HEYLUIGI in München

I had the spaghetti greci and the salsiccia as a starter. Both dishes were excellent and a generous portion. Other people at the table were very happy with their salads, but the gnocchi took some getting used to (very soft inside, almost black on the outside in some places). The atmosphere was like a pub, and at times incredibly loud. A little investment in soundproofing would be fantastic to make the restaurant more comfortable.

My friends and I have mixed impressions of this restaurant/bar. In December 2024, the two of us spontaneously got a seat late in the evening, received excellent service, and were very satisfied with the food and drinks. My truffle-loving friend particularly enjoyed the truffle pasta, as they didn't skimp on the truffle in the dish, and in her opinion, it was absolutely worth the money. Because of this wonderful evening in general, and the truffle linguine in particular, the three of us returned to HeyLuigi on September 25. Unfortunately, two things disappointed us. 1. The truffle pasta was a complete disappointment. The sauce unfortunately had zero truffle flavor, and the small amount of truffle topping was dried out and tasted like nothing. In fact, it was a portion of pasta with oil and Parmesan for 20 euros. We ate it all, but only because we were hungry, and we were extremely frustrated by the stinginess. 2. My friend ordered a bottled drink, which I think was listed on the menu as a mint-cucumber lemonade or something like that, and she wanted to try it. It was essentially a cucumber spritzer with no mint at all, a matter of taste, but all three of us found it undrinkable. Unfortunately, the drink couldn't be returned; the reason given was "the bottle is already open, I can't sell it anymore." Yes... we understand that, but it's all about goodwill and satisfaction, so a few euros shouldn't be a factor. It's quite common in bars to take back drinks, e.g., cocktails, that the guest doesn't like at all, free of charge, or at least modify them or offer something else, and try to avoid frustrating the guest. At least, that's how I know and appreciate it. Why would you consume something you find disgusting? You can't know beforehand, especially if it's described differently on the menu. No guest would do that without a good reason. Unfortunately, there was no concession, no "here, I could make you another spritzer," "here, I could offer you an espresso." So the bottle sat there stupidly on our table for the rest of the evening. On the positive side, the service was very good again, I also like the bar atmosphere, and the miso tofu soup was good, albeit smaller than last December, and I would have preferred it to be more strongly seasoned. They offer an excellent non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz! I would definitely come back, although I'd rather go for drinks/cocktails later in the evening rather than for dinner.

Unfortunately, the food has deteriorated considerably. The pasta was incredibly bland, lacking in flavor, and not al dente enough (we had the truffle, amatriciana, and meatball pasta). What a shame! It used to be a great restaurant, but it's probably past its prime now.

Seating is available both inside and outside. Reservations via app are convenient and useful. Friendly service. Delicious food. A manageable menu. Relaxed. A casual atmosphere perfect for friends or family.

In Munich for a week, and we went to Hey Luigi 3 times! Great cocktails, outdoor seating in a nice and quiet part of town, good food and excellent service. 🩷

During our stay in Munich, we ate here twice; the outdoor tables are on a main, quiet road. The food is excellent; we chose the pasta and goulash. The house wine (Primitivo) was excellent. The service and atmosphere were relaxed.

Hey Luigi's was a real disappointment. The fried gnocci with avocado were very dry. The gnocci looked more like potato wedges and tasted like Swabian sausages. The avocado wasn't a sauce, but rather avocado slices thrown over the top, which were ultimately superfluous because they added nothing to the flavor. The spaghetti gricia tasted bland, aside from too much salt, and the bacon, which seemed uncooked, was mixed in in a homeopathic amount. Both dishes are worth skipping. The ragu appetizer, on the other hand, was very spicy. It was also so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. The service was very fast and friendly. Overall, however, we won't be coming back. The ambiance and the quality of the food were too poor, regardless of the price.

Interesting fusion of italian and asian cuisines

Nice to sit outside and friendly service :) but the food was very average. Spaghetti with tomato sauce and parsley? Difficult! The portion was also very small! Unfortunately the gnocchi were dry. I wouldn't eat there again :(

No, HeyLuigi's carbonara is unfortunately not authentic and the atmosphere is terrible.

