Wer vietnamesische Küche mag, ist hier genaurichtig. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants wird man von einer warmen und einladenden Atmosphäre empfangen, die sofort ein Gefühl von Wohlbefinden vermittelt. Die Speisekarte ist vielfältig und bietet eine beeindruckende Auswahl an authentischen vietnamesischen Gerichten. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die frischen und aromatischen Zutaten, die jedes Gericht zu einem geschmacklichen Highlight machen. Ob Pho, Banh Mi oder frische Sommerrollen – alles ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Der Service im New Saigon ist ebenfalls erstklassig. Das Personal ist stets freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgt dafür, dass jeder Besuch zu einem angenehmen Erlebnis wird. Die herzliche Gastfreundschaft macht den Aufenthalt hier besonders angenehm. Insgesamt ist das New Saigon ein großartiger Ort, um die vietnamesische Küche in einer gemütlichen und authentischen Umgebung zu genießen. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Nicht gut sehr schlechte Qualität

Das Essen war fade, aber der Service war noch viel schlimmer. Die ältere Dame an der Kasse war ziemlich unfreundlich – nicht gerade geschäftsfördernd. Die Lage war allerdings gut.

Schnelle Zubereitung der Speisen sowie viele Sitzmöglichkeiten drinnen und draußen. Nur Kartenzahlung möglich. Für 2 Hauptgerichte + Sommerollen und Cola haben wir ca 30€ bezahlt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist völlig ok.

An sie Essen in Ordnung, aber der Service ist das schlimmste, was ich jemals erlebt habe. Rotes Thai-Curry bestellt, falsches Essen bekommen, Reklamation fehlgeschlagen. Essen wurde nicht zurückgenommen, es musste der volle Preis für das neue Essen gezahlt werden, auch erst Essen dann zahlen, gibt’s da nicht. Und nur Barzahlung…kann sich ein jeder denken, warum. Einfach nur frech und unglaubliche Abzocke! So etwas unfreundliches und gemeines habe ich selten erlebt. 1 Stern meiner Meinung nach zu viel!

Günstiger Preis, schneller Service und leckere asiatische Küche. Es liegt in der Nähe des Veranstaltungsortes Kampnagel und ist daher ideal für die Mittagspause oder das Abendessen.

Wir nehmen hier ab und zu was To-Go mit & ich muss echt sagen: bestes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! :) Das Essen ist immer lecker - besonders die Pho und die Bun! Ganz großes Lob 😍

Gericht mit Garnelen statt Hühnchen bestellt und der Preis wurde verdoppelt (15€ statt 7,50€). Dreist so mit Stammgästen umzugehen und Fantasiepreise abzurufen, die dann nur bar bezahlt werden können (kann man sich denken warum). Essenqualität ist schlecht. War das letzte Mal dort.

WanTan leider viel zu fettig und wenig Füllung. Kennen wir durchaus besser.Leider nur Barzahlung.

Ich komme seit 2011 hierher und es ist immer ein sehr preiswertes und leckeres Essen! Ich empfehle die Sommerrollen und Bun Bo (Nr. 2 und Nr. 44).

Ich weiß auch nicht... Gebratene Nudeln mit Hühnerfleisch isst man ja oft, hier schmecken sie einfach immer am Besten. Nicht zu stark gewürzt, viel Gemüse dabei, frisch und lecker. Ich komme hier so gerne her! Auch der Reisnudelsalat und das Sushi ist unschlagbar. Die junge Frau am Bestelltresen ist immer gut gelaunt und nett. Freundlicher Service auch wenn man 20 min vor Ladenschluss reinkommt. Und die Preise sind mehr als fair. Das Essen innerhalb weniger Minuten fertig. Bitte macht weiter so! Ihr seid mein Lieblingsladen in der ganzen Nachbarschaft. <3

Das beste Essen was ich seit langem gegessen habe. New Saigon ist in Frische der Zutaten nicht zu übertreffen. Die 37 ein Hochgenuss. So frische Zutaten, geschmacklich so frisch und lecker. Zitronengras war gut rauszuschmecken und die leichte Knoblauchnote , perfekt 👌🏻 Super gute Portion zu einem sehr guten Preis. Vielen Dank für das leckere Essen!

