The food wasn't cheap, but it was really substandard. Meat of poor quality, dessert (Kaiserschmarren) out of a bag and only lukewarm. Salad not washed properly, constantly bitten on sand.

Very nice in the beer garden in summer! The food is always good and of course the beer too. Service is attentive and quick. Food also comes quickly, despite the restaurant being full. Currently, April 2025, there is March again. Only recommended If you want to be guaranteed a place, you should make a reservation. And as a tip, there is an app from HB where you can collect points and redeem them for drinks etc. It's worth it

You're a regular customer... in the last few years you've probably left 10k at the Malle parties and then you can't manage to get enough staff for the day that was planned for a long time so that there isn't even a Goassmass? This way you can also get rid of it.

Great ambience of a Hofbräuhaus, absolutely fair, we were given a quieter corner and seat cushions upon request, the food and service were good and we would come back again.

I’m sorry but whilst my server was attentive and friendly. This couldn’t make up for the over priced beer and food. The pork schnitzel was over cooked and dry. The potato salad was tasteless. I hate to leave rubbish reviews but as I sit here now regretting spending €33 on something that may have only cost €5 to produce. I wish I’d had a doner instead! Would have been tastier and better value for money.

We were at a major event, the food was very tasty, the beer came quickly, the atmosphere was there.

A place where you can drink good German beer and have a good time accompanied by traditional music. They have menus suitable for children. It is better to go with an appointment. There may not be an empty table, we just happened to have such an evening.

Great atmosphere!!!! Superiority!!! You immediately feel part of a large group and have fun like a local. The food is delicious, maybe a bit pricey, but OK for Berlin. The seats (benches) are a bit uncomfortable for people with musculoskeletal problems like me.

We went last night and the waitress who served us, so to speak, was horrible. He was not in his rank, so his companions could not serve us. It took more than 40 minutes to take our order. He left the tables dirty and his colleagues had to clean them up. He was absent and the tables that were set up could not pay. And when you got him to attend to you, he looked at you, sparing your life. With how cool and good the food is in this place, it's a shame that they have such bitter people working in front of the public. His manager knew that he was not serving the tables and did nothing to remedy it. A shame, we had to go out to eat a kebab

Original Hofbräuhaus atmosphere in the middle of Berlin. In no way inferior to the original. Food, service and atmosphere were great!

Horrible service! The blonde waitress was super rude to my friend, and even questioned why we didn’t tip after such horrible service. Food was very dry and unimpressive as well.

The atmosphere starts around 10 p.m. when people start heading downtown to dance. The service is very good, and live music is played throughout the meal. I would go back; we had a great time. The food was good, and the drinks were a bit pricey.

Despite the packed house, I got a spontaneous table on a Saturday evening. Good food, good beer, good service, good live music. Everything was good.

If you want a german food experience it’s a great place. Spacious and nicely decorated. You can get 1 liter beers which are pretty good specially the “weissen” one. The big crunchy pork knuckle is amazing, you must try it, good for sharing between 3 people adding smashed potato as side dish. The mixed starters table was just fine but not very special. Prices are mostly fair, only downside is that they wanted to charge us 10% for tips directly, which I personally feel forced, so in the end we gave 5% and they were a bit annoyed… However, I recommend it!

I traveled to many countries in Europe, Spain,Italy, France ..... No restaurant was as bad as this one. First of all we went in and waited at our seats for 30 minutes and no one came to order. The restaurant didn't have many customers at that time. Even when we waved to the staff, they pretended not to see us. When asking the staff what dishes they recommend, they were also totally impatient as if I owed him something. Finally, when it came to the payment, it was obvious that there was a problem with the machine, but they shifted the blame to my card. The whole meal was awkward as hell and the atmosphere of the restaurant was suffocating for a restaurant. Recommend not to come👎👎👎

Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. We had pork schnitzel which was delicious and they had live music in which waiters would take part in. Service as quick and very friendly. Would recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting some traditional German food in Berlin.

The atmosphere at HB is great, but the service leaves much to be desired. Most of the waiters are extremely rude and lazy, though there are a few nice ones—but unfortunately, they are in the minority. Overall, the place is decent.

Typical german food very tasty! We ordered two plates to share which to be fair, I forgot their names. One was a selection of several kinds of meat including the pork knuckle and the other included was some meat with Bavarian potato salad. Service was awesome! The waiter sat down with us and explained the menu trying to communicate in Spanish, our mother language and providing additional images. 10/10 recommended

The place is very large and does not lack the typical atmosphere with live music, but everything else was not convincing. The staff is inattentive and at times rude, the dishes are plentiful but the quality of the food is poor (the potatoes were cold and rubbery). Value for money to be reviewed.

A tratti, sembra di stare proprio all’octoberfest di Monaco, la birra naturalmente è buonissima, il personale simpatico e professionale, e la qualità del cibo di sicuro migliore rispetto al “papà” di Monaco di Baviera. Insomma, prenotate, se no non troverete posto, ma andateci, vale la pena.

We enjoyed our visit to the Hofbrau haus in Munchen last year and decided to visit the Hofbrau haus in Berlin. The visit didn't let us down. Fantastic ale and food served by polite and attentive staff who are always well presented and professional. Well worth a visit.

The service here was truly terrible. While we were ordering, the waiter scowled and rolled his eyes the entire time. We called for him several times during the meal, but he just didn't come. We needed a spoon, but there was no one there, so we got it ourselves – and then he loudly "lectured" us twice. And this is supposed to be the service at a well-known restaurant?