Card payments are always a funny topic at such restaurants The waitress told us: only EC, DEBIT or cash So I paid with my DEBIT card - how do I know it's debit? It's in my banking, online and on the back of the card. The waitress then said succinctly: “It was a VISA but it was ok. VISA only works if we don’t want it!” I'm not an expert when it comes to cards but my card says DEBIT on it and if it's not wanted then it doesn't communicate that way. Besides, what does that mean - “we don’t want it!” I ate here and didn't just buy a roll and you still don't want to pay the fees for it? Very few people have an EC card these days! The pasta was OK.

The pasta is very good, as is the selection. Unfortunately, card payments are very restricted; only Girocard is accepted. This is very unusual in 2025, in the supposedly progressive Glockenbachviertel and where Girocards are hardly issued anymore.

Lots of nice looking salads. The beef schnitzel was great. Nice laid back atmosphere.

Wie immer und erwartet sehr liebes Personal und leckeres Essen. In den Kräuterpfannkuchen könnte ich mich reinlegen. Wir waren gleich 17 Uhr zu Öffnung da und leider was es sehr kalt. Aber es war trotzdem schön und wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Great food and great service! To be on the safe side, it's better to make a reservation, otherwise you'll rarely find something spontaneous in the evening! And: if you want to have a conversation, it can be difficult. With music + full house it can get very loud here!

This is one of my favorite places to have dinner. Mostly excellent pastas, salads, meat etc. Great choice of wine and beer and the atmosphere is simply great, sometimes a little noisy but it's just such a great overall package. Recommendation: spaghetti and meatballs.

Bar / restaurant in the middle of the Glockenbachviertel. Rustic wooden tables, tiled stove and crazy decorations with green plastic animals on the wall. Super fast, very friendly service. Great high quality drinks. Food can't keep up. The highly praised carbonara with onsen egg is somehow bland and mediocre. Too bad.

Tolle Kneipe, um Freunde zu treffen. Leckeres Essen. Netter Service. Nur zum Unterhalten in einer größeren Gruppe etwas schwierig, weil sehr laut. Aber ansonsten super für einen schönen Abend .

Für den Service und Preis-Leistungsverhätlnis weniger Punkte, weil: der Service leider sehr lang gebraucht hat, um uns überhaupt Getränke und erst recht die Vorspeise zu bringen. Das Abräumen war dafür wiederum zu schnell (großer Rest der Vorspeise und der leckeren Focaccia-Brotes wurden so schnell weggeräumt, dass wir es gar nicht gemerkt haben). und weil der Preis für alles insgesamt zu hoch ist. Der Lärmpegel ist ab 20:30 Uhr / 21 Uhr so laut, dass man sich nicht richtig unterhalten und hören kann. Der Rest ist gut. Es hat super geschmeckt und meinem Besuch hat das Lokal gefallen.

Wir kommen extra aus dem Münchener Norden. Das sagt glaube ich alles. Wie immer war der Service sehr freundlich, das Essen mega lecker. Qualität, Geschmack und Portionen für den Preis top. Die Atmosphäre auch sehr angenehm um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Wir kommen definitiv immer wieder.

Charging is only good as long as you don't have any special requests. Service takes some getting used to. Fortunately, there are alternatives.

The atmosphere in this place was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and sweet (especially the guy with the ponytail), the food was delicious and there is a wide variety of drinks to choose from. Overall a really nice place to hang out with friends. Definitely recommend!

We reserved a table online and it said on the internet that you can no longer reserve outside (portal error), but you should just let us know on site and then you can sit outside. When we arrived, everything outside was already full. The waitresses are very nice and accommodating, but unfortunately the food took forever to arrive, but it was delicious. Overall, the whole atmosphere is rather restless and uncomfortable. The name of the restaurant is also very confusing - we wanted to eat Italian.

The desert was great but the gnocchi with avacado and lemon was not worth it. It was floating in oil .. The atmosphere is great.. right in the ceter of city The food is expensive for what they serve.

Spoiler: There is no pizza in this Italian-inspired restaurant! So much in advance. But really good pasta and, interestingly, a schnitzel too 🤔 my favorite dish is spaghetti carbonara with "60-minute organic egg yolk" (whatever that means; maybe there's a chicken coop behind the house). The portion is rather small, but damn tasty. We recommend. Service is absolutely nice and friendly. They really do a great job.