Sauberer Laden, gepflegt, und die Küche wirkt organisiert. Wir haben zwei verschiedene Sachen bestellt und beides kam gleichzeitig, großer Pluspunkt. Geschmacklich gut, vor allem die frischen Kräuter haben’s rausgerissen. Negativ: etwas wenig vegetarische Auswahl (zumindest heute). Komme gern wieder.

Sehr Lecker, authentisch, relativ günstig. Einige Gerichte haben eine schwere Soße, das gefällt mir persönlich nicht so gut, aber das Pad Thai ist seeeeehr gut, der Tofu mit Pol Choi ebenfalls super. Atmo ist eher ein Imbiss, aber das Essen ist wirklich gut.

Die gebratenen Nudeln bei New Saigon waren richtig lecker! Besonders das Hähnchen wird nicht gegeizt – reichlich, saftig und perfekt gewürzt. Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die leckeres vietnamesisches Essen lieben

Ich habe nicht die ganze Speisekarte durchgelesen, aber ich kann nur sagen: Wirklich gutes asiatisches Essen. Leckere Frühlingsrollen, tolle Suppen und schmackhaftes Fleisch. Ein Restaurant, das ich immer wieder gerne besuche. Authentische asiatische Küche.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable for Hamburg. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants around 👍🏼 Update December 26th: I got fried rice with chicken and I'm stunned by how little chicken there was. I could have just ordered vegetarian; there were ONLY 4 pieces!!! The price is still great, but this is outrageous. Why don't you just raise the prices if I get so little chicken for €7.50? The service has deteriorated significantly; I won't be coming back!

Super delicious food, friendly staff and a lovely interior.

There is simply a lack of humanity

A lack of humanity is a top priority here. We have two homeless people on this street who are always nice, friendly, and not at all pushy. When I came home with my family yesterday, they were sitting in front of the Haspa again (it was about 5 degrees outside). My husband and I decided to treat them to dinner. They wanted something from New Saigon. I went in with them and wanted to order something. The lady at the cash register had a smile on her face, but she was still unfriendly. Instead of saying hello, her first response was: "What's this place with the beer and champagne?" Of course, that's not welcome, BUT the two homeless people were quiet, polite, and not at all disruptive. We all know that when people have nothing, their most valuable possessions are usually their bottles, and they don't just leave them outside. When I ordered the food for them, the next response was: "But they don't want to eat here, do they?" I have to be honest, I think it's really awful! There certainly could have been a side seat. I think it's very, very awful to treat people who are already down and out like this. Again, these two were calm, friendly, not disruptive, and were simply happy to receive a warm meal, which they could even choose. They then had to eat it outside in the cold. I'm very disappointed with what this society has become and how such people are treated. You should think about whether this was the right thing to do. I definitely won't recommend this restaurant.

I ordered 30 fried rice with chicken and vegetables for €7.50. What arrived was a pile of rice with some vegetables, carrots, and some greens, and barely 20g of chicken. I was briefly shocked. I politely asked again if I could have some more chicken - yes, just an extra €2 - wow, thanks, that was the first and last time.

A complete disappointment. The service was unfriendly, and you're not treated like a guest. The staff are more likely to watch every penny when it comes to making a 30-cent profit from a 0.33 liter Fritz Coke when you don't know which Coke to get from the fridge. Even my first impression was truly disappointing. The food was okay. The duck I ordered was rock-hard. The noodles and sauce were rather mediocre. You could have gotten that at a fast food joint for a better price. Unfortunately, we will never visit this restaurant again.

I order a Coke Zero. I take a Fritz Coke Zero. I don't think anything of it because it's the same drink in the same size, and no one mentioned the brand. I sit at the table and watch the lady go to the lidded container to check which drink I've taken. She called me over and made me show her, like a child, what I'd done. Before she could continue, I said I'd just pay her. She then wanted me to give her 0.30 cents, but kept hesitating. I gave her €2 because she also wanted me to pay for a bowl of water for my dog. When we ordered before, she refused to give me tap water in a disposable bowl because it wasn't hygienic. When I said it was disposable, she said she wasn't allowed to. In my opinion, it couldn't be more unfriendly and with even less sense of customer service.

