Hofhaus am See in Schliersee

We were so excited about our first visit that we came back a few days later. All the dishes were really great, and I have to admit that I'm a very critical eater sometimes. Also beautifully presented. We had reserved both times, so we got a place outside on the terrace, from where you can also see the lake. Very courteous service. So everything is really great.

Good inn, various fish dishes but also Bavarian classics. Overall, the starter and main course were perfectly prepared and tasted good. We were missing that certain something, but still recommended. It's a shame that only wheat beer is available as a non-alcoholic drink and you can only pay in cash. Service very friendly, prices a bit high but okay.

Very nice garden with a great view of Lake Schliersee. Good service. The fish dishes are always very good and very moderate prices for the tourist area.

Only cash! Cash only! I think it's worth mentioning. Mixed grilled fish platter with almond butter tea and herb potatoes, as well as a small salad. The food is good. Just right for me as a “small portion eater”. The staff is very quick, which sometimes creates a feeling of hecticness. This is due to the exposed location and the large number of guests.

I entered the restaurant without a reservation. I was welcomed and I was kindly offered a reserved table for an hour - which was plenty since I was traveling solo. Service was fast and friendly. Loved the uniforms the staff was wearing. My mixed grilled see food plate was delicious. Cozy, ver German atmosphere much to my liking. I would certainly enjoy coming back either solo or with a larger group. But with an advance reservation!

We were there spontaneously, received a very warm welcome and were served in a very friendly manner. The selection of dishes was great, we enjoyed everything very much. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable, especially for the location. Only the toilets are in urgent need of renovation! We'd love to come back!

I was in the restaurant and their fish was incredible. The service was great and they have a nice outdoor terrace facing the lake. -- Three years later... still incredible place, recommended.

Very good food, very friendly service. Prices correspond to the high quality. 10/19/24: Unfortunately, today I have to change my previously good recession to absolutely negative. We once again took a walk around the Schliersee with the aim of having lunch in the Hofhaus. Due to the weather the beer garden was completely occupied. But since a table spontaneously became available on the terrace, we stood in front of the table and when we exchanged "hello" with the waiter, we took a seat. The waiter then went to a table in the beer garden and talked to two others and everyone kept looking at our table. The waiter then came to our table and asked “What where?” We replied that we would like to eat and drink and would like to see the menu. The waiter then replied, “It’s late for dinner, you should have come a few minutes earlier.” We then got up again and as we left the garden, the other guests from the beer garden sat down on the terrace, beaming with joy. At this point it was 1:38 p.m. Lt. There is a warm menu from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I have never been so insulted by a place as by this innkeeper. Therefore preferably minus 5 stars! By the way, we stopped at Schliersee Glöckerl a few steps further. Top food, better price-performance ratio and, above all, top friendly service! This is how you do hospitality!

Wonderful old Bavarian restaurant

Went there for dinner today, the food came quickly and tasted very good. The service is also good.

Were at the Hofhaus am Schliersee on October 6th, 2024. Thanks to the wonderful weather, we were able to sit at a nice table in the sun. After a glass of Prosecco, we had wild salmon tartare as a starter. For the main course there were spinach dumplings and a meatloaf with spaetzle. We ate at the Hofhaus three times during our stay at Schliersee. Every dish was delicious and we will happily come back on our next visit. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The Hofhaus was well attended on all three evenings, reservations are recommended.

We ate in this quaint restaurant twice last week. The food and service leave nothing to be desired. We'd love to come back! German cuisine of this quality is rarely found anymore. Keep it up!! With these advantages, a reservation is recommended!!!

We spontaneously came here for dinner. Luckily there was still a table available. The cuisine is a successful mix of Bavarian tradition and modernity. Very attractively prepared and super tasty! The service was also first class. Super attentive and customer-oriented despite stress. Clear recommendation! Unfortunately, a big negative point: no card payment possible.

Unusual. It couldn't be better. The food was great every time. We were there three times. The desserts in particular are a hit (panna cotta, chocolate cakes). The service is super attentive and the prices are more than fair (almost too low for the quality you get). Clear recommendation, we were totally thrilled. Please make sure to reserve. There's no chance without a reservation, even during the week, it's full every day. But it's absolutely worth it. Our highlight at the lake.

Modest! There are better places. The first impression is not impressive. Nevertheless, the right to exist should not be denied to the restaurant. The cuisine is mediocre.