Great vibes and very chill. A wonderful selection of spritz which is perfect for pre-dinner drinks or a chill afternoon. The cocktail menu is very generous and they serve a good pour. Perfect location to spend with friends. The service and staff were wonderful and very attentive. And the food selection was wide with the option of making dishes vegan. Recommend ordering the goat cheese salad, the carbonara, truffle pasta, as well as the appetizers to share.

The food was quite good. Unfortunately the drinks are very expensive. A vodka soda for €11 is quite a deal. Ambience great

Oh my god this restaurant is fantastic!! The menu is so diverse, full of real, wholesome food. They are seriously serving food first and then making money second. The staff is lovely, super friendly and inviting, feels like you are at a friend's house party enjoying the food and the vibes. This restaurant is one of a kind, do not miss out!

A favorite for a beer after work. The gnocchi sage are excellent! If I could wish for one thing it would be opening hours at lunchtime. I would rarely go anywhere else.

In the past, the portions at hey Luigi were always large and the ratio to the price was ok. When I was there last time, I couldn't get enough from one main course because the portion was so small. That is absolutely disproportionate to the price. But the service was good.

Ich komme immer wieder sehr gerne ins Hey Luigi. Egal ob mit Freunden/Bekannten/Kollegen/innen aus München oder von außerhalb - wir sind jedes Mal aufs neue begeistert von den Regulars aus der Küche, dem aufgeschlossenen und absolut herzlichen Service sowie Sommer wie Winter der Atmosphäre, draußen wie drinnen. Immer wieder gerne und immer wieder sehr gerne Spaghetti Meatballs und ein bisschen Liquid Cocain. ;)

Also der Service ist nett und freundlich und die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet, von daher heiß, aber auch lecker. Aber auf die Speisekarte Römische Spaghetti Carbonara zu schreiben ist schon gewagt, wenn man Gäste bewirtet die schon mehrfach in Rom waren und sehr genau wissen, wie diese ausschauen und zubereitet werden…kein Vergleich, sorry! Man muss auch die Lautstärke der Lokalität schon mögen, wenn man zu einem Abendessen geht…

Best Carbonara/Gricia in Munich!

Hip restaurant with delicious pasta and great cocktails

Starters were tasty, main courses (both) were unfortunately nothing. Both extremely boring and disappointing, my pasta just didn't taste like anything - for the price you expect at least some taste. The ambience is cool in itself, but it was so loud that you couldn't have a conversation at all. We had to shout at each other to even understand anything...

The restaurant style is great, seems like it was a relaxed pub at some point and that means it's cozy and comfortable. Food was amazing, Trüffel pasta nearly as good as in Italy. They have a small menu but do the items well, even the salads looked like a good option, though those maybe better suited for summer not - 6 degrees. The perfect place for a cozy winter time dinner of pasta goodness. The tool their use for reservations is a pain. It constantly sends emails after the the visit. Also they send an email to confirm the reservation, which means you could lose your reservation if you don't respond. So have your emails handy at all times.

Das Lokal wirkt von außen sehr unscheinbar und fast schon ein wenig heruntergekommen, wie eine in die Jahre gekommene Eckkneipe. Auch die Inneneinrichtung ist nicht sonderlich einladend. Das Essen hingegen ist sehr lecker und bietet einige außergewöhnliche und spannende Kreationen. Insbesondere das Amarettini Crumble als Nachtisch war ein Gedicht. Lediglich die Portionsgröße könnte beispielsweise bei den Gnocchi etwas größer sein. Man sollte sich von dem Erscheinungsbild also nicht abschrecken lassen und den Kreationen der Küche eine Chance geben.

Unkomplizierte Reservierung, außergewöhnliches Essen, auch viele vegane und vegetarische Gerichte, geschmacklich top 👍 auch die Nachttische sind sehr zufrieden empfehlen

Mein Besuch bei HEYLUIGI war einfach spitze. Von Anfang bis Ende verlief alles unkompliziert, was nach einem stressigen Arbeitstag genau das Richtige war. Das Essen war nicht nur sehr lecker, sondern auch das Ambiente trug zur gemütlichen Atmosphäre bei. Ein besonderes Lob verdient unsere Bedienung: unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam, was maßgeblich zu unserer guten Laune beigetragen hat. Es war ein rundum entspannender und erfreulicher Aufenthalt. Ich kann dieses Lokal nur wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich auf meinen nächsten Besuch.