A lifelong customer - very DISAPPOINTED today. Never again at New Saigon. I remember New Saigon from my childhood; we used to eat there regularly with my family, and I've been a regular customer ever since. The lady at the cash register has known me for a long time, and we've never had any problems. I've always thought the food was good, but today I was very disappointed. It's not just the quality that matters, but also the way you treat your customers/people. I ordered a portion of sushi and a soup as usual. However, there was a misunderstanding today. Maybe I didn't speak clearly enough, or the lady at the cash register didn't understand me correctly. I got the soup and a vegetarian sushi instead of regular sushi. You could say, "Come on, don't be so fussy, vegetarian is delicious too." But not for me. I don't eat vegetables, and that's a problem for me. So I asked at the counter to swap the vegetarian sushi for regular sushi with salmon, but the lady refused. She said she couldn't use it anymore. So I was supposed to buy a new portion of sushi. I don't think I have to justify why I absolutely wanted my order and not the wrong one. I'm not trying to blame anyone either. Mistakes can happen, no matter who made them. That's why I was hoping to exchange the portion (I didn't touch it; the lady was standing next to it). (Which I found odd, because she's not usually there.) The Prague sushi was also mixed up. But I had ordered sushi with salmon, definitely not vegetarian. The cheeky tone, "Tough luck," is what disappointed me so much. I think as a restaurant/business, you should be able to plan for such mistakes and accommodate your customers. She vehemently refused to do this. I asked again if she could make an exception. She grinned and said no. I was very sad about it because I was looking forward to the sushi with salmon. Many people can't understand it; for me, vegetable or vegetarian sushi is simply out of the question. I don't have to justify that. However, I find the way she treated me today and the stubborn, "it's my own fault" attitude inhumane and not customer-friendly. I understand it's difficult for many, and they want to save money. But where humanity is lacking, I don't want to eat anymore. I was very sad that I wasn't even remotely accommodated, even though I'm a regular customer. What I also find unfortunate is that on another day, I wasn't allowed to use the restroom because I hadn't ordered anything that day, even though she's known me since I was a child. Unfortunately, business and making money take precedence over humanity at New Saigon. It's a shame. I don't want to go there anymore. I also noticed that she's very unfriendly towards women, but very sycophantic and overly friendly towards men. Strange behavior. Service 0 stars

poor service and food not tasty

It was really bad. The shrimp wasn't that fresh, and the noodles were very greasy. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to eat healthy. The woman at the checkout was also very unfriendly. Never again!

I love eating here. It's very tasty and reasonably priced. Parking is sometimes difficult, as the small parking lot is often completely full.

After paddling on the Alster, we stopped at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant. The food was good and reasonably priced. A large selection of different dishes.

I've been there several times because the food is really good. Unfortunately, the unfriendly attitude of the cashier isn't the first time I've noticed a negative attitude. A friendlier approach would have significantly improved the experience.

Great value for money, and the food is good. The quantity and quality have declined somewhat. I sometimes go there several times a week.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this restaurant deserves it! The food is incredibly delicious, the prices are super good, and the service is super friendly and quick. Today I even arrived at closing time at 10 p.m., but my order was still taken courteously, and they managed to prepare three appetizers and two main courses within five minutes. So far, I think it's the best everyday restaurant I've been to.

The food is truly delicious – the baked chicken breast in particular is a real highlight. The dishes arrive quickly, and the portions are large and filling – and the prices are fair. You can sit outside on the pleasant terrace, where the sun shines on your face when the weather is nice – a perfect lunch break! The only small drawback: Payment is cash only.

The food is always delicious; we've been customers for at least 10 years. It's a small self-service shop, but the service is always great and very friendly. There are also three parking spaces behind the building.