The food was very tasty, but you can only smile at the show that is put on for the reservation. We reserved a table (beer garden) on Saturday, September 21st, 24, we couldn't have it longer from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., announced when making the reservation. OK. There were still tables available when we were there, but interested parties were turned away en masse - "Everything is reserved", we are fully booked. We left around 6:15 p.m. and passed the restaurant again shortly after 7 p.m. through the alley. Beer garden closed and empty, seats outside of the bar all free, at first glance I didn't see anything inside either. I don't understand this "reservation model" if you want it. By the way, according to the board outside, the kitchen times are 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., and after we had enjoyed our drink, the waitress took one of the two menus away from us as a precaution before ordering our food.

Then we were probably unlucky. When we asked whether our pasta was freshly made, we received a less than polite answer.

We went there for dinner twice this week. It's best to reserve by phone in advance, because if you don't get a spot, you'll miss out. Very, very friendly people who will fulfill your every wish. The food is very tasty. We'll come back when we vacation here again.

Wir waren diese Woche zwei mal zum Essen da. Am Besten vorher telefonisch reservieren, denn wenn ihr kein Platz bekommen würdet, verpasst ihr was. Sehr, sehr freundliche Menschen, die einen jeden Wunsch erfüllen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir hier wieder Urlaub machen.

Great down-to-earth food with a certain something. We enjoyed three courses of very high-quality and perfectly prepared food: “Simple” but high-quality dishes such as caramelized goat cheese, fish with parsley potatoes or handmade pasta with chanterelles, but they were so incredibly tasty that you wanted to indulge. The portions are large, so you'll be full but not overly full. In addition, waiters who spread so much joy (especially Manuel) that all the guests were smiling throughout. Truly an all-round happy experience!

Nice restaurant on Schliersee. Friendly service and very good food. Reservation recommended. Unfortunately, we were not told when making the reservation that payment was only possible in cash, which then became a bit challenging when it came to the bill and slightly spoiled the overall impression. For a restaurant in a tourist area in this day and age, card payment should be possible, hence 1 star deduction.

Were on September 6th and 7th. 5. eat there. Tried a lot of different dishes (starters and main courses plus drinks and some digestifs), everything was very attractively presented and tasted very good! Price/performance top. Attentive service with humor.. highly recommended. We've stayed there in the past and weren't even disappointed. Any time!

Pretty little beer garden, romantic with a beautiful view over Lake Schliersee.

Six out of five would have been appropriate today. We decided to stop by shortly before 5 p.m. today to have a drink and ask if there was room to eat. We were really lucky, there was a free bench in the beer garden for the two of us with a dog. We were led there in a good mood, and seconds later a bowl of fresh water arrived for our companion. The drinks we ordered were on the table in no time, always accompanied by a cheerful saying from the waiter (“When I see dry glasses, my eyes get wet”). We once ordered mixed grill fish variations and the Schliersee loin cuts (medium rare). Here, too, it only took a good ten minutes until it was served. The dishes were both very good, perfectly seasoned for our taste, the steak was on point, very tender, the fish was optimally grilled, crispy skin, easily melted in the mouth. For dessert there was mango sorbet and affogato, a great ending. The spontaneous decision to eat in town instead of in the camper couldn't have been better than going here. Thank you again, we hope to be lucky again tomorrow and get one or two free places!

Third time eating here and the food has always been good, tasty, and served fairly quickly. The wait staff (both) were always very friendly and attentive. We feel very comfortable here, that's why we keep coming back! I highly recommend making a reservation, otherwise it might be difficult to get a table...

Traditional German restaurant. I ordered spinach knödel based on their recommendation. It came with a salad. It was very delicious and light. There are meat and fish dishes. The service is very good. It can be full, so maybe it would be a good idea to make a reservation. I recommend.

Wir waren extra vom Tegernsee hierher gefahren, da man uns den Tipp gegeben hatte, dass es hier frischen Fisch aus dem Schliersee geben sollte. Es war viel Betrieb an diesem Freitag und die Küche wollte schließen. Wir bestellten Bachsaiblingsfilet mit Kartoffeln und einen Mixed Grill vom Fisch. Dazu gab es einen Beilagensalat- anscheinend hatte der Koch keine Zeit die Salatblätter zu zupfen - mussten sie mit dem Messer zerkleinern. Frischen ganzen Fisch gab es nicht. Das Saiblingsfilet sollte gebraten sein - kam aber aus der Fritteuse. Der Mixed Grill bestand aus 3 kleinen Filetstückchen - gegrillt? Dazu Kartoffeln und keine andere Beilage - etwas Gemüse hätte schon gepasst. Insgesamt unerfreulich und unbefriedigend.

