag. Die Abendkarte bietet allerlei Leckereien. Die Chefin ist immer selbst anwesend und guckt, das alles läuft.

A visit is always worthwhile. Uncomplicated and quick. Good price-performance ratio. The boss is always on site herself. Whether it was a quick lunch or an evening with friends: it was always good. And always delicious.

Good, tasty food in sufficient quantities, pleasantly a bit narrow and the toilet area is also special for long people.

The Hoi An restaurant in Hamburg-Harburg offers a welcoming atmosphere and fresh Vietnamese cuisine. The dish I tried was visually appealing and made with crunchy vegetables and tender rice noodles. Particularly noteworthy is the use of fresh herbs, which round off the taste of the dish. Service was attentive and friendly, with food served in a reasonable time. One small point of criticism: The seasoning could have been a little more intense to bring out the authentic Vietnamese taste even better. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant with a great selection of fresh dishes.

The food is perfectly fine - comparable to the average of all Asians in Hamburg. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are inadequately equipped. Instead of paper towels, you should dry your hands with facial tissues - you won't find soap. That's disgusting when you imagine that all the guys are now spreading their coli bacteria in the restaurant. And at the end we have to pay a three-digit amount in cash... that's NOT possible these days. We always get the feeling of tax evasion when we have to pay in cash. It can't be because of the costs - no card reader including transaction costs is as expensive as holding cash (employees walk to the bank, stand in line for hours, make payments, get change...). So we had to walk to the ATM. The staff's recommendation was an overpriced ATM from a cash shark. The Haspa ATM would not work. I still went to Haspa and got free cash from a well-functioning ATM. Next time we'll eat next door - same quality, more hygiene and card payment.

Always enjoy delicious food in a nice atmosphere

If you really want to eat very good Vietnamese food, there is no way around this restaurant. The quality, freshness and taste is very good.

Super nice Asian restaurant in Harburg near the water. Here you can treat yourself to authentic Vietnamese food in the cozy restaurant. Anyone who has ever been to Hoi An in Vietnam will feel transported back there. The atmosphere was simply magical. There were a lot of different dishes and it was difficult for me to choose from all the delicacies. We were here with work colleagues. In the end I took duck and none of the Vietnamese specialties. As a starter there were spring rolls and wontons, all very tasty. Duck was juicy. Super generous portions, so you'll definitely be full. The rice here is special because it is not the typical white cooked rice like in other restaurants. The waiter Minh was super attentive and very friendly! Overall worth a visit.

Das Essen , obwohl mit 2 Chilis bewertet war fade. Angeblich mit Kräutern, es handelte sich um ein Petersilienbüschel. Koriander war bestellt, landete dann aber in einem Schälchen auf dem Tisch. Nach Reklamation wurde scharfe Sauce draufgekippt. Das für 20€, schlimm.

What can I say - we've never had such good Vietnamese food!! We ordered there for the first time yesterday and were blown away, so we had to order the same food again today. We were accidentally given another order which we were kindly allowed to keep in addition to our actual order when we returned it :) of course we had to snack on it and the soup in it was to die for. It's a shame we don't live here, otherwise Hoi An would definitely have two new regular guests

The selection of dishes is very good and everyone can find something that suits them. It is possible to order a dish from the starters. We were there with the family. It makes sense to reserve a table.

The food is still good, but unfortunately the staff wasn't as attentive for a long time and seemed very listless. Unfortunately I can't recommend a single cocktail. You can save yourself the money and order a spritzer instead. It has just as little alcohol and is definitely cheaper.

We really liked the restaurant. I recommend reserving a table as it can be very busy in the evenings. The homemade drinks are absolutely recommended. We liked the food very much, much better than many other Vietnamese, but it was a few euros more expensive. The location is nicely designed and the service was also very attentive and courteous. Too much iceberg lettuce in every dish. So all the dishes looked the same and you couldn't tell whether they were appetizing. Mango lassi was too runny. At the end of the meal the waiter informed us that you can only pay in cash. There is a Sparkasse ATM nearby that will be out of service until the end of the year and a second that charges high interest rates. All of this left an unpleasant experience. The duck was crispy and delicious.

The food is fresh and very tasty! Desserts are really great and with Vietnamese coffee it is perfectly rounded off. The atmosphere is really cute. The service is totally friendly and attentive. Everything is just right here.

Variety dishes with affordable price

Great place! The service is very nice and they speak English. The menu includes a good variety of Vietnamese dishes I recommend their Pho Xao. We also had Goi Cuon and Ca Ri Ga. The amount of food per dish is quite big and good for the price. Everything was just delicious and they gave us fortune cookies! The only thing to take into account is that they don’t have credit card as payment option so you need cash. But there’s an ATM right next to the place, so no excuses to enjoy!

The food is okay the staff is friendly. But be aware that it is a "cash only" restaurant. Just beside the restaurant there is a ATM automat but they charge you 20euros when taking out money. For 2024 it is a big minus that one cannot pay by credit card.