Not safe for gluten intolerance- Gluten intolerant here. I wanted to have Pho soup so after reading the two reviews here claiming its gluten-free, I ordered Pho. I showed the lady at the counter a note saying „Bitte GLUTEN FREI“. She read it and seemed to have understood. I’m pretty sure cross-contamination happened. They have no clue of gluten safety.

No card payment is an absolute no-go these days

Can't really complain, except for the highest standards...It's even cheaper than other places, the wait for food is almost never a problem, and everything is pretty quick. Plus, the food almost always tastes the same; I highly recommend it! 👍

A few days ago, I was at New Saigon again, but the visit was disappointing. The cashier was busy cleaning her fingernails, and I ordered my selections from the wall list. When I picked up my soup and the meal, I was particularly disappointed by the soup, which was transparent and lacking much flavor. The meal was also pretty standard, so I'll skip another visit.

I've been coming here for ten years. It used to be quite uncomfortable, but since the renovation, you can eat your self-picked meals quite well in the back area. There aren't enough small tables in my opinion. You might have to sit with other people at the large table. About the food: I've noticed that the quality of the food is declining significantly year after year. Everything went wrong when we ordered. We ordered number 2, number 52, number 53,... We received number 2, number 3, and number 52. Generally, that's not a problem. You can always mishear something. But the lady at the cashier starting an argument because she didn't understand the numbers correctly is completely unacceptable. Okay, hospitality can be different! I complained about number 3 and it was changed to 53: it was supposed to be duck with vegetables and Szechuan sauce. We got a dark sauce pudding with the deep-fried duck; unfortunately, there were no vegetables. A few pieces of onion and thin slices of carrot in this soy mush aren't really worth mentioning on the menu. The food was repeatedly complained about. And once again, I had an argument with the lady at the cash register (possibly the owner). I swapped the pudding for mango salad and paid the difference again. I ate there, but the atmosphere was ruined. Good service and quality can be achieved elsewhere. The owner seems to be full enough... I certainly won't be satisfying my hunger there again!

I was here for the first time today. A self-service Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Service is nice and very attentive. The cuisine is very typically Vietnamese/Asian. The food was excellent, plentiful and freshly prepared. I can recommend: Pho with beef.

The food was delicious and fresh. The ginger tea was very nicely presented. For me it wasn't typical Vietnamese cuisine... I don't know where all the Chinese restaurants have gone... The service was friendly, but it's more of a good, solid pick-up snack bar than a restaurant. This makes it easy to pay.

I ordered vegetarian food but received it with meat.

My recommendation. Good food, fresh, not burnt but tasty and sufficient quantities. I'm a regular.

Tastiest, fastest, friendliest Vietnamese in Winterhude. Nowhere else can you eat so well and so cheaply. I've been a regular for years and there will be many more to come.

We were here for the first time today and were really impressed. It's very clean here and the staff is really very friendly. The restaurant is very comfortably furnished and the toilets are also very clean. You can see well into the kitchen and it is really very clean. The food was very tasty and the portions were very good and well prepared. The fact that it's self-service isn't a bad thing either, because the service is still great. A great price/performance ratio.

Price-performance phenomenal. The Szechuan beef was incredibly delicious. I will come by very often. 👌

Fast food at a fair price and tasted absolutely fine

Discovered by chance and feeling very hungry, I ordered #GotCuan Tom (summer rolls) as a starter and #PhoXao Tom (rice noodles with vegetables and shrimps) as my main course. Both tasted very fresh and fantastically tasty, as the dishes are all freshly prepared without pre-cooking, you can see the kitchen being prepared at the counter :-)

Very friendly staff, always excellent food. I had a variety of dishes, including so sushi! Everything was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing as well.

I ordered Tom Khaigai soup yesterday and got a stomach bug the night after. The soup was very watery and didn't taste good at all, there was a bit of chicken and champions swimming in it. The soup was probably very old. I eat there very often and have found the food to be okay for cheap fast food. Now I'm thinking about whether I'll continue to eat there. I don't even want to talk about the unfriendly woman at the checkout counter.

Food was ok, maybe a little bit of sauce. But I could have asked. The food was solid, but nothing special. But what bothers me: no card payment and apparently no TSE cash register either. This combination gives me a strange impression.