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the waiter who greeted us made it clear we weren’t welcome—his attitude was cold, his expression dismissive, and he seemed reluctant to even show us to a table. Not long after we sat down, we were told to move because the table had apparently been “reserved,” despite no mention of that earlier. When we tried to order, the staff preferred chatting among themselves rather than serving us. We had to actively seek their attention, and the service throughout remained indifferent and borderline rude. There was no sense of hospitality—just a mechanical, disinterested attitude. Then came the awkward part: we were “asked” whether we wanted to add a 10% service charge. But with the waiter looming over us, holding the card reader and pressing for a quick answer, it hardly felt like a genuine question. Despite receiving such poor service, we still left a €2 tip out of courtesy. Unsurprisingly, it was met with no thanks—only a cold glare and the sound of the card reader being dropped on the table. Frankly, the service here was among the worst I’ve encountered, and certainly not worth any additional charge. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Ironically, this beer hall traces its origins back to a famous location in Munich—one tied to a rather infamous chapter of the 20th century. After visiting the Berlin branch, I can’t help but feel that a certain old spirit of exclusion and superiority still echoes through its walls.

We were there for the crime dinner. Unfortunately, the food was cold when it finally arrived and was poorly organized. The room was far too big and we barely noticed anything. Price performance failed. The evening wasn't very nice. 😏

Visited with my daughters. Recommend the crispy pork knuckle and wash it down with plenty of lager. Great atmosphere and service. The band was fantastic too.

Highly recommend, it is a great atmosphere with excellent service great beer and authentic German food. I definitely think i will be eating here again during my stay in Berlin

We ate there on our first evening, what can I say, the only thing that tasted good were the drinks. My husband's schnitzel was not well-colored and was of poor quality, my salad was served without dressing and many of the lettuce leaves were already wilted, so not fresh either. We were then asked if it was tasty and we then stated our shortcomings, but there was no sign of an apology or compensation. It's okay to go out for drinks, but stay away from food!

The staff is very attentive. There is typical German food and it is very good. We went to dinner and there was live music playing.

I really liked this place. We arrived on a Saturday at 7:30 pm and they attended us super fast. The place is huge, there are a lot of tables and space. The waiter who served us was super nice and was attentive to us at all times. I recommend trying the knuckle and the currywurst, in addition to their typical beers. It was a super nice experience because they play German music while having dinner and it makes the atmosphere super cool ✨

I had a spectacular experience at Hofbräu Wirtshaus Berlin! The atmosphere was lively, authentic and full of Bavarian tradition. The food was delicious, especially the pork knuckle and the typical sausages. The beer was incredible and the service was impeccable. Live music and lots of energy! I highly recommend it! 🍻

Five of us went there for lunch. The staff was very friendly, and the portions were decently large. However, for us, as northerners, the Bavarian currywurst wasn't really a treat. For me, it was an overly thick boiled sausage that had been briefly fried in a fat pan. It didn't have much in common with a real currywurst. But then, as we all know, there's no accounting for taste.

This is a tourist trap. Went there tonight and ordered pork roast. I had two or three bites and then returned the dish because it was not what I expected. Ordered some cheese and bread instead (Obazter), which was good. When I settled my bill, I was told that l have to pay for the pork roast becauseI tried it! How else shall I find out whether I like the dish? Later on I also complained to the manager, who made the same argument: I touched the dish so I have to pay for it. I can only recommend to avoid this place.

This place was so good we ate dinner here two days in a row. First night we got here early around 6pm and we got a table very easy. We had snitzel and the sausage both super delicious. The next night we came a little later maybe closer to 730-8pm and the place was pumping on a TUESDAY! It was absolutely packed we lined up in the cold to get in. The band was playing and people singing and dancing it was fantastic, pork knuckles tonight and it was amazing! This was by far our favourite place and if we stayed another night I dare say we would come again. Highly recommend.

Not a great experience I’m afraid. Service was okay, but host lady not too friendly. Place is clean but leaflets on the table doesn’t look professional. Food: overpriced and not very tasty: too salty and schnitzel from fryer which is ridiculous. Portions are not tiny, but not big also. I was expecting a better taste of German cuisine. Can’t recommend.

Not as good as Munich but worth a visit. It may be worth booking in advance for an evening event, check their schedule online. We just turned up and got a table. The food was good, excellent service. Recommend the pretzels but would remove some of the salt. Be careful as you pay at the end and you can quite easily rack up a large bill.

I'm a big fan of German taverns in the Hofbräuhaus style, the atmosphere is fun, the food gives you a comfortable and nice feeling of home. The staff is very friendly and also happy to chat with the guests, absolutely lovely and delicious experience

Typical Bavarian atmosphere in the heart of Berlin. The food is like in Munich and the service is very good. The pork shank was excellent, the Schnitzel was very good. The service was welcoming from the guy originally from Eritrea who was really kind and professional and always smiling. I highly recommend it

We were recommended and it did not fail. We reserve via the website, super simple. We arrived earlier and they gave us a table anyway. We ordered beer, knuckle and schnitzel with kartofell salad. The drink came super quickly and the food didn't take long at all. Super abundant and tasty beyond measure. There is a show after 7:00 p.m. This time it started earlier. The atmosphere is super familiar and welcoming.

Atmospheric place with national cuisine. Very popular, I recommend booking in advance. Music plays from 18:00 - the atmosphere is like during the Oktoberfest celebration. Very tasty!
