Hohenstein-Schänke in Wolfsburg

I was visiting my uncle in Wolfsburg with my wife for the first time and he recommended us to visit aalto am See. The result? Amazing! The owner welcomed us with respect and kindness. Me and my wife have traveled a lot in europe but this was one of the best places we have visited. Fantastic service and quality! The mojito was 10/10, the owner promised that they make good mojitos and it was the best one we ever tasted! With respect! Gzim & Ardijana

Great place but the schnitzel was disappointing. We expected a real German one, but this was a breaded factory version. Place and staff were fine and friendly.

The food was very tasty and was served quickly. In terms of price, it's in the upper middle range. Unfortunately my salmon was a little overcooked and therefore really dry in places. I also wished it had been fried on the skin. But all in all. A great dish. My companion's food was also good. Unfortunately, they couldn't give us any information about the variety of the truffles. The service staff was a bit overwhelmed by my question. The information was then that it was fresh truffle. 🤭 What has unfortunately deteriorated over the years is the ambience. The store still looks great in terms of furnishings, just like it did in "Eat with Heart" times, but when I go out for lunch there on a Saturday and there are already old fries and a bunch of crumbs under the table and the sanitary facilities aren't clean either, that doesn't do justice to the first appearance of the store at all. It's also a shame that they no longer have the milkshakes on offer. They always used to be great.

Great atmosphere, great atmosphere. Celebrated my cousin's wedding. The service was super friendly. The food The hot and cold dishes were delicious. Finger food and drinks were wow.

We enjoyed some excellent finger food here, especially the bread with chopped tomatoes—it was a standout! While there weren’t many options, the staff kept circulating with trays, so we could just relax, mingle, and enjoy the evening. The service was attentive, and we were happy with the experience overall!