The “New Saigon” is a popular “Viatnamese” located on Jarrestraße/Winterhude, but also covers the culinary spectrum of Southeast Asia. The Thai Phat Thai (No. 96) is recommended, the cold, fresh, crunchy summer rolls with mango sauce (No. 2) and much more. The food is excellent, the price is more than fair. Filling main meals are available for under €10. The drinks prices are also okay (e.g. 0.5l Becks bottle for €3.50). This combination makes the “New Saigon” the number one destination near Kampnagel. At lunchtime, the surrounding employees stream into the restaurant (with an outdoor area), so there can be a queue, but this is quickly cleared. The location is also appreciated by price-conscious families for its good selection. After ordering and paying at the counter there is a wireless alarm. You find your seat and pick up the dish you ordered at the kitchen counter when it beeps (tip: there is a small button on the back of the device that can be used to turn off the alarm). After eating, you place your dishes on the return racks provided. Table reservations are not possible and card payment is not possible. A bit of self-service. There is cheap yet excellent food with a nice selection from Vietnam and Thailand.

I think the food is good and I like going there

A good place to go for Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The “Green Combo Platter” (vegetarian sushi) is also always good. Duck on mango salad is great too! Very fair prices and everything is prepared quickly and freshly. There are no conditions at the place and depending on where you sit it is more or less nice. Unfortunately no card payment possible. I always enjoy coming here!

Unfortunately, today I received stale food again and again for the last time. It was probably prepared a day before or even earlier. Unfortunately, the owner didn't want to make me fresh pasta either. Very impolite. The store is always full, but only because of the location.

It's like a canteen - broken down to the essentials - not a place to relax comfortably, but just the right place for a decent, tasty and fairly cheap meal.

You can get your food very quickly here (ideal for an office break). The store is regularly modernized. We've been back for years today and feel like the Pad Thai has gone way down, it's a shame.

Best shop far and wide. Been going there for 5 years and usually get either the 32 or 90! You can't get so much and so much flavor anywhere these days for the price. I can only recommend!

The speed of preparation, self-service and low prices suggest a snack bar. But this is not the case! In terms of quality and taste, the store can easily keep up with, if not even surpass, the relevant restaurants. Everything is freshly prepared in the open kitchen, over the years I have tried pretty much every dish and have never been disappointed! The staff is very friendly and responds to requests for changes - always worth a visit!

The woman at the counter is probably the unfriendly service person I have ever experienced. She sometimes drives guests harshly. The lady should definitely be replaced!

Unfortunately, only regular guests seem to be treated kindly here. My girlfriend and I went in with two small children and a brand new handcart that's not much bigger than a stroller. We were looked at so hatefully by the staff. Yes, little children run around and don't stop even when told repeatedly. What are we supposed to do, shout at them so that they start crying loudly? The little one threw the tiny seat cushions on the floor - which if the floor is clean shouldn't worry the owners. Of course we picked them up immediately. The lady at the checkout didn't return my kindness at all. Then there was a 180 degree turn to the regular customers behind us and she was even able to smile. Conclusion: If you like the snack bar vibe and mediocre Asian food on nice plates for little money (drinks are terribly overpriced), this is the place for you. For everyone else, I recommend the Vietnamese on Bachstrasse, just a few 100 meters away. Unfortunately it's closed on Mondays, otherwise we would have eaten there anyway.

SNACK Food okay with a lot of room for improvement

You can eat your food very nicely and comfortably. From April to October you can also sit outside.

We live close to that self-service restaurant and go there at least 1X per week. It's one of the best places where you can have Pho. The staff is nice and the place is cosy.

Today I ate Padthai and prawns (Togo). Consistency was really good nice with nuts and lemon. However, the taste is more like 3.5 stars. After almost 6.5 hours I am now lying in bed with severe stomach pain. I never had anything like that. Since it has such a clear reference, I can only assume that I don't tolerate this padthai well. I'd better go somewhere else next time. - No current price list online and no possibility of card payment in 2024.