Shady terrace with a tree and great lake views. Reservations make sense. Well attended. If you approach a waiter in a friendly manner, you have the best chance of a delicious meal. Drinks quick, food quick, friendly service. Mainly Bavarian cuisine, great seasoning, well prepared, very tasty. Apparently professionals who want and can cook here. I also recommend horseradish soup as a starter.

Perfect start for our hike around Schliersee today! Found a place outside with a view of the lake. There are cushions available for the chairs, you can just get them (at least I did). Some tables were reserved. When we left later, it was just getting more crowded. Nice, quick service with daily recommendations (although none of us followed them); We asked for a second glass plus a bottle of water when the second of us wanted water, very attentive. Food came quickly within less than 15 minutes. My steak was as requested, the fish was tender and the homemade pasta was also great. It's a shame there was no room for dessert. But you can do that again. :)

+ Food, service ++ Location, ambience We stopped here after our trip to Schliersee. The beautiful inn is located very close to the shore and offers a great view of the lake from the cozy beer garden. The benches are comfortable and small maple trees and other plants are arranged invitingly everywhere, and large umbrellas provide soothing shade. The friendly innkeeper served attentively and amused the guests in a charming way. The food was really good, both the fresh fish and the homemade pasta of the day were recommended. The portions were filling and the prices were reasonable for the quality. The drinks were also delicious, I would particularly recommend the Affogato as a dessert, it was really a pleasure - a simple, perfect ending.

Old house from 1564. Exquisite food, warm atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and all the attention was excellent. It also has a garden with a view of the lake.

We sat outside on the small terrace with a perfect view over the lake. The food and service were outstanding! The portions were sufficiently large. Here the price-performance ratio is right for the region.

Upscale Bavarian cuisine, very tasty.

Food was carelessly prepared! The delicacy plate consisted of three carelessly placed tough pieces of meat in a ready-made cream sauce and ready-made spaetzle, dried chives on top and the tasteless experience was ready. Cole slaw was served with it, it was over and already fermenting - it wasn't really edible. The veal cream roast was tough, same ingredients on the plate as mentioned above. When it comes to meat, the chef didn’t bother to remove the “silver skin” and fat! As a side dish, in addition to the ready-made sauce and the ready-made spaetzle, there was red cabbage. This was again so flavored with clove that it was not edible either. Both dishes cost €19 each - a total failure and not recommended.

We were relaxed, but after 20 minutes we left the small beer garden and no one cared. If I try this again, I will inform the boss - because the grumpy staff doesn't care whether you order or leave...

We have been coming here every year for 25 years. In my opinion, the Hofhaus is the best restaurant in Schlierse, especially if you like eating fish. The meat dishes on offer are also good. Everything fits, food, service and atmosphere with a beautiful garden with partial lake views.

Op basis van de goede beoordelingen hier naartoe gelopen. Op de vraag of er nog plek was voor vier werden we afgesnauwd op het terras. Hoe we het in ons hoofd haalden langs te komen zonder reservering. Nog nooit eerder zoiets ongastvrij meegemaakt. Gezien de beoordelingen moet het eten wel erg goed zijn want van de gastvrijheid moeten ze het hier niet hebben. We hebben ergens anders gegeten en dat was prima.

We went there for dinner for the first time yesterday, it was just before 8 p.m. but we were able to order something to eat, the service was extremely friendly, courteous, it just couldn't get any better! I had the mixed grill trio of game fish and I don't even know what to say, it was the first time in a very long time that the fish was cooked to perfection and not fried to death like in many other restaurants, the taste was excellent. The same applies to the baked potato with salmon that my wife ordered.

I had the Schliersee loin, my wife the rump steak. Both fried to perfection, as ordered. Very, very tasty. The service is quick, very friendly. The chairs in the beer garden aren't exactly comfortable, but with the cushions provided they're OK. As a tip; Please be sure to book a table in advance. Without a pre-order you hardly have a chance.

After a nine-hour journey from Rostock, there was a large, delicious refreshment with friendly service and a great view over Lake Schliersee.
